Oh my gosh! I can't believe it took me this long to give this info! I am 33 until May. My title is Senior Specialist in the Collections & Outbound Servicing Department. It means I help run a department of collections representatives. Not as bad as it sounds! My son is Ryan 9 and daughter Taylor 4 going on 14. And my goal is 85 lbs.

Good Morning! It's Freezing here -7 without the windchill. -20 with the windchill. We actually were on the Today show map! For being Cold~~~
So I was just making plans to go see Disney on Ice! This year they have 4 shows in one! There is the little mermaid, Cars, the Lion King, and the Fairies! I haven't been to an ice show in YEARS! I haven't even stepped foot into the NEW boston gardens! I can't wait!

Yesterday I had 28.5 points! NOt enough water though! I had my one Cole Zero! Right now I wish I had a banana I am craving for one!

Ok since I didn't go to bed till really late and was up at 630 and I am not the energizer bunny I am going for a nap with Mocha!

Oh LIZ I would love to hear what you have in store for me as a theme song

I bet it was a warm nap at least with that adorable puppy.

Hi everyone...

I am tired this morning. I woke up with a headache and am generally in a bit of a funk because of it. Hopefully, I can kick this quickly.

Steph - I thought of you when I was listening to the weather this morning. All I could think was that it was a good thing I wasn't in Saranac Lake because it is sub-zero freezing there right now and you told me that it would be like that. Stay warm and keep that cute little puppy warm too.

I am slammed at work, so gotta go. Talk to you all later.

Paula

PS - did I mention that I testing the dating waters again... not much to report, but am chatting with a few guys. Nothing serious, but there are some possibilities.

For you newbies, yeah - I share my dating stories (mostly horror stories lately) from time to time so this is a weight loss thread and a bad chick flick all in one... :rotfl2:

Paula ~ good luck with the dating scene!

I guess in situations like this - your heart goes out - but you don't know what to do - figure someone else is taking care of it - and the issue fades. In this case, we knew what and was not happening - so... my friend Cheri and I started contacting people we know and just letting them know about what happened to start collecting "stuff". I caught kids clothes on clearance at Kohl's and ended up with 2 outfits for each of the 4 kids for about $35! I love shopping anyway!! The outpouring of support from the people that I work with - and friends of friends - has been SO INCREDIBLE!! It's hard to describe! Everytime I open my email and see another offer of a couch or bed or dresser - or toys - I GET A RUSH!! To know that there ARE people who will go out of their way for strangers!! OMG!!

So... I wanted to share the story with my new friends here - and say that the outpouring of support that is happening in my life locally - is THE SAME feeling that I've gotten here for the past week that you guys have been in my life! Thanks for being so open and free with your experiences!

It's it awesome! A true snow ball effect! Great story.

Definitely a great story!!

Actually, it appears to be held at bay for now. Maybe all the endorphins from the exercise help? Or the "eating clean"?

No, caffeine doesn't usually help. Or advil. Or even vicodin. It is an untouchable headache, and I didn't even know what a migraine was before, but I guess it is one.

Wow, Vicodin didn't help??? I can't remember the name, but a friend of mine is on a preventative that she takes around her TOM and it helps.

I have read up on it and it is something to do with your hormone levels dropping during the "off" week between active pills. There are a couple of different treatment options and I will be discussing with the dr, but the first annual checkup appt that I could get was in March.

Plus, you can make me give up diet soda (which I haven't really, I still have one with lunch like I always have), but I will NEVER give up coffee. Believe me, even if I did, I think my coworkers would hold me down and force it down my throat. I am a WITCH without morning coffee.

Coffee ~ the nectar of the Columbian Gods. I am right there with you!

:rotfl: Yeah, forgot about water from Maine. God's country. It probably sparkles like Edwards skin.

:lmao: Love me some Edward sparkling water.

Liz - so I am totally doing your star deal. I'm using red when I exercise, cause I liken it to bloodshed. Just sayin'.

Maddi is really eating it up. Monday she got up and ready for school very well so I gave her a gold star. She opted to put it on her shirt, screw the calendar. Tuesday, she was a bear. And I pointed out she would not be receiving a start and omg, she started bawling! This morning, she in fact did get another gold star. She's like you, gold, gold, gold.

Ok, I have completed the exercise DVD - yes, thats right - Completed it! :woohoo: I am so proud of myself I might give myself a Gold Star! :rotfl: I actually can't remember the last time I felt this good about myself!

It was so exhausting but at the end of it I was like :yay:

Notes to self:
-Have water nearby then you won't have to run into the kitchen half way through!
-If you are exercising in your living room turn the heat off before you start. Otherwise chances are you will pass out (like I nearly did!)
-If you are exercising in your living room CLOSE THE CURTAINS! I nearly gave made my neighbours eyeballs explode.
-Do not attempt anything when they start with 'Right, for this exercise we will be balancing on one leg'. You WILL fall over.

I think that is all! :lmao:

Woo Hoo about the DVD! I love your notes. :lmao:

Oh - I think a diet coke for medicinal purposes would be ok....:confused3 ...caffine and advil. My magic cocktail.

Yes, must have caffine and pain meds together.

Without coffee I don't hit that "witch" stage until afternoon...when I get a raging headache...yeah, I know. caffine addiction. :rolleyes1

Me too! I am right there with you!

Went to yoga today. Still the fattest chick in there by far. WTH? I'm fairly normal in the rest of the gym, but that class, man, I'm the heavy. It's not pretty to look at my legs in those warrior poses!

Also, I'm the youngest. YES. Youngest and heaviest. There's nothing like perfectly toned women older than me to piss me off!

 But the main thing is you still do it. Those yoga gals tend to be skinny here too.

So. What did everyone have for dinner tonight?

My issue this past week has been planning. Normally, I whip together dinner no worries. But honestly, if I'm not going to eat my emotions in candy bars - been there, done that - I'm going to have to feel them. And that makes me sad and tired and not motivated to cook. Like, classic I Can't Deal. So today I went and stocked up on some stuff.

Canned Progresso soups - for lunch, and first course dinner. Low in fat, low in calories/WW points, and a serving of veggies.

Frozen shrimp - great diet food.

Three of these frozen shrimp and rice/pasta meals. There was a deal at the local store on these, and they each came out to be 5 WW pts for a meal - about 270 and 290 calories, and that's with protein, veggies, and starch. Just heat and serve.

Frozen veggies - the Steamfresh kind.

Boca Burgers - on Erika's suggestion, for quick meals.

Smart Ones - just a handful, on the days when I'm alone and even lunch is too much. I won't do these for dinner, but lunch is okay once a week or so.

So. Any other suggestions? For super fast, no brainers? Meals that you can make in 5 minutes without any heart or soul? You know, the I'm Giving Up on Life meals. But low fat, low cal. The stop gap between cooking for real and Taco Bell.

Suggestions welcomed!!!

I like taking South Beach wraps with me to work (under 300 calories and pretty tasty!). I have a few free websites, will PM them to you. Some are very easy or make ahead and freeze.

Ummm Kelly...if you mention the word Excersize to Steph...it takes on a whole different conotation which will then make these statements even funnier...:lmao: and the visual for your neighbors a pay per view event...:3dglasses :rotfl2:

It is going to be -30 below tonight REGULAR TEMP...and with windchill -50 below...schools are already closing...coldest in over 5 years...heading your way you East Coast beauties...Happy January baby....:scared1:

It is making me want to get a moving van pronto...

Dawn ~ -50 is insane. OMG! Schools should be closed, lol.

I guess I shouldn't complain that it's going to frost here on friday night??? :rolleyes1

Would you like a few visitors?? Road trip to Amy's!:woohoo:

[/B]I once went to a Yoga class (just the once) - all the women in there were like heads on sticks. They were so skinny, like they'd all come from the same factory! Freaked me out and I never went back :rotfl:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

So. What did everyone have for dinner tonight?

Thank you for asking. I too, get caught up in the whole "cooking" thing and overlook the easy-peasy sometimes. Love the suggestions!

It is going to be -30 below tonight REGULAR TEMP...and with windchill -50 below...schools are already closing...coldest in over 5 years...heading your way you East Coast beauties...Happy January baby....:scared1:

Bitterly cold here too. Gonna snow tonight - but heck - I say BRING IT ON! 'cause we already decided that shivering burns calories :goodvibes

SO i received excellent news today. Bruce has worked his way up the food chain a bit and has enough seniority to go on day shift with every other weekend off starting sometime in early february.

:yay: Good news, Stacey!!

Don't worry, Amy! I'll protect you!

Wonder-Woman-Photograph-C10101726.jpg

 I KNEW you were....*special* :worship:

:lmao:

I swear my son has PMS. He is so mad at me still ~ it was for his own good. And I know I did the right thing (bus incident).

Yeah - I have one of those as well. :headache: 5th grade was "the year". Who knew boy hormones were like that :confused3 and....yeah - no doubt - you did the right thing.

I have had a really bad day. Got some bad news at work. Please keep me and my company in your thoughts/prayers, that the inaguration next week will make people decide that everything is okay and spend money again?

Tonight, I am tracking, but drinking.

 oh, Kat! yes. Definitely prayers for you...

I noticed a lot of you are talking about boca burgers... I am absolutly hooked on the spicy black bean morning star burgers. I got them at target and delicious they are!!! they aren't real spicy at all. They are really good to take a whole wheat tortilla sprinkle with cheese and melt in the microwave. cut the burger in half and place on tortilla, add salsa or chopped tomatoes a little sour cream, lettuce if you like... absolutly delicious and VERY filling.

I will also do a whole wheat tortilla with cheese the same way with a scrambled egg and some sandwich turkey for breakfast. This is also very yummy. Add a banana or some grapes or a apple, and I'm set until lunch.

Dawn - I am such a boiled egg girl. Yum. And good for $$$.

Oh my goodness yes and with a little fat free mayo and a bit of pickle juice! Deviled eggs that aren't so devilish.

Liz - Bruce is an LMSW (social worker) and he currently works on the national veterans suicide prevention hotline for the Veterans Administration here in Canandaigua. Comes with some nice federal perks, but sometimes a sucky schedule, i'm excited even if he is only on days for a short while, i MISS him!

Wow, that has to be a tough job!

Don't worry, Amy! I'll protect you!

Wonder-Woman-Photograph-C10101726.jpg

Yes! And you can even get the stir-fry ready vegetables. Already pre-chopped and ready to go. I get the fresh, but they have frozen too. And with the frozen, there is also a package of frozen stir fry sauce...so you really just throw it all in the pan and heat it through.

I  Wonder Woman. I had her Under roos.

Bitterly cold here too. Gonna snow tonight - but heck - I say BRING IT ON! 'cause we already decided that shivering burns calories :goodvibes

Yes, but does drinking cold water and shivering burn more???:confused3

Yeah - I have one of those as well. :headache: 5th grade was "the year". Who knew boy hormones were like that :confused3 and....yeah - no doubt - you did the right thing.

Oh no, I hope it gets better before we hit 5th grade. I won't be able to take 2 more years of this. :lmao: I have a drama queen daughter too. I'm sunk.

Kat ~ I lost your quote, but hang in there!

Oh yes! Morning Star is good too! I throw a little salsa on mine with some cheese. Yum!

checking in with my "day"

Food: 28 points. Good ones, quality ones. Feeling legitimately hungry right now :headache: I think it was the intensity of my run today....so I may have one more point for a piece of fruit....

Exercise: RAN! 60 minutes/6.5 miles (hence the hunger  )

KAT....

Ok, team...I need help. Nancy, you did me SUCH a great favor yesterday by asking me about my ab workouts! I am up to date so far for this week, but it is a STRUGGLE. I need accountability.

So please, if I haven't posted about an ab/core workout on any given day, please call me on it.

I am off to do one right now while I watch the part of BL that I missed last night (apparently, the good part).

Kat - I know how hard this waiting game can be. Hang in there. Things will get better. They have to.

Kat, prayers for you.

Everyone, I will be back to regular posting tomorrow. And you might get a race report by tomorrow night.

I think I need to keep a food/exercise/emotion journal next month and make myself share it. I like the accountability factor.

My daughter's school is 2 hours late - which doesn't effect her because she is in PM kindergarten!

Just wanted everyone to know - I am a LOSER! I went to my WW meeting and I lost 3.8 pounds this week! YEA! It feels good to have the scale go the other way!

I have to go - it's getting late. Have a good evening and a wonderful tomorrow! ~ Jena

Steph - okay ghost story.

You know what was great about my sister and the house - she never told us. She allowed us to feel it and ask her WTH. So we experienced things without any preconceived thoughts. Actually, I was only a teenager so who knows what I thought anyway before I experienced it. All things can have some sort of explanation but I'll tell you it was haunted 100%. :surfweb:

So here's the scoop -

She had a pool table put all the balls away they would hear smacking and go down all of them would be out. Actually she had a partner then and they would argue about who didn't put them away. No kids old enough, at that time, to do it. You'd be sitting and things would just start playing. Like those creepy wind up clown thingys. Yeah, she had one. Connie, my niece who is 27 this year, was a like one or two and couldnt' speak yet. And my sister and her friends that would sleep over would sometimes hear children talking. One night Connie and her friend's child had charcoal marks on their arms when they woke up but no charcoal was ever found. Sometimes there would be sand lines around their bed. Yes, let me interrupt and say if there were marks on my children yes I would be out of there. My sister had a border, who saw/felt something one night, and left in the middle of the night with his dog. Didn't even wait until morning. TVs/stereos on off. Scratching. Front door opening sounds etc. etc. MOre that I can't think of right now. But it had one of those creepy dirt basements. EEK to that.

And what was so wild about all this is it was the town. There were some hangings during I think the war of 1812. Apparently, men were hung for being traitors but they were found out not to be. My mom also had some friends in the same town. And they used to see a young girl rocking and walkiing by their bed. And many houses on the street had stuff. Water taps turning on by themselves.

My sister never felt attacked or scared. And it was a rented house. She also said that activity was strongest when their was a man in her life. As in the ghosts were jealous/protective.

So Steph - is that good? I'm sure there are things I forgot. She stayed there for years. At least 6 or 7.

Also, a good ghost on film. In Three Men and a Baby a ghost of a boy appears in the window of a dining room scene. The boy is there and has no feet. It was filmed in Toronto and apparently there is a story behind it. I think one of three guys is talking to his mother in the dining or living room and the boy is by the drapes. Thick hair. Creepy.

There you go missy.

Also I live in the original city of Toronto. Ie. where it was settled. Old Town they call it. There are ghost stories all over here. And land - attached to land. Our first condo - our neighbour sweared her suite was haunted. New building. And I never felt anything in ours but things happened in hers when I was babysitting her cat. One night I dreamt of my surroundings. I never dream of places in reality where I live in the now. I'm not sure I wasn't awake. I saw a man standing by my bookcase. And he passed me and through the wall into my neighbour's suite - the one she says was haunted. Dream or not? I don't know. I do feel things though. Dont' see. Feel. Energy. I had a lot of deaths one year. And three I felt a presence for sure. For sure. One was so funny. I really felt Alice. We were in her home. I asked someone close to me if she felt her relative. She said no and a hanging planter fell from the ceiling right away. :lmao: Probably a coincidence but funny. She was that kind of woman. :lmao: Strong personality like that.

As I'm telling you all this I'm in my parent's basement and a light keeps going on and off. :lmao: :rotfl: Jean just walked over and it went on.

Tons of history in our area downtown. Our neighbourhood, our corner, has underground reilroad location/locations?. In fact, there is a house that was protected on our condo lot because it was an underground railroad location. It has quite the air to it. Jean and I always look and laugh at its windows. We never see anyone in go in it - although it was sold as a duplex. The kind of windows that you expect to see a ghost. Sits right behind our condo.

Plus, our local market was once the county jail and they say that the lake came up and many drowned in chains centuries ago. Many have seen ghosts there.

No thanks I say.

I used to teach a lot of kids from the Caribbean. They were forever telling me ghost stories. I asked Mama, Jean's mom - they are Jamaican, why so many in Jamaica? She said they hate the light and the island can get very dark. So many stories from there. And they are priceless. Especially when teenagers are retelling their sightings. Famous one is the White Which of Rose Hall.

Kelly must have some - maybe, eh?

Well feeling energy is enough for me. I so don't want to see. Although I love ghost tours a la Savannah and Williamsburg. I love the history/stories.

Okay Steph it's late and I'm in a foreign sleeping enviroment that makes way too many noises. So I'm off now. :lmao:

Good morning - or good middle of the night! :rotfl2:

Ummm Kelly...if you mention the word Excersize to Steph...it takes on a whole different conotation which will then make these statements even funnier...:lmao: and the visual for your neighbors a pay per view event...:3dglasses :rotfl2:

Oh, I must know more! :rotfl2:

It is going to be -30 below tonight REGULAR TEMP...and with windchill -50 below...schools are already closing...coldest in over 5 years...heading your way you East Coast beauties...Happy January baby....:scared1:

That is soooo cold! I don't know how you guys cope with such cold weather! :scared1:

Egg salad/hard boiled eggs

Heres the thing with me and eggs. I like eggs when the yolk is 'dippy' and the white bit is hard (fried eggs, soft boiled eggs etc). I cant eat boiled eggs when the yolk is hard - I will eat the white bit and leave the yolk! :rotfl2:

Liz - Bruce is an LMSW (social worker) and he currently works on the national veterans suicide prevention hotline for the Veterans Administration here in Canandaigua. Comes with some nice federal perks, but sometimes a sucky schedule, i'm excited even if he is only on days for a short while, i MISS him!

Wow, that is quite a job.

I'll take credit for that thanks! ;)

Kelly, so glad you joined us over here. I knew that this would be a good fit.

I have had a really bad day. Got some bad news at work. Please keep me and my company in your thoughts/prayers, that the inaguration next week will make people decide that everything is okay and spend money again?

Kat, you and your company are in my thoughts

Just wanted everyone to know - I am a LOSER! I went to my WW meeting and I lost 3.8 pounds this week! YEA! It feels good to have the scale go the other way!

:cool1: That is awesome! congratulations.

I have had a sneaky pre-weigh in - im very excited to get weighed tomorrow! In fact, yes, It calls for a

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning everyone! I am totally NOT caught up and I am not sure that I ever will be.....:surfweb:

My cleaning lady is on the blink....pneumonia....undiagnosed immune disorder...just totally on the fritz so my day yesterday was completely ruined by having to clean my own house. I did figure out why I dislike it so much though. It does not seem to bother me as much when she spends all day cleaning it and the family comes home and trashes it in a matter of minutes. It so DOES bother me though!!

I did my 10 miles that I missed from Sunday yesterday on the elliptical. I had really intended to do it on the TM but they were all full. I did my weights and my ab workout too so double bonus points for me. I have another field hockey player that I have to set up a training plan with on Monday so no workout that day (or very minimal I might get my abs in) and I need to plan around that too.

Steph, Shelby's 10 a.m. game has been nixed. She has tryouts for a traveling team that takes them around Division 1 colleges in New England. More important for exposure purposes. She bombed last night because there was another goalie who got her all nervous and she was trying too hard. Mike's "over coordinatedness" came out in her to put it mildly. She has another try on Sunday. Hopefully she can pull it together. We had a long talk on the way home about self-confidence and believing in yourself. Good mommy moment. Anyway, you set the time and place to meet up (not 10-11 on Sunday as Mike will have my car) but any other time will work. If we are sliding at camp on Saturday, I will call you and see if you all want to come over here, very sheltered, nice hill for sliding, XC ski trails, camp with fire, etcetera).

Erika, unfortunately my 2 kids are 7 and 14 now (ugh) but that is my only change.

TRAINING TIP: If you keep a schedule calendar, Blackberry, etcetera, pencil in your workouts (like you had an appointment) so you MAKE the time to do them. It really does help make it a real thing and puts it up on the priority list!!

Will you protect me from the weather tomorrow? :confused3

Did you say you lost 3.8 pounds... you big loser you!!!! Congrats, that is just plain awesome!!!! Lots of gold stars for you.

Good morning all. I made it to work, but man is it cold out there. I am very grateful for the fact that my projects are all interior projects this winter with the temps being what they are.

Stay warm everyone...
Paula

See I knew you all would help me get caught up....:woohoo: for 3.8 pounds. I think that is the best kind of loser to be!!!

Paula, how goes the training sessions? Still feeling the love for Jesse? All I get a picture of is John Stamos, remember Full House??? :lmao:

Good Morning Everybody!

Today is Thursday, so it's a 1/2 work day for me because I work this Saturday. Woo Hoo! Might actually be able to get online mid-day. :cool1: I'm getting a bit burnt out, so I might even schedule a few days off here and there (I have 5 weeks this year).

I hope everybody is able to stay warm today! It's so cold out there and even worse elsewhere.

Later Taters,
Amiee

Good Morning!

Lisa/PR--sorry about the cleaning lady! And I feel your pain about the house getting messed up the second everyone gets home. That is infuriating!

Is there a Maine meet that I am unaware of???

We have the icy blast from the mid-west now. It is officially too cold for me to run outside! :headache: Something way below zero with the windchill. And it was below zero first thing this morning even without the windchill. So I will have to run on the TM today and that should be....interesting. I literally can't remember that last time that I had to run on the TM. And do you remember last Spring when I just started running? I would ONLY run on the TM. I was terrified when it was time to run outside. :rotfl2:

Tip o' the Day--(sorry, I missed a few days in there)--Brush your teeth! lol Seriously, if you want to snack just for the sake of snacking (it is not time or you have already had your planned snack, etc.) then just do a quick brush of your teeth. Once your mouth is all minty fresh, then you want feel like eating!
