In search of my body...not the one I ate! Part Deux... We sit at the popular table!

Hi Guys! It's been a while, but i have been jumping on to read when i can!!

I'm in "pre-wedding hell" right now, sheesh this is insane, and i'm only a little over 2 weeks out :scared1:

Stupid little things like, i hemmed and hawed over what to use for a garter song (Bruce ended up choosing the ever classy "i like my women just a little on the trashy side" oye) and realized today, I HAVE NO GARTER, add that one to the list.

So i'm slowly losing my mind, unfortunately, i'm not losing weight, but i haven't gained either, so that's a plus, and i' ll probably lose a few over the next 2 weeks, not a good way, but i'm starting to get into the i'm so stressed that food makes me feel sick mode.....

Gramps goes to his first consultation with his oncologist today, i'm crossing my fingers it turns out well.

Congrats on all the running and weight loss guys, I promise, i'll be back to posting after the wedding & honeymoon (with pictures!!!) but i'll probably be pretty sporadic until then, FORGIVE ME!

Much love! :goodvibes

Good Morning everyone~
I think that is going to be a general statement about a week of WORK HELL!
I had a night of it last night. I volunteered to work in the lab not drawing blood and I ended up running late before work and not being able to get changed and I wore a t-shirt that has a V neck (not a great choice when you are bending over) I was told I was going to be drawing blood until 5:30 and then I would be going back to the lab. Then come to find out I would only be in the lab for an hour and a half. They paid someone 2 hours of overtime to come in, instead of just letting me stay in there. I wasn't a happy camper. They were like well we were short people and we needed to move you around because you are the one who can do both jobs and you're the most flexible. I was like GREAT Next time I won't volunteer! I have a feeling that it is going to be like this all week. One girl is out for personnel reasons and another has allergies and her eyes are weepy. I was like take some benedryl and get over it. I am so sympathetic! I have had the stomach Flu and gone to work! Not a great idea when you work in a hospital but when they don't give that may sick days you do what you have to do. I get three sick days a year!

Even with all that stress I still ate good yesterday
I had 1 whole wheat mini bagel with whipped cream cheese
a hot dog on a bun (ty's preschool picnic) half of a sugar cookie lots of fresh fruit.
Zucchini and carrots and a 4 oz piece of steak. a homemade peanut butter bar. I had a couple of Diet ice teas and a couple of Coke Zeros unfortunately no water or milk. I will work on that one today.
As for exercise I busted butt last night running the halls of the hospital. It was quite busy so I was moving all night. I even got a compliment last night I was told that I looked good in Jeans. even though they weren't jeans but who cares I got a compliment. I think I would have preferred it coming from a guy too but hey that just me!

Have a great day !

I just ordered belly dancing for beginners. I ordered two different ones one is for fat burning and the other is for belly buns thighs arms and abs.

Has anyone tried these? they are work outs from Veena and Neena. I saw a Yoga for wimps that looks about my speed too.

What dvd do you guys use?
ERIKA you don't count because you are a work out freak!:lmao: I think you'd KILL ME!! :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

I told you my nightmare was Erika showing up on my doorstep and making me run with her to the coast (which is hundreds of miles away...) :rotfl2: Love you Erika....

I am using Leslie Sansone's Walk away the Pounds series and throw in a Biggest Loser cardio workout for an extra boost. I find the walking DVD's to be challenging enough to get me sweating yet still fun to do. The Biggest Loser one is tough since they do a lot of squats and such. It is a great workout, but for my 270 pound frame, it can be tough to get through. I have to be careful and keep everything low impact per my doctor's orders. He doesn't want me blowing out my knees with a lot of jumping...

Hope this helps,
Paula

Hi all! Feeling G-O-O-D about myself today! :goodvibes

Had my internal fight this morning (Nancy-style) about what I should do for a run. Sucked it up and made myself do a 5-mile run outside. Knowing that I wasn't super motivated, I checked the tides and planned a run at the beach....but a different one than normal. I had my run end at a place I call "Seal Playground." It is this really cool rocky outcropping where at certain times of year, the seals are all hanging out and sunning themselves and playing in the water, etc.

There were about 8-10 harbor seals there this morning and some were putting on quite a show! So I ended my run there and did my post-run stretching with the seals. It totally set me up for the rest of the day!

Now, this next thing is going to make you spew whatever you are drinking all over your monitor, so you better put it down.

Cammie's class had a really cute event at school this morning called Kids' Cafe. They all wear aprons and have little order pads and they take orders and then serve food, etc. (Parents all brought in and donated food.) So by the time I was done with the seals, I only had 6 minutes to haul across town and make it to the Kids' Cafe. CRAP!

So, yes, you guessed it...I went to the SCHOOL, where I see EVERYONE that I know...in SPANDEX, full out running gear, and read-faced and sweaty! But there was no way I could not be there for Cam. OMG, the things we do for our kids!

Fortunately, I always have a hairbrush in the car, so I pull out my pony, brushed my hair while driving, and then pushed my hair back by putting my sunglasses on top of my head. It looked ok, actually, just soaking wet. (One of the kids asked me, "Did you just get out of the shower?" Um, yeah, that sounds good....:rotfl2: )

The really good part, though, was that all of the other moms who were there were totally not snobby about it. In fact, they were downright supportive. My next door neighbor was there (our kids are in the same class) so she knows about the running and so she was asking me how far I went today, etc. and all of the other moms were like, "Wow! Good for you!" and it seemed pretty genuine and not judgey. (This is a town where, yes, the moms dress up just to volunteer in the classrooms...SO not me...)

Now I am home...and the painter is here so my house is completely torn apart and will be for the next couple of weeks. We are basically having the entire inside of the house re-painted room by room. The only rooms that likely will not get done are the two older kids' rooms. They need it, but in another year or so they will be at ages where they really want to re-do their rooms and choose the style and theme, etc. So I will likely wait on those. But everything else...paint it up! My joke is that when there gets to be a certain amount of finger prints on the walls that I just cannot wash off, we re-paint. From 3 fee down, my walls are all smudged. Above the 3 foot mark, they are perfect! :lmao:

And while I am super glad to finally be getting everything painted...I hate living in chaos and having my house torn apart. It really rattles me. This is my work space as well as my living space, so I just never escape it.

Ok, exercise so far for the day:

Run = 5.5 miles in 58 minutes.

No core work-out yet today, but I plan to get one in later. I will report back. And if I don't....you need to bust me on it!

Erika -

So glad you are feeling so great about yourself today.... Stretching with the harbor seals just sounds cool... what a great way to start the day...

I'm walking tonight, so you better be crunching....

Talk to you later,
Paula

Goof- Have a great walk tonight. Don't give me Erika nightmares, I would picture a helivac hauling me away. Paula, thank you for the pixie dust. Our trip is coming up. AKLV Concierge!! here I come. It will be a real treat for our family. DH, DS, DD will live off zebra domes and I'll survive on simba paw prints.

Erika- :cool1: :cool1: I'm bringing spandex back :cool1: :cool1: We will all know it was you if spandex comes back in style. You are a super mom. In my student teaching the entire class made spandex shorts or tights. Half the class made hot pink and I swear the rest made purple with one or two blue and black thrown in. It was the first project with a serger :scared1: . Why couldn't I have been there when they made aprons.

:grouphug: to all of us in work hell.

Bride- :bride: sending happy thoughts!

So...hi.

The last few days or so were hard for me...what can I say? I didn't have anything to contribute to the conversation. Thanks to those of you who got it. I have been doing this, the life style change, since the end of October and sometimes I just want to eat a pound of candy and a hot fudge sundae. I have to be honest, it's all I have!

Today I weighed in for the first time in two weeks...and I have my period...I gained .6lbs, which I think is a total victory. Seriously, practically two weeks off course and my freaking period and only about half a pound! Whoo-whee! Also, I have barely even exercised in that time!

I read this horoscope which is more motivational stuff based on your sign. It comes out weekly. They are called Free Will Astology - check them out. http://freewillastrology.com/horoscopes/ Here was mine, that came out today:

"Dear Star-Reader Brezsny: You are the only wizard who can save me. I have a bad job -- just $72,000 a year -- plus a lover who's not all that cute and a home that's not worth as much as it used to be. My health is good but I hate my nose and a$$. Can't afford a BMW or a vacation to Spain. My world is unraveling! Hope is fading! Please tell me what to do! - Virgo on the Verge." Dear On the Verge: I suggest that you temporarily suspend your strident yearning. This is one time when it's important to cultivate more appreciation for what you actually have. I urge you and all Virgos to turn your attention away from what you think you lack, and devote your psychic energy to loving what is.

And I was like, okay, I get it! Stop being a perfectionist! So I went out and tried on swim suits with Ms. Greenie and guess what? I bought a bikini. Size 14. Only wearing it to the public beach with friends, not to parties or on a cruise ship (yet) but heck, it gives me something to work for. Now I care how toned my stomach is and how fast that thigh fat disappears. I think I might have to store it in the pantry, right in front of the chocolate.

And, yes, trainer tomorrow. Back on the wagon. Grr. ;)

Liz, :rotfl: . First EriKa is running around in spandex, and now you! This is one trend I'm not joining.

No time for a proper post. I actually trying to work today, instead of just thinking about it. But I am reading as you all post.

WHOO HOO on being able to manage your weight efforts throughout a stressful time.... I would have eaten my way to five pounds by now.... you are a goddess!!!!

I am loving the new attitude!!!! You go girl on the bikini.... you'll be wearing it to parties in no time. I knew there was a reason I loved ya... you are a fellow Virgo... I am going to start trying to apply your new attitude of enjoying what I have to my job... That should help keep me sane at work...

Have a great day and welcome back!!!!

Oh, I am so not kidding about that part! Seriously, how can it motivate me if it's not blocking my access to the good stuff? :lmao:

My babysitter called in sick so I am not working today. Which is joyful, but will be bad later. Ah, well. I went to lunch and swimsuit shopping (Target for the suit, BTW) and Em didn't melt down until after I picked out the suit! Victory!

You know, right before I posted I thought, I should take a picture of it! Okay, here are the pics and some links from Target...

I got this bikini top:

This bottom - can't find it online:

The tankini top, so I have the option, in case I have to see someone I know:

The cover-up:

And, this dress, because it was cute:

Only, it is much cuter in person.

If you want to see them matched in sets, PM me for my Flickr. Or, just go back to your regularly scheduled day and ignore the crazy woman with the chocolate and bathing suits! :lmao:

I am here and reading periodically... being that I am not really dieting right now, don't have much to add.

Although congrats on the .6 and the bikini!! I would love to only have put on .6 lbs but I seriously doubt that will happen.

Well, D is in the shower and we are about to head over to V&A for an anniversary dinner. Things are going well here, it is hot but Stormalong Bay is cool and nice. :)

Have a smallish one once in awhile with slivered almonds. Do a dessert first dinner.

Here's my propa post.

I have tons of pictures and now I know how to post! Y'all may be sorry!

I just ordered belly dancing for beginners. I ordered two different ones one is for fat burning and the other is for belly buns thighs arms and abs.

Liz. Oh the mind. It will be your best friend and your worst enemy, all in one day.

Nothing like a little shopping to make you feel better. I like the suits. The brown will accent your beautiful red hair wonderfully.

Details, girlfriend, we will need the details! Hope you are relaxing and feeling like you are a million miles away from the hell-hole that is work!

Agreed.

EriKa - I see you got your core in. I wanted to harass you. Tomorrow, my friend. Tomorrow.
