In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

So. What did everyone have for dinner tonight?

My issue this past week has been planning. Normally, I whip together dinner no worries. But honestly, if I'm not going to eat my emotions in candy bars - been there, done that - I'm going to have to feel them. And that makes me sad and tired and not motivated to cook. Like, classic I Can't Deal. So today I went and stocked up on some stuff.

Canned Progresso soups - for lunch, and first course dinner. Low in fat, low in calories/WW points, and a serving of veggies.

Frozen shrimp - great diet food.

Three of these frozen shrimp and rice/pasta meals. There was a deal at the local store on these, and they each came out to be 5 WW pts for a meal - about 270 and 290 calories, and that's with protein, veggies, and starch. Just heat and serve.

Frozen veggies - the Steamfresh kind.

Boca Burgers - on Erika's suggestion, for quick meals.

Smart Ones - just a handful, on the days when I'm alone and even lunch is too much. I won't do these for dinner, but lunch is okay once a week or so.

So. Any other suggestions? For super fast, no brainers? Meals that you can make in 5 minutes without any heart or soul? You know, the I'm Giving Up on Life meals. But low fat, low cal. The stop gap between cooking for real and Taco Bell.

Suggestions welcomed!!!

-If you are exercising in your living room turn the heat off before you start. Otherwise chances are you will pass out (like I nearly did!)
-If you are exercising in your living room CLOSE THE CURTAINS! I nearly gave made my neighbours eyeballs explode.

Ummm Kelly...if you mention the word Excersize to Steph...it takes on a whole different conotation which will then make these statements even funnier...:lmao: and the visual for your neighbors a pay per view event...:3dglasses :rotfl2:

It is going to be -30 below tonight REGULAR TEMP...and with windchill -50 below...schools are already closing...coldest in over 5 years...heading your way you East Coast beauties...Happy January baby....:scared1:

It is making me want to get a moving van pronto...

I guess I shouldn't complain that it's going to frost here on friday night??? :rolleyes1

Egg salad/hard boiled eggs

sandwich meat..cheese slices...subway fixings...

And I love Boca chicken patties....my favorites are the spicy ones...just by themselves ...no buns...awesome..:yay:

Leanne - welcome to the group, so glad to have you here!!!:goodvibes

Paula - hooray, i'm crossing my fingers for positive dating experiences :goodvibes

Kat - so sorry you aren't feeling well today....

Melissa - that's so awesome what you are doing for that family. My father is a fire chief so we would see that type of thing often (and this year was an awful year for fires around the holidays it seems). I'm sure the family appreciates your gestures more than you know!!!

Liz - i'm totally buying star stickers to start putting on the calendar. That's a great idea and any little bit of motivation helps!

SO i received excellent news today. Bruce has worked his way up the food chain a bit and has enough seniority to go on day shift with every other weekend off starting sometime in early february. I'm so excited!!!!! It's not permanent as he is on a small team working on a new prototype thing for their program, it is on hiatus temporarily, but when it goes live again he goes back to B shift, but hey, i'll take what i can get while i can get it!!!!!

So i'm a happy girl today :goodvibes

Tracked everything today, still have a few points left and i'm feeling a little bit munchy so i may have to go on a snack scavenger hunt....

Liz - I swear this changed my eating life. Love fajitas. Sometimes don't have the time or energy. I'm such a liar with me it's lazy. :rotfl: :lmao: So I found a quick way. So I use my favourite frozen patties - beef, chicken, can be tofu. :lmao:

While they are cooking on my contact grill - I heat up a frying pan throw in mushrooms, onions, peppers - whatever. Frozen garlic cube.

While that's going - heat up tortilla in microwave. Sometimes grate cheese.

And voila - five/six minutes it's all done at the same time. And so yummy. Avacodo - salsa anything. But I try to keep it simple as I can. So fast.

Enjoy - you must so tired/wiped Liz. Think about you all the time. And happy to see that you are thinking of support for all that you are going through. to you. to your mom and family.

Lisa

Stacey - so glad to hear about the change for your husband. You must be thrilled. I have to catch up still. I most go back and read about school.

Great, albeit, temporary news about Bruce! What does he do, again?

And the tracking. Keep on keeping on! I love tat other people are ON!

OMG, Fajitas! DUH. See? Again, simple. I can even buy grated cheese!

I am emotionally wiped. I need to just be patient with myself, and that's the hardest part really.

Thanks, Lisa. :goodvibes

Liz - Bruce is an LMSW (social worker) and he currently works on the national veterans suicide prevention hotline for the Veterans Administration here in Canandaigua. Comes with some nice federal perks, but sometimes a sucky schedule, i'm excited even if he is only on days for a short while, i MISS him!

Umm..I may be visiting your area sooner than you think...and I can find where you live...;)

Don't worry, Amy! I'll protect you!

Yes! And you can even get the stir-fry ready vegetables. Already pre-chopped and ready to go. I get the fresh, but they have frozen too. And with the frozen, there is also a package of frozen stir fry sauce...so you really just throw it all in the pan and heat it through.

WOW. What a job he has. I don't even know what to say about it. How does he de-stress? Because I imagine he needs to do a lot of self-care, balance.

Man, you're both in caretaking jobs. Interesting. Put yourself first, okay, Stacey? :goodvibes

OMG. Wonder Woman. I love her. Idol! Since I was a kid! HEY. That's my new goal. To be able to dress up as her on Halloween.

If I can buy pre-cut and frozen stir fry veggies, then I am in heaven. Love it! Back to the store tomorrow!

Good Evening Everybody!

I haven't caught up yet, so I will be back to post more. I swear my son has PMS. He is so mad at me still ~ it was for his own good. And I know I did the right thing (bus incident).

Freezing down Evansville way and OMG the wind! The school people are even talking about a delay because of the cold. WHAT???

At any rate, I gotta go catch up.

Later Taters ~ Amiee

I had half a turkey sandwich, spinach dip and veggies, and am about to drink a lot. More on that below.

But, ideas.

I buy fajita meat pre-cooked in bags, chicken and steak. You can throw it in a skillet with a sliced onion and bell pepper and (optional) mushrooms, jalapenos and cilantro and voila! fajitas

Make something when you are feeling like cooking that serves for a few days... chili, veggie lasagna.

LOVE the mushroom mozzarella boca burgers. LOVE them.

I buy tilapia individually frozen and just cook from frozen, sprinkle some herbs and salt/pepper and cooking spray.

Stir fry has already been discussed. I sometimes add a cooked Thai kitchen rice noodle bowl (half the water to cook in micro, and reserve the spice packet to add to the stirfry), thai ginger flavor, for 240 calories, to zucchini, onion, green pepper, cilantro, red pepper flakes, a can of bean sprouts, and a few shrimp.

So into fajitas. Do you use corn or flour? I have gotten into corn lately since they are lower calorie. Spray with a bit of parkay spray and nuke for 20 seconds and they are better.

BTW, what is World Showcase???

:lmao:

I have had a really bad day. Got some bad news at work. Please keep me and my company in your thoughts/prayers, that the inaguration next week will make people decide that everything is okay and spend money again?

Tonight, I am tracking, but drinking.
