In Search of My Body....Not the One I ATE! Vol. 5: Goddesses are Always on Top!

Lisa, I totally agree about big houses.

I mean, you need to fit your family, right? I have ONE kid. There's only 3 of us. We don't need a five bedroom house. But of you have 18 kids, you do need a big house!

For me, like you said, it means we can get away from each other - as any parent knows, there is no such thing as getting away from your kids in your house. It doesn't matter how big it is! But your spouse? Well, you can get away from them. And that's not always good. Leave for the weekend, yes. Avoid each other every day? No.

I don't resent people who have one child and 7,000 square feet, because I don't want to BE them. I just want my second bathroom so I don't have to hold it while my four year old reads books on the potty. And one day, a bigger kitchen because we entertain a lot and that's where everyone is. ALL THE TIME. (Why does everyone always hang out in the kitchen? WHY?)

But truly, we have more space than we need. So when people...express their personal opinion on my house size, it's funny to me. Like, what should I be in? A McMansion?

Jodi and Greg have the same house we do. There are minor differences, like our downstairs space, how it's divided, but it's basically the same house. Three bedrooms, two people. So this will be fine when the baby comes! But she has always said they have too much space. So we laugh now and wonder if they're going to wish they had more space once those toys arrive! OMG, in the toddler years I would have annexed the toys if I could have!

You buy the house that's right for you, that you can afford. If you want to have tons of space, go for it! It's just not me. Again, I'd take lottery winnings and finish the fing bathroom and gut the 1957 pink one, and make the kitchen slightly bigger for the 36 odd people who NEVER LEAVE IT. But I don't ever see me moving to an Orange County mansion. All I want is a place to pee and to go to Disney once a year. Not too much to ask, right? :lmao:

Oh. And have you ever noticed that the people who have the best kitchens never entertain? It kills me. They could fit a stadium of people in them and they have party anxiety. Oh, the humanity.

Hi lar ious, Liz! And I keep saying the same thing. With the camp. I don't need a camp. Really. I just want the house I have now, the pool club, and Disney trips. I don't need a luxury vehicle. I don't need a bigger house. The only reason I agreed to the camp is because we can flip it in a few years and put a kid or two through college.

But I also believe that if there is something in life that a person really, really wants--they should have it. Life is short. If it is THAT important to you, then do it, buy it, or make it happen.

SO--this is the Announcement that my Assistant, Stephanie, just posted to all of my students, clients, colleagues, etc:

Hi All--

Just a quick note to let you know that Dr. Anderson is going to be offline beginning noon today (Saturday) and all day Sunday as she will be competing in a triathlon this week-end.

Please know that she will respond to e-mails and postings on Monday.

Thanks and enjoy the week-end!

HA!

I got a Bondi that just says TRI on it (in the oval sticker style).

And I got my mom and I matching shirts. On the front it says Triathlete with big graphic in the center of the swim/bike/run. And on the back it says:

Swim
Bike
Run
Tri
Finish

Just like that in a line down the center. I will post pics. And the kids gave me a tech shirt that says Triathamom. LOVE that.

What the flip?

I can sit here all day and no one will post. I take my time logging in and thinking there may be a few posts when I do and there's like 3-4 pages. :lmao:

Liz - I want a honking big house. It's my dream. We build too many, I have so many ideas and opinions. Must. Win. Lottery.

EriKa - you have an assistant? Who knew. Are you tight?

HA!

See, Erika, it's a good thing that I don't know you in 3D, because if I did every time I saw you I'd address you as "Dr. Anderson". It wouldn't be normal, though. I'd say it like Agent Smith in "The Matrix". I'd wear sunglasses too. To make it creepier. :cool2:
"Tell me, Dr. Anderson... what good is a phone call... if you're unable to speak?" :rotfl2:

You SHOULD have a huge house. Because that is what you do and love.

I have 3 assistants. Well, I had 3. One just left and I am hiring someone new. The one that just left, yeah, she was like part of my body. Or more like Radar, from Mash. She knew what I needed done before even I did. And she worked just for me. The other 2 Assistants I share with 2 other colleagues.

And you totally knew. Remember at Christmas? I got them all Coach? I was deciding between Vera and Coach.

Roddy! Too funny! :rotfl2: The funny thing is that very few people use my title. I am pretty much just Erika to everyone.

Agree. It's weird, no?

1. Why did she leave?

2. NO! Don't remember. Coach what?

It might have been me you were debating with on assistant gifts. Because I remember every detail of that, including you leaving me messages from the store. ;)

Roddy. We're mavericks. Sometimes we just take off! You gotta keep up.

Lyz, you can have a super huge house. I give you permission. I just want a bathroom. And Disney.

This is turning into the 37 points. :rotfl:

Liz, yes, I do. I think people around me are constantly a bit baffled about how I live. Mostly due to the lifestyle, though, but also the stark surroundings.

However, my closet is probably as big as E's, or close to it. This house has a lot of space, a lot more than 2 people and 2 cats probably need. We have two bedrooms that are barely used, and even one bedroom closet that is virtually empty.

Lisa, how big is your place again? 400? I lived in 500 sq ft when I lived in Chicago and I loved it. It was an open, airy space with great views.

E, loved the princess half links. I SO want to do it. Even with the pink shirts! ;)

Okay, I did my power sculpt. And I am feeling overwhelmed. Like, this is going to be sooo hard to get back into. How am I going to balance all the exercise I need to do? Not when will I find time, but how am I going to fit in all the different kinds?

Like, the yoga/Pliates. I need to get back to that twice a week. And the running. And the spin. And the weights - I can't ignore weights. And I can't do anything once a week, it all needs to be twice a week to count. And I am sooo out of shape. OMG. I am weak! I have to build all kinds of endurance just to get back to the running.

See why peanut butter cups were an easier choice? ;)

Oh, Liz, I feel your pain. It is SOOOO hard to get back to.

I wish I could say that the first day I wasn't sore since Jan was yesterday, but, well, I can't.

I think I skipped a page before posting that last post. That's what I get for posting before coffee.

E, LOVE the shirts!! Triathamom!!

Erika, I love the shirts. And I know the bondi that you mean. And see? J is totally supportive. He got you the shirt! From the kids.

Kat, you know I can go - no worries. It's the planning of it that makes me want to lie down on the coach. And the walking in being WEAK. Ugh.

Ah, the planning. Yes, understand now. And yes, I KNOW you can go.

I have motivation now... not looking like a blob in April, and in June. Two events that are spurring my @ss to eat right and make it to the gym.

And mmm... couch. :)

Wow, where are all of you? Sleeping? Is that what people do on the weekend? :lmao:

I wish I had been sleeping. Instead, I was at the gym. Had my 8:00 am "beating". OMG she totally kicked my @ss. Totally and completely. I am SO whooped. She laughed and promised me that I would be thinking about her tomorrow - when the thought of stairs made me cry. Yep. I'm toast.

MORNING all!

Hi Steph! Good to hear from you. :goodvibes

Notice the racing bib...instead of just your name on it like marathon week-end, it says Princess Erika.

I saved mine from the WDW marathons.

Do you ever think people might be stunned by how you live?

I find it very interesting to see how others live. I'm not into "excessive". Just don't see the need for it, kwim? But others just have this need to be living in a museum-like house. I won't even call it a "home" because you feel like you have to be uber careful with everything. Not my style. I mean - I have GOATS in my house every now and then. I gotta be practical! ;)

Funny thing about my big closet, though! When Cammie was born, we hadn't finished her room yet. So we put her crib and changing table IN THE CLOSET. Yes, for a year, my baby daughter's room was the closet. We used to love to shock people with that, "Yeah, we just have her in the closet." :lmao:

The Harry Potter Child. :upsidedow

I have a different perspective now though. Our house is big enough - about 3500sq ft. For our area, it's pretty average size. And yes, I have 3 kids so it's been great. But I'm seeing the light at the end of my "kids living at home" tunnel! As one gets ready to leave for college, and the baby headed for H.S. I can't help but wonder how much longer I *need* to live here.

The bigger the house, the more crap that you fill it with - the longer it takes to clean :rolleyes1 Not that I'm ready for retirement or anything...I dunno. If I were to move today, I would look for a house that was a step down in size I think.

And the kids gave me a tech shirt that says Triathamom. LOVE that.

That's awesome. Love it :goodvibes

We do it just to annoy you. :lmao:

BEAUTIFUL day here today. Simply gorgeous. If I weren't so whooped, I'd get my bike out and ride. But I'd probably fall off right now :scared:

Besides - gotta go sew. less than 2 weeks until the show, and I just want to be done!

Kat - I did an excel sheet. Of course. At least I have a plan now. Sort of!

Nancy - I want pictures of the costumes. For real.

Thanks, Kat! :goodvibes And yeah, you DO have a ton of space for just the two of you, but I think that is good. You need your space, so it works for you.

OMG, Liz, you did NOT make a speadsheet for your workouts did you? Please tell me you didn't! :faint:

Oh and I am a definite for next year. 100%.
