In Search of My Body....Not the One I ATE! Vol. 5: Goddesses are Always on Top!

I am up for another 4 or 6 week challenge.

I have no major events coming up in that time frame to work towards - sad, I know - so it doesn't really matter to me. I would be happy to stay on this 5 -6 pound / month pace.

My bigger goal is my bike race in July and then my birthday in September. I would really like to be zeroing in on the 75 - 80 pound mark by my birthday and then begin closing in on the 100 pound mark by the new year (that would be a truly awesome Christmas present!).

Oh, and back to beer, again, for a moment.

I have remembered this week exactly how much I HATE Bud Light. So I love beer, right? Bud Light, I would rather lick the floor than drink it. D brought it home because they were out of Bud Select (which is vaguely tolerable), and I tried it again, and seriously? If I had the choice, I would drink water, or dt soda, or just go thirsty. Blech.

In general, I just don't like light beer. And, why drink something you don't like? I think that I have decided that I am either going to drink regular beer, and less of it, or switch to wine. Unless it's free. But, not Bud Light.

I will talk with J tonight about the 5k in April. The only issue is that 2 weeks later we leave for the cruise, so I may not have time to jet off for a week-end when we have a major trip in the works. Plus, the end of the semester is May 2, so I will be in end-of-the-school-year-hell. But I really want to race with you. Should know by the end of the week-end.

By the way, this week-end is our anniversary. On Sunday. The Ides of March. We didn't heed the warning! :rotfl2: 12 years married, 15.5 together. So here is what my week-end looks like:

Today, Riley's surgery
Tomorrow - Cammie's birthday party (yes, we had to do it 2 weeks after her actual day)
Tomorrow night - our for dinner with J to celebrate our anniversary
Sunday - 5k race. J and I are running for sure. Cammie is on the fence. She wants to do it, but she isn't sure she is ready.

So, busy week-end in this house!

Happy Anniversary Erika!!!! Have fun at your dinner.

Happy belated Birthday Cammie - gotta love the birthday buffer!!!!

Just jumping on whilst I have a spare 2 minutes!

Don't kill the in-laws, I'm against that, but maybe next week you could rough em up a little. :rotfl:

Rough them up a little - I like that! :rotfl:

Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is having a great day so far. I am feeling very drained this week emotionally so I am a bit wiped out at the moment. I have some ideas as to why and for now I am choosing not to worry about it. I think it is just a funk and I will get through it in a few days. Food wise and exercise wise I am on track so that is a definite plus. I am spending some time with friends and family tomorrow at a couple of different events to celebrate St. Patrick's Day and that always perks me up so that will be good. Yes - I am actually go out to bars and everything. Now I just need to figure out what to wear since you never know who you may meet at these things...

I proved my doc wrong when she informed me last July that I wouldn't be able to lose weight, so maybe I can prove her wrong again and keep the weight off, along with continuing to lose. It's not that I want to dive into a vat of brownie batter, but I want to live. I want a plan that is liveable. Make sense??

Makes sense to me, a few diet tweaks here and there and you should find something that suits you

Kelly - glad you are not on Englands most wanted for inlaw throw downs.

There is time yet :lmao:

Hi All--we're home. All went well. I am exhausted, and Riley is having no pain, so that is good. Just trying to get caught up. And I am going to have to work late into the night since I basically took all day off.

Glad to hear everything went well!

LIZ - The wedding is on the 15th of April, me and DH leave for Cyprus on Sunday the 12th - Easter Sunday!

CHALLENGE - Im easy with whatever everyone chooses. From a selfish point of view I would go for finishing on the 10th of April (Good Friday), then I wont miss the end of the challenge before we go away!

Baby goat? Hmm, what's Nancy going to do? Sacrifice a goat to the dark lord Beelzebub when she reaches her weight loss goal?:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

:rotfl:

Roddy - do you know that Nancy's a goat farmer? (well that's just one of her many jobs)

Funny how you went straight to sacrificing goats. (and kinda weird).

She has a little one that might not make it.

No, I was unaware that Nancy is a goat farmer. So, that's one of my faux pas for the week. My apologies to Nancy for a bad joke.

Kelly. Let's see pictures or links of what you're wearing!

Lyz, how was your day?

Kat, thanks for beer links!

Erika, happy anniversary! Ides of March, love it! My mom once had a boss that referenced that and then explained it to her. She was like, I get it, thanks. :rotfl:

Roddy. The goat thing is funny in a very wrong way. ;)

I know. It was funny in a very wrong way because I'm funny in a very wrong way. :lmao:

But being alerted, after the fact, that Nancy is a goat farmer and therefore, cares for her goats, I just wanted to cover all the bases. :thumbsup2

Ooooh pretty! Tell me about the shoes. Also, attendants. Is your husband standing up? And what is he wearing?

I haven't got the shoes yet :guilty: I looked for 2 hours today! Another shopping trip is in order!
Hubby not standing up, we are just regular guests! Its pretty casual for the men - open neck shirt and trousers!

Are you noticing any difference in how you feel by keeping your pace slower? :confused3
Yes, it's making a big difference. I am keeping my speed around 5 mph. I start slower and finish faster. I haven't tried to speed up since I faltered on the first five minute run. It's been smooth sailing since.

I know it's way too soon to worry about speed, but I'm obsessing about whether or not I can maintain a pace that will let me stay on the course for the WDW Half. I have decided to run for so many reasons, but I could run a half anywhere. I want the Disney medal. I read someone's trip report that while her net time was under three and a half hours, it wasn't within three and a half hours of the "start" and she didn't get a medal at first. It didn't record her chip time either.

I'd like to run the whole thing, but keep calculating... okay, if I run eight minutes and walk three my average would be....

Right now I'm just giddy from running 20 minutes.

Ronda

Congrats to everyone who rocked the challenge! :dance3:

My goals were to track 5/7 days per week: check.

No alcohol: check-ish ;) I had 2 tiny (restaurant size) glasses of wine at Valentines day. I'm calling it success!

Water: ugh. The fish called. They want it back. :scared: check.

Exercise: goal was 2100 minutes - as of this morning I was 2195. Check.

Weight: well - I didn't set a goal. But I did lose 3 lbs, which puts me at 1.5 pounds away from goal. :cool1:

As for a new challenge - I'm up for it. Definitely. We are headed to San Antonio on April 18th, and I would really like to be firmly at goal by then. You know, so I can "undo" all that I've accomplished ;)

Yes, race! Race! Race! Whee!!!!

Liz - please give me the link to your donation website again! I haven't done that yet and really want to.

Baby goat? Hmm, what's Nancy going to do? Sacrifice a goat to the dark lord Beelzebub when she reaches her weight loss goal?:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

eh. Don't need any special occasion to sacrifice a goat. We do it just for fun 'round here :darth:

Ohh, it wasn't a bad joke at all. Very funny.

You're right. But you know what's even funnier? :confused3 :confused3 The thought of Roddy squirming because he thinks he might have offended me

Seriously though Roddy -it's ok. Really it is.:thumbsup2

Excellent! I was hoping that you'd get the results you were after! Congrats on your run tonight.

Ok. I wasn't going to say anything, just gonna let it slide....but since you asked.

The little guy had pneumonia. Just happens sometimes. And when they are teeny and brand new like that (he was born on Wednesday), well, the odds are totally stacked against them. :sad2:

Uh oh - so is he now dinner?

Nancy! great job. 1.5 lbs away from goal! WOW!

Congrats to all you losers.

Kelly - love the dress. So lovely.

Rhonda - Hi. I got nothing for your running talk.

Liz - my day was a very normal Friday. Nothing exciting to report. Thanks for asking. How was your day?
