HEY!
I am back home today, thankfully! We had a great time on the boat...saw the fireworks with a perfect view right from the water. Kids loved it. We did not have Nancy and Liz's weather issues....absolutely PERFECT weather for 4 days in a row now. Bright and sunny with no humidity. Perfect.
LIZ--loving the hair! Very fun! Good length for you. The t-shirt is super flattering on your new skinny self. (And I noticed both the t AND the wine!

Not sure what that says about me!)
GREAT job with the running (and with the clavicles! That had me ROARING!) AMAZING that you are influencing Nick! That is awesome! And good job making the running shoe store your first stop! You have learned well, young grasshopper!
Yes, Jeff and I have turned into one of "those" couples. We plan our week-ends around our runs, etc. (Like he is running now, then when he gets back he will cook breakfast while I run...and it will be ready when I get back, etc. Later today we are going biking together.) Ok, so it will be more of a brunch today...we are all exhausted and 2 of the kids are still asleep!
LYZ--it is totally ok...you can and will get back on it. I am starting fresh again today as well. Focus on the fact that you did well for A WEEK! That is great!
With all of these week-ends away, I have been off program more than on.
My new challenge is to learn to stay ON program when I am away like that. It does no good to be on for 3 or 4 days then off for the next 3 or 4. I have to stop with the excuses of "it's a holiday..." or "well, we are away on vacation this week...." and so on. Just because it is summer does not mean I can gorge every day and have it not "count". My a$$ knows that it counts!
STEPH--cute hair for you as well! And thanks for Zac's pic! Cute!
KAT--hope you are having fun in the Burgh.
DAWN--great pics of Trey. That is how they do senior pics here as well. I like both of the B&W ones.
NANCY--what is up with the weather there? Are you having a good week without the kids?
So, we got off the boat yesterday evening, threw our gear in the mudroom, dumped the kids with my parents and ran off to see a concert. It was a REALLY good show (Assembly of Dust, Liz...you would like them. Great jam band and I love their lyrics.) It was an outdoor show and the weather was perfect for the evening. We were up very close and had a great time. We felt like grown-ups and not just parents, you know?
But now we have to pay! OMG, the house is a major disaster. We have had 3 weeks of tearing around the house packing like crazy, coming home and doing laundry, then just re-packing and taking off again...only to come back and dump it all out again. The lawn is a wreck, the house is filthy and there is dust everywhere! So that is my plan for the day...run, clean this house, bike, and then get to the pool for a quick dip in the late afternoon. Kids are just going to have to deal. They have had tons of special activities in the last few weeks. Today we just say to go outside and play.
