In Search of My Body....Not the One I ATE! Vol. 5: Goddesses are Always on Top!

Yes, I do totally love, love, love my chocolate. A definite weakness. I can pass up chips and stuff like that all day long. But chocolate anything...cake, chocolate chip cookies, brownies. Those are definitely my weaknesses. And while I love ice cream, I am able to have it in the house and not eat it.

Hey all - sorry still MIA - i've been in term paper/special project hell for the past few weeks, the paper will be finished sometime this weekend so then I should be back amongst the living

E- i was down 1 lb for the week, but i was up 2 the week before, so i think that still leaves me at up 1

Hi Stacey!

Those are definitely my weaknesses. And while I love ice cream, I am able to have it in the house and not eat it.

Yes, it's coming back to me now. You got a present from Karen that was of that end, yes?

Me too on the ice cream. Can have it sit.

ok. Back to catch up on the rest of the thread!

I am checking in. I'm not very peppy right now. Likely a combination of things - TOM, didn't sleep well last night, rain, rain, rain. I ran W8D3 this morning. I made it, but I think I have now had a "bad run". Couldn't wait for it to end. Didn't feel as though I accomplished much. Slow - blech.

The afternoon really dragged on. My work is not particularly fulfilling and all I seem to think about is the chocolate on Brenda's desk. Luckily Brenda is a floor above me, but it's a low barrier.

DGF's job is safe - for now. Two people in her office lost their job (of 13). I say for now because there's no sign that next year's budget will improve. With that settled we are planning a trip to the Gulf coast. Driving (ugh, two days) with DGF's nieces (19 and 17). Staying in Destin a few nights and then to her brother's near Mobile for a couple nights before driving home. The girls are great. One is finishing her junior year of HS and the other is a college freshman. They are excited to be going with us! We're cool again!

I'm going to bed early and putting the day behind me. I may soak in the tub first though. That always helps!

Ronda

Ronda: Don't let the bad run get you down. We all have craptastic runs sometimes and next time will be much better. I promise. :goodvibes Glad to hear that DGF job is safe. Scary times.

Nancy: Love all the goat names!

Erika: I hope the doctor can help you tomorrow. That sucks.

Lyz: Yes, total suckfest about the AC. But I am over it because we can't NOT fix it. And it will be good when we can sell the house in a few years. And we do have a pool. Which I can float around in this weekend with a ginormous drink which will make me forget about all the $$ spent fixing the AC.

I have been really snacktastic today. Nothing totally horrible, but just felt like I was eating all day. Yuck. On the plus side, I feel like my body is finally letting go of this month's TOM bloat.

Hey everybody!

Two very long days are finally over and things seem to be getting back to normal.

I will be back soon. I hope everybody is hanging in there!

ok. Back to catch up on the rest of the thread!

I love these! You need a Catcha Tiger Byhistoe.

/
Lyz - :yay: so glad to see you back today. Reester Bunnies? Sounds yummy!

Liz- Have a great time with Jodi.

Ronda - sorry your run was cruddy.

Kat - pushups! :worship:

Erika - I hope you get some relief soon.

Paula - Odessy this weekend? Hope it's relaxing.

Stacey - house? :confused3 where does that little project stand?

Steph - how are you filling your time now that the show is over?

Amy - I've been "snacky" today too. :headache: Annoying. And totally unnecessary.

LisaV - yes, we love 'em and eat 'em too. :rolleyes1 (don't tell E. or Lyz, k?)

Amy - Glad D's fever broke! Poor little sweetie princess:

LisaZ - Cadbury Eggs? :scared: In case you were wondering, I've been told they do NOT count as a protein. Go figure.

Dawn - hope recovery is going well in your house. Hey - and say "Hi" to Dan for us, k?

Roddy - where art thou?

Thanks for everyone's well wishes for Wakisha. (oh - Lisa - no, not a black woman - a SGWM ;)) She is indeed on the mend, and should be back to her usual self in another day or two. Thank GOD. Because we've had to bottle feed her babies. Now - when you take a baby that is accustomed to nursing and try to feed it a bottle? Sometimes it doesn't go over too well. We've been *fighting* with these two little ones (Paper & Scissors for those who are keeping score) trying to get them to drink. :sad2: I'm ready to return them to mom.
<sigh> Stephen is playing soccer tonight. I get to go wrestle babies by myself in a few minutes

I love these! You need a Catcha Tiger Byhistoe.

Cute. I like it.

The oddest name we ever had was "Finky Butterbuns". Nate was doing this whole Captain Underpants style "random word" thing and, well, yeah. That's what he came up with. We just called him Finky for short.

Forgot a few things...

Dawn-Um, when you get a minute you must post remodel pics. Before and in progess maybe??

Amiee--Glad your long days are over. Relax, rest, sleep...

Also wanted to thank everyone who posted their playlist last week. I needed some new ideas. In process of making a new playlist for my race on saturday. Need alot of energetic songs to get me up the causeway. That hill will kill any chance of a PR I am sure.

I hate cadbury eggs. yuck. I actually have issues with real eggs too. Cannot eat them. The closest I get to eating a cooked egg is french toast.

Nancy--love the names! Hi lar ious! Next time there are goat babies, can we pick the names? Please?? And how do you keep them all straight? Do they have little name tags somewhere?

Dawn--glad to hear that Carsyn's surgery is done and she is home. Now that you have that out of the way...PICS! PICS! PICS! (No, I won't stop. :rotfl2:)

Paula--hope all is well with the work scene. What are your week-end plans?

Liz--Have fun in VA! I might call. Don't screen me. :lmao:

Lyz--are you feeling ready for the show? I want details. Is the local news going to cover it? Will there be a webisode? I want to see!

Roddy--yeah, where the hell are you hiding? Come on out and play!'

Ronda--the fact that you had a crappy run just means that you are becoming a runner! :cool1: Embrace it and move on.

Stacey--great job on the loss! A pound is a pound!

Amy--sorry D is sick. What are the details about this week-end's race?

As for me--well, I am at a loss as to the cause the pain. But thanks so much for all of your well wishes! I am so hoping that it is just shoes. Honestly, that is the only thing I can think of since there has been no accident or injury of any kind. It has to just be a subtle changing of my gait and my muscles are rebelling. So, fingers crossed that I get some answers tomorrow and a whole vat of pain pills!

Off to catch up some more.

Erika - the work thing is getting better. I have moved from hurt, to anger and getting a bit closer towards acceptance. Gotta love the stages you go through right? Thanks for asking.

This weekend is the Odyssey state tournament - last one YEAH!!!! I am a little burnt out on Odyssey right now, but the State Tournament is always fun so I should be fine. Plus I am not judging, I am the one of the problem heads, so I'll be wandering from site to site making sure everything is running smoothly. There is a big hill between the sites so lots of good cardio for me!

I have tomorrow off and am training at 7:00AM (what the hell was I thinking? Jesse is going to be way too awake for me!) Then I head to Binghamton later in the morning and am having lunch with a former co-worker so that will be fun. The rest of the weekend is doing Odyssey stuff, so I won't have much time to check in here. I'll be back on Sunday night though.

Have a great weekend everyone and Liz - have fun in Williamsburg!!!!

Later,
Paula

Ah, guys I have been talking too much tonight to quote all that I want.

I hope tomorrow is a payday Friday for you. Hope you have a little change in your pocket going gingle lingle ling.

Liz ~ have fun in VA.

Paula ~ have fun at state.

E ~ um, have fun at the doc? Sorry I was on a roll! I hope you find out what's wrong and that it is easily fixable.

Nancy ~ Fernando, that sounds like a good goat name.

Amy ~ Lil D - Is she getting her spunk back?

Hi Everybody else! I'm sorry that I am neglecting ~ long, rough week will be back to normal tomorrow around 7pm Central time.

Happy Friday everyone.

The gym went well yesterday. Shelby did not go feigning soreness. The other 2 girls did really good and hopped on the bikes for their cardio afterward, no pushing necessary. I got a good 3 miles in and then got home and David wanted to go for a bike ride so another 3.44 on top of that on the bike. I skipped the hills due to the bike ride. Spending time is more important than hill repeats...right...

I am still not having a great time here. Mike is ready to leave Shelby and I alone on this trip and stay home to work on a barn and go to his sister's birthday burn party/drunk fest. He is upset about his upcoming work season and it is coming out as we are traveling too much and spending too much money, not saving for the future, and on and on. Life here is just not good right now. I am trying to hold it all together with the miles and miles of training but every night I am ready to cry.

Sorry about the chiropractor suggestion too. My SIL is a therapist and is extremely anti-chiro also. All I know is it makes ME feel better and I guess we feel compelled to suggest those things that make us happy when someone is not. :confused3 My bad, maybe my foot in my mouth will help with the week long fight with Mike. :sad2:

Liz, sending extra :wizard::hug::wizard: to you and your family. I hope things look up for you soon. You make me feel selfish for being upset with my own life right now. You have more to deal with then most and keep on going. :worship:

Nancy, love the goat names. We are surely not that creative around here.

Paula, glad that work is going better. Good luck this weekend.

I can't remember anything else right now. My brain is cloudy and I apologize. Off for the weekend and I will have to report back in on Monday. Stay strong everyone!!! :flower3:

Oh, honey. Major hugs on the home front situation. I so feel you. Not the running, but the feeling. It's so hard to do what you want/need to when you get that pressure. Remember you have a right to do this. Okay?

Thank you all for the love and support. I am heading to the gym to do my weight class, and I hope C25K W2 D3. I am tired, though, so I am going to see how I feel after the weight class.

I'm all packed and my car is ready to go - just kids drop off, gym, and shower! Jodi has her in depth 20 week sonogram this morning, so she will be ready to head out after that. She is feeling better knowing the baby is still there and growing!

So, thank you again. I am going into the weekend fully on track, and I have your support to thank for that. Xoxo.

Thank you for all the well wishes for Carsyn. (Nancy - Dan says hi back!)

She went to school yesterday but off today again. The tunneling procedure went accross her lower back and where the lead comes out is on her right side. The lead literally just comes out of her skin and has a few inches of extra that coils on her side so it does not pull out and can move back and forth freely inside her body.

Since it is an "open wound" her sitting in class in a desk and leaning against a back of a chair all day caused it to rub more than lying down and it bled quite a bit.

Doc says to take today off. She slept from 4:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. yesterday and the best news is the machine seems to be doing the trick! No accidents and I am so excited for this for her.

Baylor went to eye Dr yesterday because his eye was all red. The doc flipped his eyelid and somehow the kid got dirt bike riding under his top eyelid. Scraped it out and this morning it is still red and irratated so we head back for a "double inversion" eyelid roll which we have been told will not hurt but more invasive than just rolling the lower half of the upper eyelid. Good times.

I am always glad my kids are outdoors kids but it also means more crazy minor stuff like this.

I will post pics today if I can. Carsyn can help. Paula - never thought of where the dishes would have to be washed. Packing them all away today. Paper plates are usually a sin around here - but sin away is heading this direction!

Carsyn picked out "sassy green" for a big portion of the kitchen/dining room and I was iffy at first but now am in love with it. It will look so different once the cabinets and flooring is all in. It does remind me of the 1970's vintage Tupperware colors. Harvest Gold, avocado green, burnt brown. that is my house now - but with the tuscan/french wine country themed colors and pics - it will all come together (I hope!)

E - hope you feel better soon and that Kel is not having any infections.
Amy - sorry that you are needinga house repair.
Paula - enjoy your weekend.
Liz - spoil yourself a bit for me would you.
Lyz - hope the show grows your biz huge and I am peanut butter/chocolate freak as well
LisaV - get a date already! You are hot and funny and smart - you are a trifecta!
Lisa Pr - love reading your posts!

BTW: the new church we have been sampling the past month - the pastors are DVC members. I knew I liked them!:rotfl:

We changed up a bit of where the fridge will be in the kitchen. so more moving of furniture last night to get the best estimate. Keeping the appliances where they were would have still meant being butt to butt when someone stood at the sink and someone stood at the stove. Not fun. Like the new flow better and it brought the fridge into the old dining area better which did make it seem to blend more.

Lots to do today - be prepared the pics may alarm you! You have no idea how bad the kitchen was.:scared1:

Everyone else!

Great to hear that Carsyn is doing better. I was surprised that she went back to school soon. Can't wait to see before and after pics of your renovations!

Oh, I don't think you had time to see this yet, but I posted this question to you a few days ago ~

What are your insulin levels? I'm curious to see how far you have to get to normal and I might be able to help you with a time line if we are similar in range.

Dawn, I am so sorry that I forgot to say I am happy for Carsyn and I truly hope this surgery works for her (and you) to make her life better! I feel like such a butt. I cannot wait to see the kitchen remodel either. I finally moved my fridge with our last flooring change so that the fridge door was not blocking my way to the dinner table while someone was looking for something right in front of their face!!! :rolleyes1

Hi team--I know I have been totally self-absorbed and I am sorry for it.

LisaPR--please don't apologize for giving me the chiro advice! It is what anyone would suggest. My family is just freakish about it. I have tons to say about you and Mike and your training, but right now I will leave it with...you are SO SO SO amazing. Really. Look at all you do for your kids! Talk about hands-on parenting! And that you train and make healthy eating a priority on top of that? Incredible. So take the moral high road on this one. Mike is being an a$$--but that isn't personal. He is genetically predisposed to act that way! :rotfl2: Seriously, you are a rock star on so many fronts!

School just called again. Third time this week for Kel. Renal pain. Honestly, I am at the absolute end of my rope. Between taking care of my dad, Kel being out of remission, me being injured. I am just done.

Again, sorry to ignore everyone else.

xoxox

Erika, I give your post right back at you. You are amazing too. Don't give up, better days are ahead. :goodvibes
