In Search of My Body....Not the One I ATE! Vol. 5: Goddesses are Always on Top!

So we are off to WDW for a couple nights tomorrow. Staying at CBR. Not exactly thrilled about that but we got a good rate so that's ok. We won't be in the room much anyhow. It should be fun and DH and I will be able to get out a bit on our own. We so need it. What we really need is a weekend away on our own, but a night out will be good too. DH said there is some band playing at Raglan. Flogging Molly or something??

I'll probably be back later on. Just so you can all hate me, I am currently sitting outside with the laptop enjoying a glass of sangria!! :lmao: :rotfl2:

Have fun Amy!!!! That's so nice. :lovestruc

Hey! 25 more pounds? Really? Okay, I guess you know and I should shut up.

Oh where where. :confused3 My facebook stalled on the school info part. Where cutie? Let me go back and check it all.

:lmao: Nancy you're in my thoughts right now. :lmao: We are such twins.

Lisa - it's all good. Your email search had already picked me up. I'm in.
FB has a bit of a learning curve, or it did for me. Email me and I'll try to help
if you have a question.

Liyz you have to help me NOW!!!:scared1:

My head is about to explode with all the techno stuff. And with the FB.

My cutie is there. And my cutie niece, Jean's niece, is already there. WTH - how so fast? I'm so confused.

My head, my head - my aching head.

What do I do to say hi to you Lyz? :rolleyes1

Oh crap. I was about to take a huge step and put single on my FB profile and then I remembered Jean and I told all the older nieces and nephews but not the younger ones - one of which is on - so I can't yet.

Hmmm big step will have to wait.

But one of the older ones who knows all, Jean's side, says "Auntie Lisa" on facebook. Aaaah I love that. I love them so.

Life works out somehow, eh? You love and be honest and it stays.

Lisa - the reason so many are there already, I *think* is because it did an automatic email search, and it found matches. I am in your email address book, it found me on fb and asked me automatically to be your friend. And EriKa and Liz and Kat... We all accepted. I don't know who else is in your address book.

I see you found out about walls.

Thanks I have many questions. I won't clog this thread with them. Thanks Lyz.

Oh, I forgot one other reason why I am not into low carb anymore (and likely never will again). For me anyhow, and this is TMI, I wind up NOT happy intestinally. Like, almost painfully so. My body evidently needs the higher fiber counts....

Peeing in public is an art that is misunderstood by many. It takes skill, stealth and a good lookout person. :lmao:

Please divulge the bands which are the object of your contempt. I play guitar and so I'm really weird about music and bands. I also have this artist thing where I consider some music to be true art and some of it to be pop culture BS. So, my interest is piqued as to your band hatred. popcorn::

Oh and you're entitled to your opinions on music, so if you dislike the band and someone else likes them, well that's just too bad for them! :thumbsup2

so true about peeing. Wow, we're sooo classy, aren't we?

Bands. My two least favorite bands are Nickelback and Coldplay. I could go on and on about both of them. Both very popular, both sell a lot of records, etc. I think Chad Kroger is trying to rip off the 80's, in a bad way, and Chris Martin is a pompous poser. Honestly. There you go. And that's me being nice. I've got some great analogies for both bands (Chris Martin thinks he's Bono fronting Radiohead) but in the end, I just think they are hacks.

Now, I do know all the words to "Rock Star" and "Fix You". But I also know all the words to almost every Barry Manilow and Tom Jones song. So what?

I'm not a snob in that I think all pop is bad. I love Fergie's stuff, and the new Britney tracks make me want to dance. Beyonce. You need club music, you need running music, and God knows you need whatever band or song is going to get you through the day, run, sh$t year. I am friends with cheesy. It's not about that.

Okay, diatribe over. Talk to me about music offline. :thumbsup2

Also, Roddy, what do you want your song to be?

Does anyone NOT have a theme song? The mix is being made. This weekend. With my free time.

Anyway, to this day, I blame low carb for RUINING my shape. Really. Yes, ultimately it was ME and what I CHOSE to eat, but I thought I was doing the right thing. And I ended up with that dreaded SBF! (For those not on volume one, SBF is that awful side-back-fat.) And I still have it TODAY. Because those fat grams had to go somewhere. And that is where they went and there is NO F'ING WAY to work out that particular part of my body. It will only come off with overall weight loss and overall toning.

You had me at "side back fat". No thank you!

Wow Erika - that's absolutely fascinating to read. Really. Wow. My goodness.

I have a friend who wants to go back to low carb. But I question the rational thought process. She always says, "I lost tons of weight on it". And I think, "but you gained lots of weight when you came off". She would probably say "well this time I'll stay on". To which I would question why she came off - as in LIFE. Life naturally brought her off. Why wouldn't it again?

Once again my ongoing determination "if I'll do it ten years from now - I'll do it now while I'm losing". Just hit and miss. Hit and miss but slowly on the way down.

I found a fabulous quote and I've lost it. It was Oprah's trainer. He said what people don't realize that success is simply just keep going - see what works for you and sooner or later you'll find what clicks. I've wrecked the quote but he was trying to say that success isn't running to goal.

Thanks for that Erika. So flippin' fascinating.

So true, Lisa. LIFE. Darn life!

Bob Greene. Yes, he says that. Success is to keep going.

Also,

Erika. :lmao: :rotfl: My eyes widened with your post about J and his travelling and your marriage.I loved it. I always joke with Jean, but I'm 100% serious, that I need a man who goes on business trips. I so need that. :lmao: It's like I see that as winning the lottery. I so crave me alone time.

Maybe I should go and walk the financial district. :lmao: Or hang out at the island airport - gosh pilots too. :lmao: Or crash a truck driving school. :rotfl:

Okay, I'm giddy. Supposed to get to 16 (61) today. Nothing like a fake spring to make one giddy. 2 on Monday. :lmao:

Giddy, giddy, giddy.

Yes, find someone who has a life outside of you. Like, standing weekends with the guys, a travel schedule...time apart is a beautiful thing. Otherwise, how do you know what you're missing?

Hey all...

So much to catch up on here. I have had a busy week!

Challenge stuff for me

Core:2/2

Running: other than my races, none, so 2/4

Tracking 3/3 (includes today)

Weight:DOWN another 1/2 pound to 185. Very happy about this since while I have been tracking this week, I've been high on the calories thanks to the beer/wine. So 3/5 for the challenge. I am still feeling so bloated though. TOM is gone and I have been chugging water so I am not sure what is going on.:confused3 maybe too much salt somewhere??:confused3

Booze : obviously off the wagon. what is everyone's fave light beer? I hate to go there because I am a beer snob, but it might be something I need to do for awhile.

Erika- Really interesting to read about your low carb diet. I did SBD in 2004, lost like 12 pounds or so the first 2 weeks and steadily lost another 18 in a couple months after that. BUT I was not strict about it after a point and gained it back so quick. I mean it took me forever to lose 30 pounds in the last year, but it came off so much slower that I am hoping it will stay off. I am SO SO tempted to do it again for a jump start for my last 25 pounds, but I don't think I am going to go there.

So we are off to WDW for a couple nights tomorrow. Staying at CBR. Not exactly thrilled about that but we got a good rate so that's ok. We won't be in the room much anyhow. Amy, i read your status on FB and wanted to DIE. So jealous!

Um, Flogging Molly is playing???????!!!!!!!

Lucky!!!! They are very good! You should listen to them!!!!!!!!!!!

Light beer. Eh. It's all just eh to me.

Liz- DH heard about the flogging molly thing on a local alternative station. I think we'll try to check it out. I mean, I don't know if we could get in, but even if we sat outside we could probably hear them.

I hate coldplay. OMG. I love the piano in "clocks" but that's about it. Nickelback is okay. SIL had their newest CD and I listened to it. Very interesting lyrics to some of the songs. My latest music obsessions are foo fighters and jimmy eat world, all american rejects. And this song that I heard on guitar hero world tour. It's called rooftops or something..I love it. And resolution by Jack's Mannequin. I also have some Flo Rida on my shuffle.

I don't know if I have a song or not.

So quiet around here right now. Delena is taking a nap and so is MIL.

I am on my second glass of sangria. I will be drunk before DH gets home!!

I will so pull the kid out of school and take turns watching yours. Let's go.

I swear, if it wouldn't mess up my marriage, I would go in a heartbeat. But with where J is at right now...:scared1: He is just a MESS due to this economy and he can't snap out of it. Honestly, I have never seen him so miserable. Nothing to do with me/us. Just life. He is nervous about his job and the fact that we just bought a second home. And he is panicking over money. Mind you, neither of us has lost our jobs and I just picked up a new contract. So we are making more right now than we were a couple of months ago. But he had a full on anxiety attack when I mentioned taking the kids to the movies. Like seriously, the man is in an all out panic over spending $20. I would understand this if money was tight for us. But it isn't, at least not yet. (knock on wood) Sad.

The only bad thing about FL right now is the tree pollen. Luckily I am not bothered by it. DH is though and his allergy meds make him feel really draggy.

A day like today is the reason I live here.

The piano is very pretty in "Clocks". And I really do like "Fix You" because sometime I am having one of those poignant moments. kwim?

Foo Fighters is a great band. I have heard good things about Jack's Mannequin - did you know SM wrote the script for one of their videos??? And really, who doens't love Flo Rida? Come on!

It's not the lyrics, per se. You know, not the subject matter, I mean. So yes, I hate their lyrics, I think a 5th grader could have written them. But i don't hate the subject matter. Public Enemy just does degrading women better. Beastie Boys. Eminem. I could go on and on. And not just rap. Anyhoo. I default to major music discussions. But again, these two are my BFFs fav bands, so obviously I don't judge just on music. Taste in books AND music. :rotfl:

Did I ever tell you about the time I flew to Detroit last minute to see Eminem? Awesome.

Liz-- Do listen to Vampire Weekend at all?? I think I had hear that about SM. I believe it was the script for their song "resolution". Love that song. I have Eminem on my shuffle too. I have also been listening to relient K, which up until a month or so ago I had no idea that they were a religious/christian group. Not that it matters, It was just interesting.

so true about peeing. Wow, we're sooo classy, aren't we?

You know, many people seem to confuse talking openly and being crude. I talk openly most of the time, but, I try to keep away from being crude. We're classy, there's no doubt. :thumbsup2

Does anyone NOT have a theme song? The mix is being made. This weekend. With my free time.

I agree with your take on the bands. I used to like Coldplay and I still listen to the 'Parachutes' and 'A Rush of Blood to the head' stuff. But, yeah. I don't know, it's like some of these bands start off good when they're new then they get popular and it all goes to hell. But, to avoid a long post I'll just say that my taste is music is unique. I don't like pop stuff generally, but I can't fault somebody for liking pop stuff because sometimes you do need to dance and now and then they'll have a good song. I don't really have favorite bands as much as I like songs. I'll hate a band for some reason, but they'll have a good song and I'll listen to it. I like some of Björk's songs for crying out loud.

I'll have to get back to you on the theme song. I'll have to put some thought into it. :lmao:

Light beer. Eh. It's all just eh to me.

Unfortunately, me too. I am trying to like it and failing.

However, there are a few "regular" beers that aren't too bad for you, like in the 120-140 cal range. Corona, Yuengling, Molson Canadian, are 3 that come to mind. Too bad I like my beers dark, though...

I am going to go through a calorie/taste exercise later this afternoon, as I could use a few tonight. I will let you both know where it comes out.

I will so pull the kid out of school and take turns watching yours. Let's go.

Can you pick me up on the way?

Although, it is supposed to be 80 here both days this weekend. :)

The only bad thing about FL right now is the tree pollen. Luckily I am not bothered by it. DH is though and his allergy meds make him feel really draggy.

A day like today is the reason I live here.

Yeah, our pollen will be starting soon. The first year I was down here, I was like WT F?? Went to the allergist, and she suggesting starting a claritin or allegra regimen a few weeks before pollen season, to build up the levels of antihistamine. It was worked every year now, and thankfully they make OTC generic versions of claritin now. (... remembers to take hers. )

OMG, I need to be in Florida. Need. to. be.

You should go. DVC - the reason to buy it. :lovestruc Off you go.

I will so pull the kid out of school and take turns watching yours. Let's go.

Good idea.

Nothing to do with me/us. Just life. .

Such a smart woman.

Oh by the way - forgot to say. I loved the past posts. So lovely to read them. Thanks Erika.

Liz - I had a tear in my eye reading about the 40 pounds. Great timing. See where you are. See where you are Liz.
