Crap....does that make me one of the oldsters?![]()
Okay, here comes the fun/exciting/scary part of my day. We found out at practice tonight that our first game of the tournament (which is against another team in the Raleigh women's hockey organization that I belong to) has been moved... to an NHL arena!!!
Ive never heard of Cake the band! I thought you meant food!![]()

Points 26
Water 6
My house is blissfully empty and quiet.
P.S. I am wearing my size 4 jeans today. They are a bit snug, but not too bad. Also just out of the wash, so I am going to wear them for a bit and see if I can actually put them back in circulation!![]()
I'm going to track today for the first time ever. Hope I do it right.
Kelly - be careful on that ice. Hang in there Spring is coming.
Kel- I saw London on the news yesterday. You guys were pretty much paralyzed by that storm, yes?![]()
Nancy - I expect a full report on your training session. Hope it wasn't too painful.
The trainer was sick. So we worked out without her, but doing one of the workouts she gave us. Actually, the very first one we ever did. The one where I couldn't walk for days after!![]()
It was primarily lower body. Quad extensions, squats on the Smith machine, walking lunges (weighted), squat jumps, wall squats. Then we did pull ups, push ups, lat pulls, cable cross-overs (chest) biceps - concentration curls and straight up alternating curls, ab work, including weighted planks.
That took us just over an hour, including warm-up time. Then I hit the elliptical for 30 minutes at a moderate intensity, then cool down and stretch.
We've been enjoying working with the trainer, but both agreed that twice a week is really hard for us, mostly because of the time. Getting there in time to warm up for a 7am appointment when you have to get kids off to school is challenging. After our 10 session package is done, I think we are going to get another - but only meet once a week for 10 weeks. That will give us more time on our own to incorporate some of the exercises that she taught us into our own workouts. We'll see.
Hope your session tonight with Jesse is awesome!
We are going to be playing where the 'Canes play! Sure, it seats 18,000 and we will have like 10 people there watching, but still. I will get to change in the same locker room as an NHL team, play on ice where all 30 NHL teams have played. SOOOO exciting!!!![]()

You may have heard some of their songs, just not realized the name of the band. Most of their music though isn't really "mainstream".
But just to be clear, yes I did tell Liz that I love "Cake". But I do indeed also love cake.![]()
Good Morning!
Paula - Congrats on the lost pounds and inches! I think I might have to find a tape measure and do that.

Need to work on water today and make sure I get all of my points in. Seems like if I don't eat something that isn't really good for me I have a really hard time making it to 28 points.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Morning! All of these early birds these days!![]()
My house is blissfully empty and quiet. I am going to power through some work FIRST for a change and try to get things done in the right priority order.
Sunny! Great job yesterday! Way to go! What day of the week do you weigh in? Are you going to meetings or just doing WW online?
Kat--super cool about the arena! Take TONS of pics!
Lisa/PR--great job yesterday, though I am sure you were exhausted.
I'll pop back in later.
Good Morning Everybody!
We have another round of snow coming through today and nearly everybody just got their power back Sunday.Hopefully, it won't be as bad as last week. Today is the kid's first day back to school on a normal schedule and it is strange! We live on a deadend street, so there is still a bunch of ice and slush on the road. Ryan is going to be unhappy, but I am taking him. If I slid last night, there is no doubt he will.
I'm going to track today for the first time ever. Hope I do it right.
See ya after work!
Kat - How exciting to be playing on the NHL ice. That is totally sweet... Enjoy every minute of it and be sure to take some pictures so the rest of us can live vicariously through you. I can't wait to hear all about this tournament.
...
Lisa PR - Thanks for the rockin words. I am so excited about having everything finally click that I can't quite put it into words. Hiring the trainer was the best thing I could have done for myself right now. So worth the money for the confidence, the strength, the everything. The weight loss is the added bonus, but the way I am feeling right now is truly priceless.
Frustrating day today.
I was supposed to have a training session this morning. My partner & I arrived to discover the trainer has the flu and had to cancel. She didn't have our phone #'s at home with her for some reason or other - so we didn't find out until we got to the gym.
Ok. Fine. No big deal really. Except that we wouldn't have gotten up at some God-awful hour to get there for a 7:00 session. We kicked each others butts instead. I was at the gym a full 2 hours. Awesome workout. My day is looking up!![]()
Then I get home. There's a message on my machine. They are closing school EARLY due to "impending inclement weather".Once again, another week where my kids don't have a full week of classes. This is getting really old.
Enough complaining - off to read what I've missed from last night/this morning.
Go cut a 14" ribbon for yourself and hang it from the fridge and get one for your key chain! that is a huge amount...so proud of your accomplishments!Hi everyone,
weight lost - 3.5 pounds (OMG - I am still in shock about that)
measurements (won't post the specifics, but will post the number of inches lost from when I started in Sept. '07 until now:
bust: -1.5"
waist: -4"
abdomen: -6"
hips: -2.5"
Total inches lost: 14"
I was stunned at the abdomen change. That is my biggest problem area so I'll be looking for that to keep going down.
I am off to take something for my headache and then tackle my taxes. Hope everyone is having a good night.!
I'll check in later,
Paula
I have the best mechanic joke...Oh, for any of those inquiring minds out there...spent some more time with my mechanic last night (watching TV, get your mind out of the gutter).lol
He did great. So proud of his willingness to make do with a bad situation.Love Trader Joes, but they aren't around here. Can't wait to see pics of the new addition! I am so glad that somebody else knows what a tukkus is. Some of the college kids at work think I am an idiot when I say that.
![]()
Love that store! And I say tukkus more often than I type "..."![]()
Awesome for Baylor! I am sure that was tough mentally on him.
Dawn, Yay for Baylor and hockey. It has to take some super guts to do what he is doing! I got a tear in my eye just reading about the game. The Princess 2010 should be 3/7. It is daylight savings weekend which kind of bites. Instead of getting up at 3 though, you will be getting up at 4.
Pencil it in. If you go, I will make every effort in the world to be there too.

Ummm...there may be a wedding that next week...I will know more soon enough and let you know...
Trader Joes, we don't have them here. Heck we are happy to have stores!! No just kidding. When I stayed with Joanne (Groovygirls) for the Hollis HM she had these totally awesome cinnamon rolls that you take out frozen and let rise overnight to humongoness. They were beyond delicious and hit the spot after the HM for sure. Well that and the apple crisp that you get.![]()
My kids love those caramel rolls. I make them here at least once a month! I add pecans and create a caramel sauce for the botom of the pan!
Ok. Fine. No big deal really. Except that we wouldn't have gotten up at some God-awful hour to get there for a 7:00 session. We kicked each others butts instead. I was at the gym a full 2 hours. Awesome workout. My day is looking up!![]()
So you can just pay each other for the beatings and cut out the middle man?![]()

When are these kids going to get out of school? July by now? So frusterating!
I agree! IV port for carbs in my arm I swear. Yet the tracking is making me aware in ways I have never really gotten before. New dedication!Dawn!!! You ate meals!!! Way to go!!!![]()
I did and I have done okay today as well. Really that cereal is great and a no think breakfast!
(I've been known to eat chips and dip for lunch. I get the meals being a big deal.)
I know! I have Skyler and Ace. My world is good.Awww he is adorable. I love puppies.
And I'm glad he's been good birth control. I was worried about your head a few months back.
I do want more veggies and fruits. I enjoy them a lot. Yet at the homestead right now is unripe plums and bananas. These kids I have eat me out of house and home which is a good thing esp. when it comes to fresh veggies and fruits but my food budget is going to have to do some alterations.Dawn--great job staying within your range and tracking! Both are great steps. But, um....hello? Fruits? Veggies? Anything with vitamins?Maybe that is the next food step for you...to stay within your range AND make healthy choices. Treats are great, but the whole point of treat is that it is a once-in-a-while thing.
Dawn, I am going to disagree with Erika here. Or if not disagree, then air my point of view.
I am SUPER proud of you for eating meals. This is huge for you! And I want you to be proud of it. And I want you to be able to post your food, no matter what it looks like. Treats, for instance. I have a treat every day. Is that the best way to go? Maybe not, but it works for me. What doesn't work is FIVE treats a day - and I've done that and look at my ticker - weight gain.
This is personal for me. I have spent a fair part of my life trying to be perfect. Always always Perfect. It's impossible, and it doesn't make me happy. It doesn't last. I have to be real, and real is not perfect.
You have not always owned your choices, but you are making baby steps to own them now. Writing down your food - huge. Owning what you eat - huge. Owning WHY you eat it - that's another step, that maybe you are in the process of taking. I am still learning to do that. Owning not being perfect - go for it. Be honest. That's what counts, that's what works.
For me, anyway.
