In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

Lyz, you can't hang a picture?? Plans a whole home and garden show, but can't hammer a nail... :goodvibes

That is a good one Kat.... Lyz - you so need to get your own tools... they make them in pink you know. They are guaranteed not to be touched / stolen by the man in your life if they are pink...:rotfl:

SO, we got more info about Friday's game. It is actually linked off the main page of the Carolina Hurricanes main site, now!! Here is a link to the article: http://hurricanes.nhl.com/team/app/?service=page&page=NewsPage&articleid=408112

I am getting nervous...

Kat - you are going to be fabulous in the tournament this weekend. You will be on such a high for being in that builiding, in those locker rooms and on that ice that you are just going to play your best. Have some faith in yourself - promise?

Liz - I am sketching tile schemes for you...

hrmph. Point taken. (I do not have proper authorization to hang a pic! It would not be level or centered or well perfect:eek: )

I am getting nervous...

The Columbus Blue Jackets, that's my home team (if I followed hockey.) I can't believe it's this weekend already. That really came fast.

Lyz - so happy to hear that you are having a wonderful day. So happy.

I still think you need some take care of Lyz time. So still hope you get it.

Nancy - it's not that it's red that screams. It just doesn't look natural because I've screwed my hair one too many times. It's not even one colour. I love natural looking hair. And it's not mine. I simply never learn. I get so close to having it better and then scan the drug store aisles like an absolute junkie:rotfl: :lmao:

Some people drink and take drugs. I eat and dye my hair. ;) .

Honey, I just dyed mine JET black. Like the darkest black you can find in the aforementioned aisle.

So I am right there with you on that train... :goodvibes

Lisa. Me, too. :rotfl: I think the hair care aisle is magic. It draws me in!

Had Fiber One today AND granola. OMG. The good thing is, I can't abide eating anything else today!

Rod--yes, we love the details here! At 170 it sounds like you should be at a good place? My husband is 175 and doesn't need to lose an ounce. He is short (5' 9") but muscular. So we want to know about your height, build, etc.

I have to speak up for him here and say that everyone knows where they want to be. One could say that you should be good where you are, no? ;)

I have seen pics of J and you are right, but he is also very much into fitness and is broadshouldered. Someone with a slighter built might look better thinner.

Liz, why can't you abide eating anything but granola? The Bruce encounter?? :confused3

Totally. I just wanted to know how far he had to go. Cause he's already lost so much. Trying to get an idea of Mr. Roddy.

I like the makeup isle and purse boutiques. Hair color, nah. Since I'm getting greys, that might be my new haunt.

Afternoon and back from a workout. I di 30 minutes at 2.3 on the treadmill. I called my doc and told himof my heart racing issues and he says no running or fast walking till I see him. I guess I am an idiot but I have felt this racing on and off since I was pregnant with Treyner. The first time I went in and thought I was having a heart attack and they said it was just exertion while pregnant. Truthfully never thought much about it besides attributing it at times to anxiety or stress. Latelythough (truthfully over 2 years) I feel it sometimes. I will be out of breath walking up 1o stairs in our split level. Heart racing fast and out of breath. Other times no issues at all. I can walk long distance with no problems at a decent rate and then getting out of a car and walking in the house. there it is again.

Heart failure runs huge on my dads side and I am needing to take care of business. I usually am so worried about kidney issues and have so many darn tests and bloodwork and CT scans etc. that I just have not thought much about it. I was less than 145 at 9 months pregnant with Treyner when this started so my best guess was I weighed 130 or so the first time it happened. The doc asked if I have swelling issues - I get horrible swelling in my hands and yet that can also be from retaining water due to kidney infections.

Anyway - E - change my workout to at least 3x a week still but not at the C-k5 for now. My heart rate was at 130-135 the whole time and I was trying to concentrate on breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth. That is so hard when you are not used to it but I noticed my HR went down to 128 when i was successfull.

Paula - I ate a fiber bar 20 minutes before and it helped huge! Thought of you.

Kat - good luck in the tourney - Baylor was overheard telling his hockey teammates that his Mom knows a woman who is a bad @ss who plays hockey and why couldn't their moms be cool like that? :lmao: I told him of the tourney and he asked how much you get payed to play! :worship:

Lyz - redoing our bathroom upstairs and are planning on wainscotting (sp) below and love those colors E and Lyz!

Lisa Z - hello!

It's a lot of fiber.

BTW, cute kids and dogs.

Hi gang -

Drive by posting since I am need to eat, get my cardio workout in and make brownies before I collapse of sheer exhaustion...

JC went well. Lost 1.5 pounds and was touted as the poster child for JC to a few newb's in the waiting area (including one cute, but very quiet guy). I still need to get used to that type of attention, but it is a start right.

How is everyone else's night going so far? I want details and lots of posts for when I check in later tonight mkay?

Catch you on the flip side.

Paula,

Of course you are the poster child! YOU ARE A SUCCESS STORY!!!!

Kat, perhaps Lyz can explain what od'ing on Fiber One does to you. Oh, so fun. :rotfl:

So, two weight loss related things from me:

1. I hate Hostess cakes. Twinkies are never going to tempt me again. There was a single serving one I bought a while ago and ate and it's GROSS. So sad. But good.

2. We bought a Wii Fit. So now I can exercise even easier at home!

3. I AM doing the 5k. For sure. So now I have a goal.

4. I like numbering things.

5. This is more than two.

6. I like going on and one like this.

7. Time to go have the Wii Fit non-person yell at me.

BTW, there is nothing funnier than watching shoes hit your spouse in the head. Wii Fit is fun for the whole family! And yes, I have kept my 4 yr old up past her bedtime so we can all laugh and play.

:surfweb: <-- I love this smiley thing. heh

Ok, I guess I'll divulge a little more about myself to the board. Firstly, I'm about 5'9" tall and I am not muscular at all. It would probably help me out a bit if I'd work out. But, I'm lazy as hell. :thumbsup2

On to weight loss stuff! I'll try to keep it as short as possible. Like I said before, I've struggled with my weight for most of my life. When I was around the age of 4-5 years old, I was a very skinny frail looking kid, but, for whatever reason, around the age of 9 years old I began to balloon. And, that started the struggle and going to public school was pure hell and I suffered the stereotypical bullying and ostracism of your average fat kid. Which, led to the thing with trying different ways to lose weight. I tried everything and like the usual story goes, none of it worked. There again, it's hard to say whether the programs didn't work or not. It's more like I didn't stick to any of them long enough to see if I could lose more than four or five pounds. Upon giving up I'd shortly gain back the weight I'd lost plus five pounds. Did that up until about 2000. Then I had the nearest thing to success in weight loss. I did the Atkins diet and went from about 220 to 155 pounds during the course of about a year. My pride was only matched by my horrendous constipation. :rotfl2: Which I'm sure any recovering Atkins-holics in here are familiar with. But, like every time before, I got off the diet and I exploded. So, as I mentioned before, I was visited by the Ghost of Christmas Fat upon realizing that I weighed 235 pounds. That was about three years ago now. So, I decided 'no more so called diets, no more fads, no more excuses' and began trying different things to see what worked for me and what I was comfortable with. Most importantly, though, what I thought I could live with for the rest of my life. And, here I am three years later in the neighborhood of 65 pounds lighter. :wizard:

Next post, I'll talk a little about how I lost the weight and how that's been going. Thanks for reading everyone! :)

P.S. - I'll apologize now for my over use of commas, run-on sentences and beginning sentences with conjunctions. :rotfl:

Don't you hate when you step on the board it goes "OH!" like you weigh a million pounds... maybe its just cuz I am heavy... LOL...

So the joys of sharing a house with a mother came tonight... Didn't get to do cardio max because my mother just had to eat chipotle and watch Indiana Jones... ARGH! So I decided to go try out my new running shoes... I did 1.83 miles total from door step and back... I jogged 0.47 of it and power walked the rest which was 1.36... Did it in about 25-30 minutes... Best I can figure I jogged a 12 min/mile and walked a 17 min/mile... I am kinda disappointed but at least I did it and it was the first time I've jogged since high school.. Next week Will is going to work with me more (he was in track in high school)... Anywho nap time!!!

I can totally relate... I remember in about 3rd grade the neighborhood boys thought it was funny to call me a beached whale anytime we went swimming... Keep in mind I wasn't even that heavy yet... But it just caused it to get worse and worse... Memories eh??

Yeah, I have no idea what your talking about.

I didn't get it either - but truthfully here. Who would have expected me to? :confused3

Nancy - That's great to know. Totally random. But whatever. I love Cinnabon Pecan Rolls.

ummm. yeah. I guess I'm all about random sharing. :rolleyes1

Stay warm - I hear that Erika has the inside line on all things fleece and Nancy has the same for flannel....

Hey. If that's what it takes to keep me warm? :rotfl: I will not, however, proclaim to have "dressy flannel" to wear to church.

It is about 65 today and sunny and beautiful.

:cool1: Nice! Now *that's* why you moved to N.C.!:lovestruc

Here is the article/link: http://www.weightwatchers.com/util/art/index_art.aspx?tabnum=1&art_id=35501

gonna check that out.

Eventually I will post pics of the other two bathrooms that we did (the master bath and the kids' bath). And this summer we are doing the guest bath and that is definitely one place I will use Lyz's towel cubby!

Seriously? Your t.p. is folded in points?

Lyz, you can't hang a picture?? Plans a whole home and garden show, but can't hammer a nail... :goodvibes

:lmao:

I am getting nervous...

You are totally going to ROCK that ice. :woohoo:

that's my biggest fear of DIY hair color. That it won't be right. :scared1: I know it's only hair, and it'll grow out.....but my family is merciless. We feed on the weak around here ya know. I would never EVER hear the end of it! :sad2:

Maybe I have reverse blonde syndrome today? I feel slow on the uptake...

:rotfl2:

Paula, you are amazing. :cheer2: Do you mind me asking what your total loss has been? Seems like you've been dropping right and left lately. SO proud of you.

AND you are getting in people's heads. Embrace the dark side :darth

:rotfl2: Love your list!

hmmm....Dawn. Thought I quoted you, but it's gone now :confused3 Yes, indeed. If there is any question at all about your heart you should most definitely seek a qualified medical opinion before starting any exercise program.

but, just so you know. It doesn't get you off the hook for tracking. :upsidedow

Ok, back from campus. Time to catch up.

PAULA! WOO HOO! That makes you 5 pounds down already for the challenge! You are so kicking this challenge's a$$ and making it your b*tch! :rotfl2: (Yeah, I am in one of those moods! :lmao: )

EriKa! I love that color. I want to call it rust or a terra cotta. What is it?

I have a picture to hang in the bathroom, but I can't get hubs to do it. bah.

And you have an industrial Purel hand sanitizer on your wall!!! Who's brain child is that?

(The towel cubby and cabinets are custom made. I sleep with my contractor. Just sayin'.)

The color is Ben Moore Audubon Russet (which you once called Highway Potato, remember? :lmao: ). But yes, it is somewhat terra cotta-ish. And I totally why you had to wait for B to hang the pic before you explained it in a later post. Ha! And I also assumed that he built the towel cubby! S'ok, J is a woodworker/furniture maker as well, so I will make him do it.

Ok the hand sanitizer mounted on the wall. First, I totally knew that YOU would be the one to comment on that! (I was on the phone with Liz and told her to expect that comment and she was like, "Already done!" Hi lar ious!) So about 2 years ago Kelly was in the hospital--Boston Children's--and seriously, every 12 feet in the hallways there is one of these mounted on the wall. Every. 12. feet. And in her room, which was a private room, there FOUR in that room alone. And J was in heaven! :rotfl2: (For those that don't know, my husband is the ultimate germaphobe.) OMG, whenever he would walk down the hall to get something or ask a nurse something or whatever, I swear he would hit everyone he passed!

So anyway, a month or two later it was Father's Day. And yes, I got him 4 of those wall-mounted things. :lmao: One for each bathroom. And he would love one in the kitchen as well, but we don't have any wall space there to hang one (thankfully). So now it is an inside joke. And an awesome conversation starter when people come over!

BTW, I was also waiting for you to comment on the tp roll!

Lyz said exactly what I meant. I totally understand that. I was just wondering.

Oh, and grey? I don't know this color. :lmao:

:surfweb: <-- I love this smiley thing. heh

P.S. - I'll apologize now for my over use of commas, run-on sentences and beginning sentences with conjunctions. :rotfl:

Thanks for the info! What an awesome loss!

And a man who can talk grammar! Makes me swoon! :rotfl2:

LisaV--awesome victory! I am so super proud of you!

Lyz--you have been running? You didn't think I would let that go, did you? Details. Like now.

Hamstring...felt much better after resting all day. So I did just a SMALL ride on the bike. To test it out. :rotfl: I only did 13 miles and at a nice and easy pace of 15.5 mph. See? Nice and easy. I am capable. But I am going to go ice it soon and then wrap it tomorrow when I have to do some errands, etc. I am not going to run tomorrow either. I am, however, going to do my first training swim :scared1: .

P.S. - I'll apologize now for my over use of commas, run-on sentences and beginning sentences with conjunctions. :rotfl:

No worries. No grammer police here. Thankfully :scared:

BTW...anyone know what happened to the little "cop" simley? I can't find him! I so totally wanted to use him, and he's MIA. Bet that banana scared him away ;)
