In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

OMG, it so isn't!

Hey Lyz...have you seen the pics of Ferris? He looks just like Julie! (Corey is my friend on Facebook, and he has been posting pictures there.)

Good Morning! It's Freezing here -7 without the windchill. -20 with the windchill. We actually were on the Today show map! For being Cold~~~
So I was just making plans to go see Disney on Ice! This year they have 4 shows in one! There is the little mermaid, Cars, the Lion King, and the Fairies! I haven't been to an ice show in YEARS! I haven't even stepped foot into the NEW boston gardens! I can't wait!

Yesterday I had 28.5 points! NOt enough water though! I had my one Cole Zero! Right now I wish I had a banana I am craving for one!

Ok since I didn't go to bed till really late and was up at 630 and I am not the energizer bunny I am going for a nap with Mocha!

Oh LIZ I would love to hear what you have in store for me as a theme song

Hi everyone...

I am tired this morning. I woke up with a headache and am generally in a bit of a funk because of it. Hopefully, I can kick this quickly.

Steph - I thought of you when I was listening to the weather this morning. All I could think was that it was a good thing I wasn't in Saranac Lake because it is sub-zero freezing there right now and you told me that it would be like that. Stay warm and keep that cute little puppy warm too.

I am slammed at work, so gotta go. Talk to you all later.

Paula

PS - did I mention that I testing the dating waters again... not much to report, but am chatting with a few guys. Nothing serious, but there are some possibilities.

For you newbies, yeah - I share my dating stories (mostly horror stories lately) from time to time so this is a weight loss thread and a bad chick flick all in one... :rotfl2:

Paula, hope it goes well. And is a GOOD chick flick this time! :)

I hear ya on the tired. I feel like I got hit by a truck today. It is TOM migraine day (whee!) AND my whole body is really sore from what I have been subjecting it to over the last week.

As to the migraine, I have my annual checkup appt the first week in March, and am going to ask my dr if there is anything I can do about it. It is only one day a month but is still irritating.

E, thanks for the list!

Steph, SO FREAKING ENVIOUS of your nap...

So, the last few days have been very busy indeed! First day of grad school was yesterday, how exciting. Class went really well, i'm excited about it, legal environment of HR, so similar to the graduate equivalent of Business Law.

Work is actually starting to slow down a little bit, not sure why, strange, but i'm not complaining! I've actually been able to leave between 5 and 6 which is unheard of this time of year!

Still don't ever see my husband, stupid B shift :headache:

Been sticking to tracking all of my ingested material, i'm honestlyh pretty impressed with myself, normally stamina and willpower don't stick with me this long, i'm excited. I've actually been coming in a fair amount below my point limits the last few days, and not because i'm starving myself. I think i'm finally starting to get over some of my cravings for Fatty McFatster badness, and learning to enjoy eating healthier. I'll still have my slip ups i'm sure (took me 45 minutes to talk myself out of ordering a pizza last night) but i suppose the moral of the story is, I didn't order it, and ate a huge spinach & bell pepper salad instead.....baby steps, baby steps.

I'm probably a bit rambly, i didn't hardly sleep at all last night. The last few nights i have been having strange nightmares, and the ones last night were just awful so i've had trouble sleeping. Mix that with busy workdays and i turn into a loopy zombie by eight o'clock. :confused3

Hope everyone is having a fantastic night!!!
Great Job on all the ove and congrats on working throug the depresion of missing your hubby...easy to wallow I know...
So I'm not sure if I've posted on here or not, but is so, I'm posting again, and if not, I'm am anyway... anywhoo... here we go

#1 Name/Family
Leanne (22) I am married to the most wonderful hubby ever!!! Ok so we've only been married 7 months. We been together for a total of 3 1/2 years, but it feels like we've been together since birth. He is so supportive of everything I do, just wants me to be happy. We have a 22 month old springer spaniel who is our child... seriously... she doesn't know she walks on 4 legs most times. You can hold her paws and she will climb up you to wrap her front legs around your neck. It's hilarious:laughing:

#2 What you are the Most Proud of for the Year 2008 in terms of weight loss/excersize/healthy choices
I have made the move to go organic. DH is def liking it. He says the food has more flavor. I was finally diagnosed with PCOS, and have started getting treated for it. I have started walking, but the cold has put that on hold, but i also started pilates a couple times a week.

#3 What your goals are for 2009 in terms of healthy living
We are eating organically (for the most part), and I am trying to exercise more than once or twice a week either pilates or walking.

#4 What is needed from us to help you achieve those goals
Motivation, new recipies, tips for getting motivated when there is none that day.

#5 A famous person you would love to have the body of...because each of us has a different body style and the realities that go along with it...
I would choose Carrie Underwood. She's not ultra skinny, she's more athletic looking. That's what I want.

#6 A good food choice that you turn to to help ward off the munchies...
Air popped popcorn with not butter or salt, but sprinkled with a little cheese, or grapes/oranges/apple slices.
Fortunatly I like fruit, and I will turn to that before chips.

#7 What are some of your trigger foods?
That would def be pasta of any kind and ice cream!

#8 Why are you here/joining us...what do you hope to gain...or what have you gained.
I am here just for someone to talk to about the issues that are faced with weight loss. I hope to gain tips and tricks about weight loss, and an inner self I never knew I had, and hopefully a few friends along the way:cutie: I also plan to gain a new wardrobe and a hubby who can't keep his hand off me!!!::yes:: :teeth: puckerup: puckerup: puckerup: :teeth: ::yes::

#9 Occupation (if legal)
I am currently an EMT, but going back to school in the fall for respiratory therapy. I am also a Mary Kay consultant for some extra spending money.

#10 If you could celebrate with anything when you reach/ed goal, what would it be...or what would it have been?
I am going to where my cloths from high school (only 4 years ago), Buy new bathing suits, get cloths that show off my new figure, instead of buying baggy cloths that camoflage my belly flab, wear heels again!!! I wear heels now, but my feet hurt alot soon than they used to.

Ok so i altered this a little, but I wanted to blend in with everybody:cutie: :cutie: :cutie:
Welocme Girl! Glad you answered the questions you did!
Stacey - welcome back... glad to hear that grad school is going so well... your post responding to Liz was just awesome... you put the feelings in my head into words (not an easy task) and I thank you for that.

I also share your feelings about the little critters in my building... ew...

So glad to hear that things are going better.

Thanks... you and Liz are too sweet for saying that...

BTW - where the heck is my flashlight... it is getting really dark over here...:rotfl2: Had my workout tonight and it felt awesome... lowered the bar on my pushups and managed to survive it. Life is good...

Me too... I think he is good for me too. I have him for another 3 - 4 weeks or 8 sessions or so, but I am seriously thinking of signing up for another round. My attitude and my body feel so much better now. I just need to start saving my pennies to pay for it. No more shopping for while....:lmao:

Training went well. He was telling me that this was one of my best workouts yet. I am loving this training thing. Me - loving exercise... who knew? Now, that may be the endorphins talking but you never know...

Liz - I so want in on the discussion about theme songs...

Have a good night everyone..
Paula
Sounds good and this brings me to the song I want to give you...pm'ing Liz right now...:cool1:
We had babies tonight. (yeah. That sounds wierd, doesn't it? )

Actually...One of our goaties had babies tonight. Twins...boy (Eeney) and girl (Panini)...they are so cute :lovestruc

(Liz...PLEASE oh PLEASE do NOT make my song "Lonely Goatherd" from Sound of Music. PLEASE? :rotfl: )

Food for today:

27 points. I did cave and have some wine tonight...but the good news is...I only had 1/2 glass. Granted...it's a *big* glass...but instead of 1 1/2 or 2...I had 1/2 (ok. so the bottle was empty. At least I didn't open a new one  it's a start!)

Exercise...60 minutes of butt-kicking  Did an interval/circuit of cardio & weights.

Congrats on the twins and you barely showed...! On the drinking...Laugh My butt off....lost 2 lbs alone...:worship:

I am ready for finals to be over so I can have my computer back in the evening!

Thinking of songs..hmmmm

PS - did I mention that I testing the dating waters again... not much to report, but am chatting with a few guys. Nothing serious, but there are some possibilities.

No...I don't believe you did! Good luck...

And to quote a famous-to-this-thread person....6.5 miles. Word. :rotfl2:

Does this count as waking up the thread since Kelly is in the UK??? :rotfl2:

I think it definitely counts as waking the thread up - when I posted it was 11am here, so early hours there (not sure on time difference! :rotfl: )

Ok, so there's the new cheat sheet....which is different from the Cast List, which can be found on Page 1.

It is incomplete, so please send me any info. that is no on there. The pounds lost/to go column is based on the beginning of the year, so it won't reflect anything you have lost in the past couple of weeks.

Since people joined the thread at different times, we all answered a different set of questions. Because...ahem....SOMEONE :rolleyes1 ....keeps changing the questions! :rotfl2: So that just means that I don't have the same information on everyone. This chart is just for the basics, though, so please let me know what I am missing!

See what happens when Kelly b*tch-slaps me? :lmao: :rotfl:

:lmao:
Thanks for adding me, I feel loved again now :rotfl:
The only info you are missing for me is job - I work in travel!

So far so good on the food/water today. Plus, ive bought a new exercise dvd to liven things up a bit. Its a disco dance one :rotfl: I fear for myself, I really do!
Oh well, I usually dance like no-ones watching so at least I can get fit doing it!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

Good Morning All!!

I only have a few minutes - but I wanted to share something with you guys... like a human interest story - I've gotten choked up and gotten goosebumps more than once over this.

The Saturday after Christmas - a family near where we live lost their home to a devastating fire. It was the middle of the night, but thankfully due to the smoke detector - the family of seven was able to escape the fire with their lives. Unfortunately, they were renting - had no renters insurance - and everything was a total loss. They had their pajamas! That was it! I know we hear these stories all the time - but figure some agency or family members will step in to help. Of course, in these hard economic times - the aid is already spread thin... The family of seven is Mom, Dad, 4 kids and Grandma. No other family to help. The Red Cross gave them $250 for immediate clothing needs (divided by 7) and gave them 3 nights in a motel - their shelter was full. A local church gave them another 4 nights in the hotel. LUCKILY they were able to find another rental house immediately - and the landlord was willing to work with them on the deposit. So, they have a house - an empty house. Two of the kids go to the same school as my DD - I figured after school started they would have some sort of drive or something for the family - didn't happen!

I guess in situations like this - your heart goes out - but you don't know what to do - figure someone else is taking care of it - and the issue fades. In this case, we knew what and was not happening - so... my friend Cheri and I started contacting people we know and just letting them know about what happened to start collecting "stuff". I caught kids clothes on clearance at Kohl's and ended up with 2 outfits for each of the 4 kids for about $35! I love shopping anyway!! The outpouring of support from the people that I work with - and friends of friends - has been SO INCREDIBLE!! It's hard to describe! Everytime I open my email and see another offer of a couch or bed or dresser - or toys - I GET A RUSH!! To know that there ARE people who will go out of their way for strangers!! OMG!!

So... I wanted to share the story with my new friends here - and say that the outpouring of support that is happening in my life locally - is THE SAME feeling that I've gotten here for the past week that you guys have been in my life! Thanks for being so open and free with your experiences!

Wow I've just got goosebumps too. It really warms my heart to hear stories like this (not the fire part, obviously) but the fact that people can open their hearts to help people they don't know. There is no better feeling.

Hi all ~
Just stopping in to say hi! I watched The Biggest Loser last night with tons of emotions going through me. I was so mad at Joelle - I would have yelled and screamed a long time ago. I was hoping she was going home. Of course, it ad to be my two favorite people on the show. I cried when Jerry was on the scale and fast forward through the voting (DVRed it last night) but LOVED seeing him and Estella afterward - gosh they LOOK GOOD! I am so happy for him and her!!! THey got their health back and great that he was a role model for the older generation to get up and start moving!

I dont' know who was talking about Jesse the trainer and being reminded of Jesse from Workout - it TOTALLY reminds me of that too. Every time I read about Jesse the trainer I have his face as an image in my head. Is that show coming back on????

ANyway - just wanted to say I was really good yesterday and even worked out with 1980's Denise Austin tape during naptime and I was craving Chipotle - a huge downfall.... well I hadn't eaten very much for the whole day and I figured out that I could afford to have the veggie bol -- it was delicious. I have to not go there again anytime soon!! It really is too tempting.

I just spent some time reading DisneyDawn's TR - very nice looking family. You really must watch out for them - they are three good looking kids.

Must go and feed the cerubs lunch! I will try to get on at naptime!
TTFN!

Paula, hope it goes well. And is a GOOD chick flick this time! :)

me too... it will be interesting if nothing else right...

Ugh.. I feel your pain on the migraine. Hope you feel better soon...

Melissa - awesome story. Hope things work out for these folks and they get back on their feet soon.

shoot, there were others things I wanted to say and totally forgot them...:headache: Once I remember them, I'll be back...

Paula

Melissa, that is a great story. It's awesome of you to take it on, and wonderful that people are reaching out. :goodvibes

Kat, I'm sorry to hear about the migraine. Does caffeine help? Not that we drink diet soda, that's just wrong. :lmao:

Steph - Hi!!! You can totally suggest a song. But I think I have one that you might like. But, suggest away!

Hey - I will be in Farmington this weekend visiting my niece...I'll wave!:wave2:

Quick post. I need to be working...(story of my life)

OMG, it so isn't!

Hey Lyz...have you seen the pics of Ferris? He looks just like Julie! (Corey is my friend on Facebook, and he has been posting pictures there.)

I just saw that's where I'd have to go. I know nothing about facebook. Can you give me a direct link or do I really have to sign up and befriend Corey? (Will you lift a pic for me, pretty please?)-

PS - did I mention that I testing the dating waters again... not much to report, but am chatting with a few guys. Nothing serious, but there are some possibilities.

Paula, your dating stories really help my husband out and he doesn't even know it!

SO I keep meaning to say, I loved seeing your desk, down by the river, oops, I mean, under the stairs! And the project, omg. Beautiful.

but I wanted to share something with you guys... like a human interest story - I've gotten choked up and gotten goosebumps more than once over this.

Melissa - that is an awesome story. And you are an awesome person for helping that family out!

Definitely a great story!!

Actually, it appears to be held at bay for now. Maybe all the endorphins from the exercise help? Or the "eating clean"?

No, caffeine doesn't usually help. Or advil. Or even vicodin. It is an untouchable headache, and I didn't even know what a migraine was before, but I guess it is one.

I have read up on it and it is something to do with your hormone levels dropping during the "off" week between active pills. There are a couple of different treatment options and I will be discussing with the dr, but the first annual checkup appt that I could get was in March.

Plus, you can make me give up diet soda (which I haven't really, I still have one with lunch like I always have), but I will NEVER give up coffee. Believe me, even if I did, I think my coworkers would hold me down and force it down my throat. I am a WITCH without morning coffee.

Quick post. I need to be working...(story of my life)

Then get back to work.... ;)

I just saw that's where I'd have to go. I know nothing about facebook. Can you give me a direct link or do I really have to sign up and befriend Corey? (Will you lift a pic for me, pretty please?)-

Paula, your dating stories really help my husband out and he doesn't even know it!

um... ok ;) I hope it helps reinforce that there are some really crummy guys out there...

SO I keep meaning to say, I loved seeing your desk, down by the river, oops, I mean, under the stairs! And the project, omg. Beautiful.

Thanks... it has been a true privilidge to work on these projects. Not many people can say that they worked on a project like this - even if it is from a desk under a staircase.

Melissa - that is an awesome story. And you are an awesome person for helping that family out!
Word...

Oh and I checked out Workouts' Jesse. While he looks nothing like my trainer, their philosophies are similar. Show up, do something and make it count. That will get you to your goal. One of the side benefits to my training sessions is the fact that I am learning all of the gym gossip. I can tell by the look on his face when he sees someone wasting their time by showing off and not really working out. He calls it a waste of a membership. Last night it was this chick on one of the bikes who was spending her time pedalling (at an easy going rate), chatting on the phone and texting. That was her workout. My trainer has a snarky side - who knew? Here's hoping he isn't being snarky about me otherwise he will get my angry eyes...
