In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

SO true! They had seen what debt did to you...now, on the other hand, I did not learn from that. :lmao: I am a big -Throw Money at It to Fix it girl. Like, it's only money. Right? I'm not getting buried with it.

We do nearly everything ourselves, because Nick is handy. Entire kitchen, entire downstairs renovation, etc. But if it's a matter of something small and it solves an annoying problem - throw money at it and make it go away. I've got enough actual problems that can't be fixed by cash, so why not fix what I can?

And CC debit - I have been there. For sure. Luckily, I've also always had income and opportunities to pay it all off when it got hairy. But I was so proud of myself this year. Went to WDW in Dec, all my Christmas shopping, and as you now, no job for me at the moment - and not ONE thing went on a CC. I just realized this, as the Dec bills came due, and I didn't owe anything. All cash. Wow. This could get addictive!

Now...I do understand that...same here..sometimes if it is not a neccesity but will make life easier...get it done...I always have traveled cash only...no CC...but sometimes I wish I had one to splurge on...but...it has taught me to look for values at second hand stores etc...and how I travel as much as I do...no eating out all the time..cook in the house..but what is on sale at the grocery store and make meals around it...

I am hoping it rubbed off on the kids...cause I do not want Treyner going broke in college...charging everything and having $8,000 in debt before the end of the first year like a friend's daughter did....:scared1:

And....

Hi Emily....:yay: You are just the cutest little girl I ever saw...I loooove your hair... and have seen some awesome sunglasses on you too!:cool2:

Kat! At least you will know today, instead of waiting. Waiting is the hard part.

Hi everyone. I'm still on my mission to get things done this week, that's why I'm not posting much. I'm still reading and laughing as appropriate.

Yesterday I threw myself off the wagon. I worked out in the morning, then proceeded to eat Wednesday. I'm not kidding, I ate Wednesday. Weigh in tomorrow will be sucksville for me. Today is Thursday, the plan is different.

love ya

Thanks! (and to everyone else too) :goodvibes

Yeah, I tried to drink Wednesday. But I got too tired so went to bed. Probably a good thing for my today.

And, I went to kickboxing at lunch so I am CONQUERING my sore tired body.

Emily is SO excited to see your replies!!!

Amy, Emily says to tell you the she loves her things and she hopes we can get more today. Love, Emily Diane. (This is a direct quote)

Lyz, Emily says to tell you that they are called Princess, Love, Loveship, and Cutie. Love, Emily (I guess she can't say Lovestruck)

She is sending you....

:santa: :grouphug: :flower3: :hippie:

Okay, so back to food. No exercise yet today. I am super tired, to be honest. I was supposed to spin, I have thought about the treadmill, but I am wrecked. House cleaning.

But eating well. So far. Oatmeal for breakfast, an orange, tomato soup, and low cal grilled cheese for lunch (WW bread, lowfat swiss, done on Foreman Grill) and Fiber One bar for snack.

How are you guys doing? Lyz, have you recovered from yesterday?

Ooooh Kat. You have to call me when the meeting is over. Okay? AND I found a use for butter spray! To make the grilled cheese on the Foreman Grill! I was making it today, and I was like, I need a little butter or something - aha! Butter spray. Going to buy it tomorrow!!!

Can you imagine I never needed it before?

Hi Amy! I am so jealous that it's warm enough there to wog anywhere!

Ok, shameful indulgence here. Emily has been hanging over my shoulder all morning and she really, really wants to pick an icon to post. Okay? So here she goes.

:lmao: I find plenty of uses for butter spray!

I will definitely call you.

And Kelly, :lmao: .

Kickboxing kicked my booty again, but I am proud of myself for going. That is 6 of 8 days, total of 400 min or so.

Kat - I hope the meeting goes well.

So here is my food for the day - I know you are all on the edge of your seats with excitement!

Breakfast - Coco Pops and skimmed milk (I am SUCH a child!) :rotfl:
Snack - Apple and Low Fat yoghurt
Lunch - 6" subway lite - Ham and salad on wheat bread
Snack - Pear
Dinner - WW Ready Meal - Salmon & Hoki in a creamy white wine sauce with creamy mashed potato (can you tell I just copied that from the packaging!) with carrots, broccoli and green beans

I have also drank 9 large glasses of water! :cool1:

Kat - I know your meeting time is getting close... Thinking good thoughts for you...

Kelly - what is hoiki and why is it creamed? Just curious...

In case I forget, here is my exercise info for the week so far

Tried to swim twice, but no luck. Instructor sprained her knee and no classes. :sad2: Will try again next Wednesday since the pool is closed for MLK day on Monday. Did the BL DVD on Saturday night while out of town and worked out with my man Jesse on Tuesday. I am seeing him again on Saturday. Not quite the exercise juggernaut this week, but not for lack of trying.

My plan for next week, training on Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday, swimming on Wednesday and cardio only at the gym on Sunday.

I know this was short notice and I didn't get the required pre-approvals, but this chic is heading out of town tonight. I am heading out with my family to meet my college buddy to celebrate his birthday and do a little (and with my budget this month, I mean little) gambling. Is it wrong to want to spend my hard earned money on a trainer and not dump it into a rigged game of chance? I didn't think so, but my mom wanted to get away so get away we shall.

I was banned from bringing my computer since we will be back tomorrow night (I know, the horror), so you will have to have fun without me tomorrow. If I hit the jackpot, I'll call someone to let them know.

Talk to you later,
Paula

Kelly - what is hoiki and why is it creamed? Just curious...

:rotfl: Hoki is some kind of white fish - hake I believe? As for why it was creamed - who the heck knows! It was very tasty though!

Is it wrong to want to spend my hard earned money on a trainer and not dump it into a rigged game of chance? I didn't think so, but my mom wanted to get away so get away we shall.

I don't think so either. Me and DH are spending our hard earned money on joining the gym at the end of the month!

I am the same way with eggs. LOVE the dippy yolk. Hard boiled yolk, eh. I hate when I fry an egg and accidentally break the yolk or over cook it.

blah. Hard yolk. Totally cooked yolk...or better yet...no yolk at all

Weird, I like the elliptical and hate the dreadmill. I can knock out 3-4 miles on the elliptical no problem, and without holding on (I read a book, it freaks Liz out!).

I'd get motion sickness if I tried to read :scared:

Yesterday I threw myself off the wagon. I worked out in the morning, then proceeded to eat Wednesday. I'm not kidding, I ate Wednesday. Weigh in tomorrow will be sucksville for me. Today is Thursday, the plan is different.

ooof. :headache: Come on...I'll help you back up

But Gilmore Girls, that I love. It's one of the great joys of my life. Truly. My song with Emily is Where You Lead,

DD and I=Lorelai and Rori. Totally. My gf wanted to name her new puppy Sookie...but her hubby nixed it :confused3

#4 I weighed in on my scale...it said 227.3....I jumped off and tried again...said the same...and then I asked Baylor to weigh...it said 94 pounds...:lmao: so not sure how far it is off...but not accurate and the fleeting moment of thinking there was a chance I lost over 19 pounds overnight...is gone...just when I thought I hit the lotto

Aw man! That woulda been SWEET

It is a HUGE deal when it gets this cold because of all the current fruit crops (strawberries, oranges).

Very true. While we laugh at your idea of *cold* it really can be a BIG problem down there. :guilty:

Also, I meant to mention the other day that if you do a january race at disney or the princess 1/2 AND you do the DL 1/2 in september, you get another special medal, in addition to the one for completing the DL 1/2. So if you did the dopey, you'd get 6 medals total!

Say what now? :confused3 SIX medals? :hyper:

Hi everyone!I am so tired from exercise but I feel good. Like I knew that I would. (see what I did there - I blame the rush of adreneline!) :rotfl:

nice. I was singing along :rotfl2:

:lmao: I find plenty of uses for butter spray!

:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

:rotfl2:

I will definitely call you.

It's just after 4:00....thinking of you Kat!

Kelly - what is hoiki and why is it creamed? Just curious...

Thanks for asking. I was curious.

worked out with my man Jesse on Tuesday. I am seeing him again on Saturday.

"my man Jesse".... awesome

Not quite the exercise juggernaut this week,

"juggernaut" - that's such a fun word to say

Is it wrong to want to spend my hard earned money on a trainer and not dump it into a rigged game of chance?

No way! Spend it on Jesse. You definitely get more value for your money that way :thumbsup2 Have a great time! Win something, 'K?

YES. Although it looks like everyone survived.

I wanted to reply to the Emily love but I'm kind of sucked in to my local channels right now. I hate that airport, to fly in and out of.

I DON'T put up with the cold weather, that is why I moved to North Carolina in 2000. It gets cold here but nothing like the rest of the thread (other than Amy) deals with. Today is highs in the low 40s, lows in the teens, and this weekend we will actually have a low of about 10, and this is VERY cold for us. As cold as it gets, really, and usually only for a week or so.

I am the same way with eggs. LOVE the dippy yolk. Hard boiled yolk, eh. I hate when I fry an egg and accidentally break the yolk or over cook it.

HAHAHA!! I was seeing the same picture in my head!! :rotfl:

Weird, I like the elliptical and hate the dreadmill. I can knock out 3-4 miles on the elliptical no problem, and without holding on (I read a book, it freaks Liz out!).

Thanks for all the thoughts and well wishes. I really appreciate them.

So, we find out at 4PM today exactly how bad things are here. I know I will still have a job, or at least have been reassured of that by multiple sources, but I also know that we aren't doing very well and that things may change. I just hope that it is perk reductions and not pay reductions, you know? It bums me out because this is the first job in a long time that I actually LIKE.

Oh, and yeah, I drank my sorrows away last night. Here is my food for yesterday (in the spirit of putting it all out there):

B: fiber one + 1/4 cup cottage cheese (100)
L: ham pita (100) + soup at hand (70) + dt swiss miss (25) + clementine (35)
D: half turkey sandwich (75), veggies/ff pringles (100), ff spinach dip (100)
S: some amt of ice cream (200?), 4 beers (700?)

Total, 1500? Not too bad I guess. Water, 64 oz. Exercise, none.
Hang in there Kat, your ahead of us, so I hope it is going ok while you are in there.

Hey Everyone!

Hope you are all staying warm!! I know you will all laugh at me, but it is cold here today too, and is supposed to get colder. It will be in the teens a couple counties north of here. It is a HUGE deal when it gets this cold because of all the current fruit crops (strawberries, oranges).

Jena-WTG on the loss! That's awesome!

LisaV,Steph-Loved the ghost stories. I have never personally witnessed anything, but I do believe. There are too many stories out there.

LisaPR-great job on 10 miles on the elliptical!!

Liz-Thanks for posting about food suggestions. I always forget about shrimp.

Kat-Continued good thoughts and prayers for you. :goodvibes

Nancy-Will we get some goat baby pics soon? I :lovestruc gilmore girls as well. Also, I meant to mention the other day that if you do a january race at disney or the princess 1/2 AND you do the DL 1/2 in september, you get another special medal, in addition to the one for completing the DL 1/2. So if you did the dopey, you'd get 6 medals total!

Erika-mailed your packet today, via priority mail. Hopefully it won't be frozen solid when it gets there! :lmao: Did you officially sign up for Goofy 2010??

Melissa-Loved your story about helping the family who had the house fire. :goodvibes

Lyz,Paula,Aimee,Dawn,Kelly,Stacey,everyone else...

Back to exercise today. D and I wogged to the post office, 2.5 miles. No pain anywhere or soreness, so I will probably hit the TM running tomorrow. I am working on a plan to ramp up my miles again before my 1/2 at the end of Feb. I lost alot of LR stamina during those 2 weeks when I was sick over xmas so I will probably start out with a 4 mile LR and go from there.

Little D wanted to say hi to Emily too!!

She is so adorable!

Are you watching the news?

OMG ~ thank God they are all ok! 32 degree water!

Yesterday I threw myself off the wagon. I worked out in the morning, then proceeded to eat Wednesday. I'm not kidding, I ate Wednesday. Weigh in tomorrow will be sucksville for me. Today is Thursday, the plan is different.

OMG!!! :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: Not laughing at off the wagon. Really. :lovestruc Laughing at your words. You are so funny. You so make my day!

Today is a new day Lyz. Today is a new day for sure. I always have remember that myself.

Lisa V - I'd have been out of that house SO fast. I have respect for the spirit, I want to leave them in peace. Nick and I always joke about haunted houses - when the house says "GET OUT" we'd beat a path to the door. I don't care how the house says it, I"m listening.

Steph - that's a cool but creepy story. I love the bits with Zac. Does he even talk about your FIL? Even though he was so tiny, I wonder if they remember.

I didn't know Nick when his Pop died (grandfather in Philly-speak) but they sold the house pretty soon afterwards. It's a row home in South Philly, actually, it's the street Rocky lived on. You can see it in the movie. Anyhoo, it went up for sale again last year. So Nick and I stopped by. We just knocked on the door and spoke to the couple.

They could not have been more gracious. They were like, oh, you're Nick's grandson??? They knew all about him. They told us they would ask his permission when they changed anything in the house. They had this total reverence for what he had done to the house, his presence in it. Italian Catholics in South Philly - it IS just like a movie. But the weirdest part was they found this pen of his, with his name on it. Apparently, Nick's Pop had these made up and would hand them out all the time - he worked for Immigration and people often came to him with questions or problems. After his wife died and he retired, he was still the neighborhood go-to guy - help the widows, give advice, etc, and he held some small positions locally. So he had these pens. And they found one. And the man had it SAVED. In this inlaid box with like his grandpa's cuff links, he's got Nick's Pop's pen.

He tried to give it to Nick, but Nick was like, "No, you keep it. I'm happy it means something to you." Wow. So this couple totally felt the house haunted but loved it like that. They loved his presence in their lives. And they were sad to move and miss it.

The man was a throw-back to a generation that doesn't exist like that anymore, but he was lovely to meet. And his wife, too. They were pretty cool people. And they had clearly loved this house.

Ok, time for lunch and floor cleaning. Snowing here today.

On the out of the house. Me too Liz. Me too. My sister is what one can call one of a kind. Really. God only made one. :lmao: :rotfl: She's so funny. And she really didn't care. I did sleep over many times but never quite relaxed. But it did go in such phases so I bet my sister was right - if the ghost or ghosts didn't like a certain person then action.

You made me laugh about getting out. It reminds me of Eddie Murphy when he questions what is wrong with white people? They always stay. Black people would get the eff out. :lmao: :rotfl: Is that Delirious - I want some ice cream? :lmao:

That's sweet about Nick's grandfather. Really. Really sweet.

And just for Erika.....

:rotfl:

Oh, there's my Delena. So cute every single time.

Steph - loved your stories. And really it never seems to have rhyme or reason with whatever is happening, eh? Your grandmother - who knows what is what - we'll all know one day but Steph I have heard that some think those who have passed can't get through to some who are having intense feelings and grief. Who knows - no rhyme or reason.

Hi to everyone!

Dawn - you're doing BL! I saw you. Let me give you my fav icon :dance3:

Oh Erika - cruise?

So I'm watching the NY news now, and I am just SO impressed with the rescue efforts. The manager of the NY Waterways, which are ferries people take from NJ to NYC - commuter ferries - called all his boats out to rescue people, immediately. It was just so well done - all of it. Amazing that everyone is alive, the baby even. Wow.

And I love Mayor Bloomberg. Just love him.
