In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

Kelly - thanks for that. Probably not them - Thanks though. They seemed pretty clear, if I got it right:lmao: , that they were only singing the other day.

Paula - yes he would be psyched to be scouted by RPI. Is it a good school? I hadn't heard of it before but was told that it is known for engineering (his field). His mom probably pushed him there since she is one. He's a lucky boy, who obviously worked hard, because it's a full scholarship.

I'm smiling at both of them. Born and raised in Southern California. Now is playing hockey is Boston freezing his you know what off and she is in DC doing the same. But I'm sure on such an amazing experience she's not feeling it. But they always come here in the summer. But then again they've gone to many a hockey tournament.

Liz - be gentle with yourself. You have so much to feel. So much. Continued thoughts and prayers to your mom and Jodi.

Erika and Nancy!!!! Boom. :rotfl: :lmao: That's kind of like an outstanding salute to you two. Thanks for telling us - it's inspirational. Share, share, share.

Steph - where the heck are you girl?

Amiee - glad to hear about the detox. I was frightened. :crazy2:

Dawn - oh Dawn don't tell me that about the spices. :rotfl: No new spice Liz - not so lucky - I suspect garlic powder was one in there tasting strange. It wasn't different. It was strange. My mom has spices in those you know those old tin ones. :lmao: :rotfl: I'm shutting up now - I didn't even ask Jean or go investigate. I'm home tomorrow I'm just going to bring some.

Amy - I could use a new Delena pic. That kind of day.

I'm home already. Watching. So nice no matter where your vote was. No matter. Regardless it is something.

Spectacular to see it all. We have no pomp. I love my country. But we have no pomp.

We called an election in September and it was over early November. Of the same year. :rotfl2: :lmao: :sad2: ;)

Pomp and rest stops. Oh how I adore a US road trip. How I adore it.

Hi to everyone.

And Lyz.........you are in my thoughts......

YAY! :yay: I'm lovin' working with the trainer. You still lovin' it too?
AWESOME :cheer2: GO PAULA!!!

I am definitely still loving my training sessions... Last night I was doing these step things and had a 17.5 pound dumbell in each hand. As I was struggling to do these, it dawned on me - a year ago I had this much weight and then some on my body every day for every activity. That visual took my breath away more than the exercise did. I am even more motivated to take the next set of dumbells off of this body...

How are your sessions going?

Me either Liz. I'm happy for those who are on, but I'm not even close. I'm not in a funk, I'm just not in taking care of myself mode. I think I need a break. Cause all I'm doing is beating myself up for not being on.

Paula, great job on the loss, woo hoo.

I have next to no time today. Seriously. My sister is having surgery tomorrow. With a week long hospital stay afterwards. Please pray for her and her doctor, today and tomorrow. I'd so much appreciate it.

And, because I have no time, a lady from church called me today wanting info about a trip, leaving on Feb 14! (Other people found out she was going and hadn't done any planning and told her she must call "Lyz" :lmao: ) They looked on the computer for the first time last night. I'm putting something together for them. The budget is high, so I should be able to find something.

OH - and I have 2 pairs of jeans I wear. Just found a worn out hole in the crotch of todays pair. Great.

Poor Hilary.

Lyz - I will be thinking of and praying for you, your sister, your family and her care givers often over the next few days. Take Liz's advice and take care of you any way you need to. Once things get settled, you can borrow my angry eyes to serve the eviction papers to any weight you may have gained. We are here if you need us... :grouphug:

Just checking in.

Watch out, Dawn...Nancy is on it! I'd be running scared if I were you! :lmao: I mean, I wouldn't want to throw down with Nancy! :scared: I'm just sayin'...

I'm with Erika on this... Nancy trains you know...

Paula! WOW! Goddess crown! You have posted a loss like...4 weeks in a row now? ON IT!

Kat--looks like good snowshoeing weather! :thumbsup2

Me--so far, so good. Tracking, water, at 500 calroies currently, and for exercise, 14 mile bike ride, 2 mile, run, and core.

Erika - thanks for the crown and the kind words... it is kind of scary how the switch has been turned back on, but I am going with it...

Send 'em on over ;)

Nice to let someone ELSE have a turn with a snow day ::yes::

Nice. And I'm tracking down fabric from all over the East Coast. The Joann's in Portland Maine apparently has what I need! :crazy2: Now just to GET it here![/B][/COLOR]

I'm with Nancy - Kat, enjoy your snow day....

Nancy - let me know what you are looking for... we may have some up here. The JoAnn's in Albany is huge...

I am off to get back to work. I am heading out to meet my college friend and head for a birthday dinner for my cousin tonight (and yup, my friend is an honorary member of the Tuesday night dinner crowd tonight because my family is like that... find that you are alone for an event, not anymore because you are coming with us). My goal is to stay away from the bread basket and eat sensibly...

Talk to you all later,
Paula :wave2:

Hi to everyone.

And Lyz.........you are in my thoughts......

RPI is an awesome engineering school - one of the best in the area. It is very difficult to get into and the hockey program is even harder to get into. The fact that your nephew got into both is a huge accomplishment.

Let me know if you need any info on the area.

Paula

Nancy - oh how I want my BF measured just to see. I saw the water weighing on Workout (Bravo). I think it was on there. And it was a mobile van with it. Only in LA mobile van to come and measure your body fat. :lmao: :rotfl: ;)

But I would think that some university PE programs would have it. That would be my guess.

Here is Delena in our room at POR last weekend. She is supposed to be napping here. I caught her peeking around the curtain. We put her pack n play in the sink area since it has a curtain that goes in front of it.

He didn't get scouted by them Paula. That's why he deferred his scholarship and is playing hockey in Boston. He so wants to play. And hopes to be scouted by them now for September. He knew that doing a walk on tryout would get him nowhere because of the strong reputation. Hopefully, he'll get seen and picked up. He'll go to RPI no matter what happens though.

I would love information on the area when you have time Paula. Would love that.

Aaaah. So makes me smile. She has that power. pixiedust: Thanks Amy.

And I know this is against everyone else's wisdom but maybe Kat's, but let me tell you, eat peanut butter cups if it gets you through the day. You have time to lose weight, exercise, etc etc. No one says it has to be this week.

I'm with you on this one Liz. Everyone has their "stress release mechanisms". You know what yours are, Lyz, and now is not the time to try and change them. That's a battle for another time, another place - when life is in a "smooth sailing" kind of mode. :grouphug:

=Also made my jam. From what I tested, it came out awesome, and all of my jars have properly sealed!! Still have a ton of berries left though.

yummmm. Fresh berries. We only get true "fresh berries" for a short time in June...otherwise they are "imported" fresh berries - which are SO not the same. :sad2:

In case you were wondering..you can freeze your whole fresh berries and make more jam at a later date...

Paula - yes he would be psyched to be scouted by RPI. Is it a good school? I hadn't heard of it before but was told that it is known for engineering (his field).

:faint: Is it a good school. Ummm...yeah, it is actually :goodvibes

That's SO inspiring. :thumbsup2 You should be really very proud of yourself. You have accomplished SO much so far. :cool1:

How are your sessions going?

Very well, thanks. Had one this morning - mostly lower body strength and core...she threw a few chest exercises in as well - chin ups and funky push ups...She definitely makes us do things we don't like to do :scared: Pushes us out of our comfort zone....but that's good. That's what we are paying her for! :goodvibes

Nancy - let me know what you are looking for... we may have some up here. The JoAnn's in Albany is huge...

Thanks. If they have it I'll let you know, for sure!!! :thumbsup2

Totally cute pic Amy!

WHAT is SNOWSHOEING??? REALLY? :faint:

This can't only be an American thing, can it?

Well, it is like taking hike in the snow with these strapped to your feet:

:lmao: :lmao:

Ok - back to work for me. I'm totally sidetracking from what I'm SUPPOSED to be doing. :rolleyes1

Don't forget Biggest Loser tonight! :cool1:

Wow Paula. Wow. Just wow. So inspiring.

Paula, YOU GO!! I am so proud of you.

Lisa, RPI is definitely a good school. I did a fellowship there in college.

Amy, SUCH a cute picture!!

E, snowshoeing. Yeah. For the one day every 5 years that we get a measurable amount of snow!! We did get 6" though, I measured!! :rotfl:

Nancy, I have a feeling my snow day is different than yours. Mine includes a 22 oz beer and this (yes, this is my patio, from about 30 min ago):

I'm in for your snow day. Totally.

Kat-OMG. So jealous of your hot tub. I've enjoyed looking at all of your pictures! What kind of 22oz beer?? I myself am having a happy inauguration blue moon with a fresh florida orange slice!

Beer of choice for today is Bass. :)

Thanks, on the hot tub! We actually got it for free, as an ex-coworker of mine had it sitting broken in his backyard and wanted rid of it. After about $500 and a bunch of ebay-ing and searching the net on how to fix hot tubs, it works great!

Ok, totally funny story.

So half of J's team is in NC. Right where Kat is, actually. And they all e-mailed in to J today (head office) saying that they had to work from home because of the snow, etc. Later in the day, they all e-mailed pics of this big snow event.

So Jeff and his Maine team are all like, "Aw, isn't that cute?" :rotfl:

But the really funny part came when he told me this story and I said NO WAY! My friend Kathryn who is down there did the same thing! Took pictures and posted them, etc. OMG, we laughed hysterically.

For comparison sake, you know street name signs? The one that says "Maple Ave." or whatever? Our snow banks are OVER those.

Not bragging. I love Maine. I really do. It suits me and it is such a great place to raise a family. But I am not a cold weather fan at all. I am outdoorsy, sure. But much prefer WARM outdoors.

Lyz - i'm glad to see you made it through Sunday night relatively unscathed! Praying for your sister!

Lisa/v- I'm so glad to hear about Jean, thats such great news!!!

Liz - sorry to hear the SIL situation is getting worse!

Paula - congrats on the loss!!!

Only have a few minutes, have to do my homework. Long day yesterday, didn't get home from school until after 9 and then i kind of zoned out for a while. Started a new project streamlining all of the procedures are my company today, so i've been busy there. Bruce and I are going out of town this weekend to see his family, this will be our "christmas" with them, we haven't seen them in a while. Hard part will be eating well, they always order out stromboli one night, and eat strip steak & potatoes on saturday. Yum, but baaaaaad for my waist! I'll have to kick up with willpower!

I hope everyone is having a good week.... off to do some case studies....
:teacher:

Hey E, just imagine if it were 75 where you were? You would totally be taking pics of you and yours in bathing suits at the beach in Jan. Just sayin'. ;)

I'm finally home from work! :cool1: Famished, but here.

In work news, we are having a pre-Super Bowl tailgate party and guess who gets to call for catering prices?!? You got it right ~ Me! We are supplying pizza and wings for 40 people and it really floors me that only one place was going to wheel and deal. Amazing! Well, the place we are using is selling us 200 assorted wings and 11 large pizzas for around $200 tax included (saving at minimum $60). We buy a ton of food over the year for rewards ~ a very nice sized budget for it. If I have my way, I will only deal with this business for our pizza from now on. Top it off, she had a great phone presence and was wonderful to talk with (I help oversee a call center ~ can't help it!).

Anywho, I am off to catch up on the postings! Have a great night peeps!

I have some outstanding news. She got a permanent position today in another board.

Lisa! Tell Jean Congrats from me. That is great news and exactly what you two needed.

Today, my friends, is a SNOW DAY!!! :cheer2:

:lmao: It's funny. You act kinda excited that it was a snow day. As long as it doesn't hang around, right? Loved the pics.

Lyz, I got your back. I put my dad on it...cause he's like, connected, you know? :goodvibes

:lmao: :flower3:

For comparison sake, you know street name signs? The one that says "Maple Ave." or whatever? Our snow banks are OVER those.

Ugh!

Thanks to everyone for prayers and good vibes. I'll keep you posted. Probably even check in tomorrow, as we'll be sitting around for quite a while. I had Mol charge up her game boy so I could play tetris.

Amy - where did you find the jars? Love that pic. So adorable. She IS your husband.

Paula - you so rock. You are turning into a freakshow.

Liz - yes. Today is so big. No, I didn't vote for Obama, but he IS the president. Very exciting day. Chills and goosebumps and all that good stuff. Big hug for you, just cause.

Hi to everyone. There was someone else I wanted to talk too. I'll remember later.

Nancy - aren't you supposed to be sewing, or at least cutting?
