In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

Wow, you guys were busy. I gotta hurry out the door to talk with the school. If I don't get saisfaction, I'm calling in the big guns ~ the ex. He isn't good with controling emotions, so it's best that I deal with it. I hope to have details tonight. Oh and through all this drama, I will continue to stick to my diet.

I hope everybody has a Drama-free day out there. Paula ~ love your desk. I would be so claustraphobic. LisaV ~ hang in there. See ya on the flip-side.

So instead, I did my own little version of the Goofy! Yes, I did 39.3 miles in 2 days...thought not all running like the real Goofy.

Sunday - biked 26.2, snowshoe trek for 2 miles, run for 2.1 miles.
Today - 9 mile run. It was a stonker of a run at a SLOW pace (like 11:30 pace, which is about a minute per mile slower than my normal pace, but it has been weeks since I have done a long run, so I had to shift into low gear to get through it).

Erika! I'm sorry I missed this the first time around! GO YOU!! WoW! :woohoo: I'm doing Jumping Jacks for you! :yay: Thanks for being an inspiration!

I will post a trip/race report soon, but here is a pic of me with my Donald bling...

So we're in for goofy 2010 right???? I am beginning to think these long distance races are kind of masochistic but I want to do it anyhow!!

Amy! I just wanted to my CONGRATULATIONS to those already said!! What a fantastic accomplishment! See... don't know if it would work for me - I would have to run in front of other people!!

What is the shortest run that Disney does? I think I need to keep my goals small!

So, after something like running a marathon - do you still get to do the parks?

Again! Congrats!

Hi gang...

Erika - its official, you are seriously insane for wanting to run and 1/2 an a full marathon in the same weekend, but I love you for that. I am definitely in your corner to conquer this challenge.

To the 2009 Princess 1/2 folks... Get training... I wish I could be there, but I am already committed to some Odyssey of the Mind stuff that weekend and I am pretty confident that I won't be able to handle 13.1 miles at that pace with only six weeks of training. My body is changing, but not that fast. If I were to be swept, I would be devastated. I'll be with you in spirit that day though... I am still working on my biking goal for July and will put the 2010 Princess on my calendar - kay...

LisaV - I'm with you, the first building was cool and the second not as much.

Nancy - thanks for the props. I do love my job despite the stress and the need for my angry eyes.

LisaPR - sign up for the Goofy, you know you want to. This month's Women's Health has an article about women in their 40's, 50's and 60's who routinely run endurance races. What a great motivator... Don't do this for anyone but yourself. Challenge yourself. You will be stronger because of it.

Amy - let the emotions flow... you accomplished an amazing feat so let your mind work through it all.

Kelly - hope things are still nice and toasty across the pond

Melissa / Jena / Aimee / Stacey and everyone else - you have been kind of quiet lately.... hello - we miss you...

Off to find my desk top... it has been covered with paper yet again and I need to get caught up again.

Paula

For the love of writers...I logged on this morning and thought the computer was screwed up...

With the cold weather today...40 below with windchill..a high of 8 below reg temp...and 5 inches of snow yesterday...the internet was moving sloooow...then the kids needed the computers all last night for end of the semester papers and such...so I hit the sack before 10m...but I had been up since 3:30 a.m. dealing with Treyer's crud...so I was tired!

Have to admit that I did not do well yesterday...did not even track...and my bloated fingers are a sure sign of too much carbs...so back to tracking today...my boss used to tell me to take whatever was bothering you, pretend to place it onbetween your thumb and pointer finger, squish it, place it on your shoulder and then flick it...you don't then need to dwell on it for the next 2 years...SQUISH IT AND FLICK IT....that is my food for yesterday...today is a new day...

I was watching Rachel Ray yesterday and Bob Green was on...talking about women and weight gain and how it never is about the food...it is about realizing why you do not feel that you are deserved of a better life...that so many women will lose weight, excersize faithfully...then sabatoge themselves and only because being happy, realizing that they are as good, or better than those arround them...is not a comfortable place. That winning is scary...because the next thing is wondering what you will lose...no good comes without a bad in many heads...and thus the cycle begins...we can choose our weight because it is a choice...vs having something happen to us that we do not control...again...accepting success in ourselves is so hard...

He said that statistiaclly...if you are not ready to lose weight and keep it off...you are better doing it slow...than losing and gaining and losing and gaining...that if you in your head, you are not ready for the success...the sabbatoge will keep comming...

He talked about Oprah...how every time she looses...the personal attacks are on her charachter, her interview style, her money etc... not her weight...so she gains because being critiqued about weight is a more comfortable place for her than her inner self...kwim?

He also talked about how many women are 10-15 pounds form goal...then plateau...and then gain...because they cannot face what caused them to gain in the first place...that weight at it's core is not the food...it is the emotional part...

So for that...again..I am greatful to this thread...for helping carry each others emotional loads when they are too much to bear on our own. Because the stength we will find in our new bodies...will only be a result of working through all the blocks...mentally strong as well as physically.

:sad1: I'm jealous. I have no Disney trip scheduled. Remember? My family wanted something *different* (well, not DD...she and I will live at Disney someday...together...:cloud9: )...anyway...our next trip is to San Antonio. YEE-HAW  I just ordered me up the Texas Travel Guide yesterday. :rotfl:

When are you going? That is one of my dream destinations! Why did you guys choose there?

Hey Ladies!!

Your little group here is an amazing oasis for those of us looking to belong! To be able to sit at the popular table!

I hope each of you have an amazing day! I'm sending each and everyone a  - use it as you see fit!!

:hippie:
We all belong...some of us just took longer to open the invitation!:)

So instead, I did my own little version of the Goofy! Yes, I did 39.3 miles in 2 days...thought not all running like the real Goofy.

Sunday - biked 26.2, snowshoe trek for 2 miles, run for 2.1 miles.

So, I definitely feel good about that. But it wiped me out, for sure.

Oh, and the run with Cammie (that is my 7 year old daughter, for those new here...on her own, she decided that she wanted to start running with me!), it was a run/walk combo. It is not like she just got out there and ran for 2 miles right out of the gate. But she kept up a GREAT little pace for herself, considering that her legs are so very short. :lovestruc

Ok, more later.
So very proud of both of you!
Remember how I told you I was a procrastinator??? Well, right now - I'm just taking a break - from what some might ask?? Well... I work in a jobsite trailer - sitting in a field overlooking our new hospital construction project. Since it has gotten cold we have had tiny visitors to our trailer.
Yuck...and then you went and got something not Tupperware :scared1: :lmao: ...I almost had to pick myself off the ground...I will take care of you new friend...help is on the way!!!
Things with Jesse are going well. For the new folks, Jesse is my trainer at the gym. Jesse has a great personality and jokes with me, but also won't take my crap. He had me doing jumping jacks last week and despite my being more than a little self aware of my jiggling parts, his response was that in a year there wouldn't be any more jiggling parts and promptly did the math on how I am on pace to lose about 6 pounds per month and that in a year I would be 72 pounds lighter. He then started asking questions to help me visualize what life 72 pounds lighter would be. Great approach in my book. All this wisdom in a 25 year old "kid."
This was great motivation...seeing myself at a thinner faze...need to cut some pics out...print some settings I want to se myself in.. out..and post them next to my current weight photos...cause how can you have an "after" if you do not visualize it?

Melissa - I feel your pain on this one... We have staunch rules about not storing food in the office unless it is in hard plastic or cans / bottles, etc. Not only do we get mice, but we get certain bugs that have been around forever and will likely outlive us all. Oh yeah, you know the ones... they sometimes hiss, have their own line of hotels...
This is so gross..but last time I wss in NYC...ate at a rest. called "THE BIG WONG"..with Chad and my Directors from Tupp who head there all the time...and a huge...I mean no joke as big as Chad's hand and he is 6'2...cockroach was on the wall from the upstairs apartment heading down...people screamed..I took a pic...cause it was a living fossil...and like akat said...it was the end of my appetite!

I was heading to the grocery store today and considering leaving the thread. A leave of absence, because I am not working the WW this moment. Now, i did it up until yesterday, but because of one bad day, I was done for the WEEK. How insane is that? Did I mention I"m the Mayor of Crazy Town?

Well, the truth is I have been stuck since September. Up down, up down. And now there is some life stuff making me SAD. I literally felt like this was the worst day of my life, a la the movie Office Space - "Every day s the worst day of my life" Peter complains. And today was just AWFUL. So I was done! Shipping out! Taking the next train to Crazy Town! And then I thought about Lyz.

Lyz has stuck with this thread even when her head hasn't been in the game. And Kat. Kat has been totally on, and totally off, but she's still here. And they are not the only ones, just two examples of good friends I have because they stayed. They come as they are. It's not always pretty, but they're here.

If they hadn't done that, we wouldn't be friends. So show up no matter what. One bad day, one awful week, one horrendous month. We don't care if you are on or off.

And again, this is mostly for me. Because today I would love to throw in the towel, wear sweats until May, and give up. So if the "queen of WW" feels like that, newbies, you've got nothing to live up to! :lmao: You're already ahead!
Liz...you cannot leave your family...because we know where you live and your phone number..and we stalk...just sayin...:3dglasses cause you are us and it would be like losing a leg...and I suck at hopping...no pressure...
So, I'm back to normal posting! Trying to catch up!

I will post a trip/race report soon, but here is a pic of me with my Donald bling...

Now I want one...look at how beautiful you are!
QUOTE]

The necessary costumes: current count is 143 :scared1:

The COSTUME maker? :headache: is having panic attacks.

We had a meeting earlier this evening. Yikes. That's all I have to say about that. Guess I'm going to be a wee bit busy in the coming weeks.
I need a pair of pants sewn...can I send it over since you sound like a sadist?:rotfl2:
I'm absolutely furious right now. My son is 9, almost 10 and a little chubby. I just had to use the bathroom while he was taking a bath and I saw a bruise on his chest. He told me he was pinched on the bus on Friday. OMG ~ rage! It sounds like it was 3 boys and he told me that he told the bus driver. Needless to say, I am going to control my emotions as much as possible and talk with the school tomorrow. I won't let my kids go through the torment that I went through as a kid. It was torture for several years. I was very very low. It makes me sick that kids are so d$%@ mean.

Good job at watching out for him...boys usually do not say when things are bothering them...
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!

They just opened registration for Goofy 2010. Just sayin'....

Seriously, I was all set to register both of us but was caught short by the price tag of this race. $285!!! Times two. That is A LOT. And I don't understand...the full is $125 and the Half is $120. The Goofy shouldn't be MORE than those two combined. (Yes, I know you get the extra medal, etc.)

But the Goofy filled up FAST last year. Like in February.

I will commit right now...but who is with me?

laugh at me...but will someone explain all the differences in each of those races in laymens terms...for someone starting at a 0 right now in the running dept...

Thanks...:goodvibes

Dawn, I got the race explanation thing:
Goofy=39.3 miles in one weekend, the half on Saturday and the full on Sunday.
Dopey=42.4 miles (I think I added right). All of the above plus the Animal Kingdom 5K on Friday morning.
Donald=13.1 miles or a half marathon.
Mickey=26.2 miles or a full marathon.

My "Bob" issue, feeling sorry for myself. I did it when my dad died, I did it when I lost the Goofy for 2009. I have done it throughout my life. The only time I lost weight when feeling sorry for myself was during my divorce, of course I was bodybuilding then. I need to be more aware of this issue so thanks  for the kick....:flower3:

Whats the family racce day thinggy? Like my official runner lingo?:lmao:

Morning. I just had a whole post written out, but deleted it. Just call me LisaV! :rotfl: I want to think about it before I post it.

Looks like LisaPR gave you the scoop on the races. I will register for something this week, just not sure what. Likely the Goofy...if for no other reason than it gives me flexibility. I can do just the Half, just the Full, or the whole shebang.

Lisa/PR--can your send the link where Shelby go into the Shamrock? Is says right on the website that the Half is full. Man, I want to run this race! I was also thinking about the Hyannis Half--it is next month, flat and fast. But it is a big time qualifier for Boston, so the field will be fast. Walkers! I need one with walkers! :rotfl2:

BTW: again realizing the power of guilt...and the reality of it vs in my head...

weighed this morning...only up .6....so not a biggie at all...but how my body feels...is a sign I am listening to it vs stuffing it like I used too when it complained...(as in with an oreo telling it to shut up! Can't complain with your mouth full!:rotfl2: )

Erika, are you looking at the Shamrock or Rock N Roll VA Beach? I am doing the RNR race labor day weekend. This is the link http://www.rnrvb.com/home.html and it does not say it is full. I think I may have confused you along the way with races. Sorry.

Dawn, there are kids races during marathon weekend. I am not sure if that is what you are talking about. Yours are too old I think as the age for the half is 14. There is also a post-marathon party in Downtown Disney which may also be what you are talking about. I am unsure on this one.

Ah, thanks Lisa! Yes, we are looking at different races. I was thinking the Shamrock, not the RNR...both are in VA Beach. My search continues.

Here is our Golden!

AWWW so cute!!!!

Yup, those suckers are just plain disgusting. I had one fall onto my keyboard as I just finished typing and man did it scare the cr@p out of me. :scared1: That sucker was a good 3" long. And yes, one of the guys at work takes care of these things for me. I am convinced he is the older brother I was meant to have. (and for those of you who remember the whole saga of me and my college friend, this guy has met the college buddy and is convinced that we are going to end up together - enter my cackling here).

Anywoo - try not to get too grossed out because if could have been worse... Glad it is under control now though...

On the plus side - no snacking is a good thing!

Paula
Yes Love those critters Paula! When I lived in Hawaii they were just like having ants in the house! OMG I hated it. Not matter how clean the floors and house were they were still there! I had one fall from the ceiling and land on my throat one morning! I had a hand print on my neck for a day because I slapped it so hard!

And I would do the Half at the Hamptons next month (NH), but they don't allow iPods, so that is a deal breaker for me.

So, I will continue my search....
Why no iPods????

Cause you are related to the other two Freak(eriKa) and Show(nancy).
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Love the bling. Great job. SO wish I could do that. Very proud of you.

Yes the BLING is NICE!!! I am echoing Lyz I wish I could do it to! Very proud of you!

Nancy! I'm exhausted just thinking of it.

 My 1099's are done. (newbies, EriKa does have an issue with the bananas, but "I" don't.)
Great Job Lyz I wish my w-2 would come in so I could do my taxes!

Got to go to bed. The house just made strange noises. We just did a walk through. We are not used to houses and strange noises. Besides my sister's haunted house that she lived in for years because it didn't bother her. :scared1:
HAUNTED HOUSE explain... love hearing about haunted houses!! I love watching all the shows on TLC and A&E

So I know I posted my loss yesterday but I went to WW last night and I lost 1.3 not .6 I was so HAPPY! and I ate cautiously yesterday and I tracked my points this morning and I hit my 30 points. Right on the BUtton! So now I just have to stay with it! I need to continue to lose!
Lyz last night I got some good recipes at WW. I will email them one of these days!

Melissa so sorry to hear about your son and the bus. I have had many problems on the bus between the bus driver and other kids! I had the principle actually tell me that my daughter deserved a kick to the face with a winter boot because she was hitting someone with her polar fleece hat! Yeah she got a BLACK eye sitting in the Principles office! Then another time she got off the bus everyday crying for like a week! I finally demanded that she tell me what was going on and she said that the bus driver yelled at her through out the bus run every day! I called the bus garage and demanded to know why and I got some run around story about her not sitting still and then come to find out that they had assigned seating and they had three to a seat and to top it off the kid that kicked her in the face a few years earlier was sitting with her! I was like HELLO they hate each other! Then with zachary's first year on the bus ( my son is loud) he sat behind the bus driver and they sit for about 15 minutes on the bus before school starts and he was being loud so the bus driver had him get off the bus and stand out side the door by himself! I called the bus garage again and had a HUGE fight over the phone ( not good at controlling my feelings) I was told that if he was loud again he would be kicked off the the bus. I told the head of the bus garage he is in Kindergarten and if he gets put off the bus again I will Sue him! Then I called the NEW principle and talked to him and I didn't have a problem again! Then the last year with the bus we had a great driver she loved the kids, she always bought them treats and knowing that Zac was a diabetic she always bought him something sugar free! Still to this day and the kids don't ride the bus anymore she gives them little gifts when she sees them. When my daughter had her surgery over the winter break she sent her a get well card and a pearl bracelet! She is the best!

Ok off to take puppy out for a walk and do some laundry! I hate LAUNDRY!

Oh Kelly Loved the two two hours of 24! I LOVE JACK! And I am also a CSI : las Vegas Freak too! Along with Grey's and private practice and prison break! I have to DVR them all because I work at night!

Erica, Great Bay is really not as bad as billed. There are 3 consecutive hills, big, medium, big and then it is mostly flat. Mostly, as there is a slight grade at the end. It really was not that bad. And, hmmm, why not the CMM half in April? It is school vacation week.....my whole family is going.....kids will have someone to hang with.....Shelby is old enough to babysit.....

Hi all ~
Just a quick note to say I am all caught up for the time being with this thread. You guys sure like to chat -- but I love that!

This morning I got up to -24 below zero in my town!!!! What??? Needless to say I couldn't pull myself out of bed to go to the gym. It's no excuse I know!

I had a baked potato for breakfast -- the breakfast of champions. I actually thought it was a good idea - very filling and not at all bad for you. I could have done worse -- like the chocolate cake that we made yesterday for hubby's birthday. I figured out that it was 5 points for my potato with sour cream and 1 tsp of margarine - is that right?

HockeyKat - we are going to be ready for bikinis -- I will be there with you chick! We WILL make it...we WILL make it....we WILL make it!

I am going to try to get to Weight Watchers tonight to weigh in -- if the weather cooperates , I think it might snow :( again:(
I realize I live in a state that is cold but I really think I am supposed to live in Florida.

Have a good day everyone! Keep on keepin' on!

Steph - all I can say to you story from Hawaii is ew.... that is nasty and I would have picked up and moved right then and there. That is the reason why I could never live somewhere tropical. The bugs freak me out...

Melissa - I am sorry I haven't commented on your son's issue before. It brought up some painful memories from my childhood and it is awful and wrong. It is still hard to believe just how cruel kids can be. Good luck with your battle with the school. I am fighting with you on this one. No one should have to go through that for any reason period.

OK - back to work for me...

Paula

Kelly - hope things are still nice and toasty across the pond

Still toasty :woohoo:

Have to admit that I did not do well yesterday...did not even track...and my bloated fingers are a sure sign of too much carbs...so back to tracking today...my boss used to tell me to take whatever was bothering you, pretend to place it onbetween your thumb and pointer finger, squish it, place it on your shoulder and then flick it...you don't then need to dwell on it for the next 2 years...SQUISH IT AND FLICK IT....that is my food for yesterday...today is a new day...

24 only started here last night, so Ive had one lot of 2 hours, and another 2 hours next monday :woohoo:
I also watch all 3 CSI's, Grey's, ER, Dirty Sexy Money (when its on) and Criminal Minds (when its on). This is in addition to House - got to love the Brit actors!

I really do other things besides watch TV...honestly! :lmao:

I had a baked potato for breakfast -- the breakfast of champions. I actually thought it was a good idea - very filling and not at all bad for you.

I love the idea of having a baked potato for breakfast! :thumbsup2

Does anyone have the post number of the "cast of characters"?? I need a cheat sheet! I'm trying to keep up! :upsidedow

I think I got my 'cast list' from the first page of the 3rd thread? Not sure now?! Ive just added to it as Ive gone along!

Im Kelly, by the way - but I answer to anything! I like to answer to Bella, which is my new thread nickname :rotfl2:

LisaPR--Yes, I overhydrated. OMG. I thought I was going to die from miles 9-13 :scared1: (well not really but that is how bad I felt)...I am so glad I was still able to finish, but at the same time I am harboring a bit of disappointment since I finished in 3:15, a half hour LONGER than my 1/2 in november.

You know, that really is so appropriate. Dopey! I love it. Because after that much running in a weekend, you either have to be dopey to attempt it, or will be dopey after!

Yes!! We definitely will.

I forget, where do you live? It is cold this week in NC, only in the mid-40s and the 20s at night.

And like the baked potato for b-fast thing. Have you tried reduced fat or fat free sour cream? I would also recommend the parkay or I can't believe it's not butter sprays, you can spray about 10 times for like 5 cals (not sure on the points). Don't believe the "0 cal" thing as I think each "serving" is like .5 cals, hubby and I used to make the mistake of using dumps from the bottle in place of oils/butters. :rolleyes1

Hope everyone has a great day! I think I might attempt kickboxing which will mean no getting out of my chair tomorrow. Hockey kicked my behind last night but I am feeling pretty good today and deliberately wore a sports bra to work to make me get up and go at lunch.
