In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

Sarah - I am super proud of you for finding another way to exercise when thwarted. Well done!

Paula - I love how it's clicking with you. I can hear it all the way in NJ! I have had those clicks before. They are awesome.

Amiiee - Oh, you're so cute. There's only one Bruce in my life. And here we don't use his last name, just Bruce. Springsteen, baby.

Hey remember when i gave him my parking space and he smiled at me???

Lyz - Yes, hide it from you know who. i am with you on this.

Kelly - Better day today?

Amy - I need the scoop on your family's Nj roots. Like, now. No pressure.

Steph - The dog is super cute.

Dawn - The kiddo is super cute.

Roddy - It's Roddy, right? Not Rod?

Stacy - how is WW going???

So remember that Tri I did the 5k for in Sept? Well, my friends and I raised $1670 for breast cancer research. How awesome is that???

Oh, Sarah - the Wii Fit says "oh!" to my four year old, too, so it's not just us! :rotfl:

Love that thing. So fun. Yes, Lyz, we have Guitar Hero, but the BEST game is Rock Band. OMG fun. Fun off the fun scale. We had everyone playing at Christmas Eve. And I love Wii because everyone can play it and you can bring it everywhere. Like my mom's snooty best friend was rocking out, and so was her stoner son. Fun for the whole dysfunctional family!

Gotta go Wii. Oh, and then I am taking my mom to a Coach outlet. Because she wants this purse I couldn't get in CT, so I feel like a trip out there is in order. Like, the woman so deserves a Coach, right?

Morning! Of course hockey counts as exercise! OMG, it is WORK, I tell ya. I only goof around with the kids in the back yard, but when I played on a moms' team, it HURT. (And that was as a goalie who does the least amount of skating, :rotfl2: )

I am still sore, though not as bad as yesterday, so that is good. And news flash. I am going to the doctor today. :scared1: This is major since I basically never go (because as a vampire, I don't get sick, natch ;) ). I called my primary care doc's office and just asked for a referral to my sports med doc and the nurse put me on hold for a moment and then came back on the line and was like, "Oh no. You are NOT getting a referral without coming in. You haven't been here in AGES." I would think that would be a GOOD thing? I think it has been 4 years? Something like that.

And yes, I still plan to see my OB/GYN at some point this year. It was one of my New Year's Resolutions. I haven't been to that doc in over 6 years. The last time was when Kelly was born. I went back for my 6-week check and I don't think I have been back since. In fact, if memory serves, I had to cancel my 6-week postpartum check up for some reason and never even got THAT one in. But this year I need a mammogram--since I am getting o.l.d. and all. So I will go. I will. Paula, stop giving me angry eyes! I promise to go.

Lyz--we are totally color-coded in this house, too. Everyone has their own color towel, for sure. But the kids--I color code them with everything. Riley is Navy, Cammie is red, and Kel is green. And everything goes by that. Towels, tooth brushes, backpacks, lunch boxes, sheets, luggage, sleeping bags and camping gear. Everything. It makes life SO much easier. Everyone always knows what belongs where and to which kid. And yes. My friends and family tease me mercilessly because of it.

I am going to swim today. First time in I don't know how many years. Will report later. But it should be GOOD for the hamstring.

Kelly--glad you are defunkifying.

Lyz--nope, no Disney art in my house. But I am going to get something small for my office, I think. Disney makes me so happy, so I think I should have something in here that reminds me of that. Something very Walt-based. Kat and Liz and I all have matching mugs with a print that I fell in love with on it. And we tried to get a print of it for my office, but they no longer make/sell that particular print, even though they did for the past few years. I look on eBay for it all the time and still haven't found it.

And Lyz, please, please, please tell me when you run. I promise I won't even comment on it, k? I just want to know.

Have a great day everyone!

NO NO NO! Do NOT keep it from me! :headache:

And yes, she SO deserves a Coach. Even two.

Stalker calls so far today - 2 by 9am. But she is at work, so I am not expecting a lot until after she is out.

LOL... Well I am glad its not just me then... Rockband 2 is hella fun... We have it for Xbox 360... We play with our friends... I only sing tho... I try playing bass every now and then when I am feeling froggy but generally I am terrible at it... I'll stick to singing... No Doubt and I are very good friends and my rendition of Alanis' You Oughta Know made my DH ask if I was an angry chick... LOL... And yes everyone deserves a Coach :)

I hear ya on that... I hate hate hate the doctor... I had a stomach infection for almost a month before I went to the doctor... I hate them! Like if I am not dying there is Nyquil and Dayquil... End of story... LOL...

NO NO NO! Do NOT keep it from me! :headache:

And yes, she SO deserves a Coach. Even two.

*shudders*

Well today is another day... Planned the rest of my meals through the end of the week and looks like even on Valentines Day I'll be within range.... That is unless some fabulous dessert gets brought to my attention... I am making Chicken Cordon Bleu for us and I found a low cal version for me :) Today I am going to do 30 Day Shred since its my strength training day... Anywho I hope everyone is having a great day!

I don't hate going to the doctor at all. I just never need to. So I don't go. I am always so busy and it feels like a waste of time to go when I am not sick, you know? And YES, I know about yearly check-ups. New Year's Resolution! I will go!

:surfweb:
P.S. - I'll apologize now for my over use of commas, run-on sentences and beginning sentences with conjunctions. :rotfl:
Thanks for all the info on you and I loved your conjunctions!:lmao:
I jogged 0.47 of it and power walked the rest which was 1.36... Did it in about 25-30 minutes... Best I can figure I jogged a 12 min/mile and walked a 17 min/mile... I am kinda disappointed but at least I did it and it was the first time I've jogged since high school.. Next week Will is going to work with me more (he was in track in high school)... Anywho nap time!!!
Great Job!
As long as you don't start using a ". . ." between your sentences, there won't be any problems!!
Hey now! I slowed them down and I love my "...'s";) :lmao:
Yaay to clothes that are too big!

Best feeling in the world!

I love flip flops too. And my feet are so bad. But they are so pretty.

My faves as well but they do not hurt my feet YET!:worship:

Paula - what a great mindset! And 6 months ago, you'd have been in the fetal position eating the brownines. Now you are biking!!!!

Go Paula! It's your Birthday!

I found Pirates Booty last night!!! In my town. I'm so excited.

Ok, off to the dreadmill.[/B][/COLOR]

WHAT IS PIRATES BOOTY???:confused3

Will post food for calories and WW but yesterdays food total was at 1500 and WW points was 30 - so far for me both in the range. Like seeing the poins though - Dan prefers WW.

Nancy - no shorting tracking, or excersize. Just not running or walking fast yet.

Erika - Don't make me start hounding you about the appointments with the docs? I really don't want to have to get my angry eyes out on you, but I will because I love ya.

Glad you are taking some time to take care of yourself.

I won't laugh too hard about the color coding because as I think about it, my mom did the same thing for us. Still does to a point - especially at Christmas. All of my sister's gifts are in one paper and mine in another. The colors may have shifted a bit as our tastes changed, but still color coded.

Liz - your mom definitely deserves a Coach. I am the only one who thinks it is crazy to spend that much on a purse. I mean I totally deserve one, but I don't want to be the one who buys it. That's why I love my sister so much. She recognized this and bought me my Kate Spade wallet (that I so love) a few years back. She knew I would never buy it for myself. She really is a good sister despite the times she totally pisses me off. She does ask about you all and says hi...

Really need to get back to work. The pile of filing that I have to do is about 24" high now and is threatening to topple over. Can I say how much I really miss not having an admin support person around????

Paula

WHAT IS PIRATES BOOTY???:confused3

Pirate's Booty is a white cheddar cheese puff type snack food that is made from corn and rice (I think). It is not fried, so is much lower in fat than traditional snacks. I want to say that a 1oz. serving is about 120 - 130 calories and has about 3grams of fat, but don't quote me on that (read the label to be sure). For me, it was similar to the JC Cheese Curls that I have been loving (think cheetos but not as nasty as cheetos) so they equal out to one serving of starch and one serving of fat from my day.

Trader Joe's makes a version of these, but the name of them escapes me. I think they are in a blue bag.

If I am going to a picnic and need to bring snacks. I'll throw a bag of these in along with some healthy snacks so I can 'indulge' in a somewhat safe manner since they are way better than chips (even the baked ones).

Pirates Booty is a really great, yummy, pretty much lowish calorie snack... I think its not real popcorn tho... But its sooooooo good!

Workout - done.

Coffee - in progress :surfweb:

I am at about 45 pounds lost now.

That's so fabulous, Paula. So happy for you. So proud. :goodvibes

Who knew you could find such clarity while sweating your bummocks off?

 Ah yes. You are firmly entrenched here now. Isn't it awesome how your mind just relaxes, and *stuff* just works itself out? I swear, I sleep so much better because my brain has already done all the necessary processing while I'm running (or biking. Whichever). Very rarely do I have a night where my mind just won't "shut off".

Liz ~ Bruce! Which Bruce?? Lee, Willis, Boxleitner? Still excited for you! :cool1:

:faint:

:rotfl:

Some of you know what this Friday is for me and I just have to share! I always do something extra special to celebrate that day, well, I booked a facial. It's my 1/2 day from work because the 14th is my Saturday to work (it's a 4 hour shift, so it's not bad). Top it off, my family isn't going to know that I am off work, lol. :lmao:

Enjoy your day. You totally deserve it. :flower3:

I did read back, you guys are chatty pattys when Im asleep!

Kelly, I was thinking about you. At 3:00 this morning when I got up to pee. As I was drifting back off to sleep, I was wondering what you were up to!:confused3 Eating coco pops apparently!

How is riding on a bike resting!?!?!?

Oddly, I can relate to that. I'd consider it rest too. However, the Dr. will probably disagree. Them and their fancy shmancy medical degrees. They think they know everything :rotfl:

I am not the challenge czar, but I think a hockey weekend counts as exercise.

A hockey weekend only counts as exercise if you play. Not if you are on the bleachers watching. ;) So for Kat? Yes. If it were ME? not so much. I'd be watching.

Lyz - so happy you are on the dreadmill again....

me too. How was it Lyz?

Sounds like Kelly is getting ready to turn a corner... Watch out.

:scared: Kelly! Be careful! Don't bump into/trip over anything! :rotfl2:

Amiiee - Oh, you're so cute. There's only one Bruce in my life. And here we don't use his last name, just Bruce. Springsteen, baby.

Hey remember when i gave him my parking space and he smiled at me???

yeah...the good ol' days

So remember that Tri I did the 5k for in Sept? Well, my friends and I raised $1670 for breast cancer research. How awesome is that???

That's WAY awesome. Let me know about the one in April, 'k?

Gotta go Wii.

:rotfl: Read that again. Sounds funny!

And news flash. I am going to the doctor today. :scared1: This is major since I basically never go (because as a vampire, I don't get sick, natch ;) ).

Come over here so I can beat you about the head :badpc: What do you mean you haven't been to the ob/gyn in 6 years. OMG woman. Don't make me call the Dr. and make the appointment for you.

<sheesh>

Liz--My NJ roots..My parents were born there, grew up there, and I was born there and lived there until I was 10. Which is when we moved to VT. So, my parents when they were dating/first married saw Bruce play in little clubs before he got to be really famous. They love him. They probably go to 3-4 concerts every year. The first music I remember is Bruce because we listened to it all the time. So his music is really special to me. Especially the older stuff.

Have fun on the coach shopping trip! So fun. :goodvibes

Amiee--Sadly we never found the choco. bacon. DH was even willing to try it. But we did see some other totally ridiculous food, and I will post pics later.

I SO need to go to my yearly womans appointment. I did make my 6 week post partum in August 07, but I have not been since.

I love guitar hero. The World Tour Version (which I think is the newesy) that we got, has drums and a mike that you can get for it like rock band. I was sold on this version because of the songs. Born to Run. Misery Business. Everlong. So many good songs.

I'll check back in later...

Amy

I am the only one who thinks it is crazy to spend that much on a purse. I mean I totally deserve one, but I don't want to be the one who buys it.

Good morning all. Busy girls this morning!!

Paula, I feel the same way about the $ for a purse so I wait until they go on clearance at TJ Maxx and then I buy them. I have a MK purse that I got for $29 last year!

Erika, here is a little story for you. On Thanksgiving 2007, I ate my normal amount of yumminess and everything was all hunky dory. The next morning, I was in agony, vomiting, sharp pains, bloated, etcetera. Long story short (actually long ER visit short), I had a colonoscopy and they found a polyp the size of a golf ball. Scary as my dad died from colon cancer. They told me if I had waited for my "normal" colonoscopy date it would have been full blown cancer. Now, I have always been good about my yearly appointments and this was a fluke thing but just a little reminder on how fast things happen inside your body. Please, please do your yearly exams and the mammo is super important too. Anyone who does not have their colonoscopy when they are supposed to is looking for a jack slap from me too!!! There tough love done.

Nancy, any Nashville tips and tricks are welcome. We will have 3 touring days 1 marathon day and then we are outta there so the fast and furious tour works for me! One question is, how difficult is it to navigate? Mike and I are like evil stepchildren when we get shut in the car together.

Kelly, I hope you leave funky town soon!!

Everyone else, :grouphug: hugs all around.

As for me, busy, scheduling too tight. My runs are getting split into smaller segments and I don't like it much. The marathon looms in the not so distant future and I am getting scared. Hopefully, Mike sees clear to put some of his time off into family things and helping out. Last night he came home and announced that he was going on a truckers only snowmobile ride the last weekend of the month. I almost started crying right there. I have a 12 mile run, on top of a swim meet, field hockey skills session and field hockey game to cart to that weekend. His response "I don't get much time off and I want to do what I want to do"... :furious: I am still not sure what emtion I am feeling today but I still want to burst into tears. So forgive me. I am a little absent yet again.

My eating is going well and I am getting my mileage in. One more teenager to the gym today and a new program set up means less miles than usual. I have some make up to do tomorrow along with a dentist appointment, groceries and laundry. Thank goodness the cleaning lady is here today otherwise I might finally lose my mind!!! :lmao:

Have a great day everyone!

My yearly checkup is the first week in March. :P

Glad that you are feeling better today, and that you called the doc. I hope that they can help you.

The color-coding makes total sense to me? Seems like a good way to keep everything where it belongs.

I am drinking out of that mug right now, same as I do every morning. Always makes me smile. :surfweb:

I agree, Lyz... tell us what is going on. I feel like you are hiding in a corner lately and I miss you.

Workout - done.

Coffee is NECESSARY.

Your comment about kelly made me :rotfl: for some reason.

As we know, I prefer the WW method too. It's just quicker for me. Otherwise, I'd be like Kat calculating and tracking all the fat, fiber, protein, calories - I'd need a huge chart on the wall

Ah... but sparkpeople does my chart for me. The joys of technology. Oh wait! Nancy is a Luddite... :rolleyes1

Nancy - truer words have never been spoken. Everyone - please get thee to your doctor for the regular screenings. They are so important at catching things before they get out of hand. I mean my eye doctor diagnosed a major issue I had during my routine exam years ago. If left unchecked, I could have gone blind.... Annual screenings are so important. I'm with Nancy - don't make me start calling you all to schedule your appointments.

Anyone who does not have their colonoscopy when they are supposed to is looking for a jack slap from me too!!! There tough love done.

Glad everything turned out o.k. for you Lisa. That definitely was a scare! :scared1:

 My husband was born with a GPS implanted in his brain. I swear. We stayed right down-town at the Sheraton and walked to a lot of stuff. I'll send you a PM later with some ideas.

Ah... but sparkpeople does my chart for me. The joys of technology. Oh wait! Nancy is a Luddite... :rolleyes1

THAT'S the word. I couldn't think of it.

Kelly - Better day today?

Kelly--glad you are defunkifying.

Better today. Now I know Im going back to WW tomorrow, and I had a talk with DH about exercising I do feel better. Still funky, but defunkifying :lmao:

Kelly, I was thinking about you. At 3:00 this morning when I got up to pee. As I was drifting back off to sleep, I was wondering what you were up to!:confused3 Eating coco pops apparently!

:rotfl2: Whats the time difference? Its 4.20pm here! Theres a very good chance I was eating coco pops - I eat them at every opportunity! :rotfl:

:scared: Kelly! Be careful! Don't bump into/trip over anything! :rotfl2:

:lmao: I would be offended, but I fell UP the stairs this morning :confused3

Kelly, I hope you leave funky town soon!!

Getting there

LIZ - Your mum definitely deserves a Coach purse.
Oh, Ive just read on the news that your good friend Bruce will be over here in June headlining some music festivals!

Everyone (I feel bad saying everyone instead of names, but I haven't got my cheat sheet here and I get confuddled easily!) so...everyone :wave2:

I will be back later - I finish work in an hour!

I am still sore, though not as bad as yesterday, so that is good. And news flash. Ok just let me start out by saying i was the same way only went to the doctors when I was sick after moving to NY. In VT I went every year! I had a GP and she did everything! Then I moved here and never went unless I was sick or hurt. I had a referral to the back doctor but with insurance change I had to get a new one and I had a new doc so I had to go good thing. That is when they found the thyroid cancer! SO yes it is good to go every few years! And your not preaching to the choir because as for a "CHECK UP" I haven't been since they diagnosed me I have been to the oncologist and the ob/gym but I was going to a health clinic and they just don't have time really to do a check up on you! There are No appointments and you sit for hours! ( my reasoning)

I love this IDEA!!! Oh I am going to have to do it!!! Well my stuff is already all color coded everything is PINK!

I am going to swim today. First time in I don't know how many years. Will report later. But it should be GOOD for the hamstring.

I hope that you are swimming inside there girlie! I know that your from Maine and all but I think it is to cold to swim outside!

Trying to catch up!
Ok puppy is tearing up something!

Hi!!!!:wave2:

Hi to everyone.

Erika!!! Take a day off, or a few, with your hamstring. I don't care how slowly that bike ride was - that's not resting it. It's not. You're stubborn, eh?

Okay - be back later.

Amiiee - Oh, you're so cute. There's only one Bruce in my life. And here we don't use his last name, just Bruce. Springsteen, baby.

I wondered how you were going to handle this. Shock and awe? Clipped?

So remember that Tri I did the 5k for in Sept? Well, my friends and I raised $1670 for breast cancer research. How awesome is that???

Wow, I forgot how much you raised. That's oodles.

Yes. Yes. Yes.

Really. Isn't that what you said last year?

Kelly green. Was that on purpose.

I can't believe you have no Disney pieces. It doesn't have to feel animated.

Ohh, that's a good song. Forgot about it.

Hmm, I don't think it's crazy, anymore. Once you embrace it, it gets easier. It makes me happy. And you know, I get one chance.

Paula - you are "on". There is no other way to say it. I want to encourage you to pamper and coax that state of mind. You need to push thru any and every workout you don't want to do. Cause once it flitters away, it's so hard to get it to come back. (I want to be turned on.)

Come over here so I can beat you about the head :badpc: What do you mean you haven't been to the ob/gyn in 6 years. OMG woman. Don't make me call the Dr. and make the appointment for you. <sheesh>

Word. (The hunter becomes the hunted.)

 So frustrating.

I am drinking out of that mug right now, same as I do every morning. Always makes me smile. :surfweb:

I bet. I have to know what the mug looks like.

I agree, Lyz... tell us what is going on. I feel like you are hiding in a corner lately and I miss you.

Well, I don't know. Not much. I am starting to feel the exercise Lyz come back into my life. That's a good thing. I am purposly not posting here about it. It's too much pressure to always be on track and if I'm not I'm not. I know you all are not judging me, but I feel bad when I'm not. So I don't post when I am. Make sense?

WHAT IS PIRATES BOOTY???:confused3

From the bag. Puffed Rice & Corn. 4 oz bag. 130 calories per serving. 4 servings. It's good, but I mostly like it, cause I can mindlessly eat out of it, and even if I eat half the bag, the calorie damage is 260. Word.
