Agreed. But a point is a point (calorie is a calorie) right? I'd rather have the...

No, this is where I have to disagree and what got me into trouble. I can't eat junk points (calories). I was sticking to my points religiously and eating the treat stuff...no good. I need healthy points.

I was able to lose a great portion of my weight with the "a point is a point" philosophy. However, as I get closer and closer to my goal weight I find that is no longer true for me...:sad2: Some days, I'd love to eat all my points in chocolate chip cookies and ice cream...but I just can't...:sad2:

Nah, that would be Nancy....:rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

hee hee! Isn't that another one of those "pot calling the PETTLE" black moments???? :rotfl2: I definitely have compulsive tendancies when it comes to exercise :rolleyes1 But that's because I love to EAT so much! I'm looking into a bike event on June 1st - fundraiser for MS....they have 25, 50 & 100 mile options. I'm up for the 25 I think...50 ? I don't think I'm quite ready for that just yet...:scared1: We'll see - have to check schedules with the family to see if it's even feasible logistically...

Maybe that is my issue then, since I only have a bit left to lose....???

Well, well...looks who's right full of sass today! :lmao: :rotfl2:

Give yourself (and your a$$) a break and do the 25! :rotfl2:

Give yourself (and your a$$) a break and do the 25! :rotfl2:

Speaking of giving my a$$ a break  ....I gotta get me some of those padded bike shorts. I'm dreading it, because they make even the skinniest of bodies look like they have a diaper on...my "fleshy" self is gonna look ridiculous!

Tell me about it! That is one of the reasons I have yet to start biking...:rolleyes1

Hi you guys, I just got a voicemail from Liz and she asked me to post for her.

She is away being all glamorous at some swanky event that she will tell us ALL about when she returns.

The sad news is that she will be away from the board for a day or two. :sad2:

But the ULTRA, incredible, AMAZING news is that she is DOWN ANOTHER 3 POUNDS!

Yes, 3 pounds!

She also sends her thanks for our support and encouragement and helping to combat the Greenies out there!

She is awesome...and of course, a goddess! I am even giving her my purple for the occasion! See? I can play well with others!

Love you, girl, and I am so proud of you again this week!

Liz has her iPhone with her, so she can see us/read us and check e-mails, but posting from an iPhone is the pits.

So go ahead and tell her how awesome she is, cause she will be checking! :goodvibes

Ok...this is unacceptable! :lmao:

Let's see if I can figure this out...

...Liz is in Atlantic City being a DIVA

...Lyz is enriching the minds of 4th graders

...Dawn is being a tupperware goddess

...Nancy is out riding her new bike

...Jodi is walking from here to Kingdom come!

...Paula is packing

...Kat is back in work hell (or still there...seems she is there way too often! )

...Kim is MIA...where are you???

...Stacey is in wedding-planning stress hell

And that leaves me here...alone...no friends to play with...:sad1:

EriKa, I agree. It's ridiculous. Where in the heck is everybody? It's making me sad. I think this might be the unfortunate effect of spring/summer coming. I need to brace myself.

Weeeelllllllll, I don't really have any room to talk. My theory hasn't been put to the test lately.

I'm actually gaining weight. ARRRRRRGH. It's my fault. I am a procrastinator, I am going to be SO PISSED OFF WHEN THE FAIR GETS HERE. I'm gonna be HOT, and FAT.

Nah, that would be Nancy....:rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Uhhh, actually it'd be BOTH of you. Please, oh please, send me a vile of blood so I can catch the exercise bug.

If she did freaking 17 miles her first day, whew, I'd say 25 will be no problem.

Liz. Great job on the weight loss. You purple goddess. (I'm marking this on your record EriKa, good job.)

And Liz, while that's great you lost weight, you are still in trouble for not telling us ahead of time about this swanky event your going to. I need full disclosure. K? Have fun. And take pictures to share.

My money is on, blue, sleeveless dress, blue HIGH heels with open toe, french pedicure, hair up, pink shiny lip gloss. (I know black is the obvious choice, but I see Liz in blue.)

Ok...this is unacceptable! :lmao:

Let's see if I can figure this out...

...Liz is in Atlantic City being a DIVA (momasita)

...Lyz is enriching the minds of 4th graders (done for this week. I'm now back and ready to act like a 4th grader.)

...Dawn is being a tupperware goddess (ka-ching)

...Nancy is out riding her new bike (sore pink parts)

...Jodi is walking from here to Kingdom come! (Jodi, quit harassing the construction workers!)

...Paula is packing (and tossing. time to purge Paula)

...Kat is back in work hell (or still there...seems she is there way too often! ) (true that. Miss you Kitty Kat.)

...Kim is MIA...where are you??? (she's buying a van, "down by the river")

...Stacey is in wedding-planning stress hell (can anyone say, BrideZilla (LOVE that show))

And that leaves me here...alone...no friends to play with...:sad1:

and all the others who are not posting. Did I do something to offend. Was it my very poor spelling skills? Is it the fact, that I'll make fun of anything? (My own mother isn't safe. But she knows that. ) Come out, come out where ever you are.

I have no idea why, but that edited comment had me BELLY laughing! OMG...my dog is looking at me like I am nuts...sitting here alone in my office just roaring...

Ok, wish me (well, Kelly really) luck today. I have to take her to school today and we find out if they are going to skip her a grade (it has been the plan for the last year, but now they have to go through the formal process). They are putting her through two hours of testing and screening. Poor kid. She is going to be wiped.

And then for the rest of the day I am taking kids to sports...

3-4 Soccer for Cam
4-5 Tennis both Riley and Cam
6-7:30 Softball for Cam (boy, she is worse than me and Nancy combined when it comes to exercise!)
6:30 -7:30 Softball for Kel

Well, at least I won't be eating...

Good morning ladies and gents...

I have been a busy gal this week... between work, packing and now that its spring, my golf clubs are calling, there hasn't been much time for posting... Bad Goof... Bad Goof....

The bad news is that I stress ate my way through my 3 pound loss from last week and am now back to where I started.... :confused3 One of these days I'll get this emotional eating thing under control...

The good news is that I am making progress on my packing. I have uncovered a few more square feet of floor in my bedroom and have purged a few bags of clothes already. It is amazing how much crap one person can accumulate in just a few years...

Did I mention I am golfing again.... YEAH!!!! I go through fits of loving and hating this game, but it is a great way to shut the world out and just enjoy some zen time outdoors. I am making an effort to hit the driving range every night before I get home and I am going to play my first round this weekend and am planning on walking as much of the course as I can without exhausting myself. I was reading in my Golf for Women magazine that the average women burns about 290 calories per hour playing golf while walking the course (take about 50 calories off if you use a cart). Considering that the average 9 hole round takes between 2-3 hours, I am amazed at the calories I can burn doing something I love. I even found a challenge both in the magazine and on their website to improve my game and my fitness level to support my game. They have exercises developed to work the arms/chest/shoulders/legs/back by focusing on one or two areas a day. I am going to be starting these tonight. I need to develop strength in my upper body and the only way to do that is through strength training. Needless to say, I am so energized now for golf season that I am hoping to get in the exercise I need for my body while working to improve my game...

Erika - glad to hear your workout went well yesterday... After your tennis story, I wasn't sure if you would still be able to walk... oh - and after seeing that schedule, I will stop complaining about mine... yikes...

Liz - um... DETAILS PLEASE... No going all out and not sharing... that's plain not nice....

Lyz – welcome back from the land of the 4th graders… we use big words here…

Dawn – I did get your message on Saturday… I will give you a call tonight or tomorrow I promise…. I want to hear the funny story you wanted to share….

Nancy – how are the padded shorts working for you?

Jodi – I think I may have to start calling you Forrest Gump with all of the walking you are doing…

Kat – stop and take a breath from all the stress…. We miss you…

Kim…. Kim…. Where are you???

Stacey – breathe… I know the wedding is getting close, but despite what stress all of the planning is causing you try to remember that you are marrying the man of your dreams that day and frankly – isn’t that all that really matters….

Love you all… now - where is my 7 iron...

Ahh yes, sports are racheting up. Maddi's dance school has "the recital" next week. Two things:

1. They tried their costumes on about a month ago. The teacher told the girls they could tell their mommy's what the costume looked like or keep it a secret. Guess what Madeline is doing? Yep, I have no clue. I keep trying to trick her into telling me. Nothing. She's not biting. She now just tells me "yes."

Is it green? Yes.
Is it blue? Yes.
Is it clear? Yes.
And she just laughs. Thinks it's too funny. I find out Friday at dress rehersal.

2. "The Dance Recital." Never. In. Your. Whole. Life. have you seen grown women act like this. The doors open at 5:30, and it is a stampede for a seat and the the other 3, you are "allowed to save." I literally take my mom to hold spots so I can go glam Maddi up. (I've been doing this since Molli was 3, so no biggie, but I give the lowdown to newbies, that I know.) It's like dining at CRT, you've got to have a stragety.

Here's hoping for the latter.... I am good with the former...:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Good luck getting out of fax hell.... I hate it when people do that...

goof

So I brought Kelly in for screening and they sent me home...said come back at the end of the day and get all 3 of them at regular pick up time! WOW--all 3 of my kids in one place at the same time...is it too early for cocktails??? :lmao:

I'm actually gaining weight. ARRRRRRGH. It's my fault. I am a procrastinator, I am going to be SO PISSED OFF WHEN THE FAIR GETS HERE. I'm gonna be HOT, and FAT.[/COLOR]

You still have time you know....start with changing one thing. Water? Walking? Cutting out eating at night? Pick one.

And Liz, while that's great you lost weight, you are still in trouble for not telling us ahead of time about this swanky event your going to. I need full disclosure. K? Have fun. And take pictures to share.

Seriously...I mean...when did this come up and why were we not consulted? As for the outfit...crazy psycho woman that Liz is (hey, she's not here, we'll say what we want! :rotfl2: ) e-mailed me 3 different pics of her in different outfits so she could decide what to wear! HI LAR IOUS.

Good luck Kelly! (going straight to 2nd grade? why the skippage? needing some details.)

Actually it would be straight to first grade. Long story. She misses the cut-off (state law) by like 3 or 4 weeks...and so we put her in private K this year (when technically she should be in pre-school still)...and she really took off.

Plus, being the youngest of 3, she is hell on wheels and not a bit shy and more comfortable with older kids than younger. She is just ready, that's all. And they agree with me that she is ready, but they are hesitant to do it b/c they are worried about the precedent it will set....now every parent who thinks that their little darling is the next Doogie Houser (sorry, I am dating myself, I know...:rotfl2: ) will demand that their child be skipped, too.

Wow, it's been so quiet the past few days!!! Went and signed the paperwork for the new Townhouse last night, so i'm officially moving the weekend of June 27-29 :scared1: That's right, 10 days after i get home from the honeymoon.... :sad2:

I think the wedding planning is FINALLY in the final stages, where i start to relax and breathe a bit.... i hope!

Poor grandpa is still in a lot of pain, we find out tomorrow if it's the C word or not.... :guilty:

OMG you crazy ladies have been up to a lot! Walking, Runnin Races, Biking crazy distances, SHEESH! I need to get up off my lazy butt!

I wish i had something interesting to say, but some of the girls at work are out this week so it's just been work, work, work, work, eat, work, sleep, work, eat.... i'm starting to feel like Kat :rolleyes1

Oh, so much to tell you!

Where should I start? The weight? The nasty lady I called out at the gym today? The Mother's Day Tea at Emily's school? Or maybe the shindig last night? ;)

Wow. This has backstory, so bear with me!

My mother-in-law's best friend is MP. MP has been part of my life for the last 12 years, and so have her kids. Her daughter Elizabeth and I are close - she and Nick grew up together, she's his "quasi sister" and I am her "quasi sister in law" and MP calls me "the designated child" because we live in town and have the only grandchild among both families - my husband's and theirs. But as Nick is the oldest, there's hope yet. However, we will likely still be the only ones in town.

Anyhoo, for about 3 years I worked at the same non-profit as MP and we became friends in our own right. Even though she is my mil's bestest friend ever. We planned her daughter's wedding together (remember, they all think I should be a wedding planner?) and gossiped a lot and generally commiserated on the joys of this extended clan of friends who became family.

For the last 2 years she has been the state president for our state for the General Federation of Women's Clubs, which is quite a big deal, like a fulltime job, and it's volunteer. She had an office and several assistants and was basically the bomb. I went to her induction 2 years ago and last night ws the end of her administration, and the culmination of the last 30 years of her life, working towards this very high level of leadership. So I went down with my inlaws, her daughter, her son in law, and her husband.

It was very inspiring and emotional. You could see how effective her administration has been, and how well liked and respected she is. They did tremendous work, including raising over $600,000 for victims of domestic violence in our state. It was clear her leadership was to thank for this, even as she thanked the women who worked so hard for the last two years under her. She spoke about giving voices to the voiceless. It gave me chills.

I left with a renewed sense of respect for the organization, at a national and state level, and I felt very pumped by all those women of different ages and backgrounds working to help others - locally and nationally. Very powerful stuff, especially as survivors reach out to victims, turning the tide of their lives.

After saying all that it seems silly to show you my clothes, huh? :)

Well, here are Elizabeth and I:

If you want more, I will PM you my picture links!

And EriKA is part right - I did email her two pics of dresses I was considering, and then one of the one I wore, because I was so happy I could wear it without granny panties!!! :lmao: But thank you, friend, for opinions, advice, and posting!

Welcome Back! Glad the even went so well and you looked GREAT (in all of the dresses--:lmao: ). But that is only one story!

I want to hear about you calling someout out at the gym! That sounds good!

And Em's tea...I have to go to Kel's tomorrow. She wants me to wear a "party dress." Um, has she met me??? :lmao:

I am still in pain today. I tried to run and couldn't. I mean physically could NOT. So I did a core workout dvd instead. Not the same. And it is the first time I have missed a scheduled run since I started. I e-mailed me coach for advice, so I am waiting to hear. Tomorrow I have another BL workout with "the boys" and I plan to do that. It isn't much running and that really seems to be what hurts the most. Though just getting up out of my chair is also problem, so....

HOLY COW, Liz I just realized that you have LESS than 30 pounds to go! That is unbelievable!
