In Search of My Body....Not the One I ATE! Vol. 5: Goddesses are Always on Top!

Aimee, Paula, and anyone else interested, here is the link for the Eat-Clean Diet which kind of explains the plan I am following. I am finding my energy level to be more constant through the day (blood sugar levels) and I am never hungry. This may be the solution you are looking for. It mixes complex carbs and protein for every meal/snack and even into the desserts.

http://eatcleandiet.com/default.aspx?page=2

Paula, I am feeling you right now... Hang in. Oh and go for something comfy and cute like khakis or a pair of dark jeans, a dressier shirt and throw on some heels for good measure.

Good morning everyone! :goodvibes

Quickie post to thank you all for your kind words from yesterday. I am going to say the age old line and sincerely mean it, it's not you, it's me. Feeling a little lonely and lost is all. Nancy is right, this too shall pass. Thanks again everyone.

Nancy, late after a workout...here are my tips for you: (1) Wet ones (they are a life saver); (2) Dove body spray (it smells good like you just showered!); and, (3) dry shampoo. Yep, they are all in my gym bag and I use them after EVERY workout...especially when I have to pick up the kids afterward and there is no shower time!

...

Multivitamins question: I forgot this one from the other day. I used to take 2 fish oil tabs, 1 niacin tab (high cholesterol recommendations) and a multivitamin. Then I discovered red yeast and bee pollen. My energy is better, my allergies are better, my skin is better and my cholesterol is better too with just a couple of pills. Everyone should check out bee pollen, it is a wonder supplement! My other piece of advice for those who DO take vitamins is that you should take them at night. Why you ask? If you drink coffee or any other caffeinated beverage in the morning, you lose most of the nutrients with the natural flush that you get from caffeine. Sad but true!

Challenge: I weighed myself again this morning and lost another .5 pounds. That still counts right??? I also got my 4 miles in from yesterday for 28.30 total miles this week.

I hope that everyone has a great day. I don't want you all to think that I want/need you to respond to ME personally every time. It just kind of felt like I was on another page all the time. I will take a breath. I will learn to let more go. I will take responsibility for what is my own. Promise. You all really are wonderful people through to your souls.
...

Hi Lisa!! Glad that you stuck around. I think all of us are on different pages, daily... we all lead very different lives. But, there is common ground here, and friendship, and support. We just have to find where the lives intersect. :goodvibes

As to the multi, I take mine at night so that it is less likely to make me feel sick, but now you gave me even more reasons. Also, they are usually water/fat soluble so I like to take it right after dinner, along w/ bc (and claritin, this time of year). I just take a regular multi, walmart brand. Walmart, Target, One-a-day, and Centrum have all been fairly well certified from what I have read.

Congrats on the .5 lbs! You are really close to goal now, no?? So jealous!!

Ordering it on-line? But why? I'm sure I saw it at the University Health Food store. Right next to those tofu-oodle things ;)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I actually had to supress outright laughter at work on this one...

Oh Nancy, I am so over the edge right now. It's a sad day when a freakin' cracker rules my world, lol. In everybody else's world, I would be right on track. Agh!

Kat, I so understand how frustrated you became with low carb. I've been there, but abstained from indulgence until recently. Now it is so hard to go back.

I proved my doc wrong when she informed me last July that I wouldn't be able to lose weight, so maybe I can prove her wrong again and keep the weight off, along with continuing to lose. It's not that I want to dive into a vat of brownie batter, but I want to live. I want a plan that is liveable. Make sense??

I understand this completely. Low carb was fine for me for a few weeks but I just can't sustain it. Well, I was doing low cal/low carb, so the super-restriction made it worse I think.

I am working on finding a plan that I can live with too.

Challenge for this week:

Exercise, sigh. Counting Sat, I am 3/5. Even if I do today, which I am planning on a 30day shred, 4/5. Minutes for the challenge, 2015/1200.
Tracking, done. Not pretty, but done
Water, same except for Tues.
I am down .6 this week, which makes me down 11.2 for the challenge timeframe.

Hi everyone.
Hope all is well and will post this weekend after taxes are done.
New stuff to us came yesterday and it is awesome!

LisaV - have a splendid time.
E - Thoughts for Riley.
Paula - De-funk the junk.
Kelly - glad you are not on Englands most wanted for inlaw throw downs.
LisaPR - great idea on the vitamins!
Nancy - I do not envy you and the needles and thread at all.
Everyone I missed - Have a great Friday!

Off in an hour!

Just popping on to say:

Lisa P/R, I am thrilled to see you this morning. Truly.

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. :lovestruc

hey just popping in to say Hello!
Just got back from buying wall paper for my downstairs bathroom. Got rid of that god awful aqua fish with the gold sparkles! Now just have to get my mother here tomorrow to put the NEW stuff up!:cool1:

Have to work tonight like last night so I might be on late!

:rotfl:

Don't kill the in-laws, I'm against that, but maybe next week you could rough em up a little. :rotfl:

:rotfl:

I've already plugged the hole in the fence the dachshund used to get out last Saturday. His escape sent the housesitter and us into a panic. Nothing good comes from a call at midnight! He's NEVER done that before. Sunday I found what lured him from the yard... an empty cat food can was just beyond the side of the shed. The siren call of cat food doncha know. Now that I've closed it off I will use it as the lure, too.

Awwww.

It's not that I want to dive into a vat of brownie batter, but I want to live. I want a plan that is liveable. Make sense??

WORD

Funny how crackers can be considered treats? What is up with that?

So true!!!

Nancy - hows the baby goat?

I am down .6 this week, which makes me down 11.2 for the challenge timeframe.

:cheer2: Awesome, Kat!

Nancy - I do not envy you and the needles and thread at all.

And my iron just died. Dead on the table. I was just using it, too. And, done. It quit. DH just took it apart, and I plain wore it out. :headache: Now I gotta buy a new one. I'm a complete iron SNOB.:rolleyes1 I had a professional one - loved it :lovestruc

Now I'm in mourning

Off in an hour!

Enjoy & Be Safe!!

Hi All--we're home. All went well. I am exhausted, and Riley is having no pain, so that is good. Just trying to get caught up. And I am going to have to work late into the night since I basically took all day off.

GREAT job on the losses everyone! WOO HOO! Love it! If everyone can post their stats, I will post the final challenge chart tonight.

Gotta tend to the kidlet.

Nancy! Baby goat? I swear, I lost sleep thinking about the baby goat!

Erika - glad to hear that Riley is doing well. :)

E-Glad to hear the surgery went well!:goodvibes

Challenge for me:
Weight-Still 185 for me this morning, so still 3.5/5 for the challenge
Core/Strength-3 times this week, so I think I am on track for that for the challenge
Running-Just once this week
Tracking-Tracked 3 days this week as bad as it was.

Trying to figure out how I want to adjust my workout plan for the next month. I am undecided as far as continuing tracking. I lost more weight in the first challenge with no tracking. But I also did not have any time off the plan. This time I had some rest days before and after the 1/2.

I'll probably be back later to check in!

Erika - sooo glad that Riley is doing well.

Paula - I love crackers. They are binge food for me. Crazy, but true. I'm crackers! :rotfl:

I'm sorry you've had a such a draining week. For the bar, wear cute green with your cute jeans, low heeled boots. Looks nice but like you tried. Pretty earrings. My big day is Tuesday. I call it my High Holy Day. And refer to it like that to friends and family with a straight face. Needless to say, I am weighing in on Tuesday!

Lisa PR - so glad you're here. I love love love what you said. Owning it. It's cool to be on the Crazy Train, you know? I am all the time! Choo-choo! But owning your feelings (I'm just kidding about calling it crazy - it's not) is HUGE. So proud of you and so glad you are going to let us in with all the head swirling stuff. Heck, if I stepped away for that you all would never see me! :lmao:

Lisa V - have a GREAT trip. And I have more to say, but I get it. I have had people I loved not want to be in my life, and it's very painful. I have two of them on Facebook now. I am "friends" with one, but no communication, and I ignore the other - I don't want to reach out to get rejected.

Amiee - this stuff with your family is huge and I haven't been here. You have my love and support.

Nancy - I am in mourning for your iron. Can you buy an even more fabulous new one??? And how is the baby goat???

Lyz, Kat, hi!

Ronda - Way to go on the C25K. You are making me think I might be able to do it! I am afraid of it, you know. What do you do on your non-C25K days? How do you fit it all in?

Sunny, Sarah, Stacey, where are thou?

Liza Z - hi there! You have been quiet!

Amy, where are you? Did we approve this absence?

Dawn - Happy Friday back!

Roddy - So, how's it going? Just for you...:confused3 Bwahahahahahahaha.

Kelly - I am so impressed you haven't killed your inlaws. When is the wedding? So soon!

Me, I went to the gym today and took a scary weight class. It was hard. I'm sure I won't be able to walk tomorrow. One track was entirely squats and lunges. Good times.

Eating okay today, yesterday was Chinese with mom. Not good, but tracked. Man, I have to throw out those fried noodles they put in. Right in the trash! Or I WANT them. Tonight, planning on the pizza dinner with friends and kids - over my house of course! Making a salad, have a plan...just need to stick to fruit until then because I am hungry! Fruit, fruit, fruit.

Where are we with the challenge? Is it over? A new one?

Well, my results - exercised, tracked, and lost. Back on! Woo-whee!

Liz - I think we are all crackers at times... :lmao: Thanks for the fashion advice. I am going shopping with my sister tonight so hopefully, I will find something. I already have the boots so that is a step in the right direction. Tuesday should be fun. I am seriously bumming because I will be at my company's regional dinner that night and not home celebrating with the family. Even worse is that I will be in your neck of the woods and can't get away to say hi. :sad2: Another time right?

Thanks to everyone for the defunking well wishes. I am getting there - really.

OK - challenge results (can't wait to read about all of yours)
strength training - 3 days
cardio - 2 days
stayed pretty much on plan with a few slip ups along the way (like pizza for lunch yesterday)
weight lost - 1.5 pounds

I am heading out with my sister tonight so I won't be checking in until later.

Have a great night everyone,
Paula

GREAT results! Awesome!

Yes, our 6-week challenge is officially over. WE RULE!

Let's start another one on Monday, k? What should it be? How long? This one was 6 weeks--did that seem too long? What are some goals/events that people have coming up?

For me, I have the cruise. 8 weeks. And I need to be AWESOME for that, right? So that is what I am working toward.

Everyone...post what you are working toward. A vacation, a reunion or party, or just summer, etc. (or ahem, a FAIR, just sayin') And I will design a challenge around that.

April 26th. 5k. That's what I'm working towards. Then, 4 weeks after that, Memorial Day. Bikini day!

I think the next one should go until Apr 25th, which is the weekend of the race for Liz and I. Which I registered for today. :)

Or, we could do Easter?

E, glad that Riley came through it with no issues!!

Liz, have fun at pizza night. Mmmm, pizza.

Amy, I am with you on the tracking... I think I am going to loosen up some, and track and weigh, but as a cumulative weekly average and not as obsessive as I have been? Not sure yet, though, still working it out in my head.

Tonight for me is Yuengling and popcorn for dinner. And I am going to enjoy every bit of it. I had my large salad, and yogurt/fiber one, and hummus on a cracker, for lunch, so I feel like I got my healthy in.

My beer quest from last week has decided me on Yuengling, for now. 130 cals and decent, if not great.

Yes, race! Race! Race! Whee!!!!

Okay... back to beer. Where is that handy guide to beer info? I need to prepare for Tuesday, aka High Holy Day.

For me just summer in general. Would LOVE LOVE LOVE to be under 170 by my birthday, which is May 2nd, but I am thinking a more realistic date would be memorial day. And continuing to work towards a sub 30 5k.

Six weeks might have been a little long but I would not be opposed to doing another one that length.

I'm still trying to look good for last years fair!

Challenge. Yeah.

If the next challenge were put to a vote, I'd go shorter. Like month to month. But whatevs. It's not like I'm gonna take it serious anyway.
