In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

Well, let me tell you, Erean - am I getting that right? - you can do it. I don't know you (yet) but I know that if you want it, you can do it.

Welcome to our group!

WELCOME, Erean! (Is this pronounced Erin?) And where are you from? Across the pond? Or here in the states?

And as someone who is very competitive, I am ALL ABOUT proving your husband wrong! Like Liz said, if you want it, you'll get there. We'll help.

ALL--Ok, we have new friends. I will call the cast and post it all.

Hi all...

OK - Tuesday night dinner with the family was fun... actually ate my mom's cooking for the first time in a while and it was yummy... portion controlled, but yummy...

Then it was off to training and my trainer kicked my butt... I doubled the time on my planks (very exciting for me) and Jesse (that's his name) is impressed with my attitude and my attack on my workouts so whoo hoo... I am doing something right... yeah....

Caught up on the last few pages and welcome loonieroonie (I just love that screen name by the way) and then off for my post workout snack. I'll be back in a few.

Paula

Welcome Erean! We are a chatty but friendly bunch. :)

Here is my food for today, so far (there will be more, I am just putting this up to figure out how much):
B: fiber one + milk (80)
L: ham/laughing cow on flax pita (150), salad (100)
S: clementine (35), 1/2 cup cottage cheese (90), sf jello (10)
D: hot dog roll (80), 2 oz hamburger (80)

So, so far, 625. Hmm, what else to eat for dinner....

And once again, this wasn't on purpose. I wound up at work until 8:30, left, then realized I have a dentist appt tomorrow AM and insurance card was at work, so had to turn around and get it, and didn't get home until 9:15 or so.

I don't usually go to bed until 1 or so, so a 9-10PM dinner isn't as bad as at sounds.

:welcome: Erean!!

This is a wonderful, supportive group!

Your Tip o' the Day shamed me into posting! :rotfl:
My name is Kelly, I feel horrendous due to a horrible cold and I found myself face down in the 'Tin of Sin' before I could even stop myself. :sad2:

Since Saturday night Ive felt shocking, headache, eyes ache, nose aches, fingernails ache, eyelashes ache - you get the picture! I managed to keep on track until today (its 2pm here if you thought id gone mad early in the morning!) - I got up this morning and my heating doesn't work (its below 0 today, lovely!), ive had to come to work to cover someones sickness even though I am sick too, and the plumber has only just got to my house to fix the heating even though I rang 5 hours ago! :scared1:

So, here I was at work, minding my own business when BLAM! Face down in the tin of sin. I inhaled at least 15 chocolates before I could say 'Whoopsie Daisy'.

So thats me. Its a sad state of affairs, but at least the chocolate craving has gone! :rotfl2:
Im back on track now..I promise!

I hope you get to feeling better. We have had alot of sickies in Southern Indiana (ie middle o nowhere).

Guess what - I have heat!
Guess what part two - I have a big hole in the wall next to my fireplace where they had to break through to get to 'The Pump' (whatever that may be) to fix the heating and the radiators.

So, heat + hole in wall = happy and slightly confused Kelly. Happy because of the heat, confused because no one surely told me they'd knock a hole in the wall!

Hey ho, we rent the house we live in and our Landlord is a pretty cool guy so hes going to send a Plasterer round (at some point) to fix the wall, and he will pay for the paint to paint the new bit of wall.

Oh, and I was walking for the bus this morning and I slipped on the ice so I'll have a nice bruise on my bummocks tonight! :lmao:

Honestly, one day I will wake up and nothing will go wrong. Yeah, right :rotfl2:

Hugs to you.

I have one little thing to say.

FAFSA forms. :scared1:

In case of a panic attack, will the oxygen masks drop from my ceiling???

They are much easier now. Paper forms bite. Deep breaths ~ IT WILL BE OK. Promise! Oh, taxes have to be finished first.

Oh! And the Bueller comment...forgot to mention....Ferris!

Really?!?! Lyz, Aimee--what do you guys think? (As always, if you have no idea what we are talking about....PODCAST, people! Get with it.)

:lmao: :rotfl2: Love it!

Ok Dawn...remember that you ASKED for advice, k? :rotfl2: :lmao:

What in the bloody hell (like my Brit reference Kel?) are you thinking drinking WHOLE milk!!! :scared1:

My gosh! Tastes like heavy cream to me now.

Unless you want your bummocks to DOUBLE in size, stay away from it like the ever-loving plague!

Don't tell me it is one of those "natural" things....(like eating the whole egg, etc.) cause while there is some truth to the egg issue, there are VERY few people on the planet who should be drinking whole milk. I can give the science here if needed, but have to go to the bus.

Egg beaters taste just as good as the real stuff and half the calories!

Another tip of the day since I am on this rampage...DON'T DRINK YOUR CALORIES. Juice is just sugar. And even milk has a ton of sugar in it (yes, really). WATER, green tea. Word.

Amen, sister! WORD!

I cant stomach whole milk! I drink skimmed milk if I ever feel the urge for a glass of milk. I know some people find it too 'watery', but I think its ok, you really do get used to it. Plus, when I was doing WW I could drink 3 times as much skimmed milk as whole milk for the same points!

Hello, yes. I would take 3 times the amount any day! More more, give me more.

Green tea and water are definitely the way to go. Word. (Always wanted to say that, don't even know if I used it right - don't much care if I did or not, it made me laugh! :lmao: )

I think you did just fine. :lmao:

My personal "I'm not a professional, but this is what I've learned from those who are" opinion, is that 1000 calories is not enough. Once in a while, a day like that is ok, but not all the time.

Your body needs a certain number of calories to function properly. And if you don't give it enough, over time it recognizes that, goes into a protective "starvation" state...where it actually starts slowing things down, so you need less and less just for daily "being".

Not too mention, that the deprivation that I would feel on only 1000 calories a day would only lead me to binging disaster. I need to know that this is something I can do for the long-haul. And I know for me, what that means in terms of calories. I am in the same ball park as Paula - when I am counting calories, I am looking for a daily average of 1750. Some days may be in the 1600 range, others in the 1900, or even 2000...but over the course of a week, my "big picture" should show an average of 1750.

Wow, flashback. Went through this during a very dark time in my life. It was ugly. That's what makes me so mad about some of the fad diets. It has to be healthy for long term in order to work.

Liz, YES! I will totally friend marry you!!

I did pilates today. It felt great. I had killer TOM cramps and honestly did not feel like doing anything, but am so glad I did. I actually felt better after. I am preparing to have Jillian kick my butt tomorrow. :scared1:

This is kinda scary. The rest of the management team goes through their TOM together too. Maybe we spend too much time around each other?!? :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Who hasn't shown up yet on here today?? LisaV? Amiee (she may have been here early? They are going to pass out when they see how much we have posted!!

Warm up the paddles please. CLEAR! Sorry, had to have my heart restarted, lol.

Ok, so I love Maine and all. But really, we do have our share of toothless, cousin-marrying, white trash. :lmao:

Love it!!

Um, so what does that make us all? Polygamists? Groupists? :rotfl:

Groupists!

I'd love to join your group. I need all the support I can get to lose a lot of weight.

I'd like to gain confidence. Dh laughed when I told him I was going to start walking and then jogging. He doesn't think I'll make it. He also doesn't think I can diet. I can't. I won't, but I'll do portion control, cut out the soda as much as possible, and exercise.

I'm looking forward to a great year. I have many goals other than my weight goal to achieve. Hope I can do it.

Welcome! Please tell us a bit about yourself. As you can tell by the 500 posts today, we are a supportive group. As for your DH, that sounds like a perfect challenge to me. Prove him wrong!

Was the thead on steriods today??

Ok, the venting part. Last night when I had to talk with two employees, one lied to me. She was a temp and the lie was bad ~ very bad. I think you can figure out what happened. Tough day.

On the good side, it looks like I am going to be in line very soon to be promoted to a supervisor. I was supposed to have the position in April 08, but we didn't get the growth we needed. I do the job, just don't have the title. I really do enjoy my job, but I want to move up too.

As far as eating goes, I follow a low bad carb diet (try to make it low fat too). I had egg beaters and a skinny latte for breakfast. Ate two bites of salad for lunch. Chicken tasted off. :scared1: Then ate a protein bar so I didn't want to strangle anybody. Wolfing down a big bowl of homemade veggie soup now. Might have a snack since I didn't really eat much this afternoon. My boss was passing the candy again during a meeting. I abstained! :cheer2: Even though it is the TOM for me, I am still going to weigh in tomorrow.

Once again, I have noticed my IM going off. Take a breather ladies.

Hi Everybody!!!

Ok, this is what I have so far....I am still going, so please don't be offended if you aren't on here or if your info. is not up to date.

Dan is the man in my life God blessed me to have at a time I thought love would never be in my vocabulary...and you may hear of Chad - he is the kid's Dad and sometimes referred here as "Giant Turd" (BTW: who coined that? E was that you?)
I currently weigh about 250 - and have been doing WW for about 2 months - not faithfully though! My goal is 145...and that will be achievable!
#2 What are some of your trigger foods? Carbs...in all forms...pasta, bread..sweet crusty sourdough...and many cookies...
#3 What form of exercise (activity) would you love to do but have limited yourself from due to weight/confidence? I want to scuba dive in the worst way...and many outdoor activities that my size has scared me away from...like white water rafting, mountain biking, rock climbing (oh...that might be my nails deterring there!)
#4 Occupation (if legal)Tupperware DIQ
#5 What do you want to achieve from a healthier body / lifestyle? Shop and not worry if they have clothes to fit in the store, not be worried about booths at restraunts, not worry about lap bars on rides...play a game of soccer with my kids without them taking it easy on me...

#2 What are some of your trigger foods?I am pretty good here. I don't eat crap...just too much in general.
#3 What form of exercise (activity) would you love to do but have limited yourself from due to weight/confidence?Surfing! I live on the coast and have always been an ocean girl. And I miss surfing. Wetsuits are no friend to those with even the slightest bulge.

#5 What do you want to achieve from a healthier body / lifestyle?A smokin' hot bod. This sounds trite, but it is real. I have always been healthy, even when overweight. 40 is right around the corner and if I have to turn 40, I want to be freaking fabulous!

oh. just "some"? Bread. Cheese. and Wine. Definitely wine. I don't really eat "bad" food - just too much of the good stuff.
#3 What form of exercise (activity) would you love to do but have limmited yourself from due to weight/confidence? (Steph...be PG... )
I don't feel limited by my weight at this point in time...
#4 Occupation (if legal)
Paid job (part time, full time during the fall) I work at a local apple orchard where I cook in the farm kitchen - open year 'round, but insanely busy during the "apple season". Other than the owner, the only full-time employee.
Non-paying job (more of a hobby gone wrong! )- we raise goats. Lots and lots of goats. Both dairy (for the milk) and meat. I make and sell goat milk soap with some of my excess milk.
#5 What do you want to achieve from a healthier body / lifestyle?I know how much better I feel when I'm not carrying the excess that I have right now - and when I'm eating a much "cleaner" diet. And when I feel good, I think that really has a positive effect on my whole outlook and attitude
#6 If you could celebrate with anything when you reach/ed goal, what would it be...or what would it have been?ummm..dunno. I've been at goal. And I'm working on it again! Does it seem right to reward myself for a "do-over"? Guess it's time to re-evaluate that one.

Lisa, DH Mike, DD13 Shelby and DS7 (today) David. Yes, I was in the delivery room on 9/11/01. I had post baby weight gain in my 30s, post baby and post caring. Then I lost my dad to colon cancer when I was 37. Rocked my world. I decided to eat better, exercise more and live longer than he did.

SeptemberGirl (New Jersey)
#1 Name and Family you care to share plus a little about your weight struggles/programs you are on: Liz, 34, Husband Nick, 34, Daughter Emily, 4.
I started WW in on Oct 24, 2007 at 237lbs. As of 9/19/08, I have lost 75lbs.
#2 What are some of your trigger foods? My trigger moments are more important than my foods. When bored, suffering ennui, or deep-bone sad, I turn to ice cream and popcorn. I will cross alligators to eat popcorn, but when in sound mind can eat it in moderation. I also love bread, good cheese, and all types of booze.
#3 What form of exercise (activity) would you love to do but have limited yourself from due to weight/confidence?
I have become a runner. A baby runner, to be sure, and my a$$ still slaps alarmingly as a I run, but I can do it now. However, I want to do it unobserved, so I go for the cardio theater at the gym - dark and cool and no one can see you - or run outside where no one else is. I don't want to be watched running pathetically.
#4 Occupation (if legal)
I am a freelance writer and editor. Currently, I work with a start-up helping them with writing projects and managing their project planning and setting realistic goals. I also work with clients who are writing books - in my former life I was a fulltime book editor in NYC.
#5 What do you want to achieve from a healthier body / lifestyle?I want to be a smoking hot mom.
#6 If you could celebrate with anything when you reach/ed goal, what would it be...or what would it have been?I will celebrate with an expensive pair of jeans, a trip to Dec to meet my DIS buddies on this thread, and I am tossing around getting my teeth whitened.

loonieroonie - you managed to find yourself inside the loony bin. Congratulations. We've been waiting for you.

Ok, the venting part. Last night when I had to talk with two employees, one lied to me. She was a temp and the lie was bad ~ very bad.

Amiee - Here's the thing. I'd like to know the details. What exactly went down that required firing? (I won't call them or anything, pinky swear.) Thanks so much.

BL - so good. But I don't like how they are treating this like a game show. Taking away half the team. Weight loss, successfully, ought to be the focus.

Okay, Jillian. "When your lips turn blue, then you're going to pass out. But you're not going to die." That's so wrong! But funny.

That's what I love most about Jillian. No stinkin' excuses :lovestruc

Oh, I DO love Bob. I would just WANT Jillian for my trainer.

Ditto.

I'd love to join your group. I need all the support I can get to lose a lot of weight.

Welcome! :cheer2:

I'll do portion control, cut out the soda as much as possible, and exercise.

whoo boy....hot topic :scared: We've been all about soda-bashing the last two days

BTW...day 2 of "fresca free".....and my heart aches for it. :guilty:

WELCOME, Erean! (Is this pronounced Erin?) And where are you from? Across the pond? Or here in the states?

And as someone who is very competitive, I am ALL ABOUT proving your husband wrong! Like Liz said, if you want it, you'll get there. We'll help.

ALL--Ok, we have new friends. I will call the cast and post it all.

uh. yeah. "competitive"?...just a LITTLE :rolleyes1

But in a "good" way. :goodvibes

OK - Tuesday night dinner with the family was fun... actually ate my mom's cooking for the first time in a while and it was yummy... portion controlled, but yummy...

yay :yay:

I doubled the time on my planks (very exciting for me)

I love planks  Nice job on the "double time" :woohoo:

Caught up on the last few pages and welcome loonieroonie (I just love that screen name by the way)

me too. Made me giggle

Ok, the venting part. Last night when I had to talk with two employees, one lied to me. She was a temp and the lie was bad ~ very bad. I think you can figure out what happened. Tough day.

Totally NOT cool

BL - so good. But I don't like how they are treating this like a game show. Taking away half the team. Weight loss, successfully, ought to be the focus.

So I had to go to this stupid parents meeting at school tonight. *MANDATORY* The 8th grade trip to D.C. info meeting. Well, it's the THIRD TIME I've sent a kid on this stinkin' trip. I know the drill. I pay you, drop my kid off at some God awful hour, then pick her up several days later, exhausted and miserable. Why the HE!! do I need to go to your dang meeting?

<deep breath>

I come home...and BL has started. and I'm in the mood for a snack. As I cross the kitchen, DD re-starts BL from the beginning for me. And what does Bob say???? "Don't sit there on your couch eating ice cream" :scared1: WTH? Who told YOU I was going to have ice cream :confused3 So. No ice cream. "Bob" was watching me. My kids told me they are going to put up a "WWBD" sign :headache:

I have to agree with you though Lyz. Love BL. Love how people are empowered to change their lives. Do love that no one has really been eliminated yet....but not so sure about the whole "9 of you are going home" thing. Guess I'll have to wait and see how it works out before I pass judgement on that one....

Major poundage lost this week though, huh? Absolutely amazing.

My food for today:
27 points. Again. right where I want to be. (yay me.)

Exercise:
1 hour cardio. Ran 4 miles/40 minutes, biked 6 miles/20 minutes

Total for challenge: 270/1500

Oh and one more tid bit. Hubs decided he wanted to lose weight with me. Like last time. I lost 70. He lost, must have been close to 100. A whole person out of our bed. We were successful together. And so that's good news. BUT. It really ramps up my pressure. He's only gained back 30 and he'll lose it like, poof, that. See what I'm saying? This is good pressure, I know, but pressure none the less.

Nancy: Totally :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: about the WWBD sign. :lmao:

ummmm...yeah...one more thing.

I couldn't help but notice....

I'm the freakin' old lady here. If all of you who's age Erika hasn't posted are waaaay younger than me? Then just keep your trap shut. I don't wanna know.

Nancy - I'm sure with your "weight/activity" age - you are the baby. Well after EriKa of course.

That IS pressure. Nice to have each other for support...but DANG. Sister...you better get on that dreadmill tomorrow, like it or not!

hey - who you callin' a BABY

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We were talking about our "biological age"...like they do on BL. I'd be interested in what mine is. DH says "32"....the kids...they think I'm like 12...:confused3

Ok, so Lisa/PR and LisaV are 42 and 41, respectively, I think. And Dan is 39 and Dawn is 37. And I am 39...so we are all in the same age-boat. But I did do that "biological age" thing and came out at 31. Which is good since it is younger than my real age, but still kinda pissed me off. Cause I keep thinking I am like 25.

Then we have our next-tier people. Liz and Kat and Lyz and Amy. Ranging in age from 31 - 34.

Then we have our 20-somethings of Sarah and Stacey and I think Kelly, right?

And yes I love, love, love BL. But I don't like that so many went home so fast.

E, I am 33 now and D is 38.

My bio age is probably like 90.

And Lyz, D is on the wagon with me as well. It really helps, at least in my case.

Added about 400 more in food to my total, so at ~1100 or so. 64 oz of water, no exercise.
