In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

Nancy, I have a feeling my snow day is different than yours. Mine includes a 22 oz beer and this (yes, this is my patio, from about 30 min ago):

Sounds good to me! But...remember...the whole "wagon" thing? ;) Nope. No beer for me. Instead I get a sparkly sticker on my journal! :upsidedow

Thanks, on the hot tub! We actually got it for free, as an ex-coworker of mine had it sitting broken in his backyard and wanted rid of it. After about $500 and a bunch of ebay-ing and searching the net on how to fix hot tubs, it works great!

Sweet deal!

Not bragging. I love Maine. I really do. It suits me and it is such a great place to raise a family. But I am not a cold weather fan at all. I am outdoorsy, sure. But much prefer WARM outdoors.

I hear ya! I'm not a big fan of either extreme - too hot/humid or too cold. But the nice thing about where I am - we get variety, that's for sure.

Hard part will be eating well, they always order out stromboli one night, and eat strip steak & potatoes on saturday. Yum, but baaaaaad for my waist! I'll have to kick up with willpower!

Have fun - and enjoy...just enjoy responsibly. :thumbsup2

Watching Biggest Loser. That "jump rope" style challenge was awesome. Well...except Joelle. ZERO jumps :faint: I'd be horrified

Hey E, just imagine if it were 75 where you were? You would totally be taking pics of you and yours in bathing suits at the beach in Jan. Just sayin'. ;)

OMG, totally.

WHY oh WHY does Joelle get to stay?!?! I hope Carla comes back and kicks her a$$!

Nancy - aren't you supposed to be sewing, or at least cutting?

Yeah, probably. :rolleyes1 But I wanted to watch BL...and cutting while yelling at Joelle = recipe for disaster :lmao: Boy oh boy. Joelle and Carla? What a mess those two are. :sad2: Just screamin' at each other? If I were Bob I would have demanded combat pay for that visit! :rolleyes2 Can't believe that they voted for Damien. Carla's gonna come back and open up a giant can of whoop-a$$ on Joelle. :scared:

Time to check in with my day:

28 points for today.

Exercise - 60 minutes strength training (with trainer at the gym) followed by 30 minutes on the bike...for a totaly of 90 minutes. Not sure where that takes me for my challenge total - I have it noted in my journal, but that's not in front of me right now...I'll update that tomorrow.

Alcohol=zero. :cheer2:

Ok...that was me. DAWN...time to hear from you sweetheart. You wanted accountablity...so....SPILL IT! ;) ....time step into the confessional, dear. Let's hear it all...the good, the bad...the ugly....whatever it was.

He didn't get scouted by them Paula. That's why he deferred his scholarship and is playing hockey in Boston. He so wants to play. And hopes to be scouted by them now for September. He knew that doing a walk on tryout would get him nowhere because of the strong reputation. Hopefully, he'll get seen and picked up. He'll go to RPI no matter what happens though.

I would love information on the area when you have time Paula. Would love that.

I am on it... I am also thinking good thoughts for his scouting prospects...

Oh - forgot to mention this earlier - congrats to Jean on the new position. What fantastic news for you both...

Paula - you so rock. You are turning into a freakshow.

I know. Scary isn't it...

Lyz - I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. I hope everything goes well. :grouphug:

Oh - btw...Paula...you do realize that is a compliment, right? :cheer2: :cheer2:

I did... frightening right??? Now if my quads would stop yelling at me for yesterday life would be good... Glad to hear that your sessions are going well. I am loving the fact that I am being pushed out of my comfort zone. I mean, I am starting to look forward to doing pushups. Jesse calls me the pushup machine since I just crank them out. Not quite ready to drop to the next level, but soon.

Erika - I even did ab work last night. Me and the bosu ball had some quality time together. How is your core workout going?

Stacey - welcome back. Glad all is going well at school. Have fun this weekend.

Dawn - ugh on the house issues. There is nothing worse than when the utilities go down. Makes people really cranky.

Kat - snow day is over and it is time to go back to work (sorry, but someone had to tell you that...) Glad you had fun though.

Liz - I am trying to fit a day full of inaugural images and messages into 30 minutes online. I am on overload, but loving every minute of it...

Amy - D is just too cute...

Kelly - How did the Disco workout go? Are you scaring the neighbors yet?

Aimee - what time does the party start? I am on my way

Jena - how are you???

oh shoot, I don't have my cheat sheet and feel like I am forgetting someone... now I remember...

Steph - where are you? Do I need to come up there and hunt you down?

Lisa PR - I'm sure you are sleeping now since you get up so dang early. We'll hear from you in the AM.

Off to go comfort my parents' dog. Poor guy ruptured a tendon in his hind leg is one hurting puppy. Looks like some surgery for him.

Take care everyone and I'll chat with you tomorrow,
Paula

Argh! I keep trying to catch my nephew on tv and they keep going to commercial right as they are about to show him! (He is in the Air Force Academy Band...the Air Force's equivalent to West Point...and they are playing at the Joint Cheif's Ball.)

Erika - I even did ab work last night. Me and the bosu ball had some quality time together. How is your core workout going?

See??? This is why I need you guys! Thanks, Paula! As soon as I read that post, I went and immediately did a core workout! :thumbsup2

Today:

Food = 1360 calories, all tracked
Exercise = bike 14 miles, run 2 miles, core (990/1500)

Argh! I keep trying to catch my nephew on tv and they keep going to commercial right as they are about to show him! (He is in the Air Force Academy Band...the Air Force's equivalent to West Point...and they are playing at the Joint Cheif's Ball.)

Exciting. :goodvibes

I don't get it. Am I missing something? I felt like I was missing something. Did they just feel sorry for her?

Were they paid off to keep on the drama on? :lmao: ;)

Me either Liz. I'm happy for those who are on, but I'm not even close. I'm not in a funk, I'm just not in taking care of myself mode. I think I need a break. Cause all I'm doing is beating myself up for not being on.

Paula, great job on the loss, woo hoo.

I have next to no time today. Seriously. My sister is having surgery tomorrow. With a week long hospital stay afterwards. Please pray for her and her doctor, today and tomorrow. I'd so much appreciate it.

And, because I have no time, a lady from church called me today wanting info about a trip, leaving on Feb 14! (Other people found out she was going and hadn't done any planning and told her she must call "Lyz" :lmao: ) They looked on the computer for the first time last night. I'm putting something together for them. The budget is high, so I should be able to find something.

OH - and I have 2 pairs of jeans I wear. Just found a worn out hole in the crotch of todays pair. Great.

Poor Hilary.

:hug:to you and your family. Please let us know how the surgery goes.

I'm always a bit suspicious of those things....and the body wrap? How can that really be good for you? And I'm sure it's not true weight loss..:sad2:

I actually had a wrap before, but not the lose inches kind. Mine was to help extremely dry skin. It helped tremedously, but I don't see how the other ones could cause somebody to lose inches miraculously.

Aimee, have a good day at work!

Thank you!

Morning Ladies!

A CHILLY CHILLY day here in FL. Well, chilly for us anyhow. :rotfl:

Little D and I are watching the inauguration festivities on TV. Not that she has any clue as to what is going on, but I think it is important.

Also preparing to make strawberry jam this afternoon.

Paula, WTG on the weight loss!!

To everyone who is ON, you are my inspiration and motivation to get there. :goodvibes I am halfway there. Food has actually been fine for the last week, other than the strawberry shortcake I ate on Sunday. I am hoping to get back to my exercise this week. I am going to start with some pilates/core stuff today. I am also going to restart C25K again this week. It will be the 3rd time I have done it, and I find it's a good plan to keep me on track. I will probably add on some more repetitions of the intervals they recommend, since I'm not starting from zero this time. And a long run on the weekends of course.

Have a good day everyone!

Oh, homemade jam. Yum! Bet it would taste good on some warm rolls.

I am so not on either. I promise that I will get back on starting the day after I get back from WDW.

Sorry I haven't been around. Just totally in a funk. I think I am crawling my way out of it but I really do apologize for not posting more.

Today, my friends, is a SNOW DAY!!! :cheer2:

We don't get them often here. This is the first measurable snowfall in this area in like 3-4 years. Right now we have about 4-5" on the ground. And before you all laugh about why I am working from home, remember that we have NO plows and NO salt. My cul-de-sac is completely pristine, has not been touched.

For those that might be interested, here are pics:
http://s295.photobucket.com/albums/mm130/katcanes77/snow/

These are out my front door and my back patio door. Including the 9 mo old kitten going, what is THAT??

So, today I sit on the chaise lounge, don't go anywhere, and enjoy being safe and warm. :thumbsup2

OMG! Your cat looks very frustrated! Poor baby!

Hang in there! I am a firm believer that everybody needs to do their own thang every now and then.

You might be surprised at this, but I agree with Liz (not that THAT is the surprising part!), but that if you need to give in, then give in. Like, this is important sh*t and you just have to get through it. Whatever it takes, you know? And we'll be here on the other side to help deal with it.

Awesome philosophy!

Amiee - glad to hear about the detox. I was frightened. :crazy2:

Yes, very scary that people would do this without batting an eyelash.

Here is Delena in our room at POR last weekend. She is supposed to be napping here. I caught her peeking around the curtain. We put her pack n play in the sink area since it has a curtain that goes in front of it.

IMG_5809.JPG

So adorable. I think I see a hint of mischief too. :lmao:

Paula, YOU GO!! I am so proud of you.

Lisa, RPI is definitely a good school. I did a fellowship there in college.

Amy, SUCH a cute picture!!

E, snowshoeing. Yeah. For the one day every 5 years that we get a measurable amount of snow!! We did get 6" though, I measured!! :rotfl:

Nancy, I have a feeling my snow day is different than yours. Mine includes a 22 oz beer and this (yes, this is my patio, from about 30 min ago):

I am so envious of your hot tub.

I did... frightening right??? Now if my quads would stop yelling at me for yesterday life would be good... Glad to hear that your sessions are going well. I am loving the fact that I am being pushed out of my comfort zone. I mean, I am starting to look forward to doing pushups. Jesse calls me the pushup machine since I just crank them out. Not quite ready to drop to the next level, but soon.

Keep it up! I don't know about looking forward to pushups though. :sad2:

Aimee - what time does the party start? I am on my way

About 11:30am central on Jan 30th. It's a Friday. We will at least have pizza and wings. The reps are bringing other types of tailgate/finger foods. Come on down! Although, we might hand you a headset, lol. :rolleyes1

I am stoked ~ just found a new Boca burger flavor at my local store tonight. Mozzerella Mushroom. Yum! Can't wait to try it tomorrow.

Have a 'date' this weekend. Not really, but I am lucky enough to have a dear guy friend who is runs a service dept for a local car dealership. I desperately need a brake job and he is going to take care of it if I fix him some grub. That's a price I am willing to pay! Who says bartering doesn't exist any more?

Argh! I keep trying to catch my nephew on tv and they keep going to commercial right as they are about to show him! (He is in the Air Force Academy Band...the Air Force's equivalent to West Point...and they are playing at the Joint Cheif's Ball.)

So exciting!! Did you see him?!? I have goosebumps!

LisaV ~ How did your niece do?? Goosebumps again!

Kelly - How did the Disco workout go? Are you scaring the neighbors yet?

Disco workout was excellent, I did they whole DVD :cool1:
I do feel for my neighbour who saw me do it through the window - me, sweaty and disco dancing wearing lycra gym pants is an unfortunate image that he'll never be able to remove from his brain :sad2:

:rotfl2:

Ive said it once and I'll say it again - if he didn't want to see it, he shouldn't have looked through the window! :lmao:

Amy - Cute picture!

Everyone - :wave2:

Food so far today:

Breakfast - coco pops and skimmed milk
Snack - Apple and snack a jacks
Lunch (just about to have) - Prawn and pasta salad

Water - 3 glasses so far!

tonight Im making a healthy chicken curry and brown rice :upsidedow

Jesse calls me the pushup machine since I just crank them out. Not quite ready to drop to the next level, but soon.

:thumbsup2 Rockin' the push ups! AWESOME!

Erika - I even did ab work last night. Me and the bosu ball had some quality time together. How is your core workout going?

;) ahhh...good call, Paula..:goodvibes No slacking, Erika...Paula is on top of things here
Off to go comfort my parents' dog. Poor guy ruptured a tendon in his hind leg is one hurting puppy. Looks like some surgery for him.

Poor puppy.

Cool! Did you ever get to see him? :confused3

I don't get it. Am I missing something? I felt like I was missing something. Did they just feel sorry for her?

Were they paid off to keep on the drama on? :lmao: ;)

Oh, I sure hope that they aren't getting "paid off"....or encouraged to vote in any one way vs. another :sad2: I think they realize that Damien has what it takes to go home and be successful, and Joelle? yeah - not even close. And her reaction? I'm not sure what to think. She looked almost defeated - like "*crap* I can't believe I have to be here another week"

:drive: Isn't it great to have friends like that...."Bartering"...still alive and well in our neck of the woods.

Disco workout was excellent, I did they whole DVD :cool1:
I do feel for my neighbour who saw me do it through the window - me, sweaty and disco dancing wearing lycra gym pants is an unfortunate image that he'll never be able to remove from his brain :sad2:

Well - that's what they get for watching! :rotfl:

Have a great day all....Lyz...thinking of you :flower3:

Playing HOCKEY in BOSTON!! WOW! that is awesome!!!!
Steph - where are you? Do I need to come up there and hunt you down?
Yes Paula you can come and hunt me down anytime!

So it was a LONG weekend! Ok a question for those of you with more than ONE child.... Do you kids fight with each other??? Are mine the only children in the world that fight with each other when they are tired? My brother and his girlfriend seem to think so and they had a FIT they my boys were fighting in front of their son? So I spent more time at my other brothers house (the one who doesn't have kids) But that was Boring for my kids! Now I know why I don't go home as often anymore! Way to much DRAMA!
So I left from Boston around 11am on Monday got home and Stephen had dinner ready for us (thank god) and showers and getting everything ready for school and I went to bed at 930 pm. Yesterday I watched all my shows that I missed while in boston and then got ready to take Tyler to the allergist in Saranac Lake! I totally wished that Paula was living there were could have done lunch. Since I hadn't of eaten ANYTHING ALL DAY it it was now 300 pm. I managed not to stop and grab a bag of junk, I waited to get home and have dinner which was cooking in the crock pot.
After dinner I was watching the local news and all they talked about was the new president. They interviewed at least 100 people asking for their thoughts I heard the police scanner go off (yes I am really nosey) and they said that there was a mandatory debriefment for the accident from Monday night. I thought it was weird that I saw NOTHING on the news about it. But I didn't think much stephen said it was some guy that got killed the name didn't ring any bells with him. Then around 7 my mom came over with the look of horror on her face. The guy that got killed was a friend of the kids from when they were little and my mothers neighbor. He was 16 years old and had just got his drivers license 3 months ago. I guess he hit a snow drift and lost control of the car and hit a truck head on. I haven't seen any of the papers and it hasn't been on the news But the kids are devastated, he was in my nephews class and I think all of the older kids in the family knew him, Sam skated with him and his sister and Nate did boys scouts with him. So it will be a tough few days for us. So thoughts and prayers for the family.

Morning Everybody!!

:wave2:

It's another depressing gray day. I'm here, but not here. :sad2:

Lyz ~ thinking of you today!

I think I am retaining water. My fingers are really puffy today. Haven't been eating bad, but have no idea why it's happening.

Off to pre-school and work.

Morning! I have Cammie home with me today. She just wanted a personal day, so I let her take it. (Yes, I give my kids "personal days"...I mean, as adults we desperately need one from time to time, so why wouldn't our kids?)

Just got a text from Lyz (she's at the hospital with Alison). Heading into surgery shortly, but everyone is fine and in good spirits right now. She'll text me again once the surgery is complete.

I didn't weigh in (of course! :rotfl2: Like, AS IF!) but I am definitely DOWN. Things are looser and the rolls are smaller. Good stuff. I will do a final weigh in on January 30th (the last day of the challenge).

Speaking of the Challenge....

STEPH?!?!?! Everything ok? You have been MIA for a long time. Step away from the soda....

DAWN--I believe Nancy called you out yesterday. I told you I wouldn't throw down with her! :rotfl2:

PAULA--woo hoo for being a push-up MACHINE! Love that Jesse called you that! OMG, I hate push-ups and I suck at them! I do 3 sets of 24 and I feel it after the first set, so the second set is tough and the third one outright HURTS.

AIMEE--glad work things are going well!

KELLY--you are our Disco DVD Diva! :rotfl2: Rock on, sister!

Nancy--anymore hip hop for you?

AMY--back to c25k, eh? I am thinking that is what I will use with Cammie. She has been doing well on the few training runs I have taken her on so far, but we need a bit more structure, I think. (I have been doing the telephone pole method with her.)

LIZ--it is Wednesday. Are you going to weigh in? Report back.

Ok, off to spend some time with Cammie and then get some work done. GOOD CHOICES today.

And lots of prayers for Liz and Alison. :grouphug:

Oh there you are, Steph!

Did I miss that you were going to Boston??? I didn't know. Hope it was ok despite the fighting. Yes, my kids fight with each other, but never at anyone else's house :rotfl2: but here at home? Sure, they let it rip from time to time. The vast majority of the time it is good, though.

AND OF COURSE all the news had was Obama coverage. It was a HUGE day...no matter which way you voted. :cool1: Peaceful transition of power and all of that. :goodvibes LOVE LOVE LOVE the pomp and ceremony of our political traditions.

Ok so My food choices were NOT GREAT over the weekend!
Friday night I had Pizza.. Papa gino's Pizza (we can't get it here.. nancy Erika and Lisa/pr I believe you guys should have it) So since I can't get it here I crave and over do it! I had 6 yes thats right SIX slices.. to my defense they are very thin and small even for a large pizza and they weren't a grease as I had hoped!

Saturday night- we had chinese, I had teriyaki beef with chicken wings and chicken fingers, I asked for white rice and then totally skipped it.

Sunday my Step mother had Sunday dinner which was chicken and mashed potatoes and corn and stuffing. I had a little of each and called it quits.
At my brothers house I ate cereal. and drank regular soda! YUCK!
I didn't weigh myself when I got home But I have weighed myself since and I actually maintained so I guess the two days of shoveling really helped. It was so nice even with the snow I shoveled with a t-shirt on, everyone else hat on hats and gloves ski pants Nope not I, I was out in t-shirt and jeans! 30 degrees is a HUGE difference from -25. I was kinda getting used to the warm weather but No we are back to the frigid Arctic air it was minus 12 this morning when I brought the kids to school! DID I MENTION I HATE THE COLD!!!!!!!!!
Ok off to do some laundry!
So Erika for the challenge I am down 3 pound total from the first of January!

Remember I was heading to Maine but with the snow and cold I decided to stay right in Boston instead. That was the trip to boston on friday night and then Maine Saturday through monday and then to boston on monday and then drive back here monday night! Long trip but then I get to see the family!
