In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

Hi again...I am picking up the puppy today...so good suprise for kids and will have to post pics...

I will start with my food and excersize at a slower rate...and the conversation piece is good advice E - keep that at the forefront...

Glad kiddos are okay...they think it is cool...:rotfl2:

Dan started Sparkpeople...he is supposed to be at at least 2600 calories up to over 3,000...so huge descrepency for us...and he needs to make sure he is eating enough...because usually he doesn't...

Okay...off for a great day...hope all of you stay warm and safe!:)

Oh, and the accident wasn't really terrifying. If it has been really bad, we would have heard sirens and all of that, so I knew it wasn't too bad. Mostly worried as to whether or not the kids were freaked out or scared. And again, they thought it was cool. Go figure.

Popping in with a sort of random question:

With the 30 day shred, is the intent that you are supposed to do it 30 days in a row? It doesn't really specify on the DVD.

Erika-Glad the kids are okay and that they were not freaked out!:goodvibes

Run, strength, and core all done! I think I will do a double session today and go to the gym this evening. My run was horrid. Not due to me having a bad run or an off day...the roads are 3" of slush. It just sucked.

Off to get some protein in my bod.

Good question. I bought this DVD and a few others and am ashamed to admit that I haven't even opened the box yet. I'll open it tonight and see what info is packed with it and let you know.

Hope everyone is having a good day today. Things are going all right here. Work is keeping me pretty busy (a good thing) and I have my training appointment tonight (a very good thing). I am pretty tired today so I need to fuel up for this one. It is going to take some sheer determination and will to get through it. I am strong so I'll get through it right? I need to keep telling myself to push through. It is a mental workout as much as a physical one right. I did tell my trainer that on Tuesday. I explained that the mental games have started and that I am working on visualizing myself doing the things he is asking me to do for the long haul. It is not something I am used to but it is getting easier. He looked concerned at first, but he seems to get it since he talked a little about how hard it is to change, reminded me of how far I have come and nudged a little about how much further I can go. Hearing about the potential I have is a great motivator so far. The fact that my recently purchased jeans are starting to feel loose and droop in the butt again is another great one. (I may need to take up a collection to buy new jeans again - I'll call it the stop the droopy bummocks fund :rotfl: ).

Forgot to mention this earlier to Kelly - thanks for waking up the thread this morning. Now if I could only get you to do personal wake up calls, I could maybe get to work on time...

Back to work for me...
Paula

Cool - now I don't have to ask you... one more thing off of my to do list.

Good afternoon, everybody!

Well, we're happy today in Maryland because the kids are finally going back to school -- after a planned day off Monday, and 2 unplanned snow days on Tuesday and Wednesday. I was a little concerned, but they sent them in today with a 2 hr delay to give the ice a chance to melt. Thank goodness -- if I hear DD complain how bored she is one more time....... ;)

I did not really exercise yesterday, but I worked on stuff for my class for next session -- I like picking out good music and finding cool ways to work with it. Didn't sweat, though, so I'm looking forward to a good workout tonight.

The snacking did me no favors yesterday, so I am making a better effort today. And I have to use a float holiday tomorrow or else I'll lose it, so I'm looking forward to a day of doing whatever floats my boat.

Hugs to all of you with colds and have a great day! :wave2:

Lisa Z, tell us more. Class? Work? Also, I would so love pictures of the newbies. I promise to post pics of myself, too. And the rest - new pictures? Just for fun?

An example of my food...

Breakfast:
Kashi waffles, fresh strawberries, maple syrup. 4.5 pts
Lunch:
I was starving so first I ate a prepared salad I made the other day, so I could think.
Avocado, tomato, and pepper salad 4.5 pts (for avocado)
Vegetable soup, 0 pts
Ham and swiss panini - homemade, good bread, mustard, low sodium Boar's Head ham, alpine swiss - low fat, 6.5 pts.

So already i have had protein, whole grains, and 4 servings of fruit and veggies. And I ate a LOT of food, really, but nicely spread out. Like, salad. Think. Then soup. Then I made Emily's lunch and did some stuff and then I had a panini.

For dinner I will have shrimp and pasta and then a small snack sometime in there. And if I need to, I will borrow some points from my weekly points.

Not perfect - did I need all that food for lunch? Maybe I should have had an orange instead of the avocado - but good.

Also, let me say this. Unless you are an elite athlete, you don't need to worry sooo much about the workout food. You know? Like, maybe Erika and Lisa PR and Amy and Nancy do, but me? Um, not so much. Most of that stuff you hear is for people at a certain level. Sure, do what works for you but don't eat like Micheal Phelps.

I just need to eat right, get my protein in, and eat my veggies. I don't need to counter balance because I don't do anything that is super taxing. Also, like Paula said, when I start a program, I hold off on the exercise portion. Even this week, my first back on WW in like SIX weeks, I am holding off on my serious exercise program. My mind can't wrap around all that at once. It's food, food, food choices right now. Next week it will maybe be water. Then the exercise. Erika pointed this out, too. One thing down, then move on. Now, I could go back to my schedule next week, for sure, because I have been building up, But even I am not going full force, 3 spin classes a week, two yogas, and running with some weights. Like, too much too soon.

Pictures coming up.

I love pics..Here's some

I don’t think I posted this one yet, me in front of Biltmore house at Christmas time.

And another in front of a frozen waterfall. This was on the blue ridge parkway in graveyard fields. It was freaking cold and I was so hungover (new years day) and after 2 minutes in the cold I felt better.

(and yes, I LOVE LOVE my blue lands end puffy vest!)

And one of me and Little D from mid-july. I think it shows the weight that I have lost in my face since then.

And since I don’t think I ever posted one, a wedding pic!

WOW Awesome pics. You are so pretty. And the weight loss!!! I SO see it. Rock on, girlfriend. I am jealous of your skinny legs!!!

OMG, Amy! I totally see it. Looks great! You are ready for a "before" and "in progress" side-by-side post. Your loss is that noticeable.

I use (as do many authors) perceived exertion. Which just means listen to how you feel.

Exactly what I was thinking! Good examples of that in Oprah's book w/ Bob Greene - "Make the Connection"

Kids' school bus was in an accident this morning.

Yikes! As soon as I hear the word "accident" I get all crazed :crazy2: Details! Give me DETAILS. Don't just tell me there was an accident. My mind always goes to the worst possible scenario first. Always.

KELLY!!! EAT the biscuit!

Seriously.

:rotfl:

She is SO not kidding. Eat it. Or something. Believe me, if you don't? It can get ugly. Let's just say college student, blood bank, happy hour. :scared1: I literally had to be picked up off the floor and fed something. Learned my lesson the hard way.

Double session PLUS the gym tonight? Busy girl! :cool1:

I had a "short" exercise day today. Mostly because of a miscommunication here at home. I had an early training session, and the kids had a delayed opening. So I thought I had to come home right after I was done to make sure the kids got off ok so that hubby could get his workout in. WRONG. He has soccer tonight. He wasn't going to the gym this morning. :headache: I coulda stayed and got my usual 1/2 hour of cardio in when I was done with the trainer. Oh well.

It is going to take some sheer determination and will to get through it.

The hardest part is getting there. Once you're there, it'll all fall into place. ::yes::

(I may need to take up a collection to buy new jeans again - I'll call it the stop the droopy bummocks fund :rotfl: ).

:rotfl2: Just say "no" to droopy bummocks!!! :rotfl2:

Well, we're happy today in Maryland because the kids are finally going back to school

Thank GOD, huh? My kids have not had a full, uninterupted week of school since the first week of December. <sigh>

I did not really exercise yesterday, but I worked on stuff for my class for next session -- I like picking out good music and finding cool ways to work with it.

Good music is KEY for me. Gotta have the right tunes to keep me goin'! What's on your current playlist? :confused3

(and yes, I LOVE LOVE my blue lands end puffy vest!)

AMY! I have that EXACT same vest. Same color. Love it. My snot-head daughter mocks me though. 13. Such a lovely age that is. She thinks that the blue is "really, unneccessarily bright". Whatever. At least I don't have to worry about her stealing it from me! ;)

Thanks, Ladies! :goodvibes I have some pics from about a year ago that I will post later on.

My legs were never really fat, but running has definitely toned them down and given them a nicer shape.

Nancy-So funny that you have that vest! I almost bought 2, since they were 19.50 when I got mine, but stopped myself when I remembered I lived in FL! SO funny about your DD too. Bright color puffy vests are SO in!

Delena and I are off to a hair appointment in a bit. I will give up alot of things while I am not working, but I can't give up my hair appointments! :lmao: D needs a trim and I need my color done. Dh is going to pick her up on his way home, so I won't have to worry about her creating havoc at the salon.

Later Ladies!

Oh, right...add that to my list as well. I have no gray. Zero. And have never colored my hair.

See? Maybe I really AM a vampire! :rotfl2:

Kat, get you butt back on here so we can commiserate about Erika and her vampireness. Kay?

No hangovers.
No sleep.
No gray.
Constant energy.
No caffeine.
Impervious to cold weather.

Hmm. Ice cold skin?

Hers is white. Bo-ring! :rotfl:

ya know, if we didn't love her, I think we'd have to hate her :rotfl:

AMY - Love the pictures! Beautiful!

KELLY!!! EAT the biscuit!

Seriously.

It is so awesome that you are going to donate blood - I worked in blood banking for a short time, i ran the volunteer programs, so I know how critical it it.

But please, you are not supposed to exercise afterwards and you need to eat. Promise me you'll read the material they give you! You don't want to get dizzy and fall over, right??? You can have one day of rest. And if you don't want the cookie, bring something of your own. An orange or something, to eat after.

I ate the biscuit. And it was goooood! :rotfl:
It was a very nice vienesse shortbread (not sure if that is spelt right!) and a glass of orange juice! Worth the pint of blood in my opinion! :rotfl2:

I also did NOT do the exercise dvd. I thought about what you said, and with my clumsiness and general falling over I decided to have a day of rest. Plus, DH was at work all day, so if I did fall over no-one would be there to pick me up! So I rested instead then went to play with my niece!
No harm in having a day off!

My day...off to a slow start. Kids' school bus was in an accident this morning. The school didn't call, but our neighbor is on the Fire Dept. and he heard it come over the scanner, so they called me and I went flying out the door. Any sort of trauma can have a different affect on Kelly than it might other kids, so there was that to think about in addition to the whole situation. It was a long time before we heard anything. No big deal. Hit an icy patch and slid into a snow bank and rear-ended another car. No injuries, nothing. The kids thought it was cool.

So, there went two hours out of my day. Now I have to try and play catch up.

Glad the kids are ok. And I find it very funny that they thought it was cool! :rotfl2:

Forgot to mention this earlier to Kelly - thanks for waking up the thread this morning. Now if I could only get you to do personal wake up calls, I could maybe get to work on time...

Paula

Hmm, I could do a wake-up call. I get up for work at 6.30am - if you have a late night I could be waking you up before you get to bed :lmao:

:rotfl:

Oh no! I once saw someone faint giving blood. He was a giant man! His vein 'twanged' when she was putting the needle in he passed out :rotfl2: I ate the biscuit, all was good!

:rotfl2: Just say "no" to droopy bummocks!!! :rotfl2:

Thats my motto! :rotfl:

Nancy - I am so going to the gym tonight. Not going is not an option on training night. I am paying good money for this and I want my beating - I mean workout...

Oh, right...add that to my list as well. I have no gray. Zero. And have never colored my hair.

See? Maybe I really AM a vampire! :rotfl2:

Erika - I am really beginning to believe that you are not human. Are you sure you are not a stepford wife?

I started to turn gray by the time I turned 30. Been coloring for about 5 years now (highlights first, now the whole darn head). My eyebrows are even turning white. Its not fair I tell you - not fair at all...

She is so a vampire... :rolleyes2

Hers is white. Bo-ring! :rotfl:

Can you guess what color my vest is? HUH? HUH? Give you a hint it's my favorite color! Can't guess WELL it is PINK ..... what a shocker there!!!:rotfl2:

go ahead. rub it in.
I know I have had grey for about 10 years! I even have white eye brow hairs come in every now and again! NOT FAIR! Erika are you eternally 39 too?
Erika and Liz thanks for the advise on the ball. I will be buying it this week sometime. THe weather is also getting warmer and I will start walking!

So after much debate, and zac spiking a fever I brought him to the dr. Strep again. (Erika's kids are vampires too, they don't get sick either) I don't mind the wait for prescriptions but really does it REALLY take 1 hour and 45 minutes to fill three scripts??:confused3 :confused3 . Poor Zac felt like crud and was freezing. I wished that I could have driven home with him and then gone back later but the drive is so long. The one pharmacy we have here is rite aid and their prices are a lot higher. Well, for my stuff any how. Rite aid = $10 and shall remain nameless store/ pharmacy that I go to is $4.00

As for tracking I tracked and it wasn't good! I went ot the grocery store hungry and that is never a good thing I bought hot dogs and kielbasa and I ate and ate holy cow did I eat, 28.5 points at lunch! I did minimal damage at dinner I had skinless and boneless chicken breast a 1/3 cup mashed potatoes and corn. for a grand total of 37 points. Leaving me 15 extra points for the weekend!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Yes I am scared because it's the biggest weekend in FOOTBALL and we are having friends over for snacks and turkey(fried) and beer! Oh and to watch the game too!

Ok off to get kid#3 out of shower! Kid #2 just finished. Kid #1 showers in the AM.
