In search of my body...not the one I ate! Part Deux... We sit at the popular table!

Just back from my ride...it feels SO GOOD to be "back" after being sick. :woohoo: Now I'm energized and ready to face the day! :goodvibes

Erika - so maybe I missed it here -but....you were going berry picking. (how could ANYONE miss that part! ) but....what did ya get? And what are ya doin' with it?

I noticed yesterday that my blueberry bushes got NOTHIN'. I don't remember seeing them blossom this spring...:confused3 ...and I've got zippo out there....barren blueberries! :rotfl2: (ok- that cracked me up....:rolleyes1...so easily amused. and I wonder why the kids didn't want me to drive with them to Maine :confused3 )

Great job on the ride! Glad you are getting back to YOU! Berries...we just got strawberries yesterday and I made up a bunch for shortcakes (froze those for when we return. Yes, you can freeze fresh strawberries, but only if you have mixed them with confec. sugar for shortcake) and made jam with the rest. Strawberry and strawberry rhubarb. Yum.

Blueberries should not be out yet (at least not here, but we are later than you since we are further north). Barren blueberries...now that is funny! High bush or low bush?

Where is Kitty Kat going?

"Home" to the burgh! (Pittsburgh, PA, which is where she is originally from.)

I guess this is not the time to mention I am 10 mins from the beach....going there tomorrow, and only not going today because I am lazy. Come visit!

Ummm....ditto....I wasn't going to say anything....and we'll be on the water for the next three days...:rolleyes1 Seriously, anyone who want to come visit is welcome. We have a guest apartment, so there is plenty of room!

Getting ready to go...we have to wait until after swim lessons, so I have a bit of time left. Of course I am not ready yet either. Yes, I wil post pics. Kat and Liz...I will track while I am gone (I'll try anyway. It likely won't be pretty, though. But I think it won't be awful either.)

Hey you guys--I just heard from KIM (Born2Bird). I e-mailed her and told her we were worried. Here is the update:

Dear Erika,

Thank you for checking in. I miss all of you. Please send everyone a big hug from me. I will be back as soon as I can.

We have been through a few difficult weeks that has included an electrical fire at our home and a sick child. We are waiting for more lab results to know what is actually going on with our little man. As you well know, it is terrifying. Low on the list of drama is my job situation which is still precarious though improving as of this week.

I am thinking of everyone and hope all is well.

Kim

ok I am looking to maybe go there? for vacation! Ocean, pools, water parks.... sounds good to me . Know any good camping areas in the area?

Tons, though I would not stay right in OOB. Two words that you can relate to:

French Canadians!

The entire town is French-speaking in July and August. No kidding. Are you tenting or an RV/camper?

My choice for you (since you are not nature girl :lmao: ) is this place:

http://www.bayleys-camping.com/

It is a campground, but they have a bar right there at the campground! :rotfl2:

JODI!! I am so happy for you.

Nancy, sorry to hear about DS.

I am still fighting this frakkin head cold. I think we are going to leave in the morning, if both of us feel up to it.

I worked from home again. :)

Okay - I love the black and white cowboy one and the colored pic full body in the yellow..this is just a few...will send more once we get them back...

Dragging myself in here, hungover from last night.

See, we have big parties here on the 3rd, not the 4th, because fireworks are done on the 3rd in Red Bank and it's a huge deal. People come from all over to see them, and they broadcast the music on a NYC radio station - it's a big enough display that it's not even a local radio station broadcasting, it's one of the major ones. It cracks us up that people all over the NY metro area can hear the music for our town's fireworks!

Happily, we are close enough to see them from our house, so we have people over and sit outside and eat and drink. We had lots and lots of veggies - no potato salads or junk. Just nice lean burgers, roasted veggies, roasted corn, a huge salad, and some watermelon for dessert. I gave the kids hotdogs and ice pops, but they were the less junky versions of both. My big splurge last night? Beer. But, I did track the entire night, so if I stay on plan the rest of this weekend, I'm in good shape.

Yum, beer.

Kat, did you guys leave?

Dawn - those pics are amazing. I think the first three are the best. Are you buying all of them? Did the school hire this person or did you? Because I have never seen such great senior pics!!!

Good Morning! I am dragging myself here but not for the reasons Liz is, Zac blood sugar was low all well not all night but from 3 a.m to 4 a.m. We always have juice boxes in the house and do you think I could find one?? No I had to go out to the car at 3:30 a.m and look for one in my compartment. Then stay awake for another 15 minutes to check his sugar again. Finally his sugar was above 140 and I said I think you'll be fine! I am going back to sleep.. Wake me if you don't feel good again.

So now I am off to the supermarket to get stuff to make dessert, for a BBQ. My friends were having a small gathering which has turned into a huge BBQ. The kids will have fun she owns one of those bouncers that you pay huge money to bounce on at a fair. So the kids will bounce all day plus swim in her pool. For Dessert I am making peanut butter bars, and something Red White & Blue. Not SURE what but It will be something patriotic.
Oh one of my doctor friends from the Hospital told me last night that There is Nothing left to me! I was like Yeah there is and there will be 75 more of me to go. He said I would be a twig! This is coming from a man who weighs I would say over 400. So to be at 150 compared to him I will be a twig.

I hope that everyone has a great Day! HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!

Hi all. We celebrate today too. I have an afternoon reunion to go to and an evening cookout where we will walk down the block alittle ways and watch the fireworks. Maddi is humming with excitement. 4-5 is the BEST age in my book. Still cuddly, sweet smelling, soft and loving, yet independent enough that you can get things done. (Like she can get in the car and buckle her seatbelt all alone!!!!)

I am making, roasted pototos and upon request lemon squares. Molli(i.e. me) is making rice krispy treats. A blue batch and a red batch.

I am writing down everything I eat, but I don't think I'll do too bad. I tend to eat on the lighter side in public. It's when I'm alone I do the most damage.

Dawn, he's a super cutie. I like the first with no shoes the best. But they are all good.

Liz - good job on the healthy party food.

Steph - I don't know how you do it.

At our school and I think I can safely say in Minesota and Iowa and Nebraska - parents buy senior portrait packages like you do for weddings through different photographers. Our choice and then one is selected for the yearbook b th ekid/parent - the rest is for the family and you spend as much/little as you want...these are just 4 pics of probably 50 that were taken...the first that the Studio released publically through facebook - (great advertising on their part) and then next week hopefully they will all be on line to be seen - I will have to pm the password to those that want to see his gallery - he had 5 outfits total - some soccer ones I am excited about - but that darn cowboy hat one barefoot is my fave so far - he looks like he is a man now in that pic - fitting to let him go soon - but sad too - I am sure I will be going broke - you can get a 5x7 booklet of all the proofs - I may get that in addition to wallets and some I want bigger - just to keep - I used to take them all to get kid group shots - last one was in 2002 I bet - it was neat to see them being done - we went down to the river for the outside ones that you saw - lot's of neat natural/old props - cannnot wait for the rest -

I have to admit I cried when they were taking a few indoors - there was just a look in his face when he was smiling that brought me back to him at the age of 1 - pushing his little fire-engine walker around - I thought I would never want to hear that darn toy again - wailing when he was successfull - now I would give anything to have that back for jsut a day...

I ducked around some wall props when I was tearing up - I think he realized it because he spent he rest of the day with me and Baylor at the beach - which doesn't happen that often...I am looking forward to his last year - and frequent flyer miles for the college he goes to! ;) UGH...I am emotional...I will be a mess at graduation..

damage.

Dawn, he's a super cutie. I like the first with no shoes the best. But they are all good.

Me too...I put hem in order of how I liked them - will not order the last one though...unless a proof...If he smiles big - I love it - but the half drunken smile - not my favorite...:snooty:

Dawn I said it before but I am going to say it again he is suppppperrrr cute... I hope you have him under lock and Key:rotfl2: . I like the one in the cowboy hat and then the second to last one! His rock in his ears are bigger than mine!! NOT FAIR!

The place I had my senior pics was kinda like that. They guy had you bring like 12 outfits and HE chose the outfit that you would wear. I had two Formal ones with a Formal gown (prom Dresses) and a few in his back yard. He had a small stable so a few of us had pictures done in the hay mound. He also had a make up artist there who did your make up. He was the TOP person to have pic done with... the school also did Senior pic but they sucked. My mother bought all the proofs but they were all like 4x6's I still have the portfolio of them.

Blueberries should not be out yet (at least not here, but we are later than you since we are further north). Barren blueberries...now that is funny! High bush or low bush?

The blueberries in these parts start to ripen right about now, and usually run thru August. We have high bushes - in a nice bird-proof "area" that DH built for me...guess I'm gonna have to "outsource" my blueberries this year :guilty:

ok I am looking to maybe go there? for vacation! Ocean, pools, water parks.... sounds good to me . Know any good camping areas in the area?

We went camping in OOB several years ago, and had a GREAT time. Went to a very family-friendly campground. I'll have to see if I can find the name of it - my whole family went and we had 4 sites in a "block" together..we had a mix of campers (trailers) and RV's that we rented....I'm not so much of a camper either ;) The minute we drove in the place & I smelled the campfires I thought for SURE I was going to end up with black-lung disease by the end of the week  (me, over-reacting...go figure! :rolleyes1 )

Okay - I love the black and white cowboy one and the colored pic full body in the yellow..this is just a few...will send more once we get them back...

Awesome photos Dawn!!

Happy Independence Day everyone! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Stephanie....

It was "Wild Acres" campground that we went to in OOB. Loved it....

Happy Independence Day! How are we doing, body boarders?

I have eaten so well today that I am hungry and have points left. Is that insane, or what? We went to the boardwalk and I turned down cheese fries and funnel cake. Help, I think I have lost my mind! :lmao:

Okay, off to the fireworks. I hope all of you are having good days!!!

Nice job! :thumbsup2 I ate pretty well myself...but...I also DRANK quite a bit :rolleyes1 It's been a while since I've done THAT...:goodvibes

No bike ride for me today. It's a cruddy, rainy morning here. Very un-inspiring! :sad2: BUT - we just dropped off our boys for their trip to Maine, so we are down to 1 child for the day, then tomorrow...she's off to camp.

Good morning, Everyone!
So how did we do yesterday?? I had one of everything! Well not everything but a scoop of pasta salad, a hot dog w/o bun sausage with bun, chicken, a few dorito's. Then I had a few maybe three peanut butter bars, and a slice of berry patch brownie pizza, which I made and didn't work the points out but slices were small and 2 bacardi mojito's. I am going to put it all in and see how I did with my points.
We had a a great day with my best friend and her family. She has one of those jumpers that you see at Fairs so that was up and the kids went from pool to the bouncer and back to the pool the guys (and I was so proud of my husband who joined in) played horse shoes all afternoon. then at 8:30 we went home and changed our clothes and they met us here and we followed each other down to Plattsburgh and decided of not going to the beach and watch the fireworks from the old empty mall's parking lot. We had perfect view and less of a crowd and they didn't charge us 5.00 to park. She always sets up for the fourth of july with the bouncer and all those lights sticks she is the vendor you stay away from in fairs! So she had all the stuff last night free of charge! So we all had blinking lei's the kids had those battery light sticks and then the things that you push a button and it spins with lights ! So the kids had fun and everyone was staring. After the fireworks we shot right home and everyone went to bed but me I sat in the quiet. The boys were up at 7 am on the dot this morning and I told them that they had to come into my room and go back to bed and Zac refused so I made Tyler come and the next thing I knew Zac was waking me up saying mom it's almost lunch time and I haven't had my shot yet! I looked at the clock and it was 10:00 am. OOOPPS! We (Sammie & I) are off today to have our hair cuts and mine colored I wonder what color mine will be!
Thank god Zac's blood sugar was fine for the night it was just all day yesterday he was low he thought it was great because he could eat and eat and not get shots!

Nancy, I looked into it. It looks nice! I find it funny though in Maine, a camping family is just 2 adults down the cape it is 2 adults and 2 kids! it is all the same price though when you add in all the extra kids I have!

Now we have talked about maybe going south of us to the Enchanted Forrest! and Water Safari! I will now have to search out prices for the lake George area! Come on people we only have 5 days till vacation lets decide where we are going!!! I wish they could make up their minds!
