In search of my body...not the one I ate! Part Deux... We sit at the popular table!

Good morning!

Nice to see the board is already awake and moving when I get here! :lmao: I mean, it is bad enough that I have to wake my kids up and drag them out of bed! :rotfl2:

I was up too late last working (well, ok, that is not completely true. If I had been diligently working, I could have been in bed by 11pm. But there is planning to do! SO I got side-tracked and ended up having stay up late and still not finish my real work).

Kids have busy days today, so that means I have a busy day. It has been a week since we had a pool day! I haven't been to the beach in almost a week either. We are far too busy for the summer and I can't seem to stop to train. Riley starts LAX today but fortunately it is only a 3-week season at his age. (Well, they split the season...3 weeks in the fall and 6 weeks in the spring. Not sure why they do this for kids his age, but it is what it is.) And then practices for the travel soccer team he is on start this week as well. (Once that is underway, FYI, I am not going to be in a good mood. I hate the schedule and this year's team has a mix of moms that will be...interesting.)

Ended yesterday with an excellent food day. Today will be a repeat. I am ON IT, I tell ya! :cool1: You can always tell when the switch has been flipped, you know? And mind is firmly ON! It has been that way with the exercise all along, as you know. But I hadn't realized how bad my eating really had become until I started tracking. (I know, I know...:rotfl2: ) So I am really committing to that.

Ok, have a great day everyone. I am off to take the kids to tennis and get in a 4-mile run while they are there.

Dawn - have fun with the baby!!!!

Deb - I neglected to answer your question, but Erika kind of did for me. I am on WW. I love it. PM me if you have questions.

Ok, last two days of this particular gig and then I am back to "normal". I will resurface for real!

Two more days?!?!

Between you working like a mad woman, Lyz being at the fair with no wi-fi and Kat going to a hundred interviews a week...*sigh*...the rest of us are getting lonely around here! :lmao:

Kat--good luck today! I am sure they will love you! (Now we just have to find a place that YOU love!)

Ok has anyone tried those Vita-Tops?? They come in a variety of different flavors. They have 6 grams of fiber they are low in fat 4 grams of protein are whole grain and have 15 vitamins and Minerals 100 calories???
I bought the corn muffins tops..... not bad not great, they have an after taste. They do come in Deep chocolate.... I may have to try those!

Me too E!! I am so with ya on the switch flipping. Mine flipped on Saturday. Here's to hoping we can get through August (I have some stuff that is built-in sabatoge too).

Thanks!! I LOVED this place this morning and the job would be perfect. Keep your fingers crossed for me on that one, that they loved me as much as I loved them.

I have another one today at 6:30, and still waiting to hear from one more to schedule the face-to-face. I also heard back from the 1st one today, that they have not made a decision yet, so at least that one still has some hope. They had told me when I left that I was the first one to come in and that it could take a while.

I think that I am going to get an offer from Friday's interview. The HR dept has been checking references and called me today about a date mixup on my application, so I imagine that one is a matter of time. I wouldn't hate it there but it isn't my first choice, so I hope that they drag their feet some so that I can wait on the other two.

Meanwhile, home has backslid some over the weekend, so I am trying to come to terms with that and what I am going to do about it.

Deb -- I do straight calorie counting using sparkpeople. I am such a math geek, plus inherently cheap, that I just went for tracking/counting it all myself. I have seen a lot of people, on and off this thread, have great success w/ WW though!

Liz, are you still doing the radio gig?

Steph, I haven't tried VitaTops... have heard a lot about them though. I have been doing half a fiber one bar for b-fast lately. I bought the Oats&Caramel and I really don't like them as well as the Apple Struesel.

E -- today should end the interviews unless the other guy calls back, so I should go back to normal. Work has also calmed some since we did our quarterly release last weekend.

Lyz, hope you are having fun at the fair!!

So LYZ I know you are enjoying your time at the fair I hope that you are doing good... food wise... uggghh stay away from the bloomin onion!!!! :lmao:
Hope that Molli and Willie are doing good!

So when you have time if you know anything about this let me know!!! you are the only one I know from OHIO!
The boys and I are watching monster quest on the history channel.. Right now the show is showcasing the GRASSMAN... you know anything about it???

E~ they just had on the Maine beast on or the turner something or other. The dog that someone took a picture of but DNA has concluded that it was a dog!

My boys like watching the history channel Love me some monster quest! Does anyone else have some mysterious animal in their backyards??? We have champy our lake monster! Plus there was something that ran by us (my mom and I) that looked like a horse but with a weird looking head?????
ANYONE ANYONE?? MONSTERS??

41 days to go...and 0 ADRs! :scared1: We are going to try DDE instead of the DDP this trip. I know I will likely the flexibility more...the question is how will it turn out cost-wise. Over on the DVC boards, the consensus for years has been that DDE wins out.

Only got in 3.5 miles (had to get back to be there when tennis ended and I got a slightly late start).

Food so far:

4 egg whites = 70 cals
2 slices veggie bacon = 60 cals.

Off to see my dad in the hospital. Be back on later this afternoon.

Hi everyone...

Lots to catch up on which is so cool.... Glad to hear that everyone seems to be doing well today. I am back on track food wise and mindset wise to start the scale moving in the right direction again. I got my junk food out of my system and even threw a bunch of the leftover stuff from the weekend away in a spiritual cleansing type of exercise. The fridge is stocked with fresh fruits and veggies and other assorted healthy snacking options so as they say - Out with the bad and in with the good...

My review went very well this morning. I got my promotion and a very nice double digit percentage raise so I am very happy. I also got answers to some of the nagging questions from the whole debacle that was my career this past six months. I feel a little better knowing the answers, but I still feel like I got screwed over in some ways. On the plus side, I feel that I am moving in the right direction and received confirmation that people are noticing my work (the client's director of the division of construction actually singled me out by name when talking to my boss during their client satisfaction survey meeting saying that I was one of the best people working in the division at the moment - both private and public employees so that was very cool to hear.

OK - time to get back to the salt mines... have a great day everyone... I am heading to the hospital to visit my aunt (who is doing much better - out of ICU and her surgery scheduled for tomorrow) and then dinner followed by a good long work out.

Talk to you all later,
Paula

I'm glad I have a princess-loving girl. No Monsters! But have you seen this guy? He's 'new'! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/new...tery-animal-corpse-becomes-web-sensation.html

No ADRs, as long as you're not tied into a restaurant/time/day, has never been a problem for us. ADRs start opening back up 2 weeks before just about everywhere. I've never tried for CRT, but have pulled off anyplace else I've ever wanted. But I've got a car, and an AP, and flexibility as to what time I eat, so I can get wherever I want whenever I want without worrying about hoppers and buses. We share meals more, snack less, only do one or two TS every trip, eat off property (don't tell Mickey) at least once. I've never run the numbers as until recently there's been no DDP equivalent for AP holders. I'd guess that for how we eat DDE would be the better value.

Me too E!! I am so with ya on the switch flipping. Mine flipped on Saturday. Here's to hoping we can get through August (I have some stuff that is built-in sabatoge too).

Thanks, Kat - I'll sit through the meeting Thursday and see what they have to say. I'm the same - math geek, inherently cheap, and can count to 1200 just fine. DH is even more geeky than I - last night I asked what he thought the calorie count in dinner was and he mathed it right out for me. I just need to count, you know?

DEB--awesome job on the 7-mile ride! WOO to the HOO for YOU!

And, to add to my WOO HOO, an hour after the ride I was regretting it. Sore, tired, wanted to eat/inhale the entire vending machine at work and get a soda, too. I drank water instead. Then an hour later, I was still craving chocolate and ate a fiber one bar and had more water. Then, an hour later, I decided I was going to make it to lunch without any more food. Score one for me! 1 fiber one bar instead of a soda and a candy bar.

Deb

That's me again. I promise I'll get back later tonight and let you know what I've been up too...the good, the bad, the ugly...:rolleyes1

Paula - TENT camping? :worship: I wouldn't last more than one night in a tent!

Kat - sorry your job is such a suck-fest. Hopefully one of these interviews will turn into something GOOD :wizard:

Liz - I simply can't keep up with you - jetting off here and there...:confused3

Deb - nice job on the bike ride! :yay: (have I ever told you how much I LOVE my bike  )

Lyz - Hope all went well with the fair! Ours is coming up fast and we have LOADS to do.

Erika - yeah, well...with only 3.5 miles today I'm tempted to call you a slacker...;).....NOT! :goodvibes ...and HIT ON. that's awesome. :thumbsup2

Dawn - Good luck with the little one... ....I'm so not "baby proof" around here anymore. A crawler would be my worst nightmare! :scared:

Steph - good job taking off the vaca-weight! :yay: I trust everyone's tummy's are on the mend in your house??

Did I catch everyone? I hope so...please forgive me if I'm missing stuff here - I'm missing LOTS of things right now - my mind being the most obviously lost item... :rotfl:

I got my promotion and a very nice double digit percentage raise so I am very happy.

DOUBLE DIGIT RAISE???    Way to GO!!! After all the crap they've put you thru you totally deserve that!

Back outside for me - I'm "pool monitor". not little kids - WORSE. Teenage boys. I swear - if someone doesn't get hurt, it'll be a minor miracle! :rolleyes1

Yup... double digit percentage raise.... Thanks for the kind words.... I agree with you - they so owe me for all of the crap they have sent my way this year. I am taking it and running all the way to the bank with it.... Now, I just need to find the next project for me to work on and my world domination plan will be back on track....

Have fun at the pool....

Teenage boys are the worst...girls just lie in bikkini's and want to look good...looking stupid means...being stupid...

Boys: looking stupid = studly = macho = muscles = shoving = pushing = yelling = king of the hill menality = boys

OMG, Paula, WAY TO GO!!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Kat- keep us updated! Yes, still the radio gig. One more day.

Nancy - I can barely keep up with me! It's freaking exhausting. I need a calendar to know where I am and what I'm working on. I hope this is worth it when I get paid. The things we do for money around here!

Um, I had more to say but my brain froze. Going to go work on something somewhere. xoxo!

I had a nice long post ready, and then my power went out with a crack of lightning, fantastic. so i'll try to rewrite by memory but will inevitably miss something

Erika - Thats awesome on the upcoming vacay! How exciting, and of course ppl were hitting on you at the gym, you are one hot mama!

Dawn - i hope you whipped that lil girl into shape, no crying and carrying on while on your watch!

Kat - i'm crossing my fingers for you, good luck and i hope you get your dream job after all of this, hang in there with the current job, its only a matter of time!

Xmas - i don't think we have monsters around here, however, there IS a wild african cat on the loose, but don't worry, apparently he is legally licensed as a pet and declawed, he could still chew your face off, but you know, no worries :scared1:

Paula - WOOT on the PROMO, check you out woman! you totally deserve it (and then some!!!!!) Do a high energy dance all the way to the bank, that way you'll enjoy your money AND burn calories :dance3:

I've had an irritating day, the bosses are all on vacay so everyone is being lazy and i'm swamped and thats annoying. Also, i'm in the process of switching banks, and somehow, even though i didn't even set the new bank up until a month after i was married, they have my maiden name and old address on half of the stuff, so i've been arguing with their customer service (i use that term loosely) reps for the last hour!!!

Bruce is out checking out a dojo (spelling?) he wants to get back into Karate, and it's going to cost a small fortune.... oh well, gots to keep the man happy i suppose. But i'm annoyed because i did so good with food choices all day, and get home to Pizza & Chicken Wings waiting for me because "we don't have time to cook before i have to leave". I know he means well, but i can feel my @ss expanding at this very moment, i am jumping on the treadmill as soon as i finish up my name change letters.

I'm also in the throes of vacation planning dilemma, my parents want us to go to Disney in April - they go for several weeks each spring for their anniversary and want our trips to overlap by a few days so we can hook up and do some things. Bruce's family wants to do a Grand Gathering in October to see MNSSHP and want us to go for a week then. Bruce isn't sure he wants to do either - we are trying to pay off my car and smash enough into savings to be able to start house hunting in the next 2.5-3 yearsish. I'm torn, of course i want to go to both, prefer to go with my family if i can only do one.... don't really want to NOT go, but i understand and kind of agree with his reasoning, but i'd have to take SOME sort of vacay this year or i'd LOSSSSSSSE IT. Anyone have any good vacation ideas that are a lil cheaper than disney?? That's where we have always gone!

Ok, enough rambling for now, i hope everyone is having a good night :goodvibes

Stacey, we always do WDW.. but it isn't that expensive since we already have DVC and AP in the budget, it is just the gas down there and meals.

So, I got two job offers today. One was from the company on Friday, and is a 15% boost from my current job. It would be much the same responsibilities that I have now, and is right across the street, so still has the 30 min commute. I stalled the guy but will have to make a decision by the end of the week.

The second was from my 6:30 interview. Which was the weirdest interview I have ever been on. Sat down with the hiring manager for an hour and he went over my background and at the end was like, if you want to work here you have a job. I told him about the other offer and he said he would match it, but no pressure and just let him know, that the door would always be open for me to work there. NOT what I am used to!!

It would be a cool place to work and is 5 miles from home (same office park as dream job). So, that is also an option.

I took pics of my interview suit and the quick-superman-change I do to it to go back and forth to work and not be obvious, I might post them later.

Hey Team!

PAULA! Way to GO! That is a huge raise! Particularly in this economy. J and I each got the whopping 4% this year. Certainly not even cost of living. :sad2: so I think it shows a lot that you got such a large raise!

DAWN--hope it was fun having your niece. I bet you are tired, though! lol It is easy to forget how draining they can be at that age.

NANCY--how was the lifeguarding gig?

LIZ--hope you can pop in at least a little bit.

LYZ--we need hog news!

STEPH--get the DVC planning DVD. It is free. I think, actually, you can even watch the whole thing online these days on the DVC site. All of your questions will be answered. But here is the bottom line that you will hear from most DIS DVCers. Ask yourself the following questions:

--Do you plan to go to Disney once a year (or at the very least, once every other year)?
--Does it matter to you where you stay? (Meaning, do you have to be in moderate or deluxe or are you happy in the Values and/or off property?)
--Can you afford to pay it outright without financing?

If you answered yes to all 3 of these, then DVC is for you. As for good deals...right now, there are AMAZING deals to be had. I will fill you in later.

KAT--glad the morning one went so well. Can't wait to hear about the evening.

As for me...the 5 of us all piled in mine and J's bed to watch the DVC planning video since Kel didn't remember what Beach Club is like. They are SO pumped. The last three trips have been surprises and they asked us not to surprise them with the next one. So they are in on it from the beginning.

Had a great food day! And I tracked! Victories all around. Bring on the skinny!

KAT!!! AMAZING! I was typing the above post when you were posting as well.

I am so happy for you! Now you have to wait and hear from dream job, right? And ok, so the 6:30 interview was weird...but did you like the day to day of the job you would be doing?

PAULA!! I forgot to say congratulations! That is so awesome!

Okay, here are the pics.

First, for LIZ, the shoes (and yes, 3.25" heel):
