In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

I make really great candy. Have I ever mentioned that? I make the kind you stick in the fridge. It's amazing.

Leftover Candy

1 cup of semi sweet chips
2/4 cup shredded coconut
14 or so walnut halves - if you like
5 or so candy canes

(Get it??? This is the stuff you have leftover from Christmas baking!)

Melt chips in microwave. Stir in coconut, walnuts, and break up candy canes into pieces. Use a teaspoon to layout on wax paper (I use cookie trays with wax paper) and chill in fridge. Should make 24 pieces.

3pts for two.

I have to make a dessert for tomorrow night. A real knock-out. It's for a dessert auction that we do a church every year - part of a fundraiser to help the Youth Group go on their yearly mission trip (you know...where they all descended upon University of Maine @ Machias last year?)

It's gotta be good. I have my reputation to uphold :lmao:

I'm tossing around either a Carmel Apple Pie or a Black Forest Cake. The thing is....a lot of people make some decent desserts - and most people lean toward chocolate. I wanted something different. Not in the mood for making cheesecake (although a nice Bailey's Cheesecake would be amazing ;) )

UGH. Why do I torture myself like this? Why oh why. (and just in case I may have tempted you into getting yourself some Black Forest Cake? Just know that it has between 600-700 calories per slice. :crazy2: )
 
I am having a tough food day. I am on track so far...but temptation is calling me from everywhere today!

I am at about 750 calories, which is high for me this early in the day. I mean, the night is young! And we are going into the week-end!!! This is my alcohol consumption time. The no-alcohol bandwagon has been easy to be on so far since I haven't had to live through a week-end yet. I never (ok, rarely) drink Monday-Thursday so it has been easy-peasy so far. But...the whole long week-end is stretching out before me! :scared:

Ok, gotta get the sproglets off the bus. (That was for you, Kelly! :rotfl2: )
 
Exciting news...

Carsyn approached her doctor...yesterday without any prior knowledge on my part...shocked me senseless in fact...and wants to talk with the Medtronic rep before her surgery...about helping with a video...either from the pediatric standpoint or from Medtronics...that deals with this from a kids POV...the videos to educate the procedure all have adults...no kids...in it..and there are vast differences in the information and who it is geared to. Who knows...maybe she will be on Oprah someday...helping thousands of kids who are to embarrased to talk about it...and hide from it instead of dealing with it...:cheer2:

I weighed in...after having a bowl of pea soup...and I am down...back to 243...Holy Crud batman! I thought I really screwed up...but shows tracking still makes you less splurge infested than no tracking..:cool1:

However, I wanted to let all of the month-ahead packers know that it is roughly 12-13 hours from departure, and I still HAVEN'T PACKED!! Just saying'. :p

Almost all of the snow is gone now. It was in the upper 50s today.

Also, I am 6 posts from 2000. Lyz, you need to catch up!!
 
I'm going to miss you!!! Will you call me from the parks, laughing about the warm weather and happiness while I am in cold and eating rabbit food???
 
Hehe, sure!! I will have internet access, though, and will keep you all updated here as well.

I think it is supposed to be in the mid-70s most of the week.
 
So. You know I've been eating my little heart out, and it's been good.

Well, I'm tracking AND staying to my points this week. I've been tracking for two weeks, just tracking like 50 points a day and stuff.

So here I am, trying not to go over my weekly and daily. It's only Friday and it's hard. I"m hungry.

So I laid out all my dinner stuff. And then I am going to eat dinner and go to bed at like 9pm. So I won't eat. How SAD is that??? OMG. To think last week I was so happy eating!!!!

Bor-ing. But nutritious. ARGH.

I like eating. Remember when I had to break up with candy??? And we JUST got back together!!!

You are so right. I am so out of it today.

As background, it is against my nature to go to bed at 9PM. But, on pre-WDW-trip days, we try to go to bed at 9 or 10 so that getting up between 3 and 5 isn't quite so brutal. So, the day or two beforehand I deliberately sleep-deprive myself so that I can fall asleep early.

Right now, it is the lowest point of the cycle. The end of the workday and I am literally dead tired.

What does this ride DO?? :rotfl2:

Amy, I was behind some teens in line for Space Mtn and one says to the other, What does this ride DO?? And the other said, I don't know, I think this is the one with the Yeti...
 
and what gets me is the woman was holding a freaking guide map which I am sure somewhere stated that Canada had a MOVIE, not a ride. :confused3

Also overheard while at EPCOT. "tomorrow we're going to disney world!". Umm, you are at disney world. I can only assume she meant MK.
 
Those people don't deserve their tickets. Seriously. There should be a quiz at the door. You have to be accompanied by someone who 1. Knows how to read a map. 2. Has heard of Space Mountain. 3. Has done at least an hour of research, including but not limited to, glancing at the plethora of materials made available to you for free.

ZERO points? Gonna have to check them out. Do they taste like anything? Or do they kinda take on the flavor of whatever you cook them with?

They take on whatever you put on them. Sauce, broth, etc. I like to heat them up with a Laughing Cow light garlic wedge. Gives them a nice creamy sauce. Yum.

You have to follow package directions and rinse them well. A few minutes, cold water.
