In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

Not only do we get mice, but we get certain bugs that have been around forever and will likely outlive us all. Oh yeah, you know the ones... they sometimes hiss, have their own line of hotels...

:scared1: Mice I can handle. Roaches? :scared: That's plain nasty.

Let me just say to all newer members...we are not about perfect. We are train wreck a rama. Some of us have lost a lot (yes, me) and still hit the wall of Failure and Stuck in a Moment You Just Can't Get Out Of. (That's what I'm terming this, thanks Bono). We have been stuck, backslid, stayed the same, kept losing, never lost, you name it, we have done it. We are not about perfect days or weeks, not even moments.

We are about showing up. Come as you.

I was heading to the grocery store today and considering leaving the thread. A leave of absence, because I am not working the WW this moment. Now, i did it up until yesterday, but because of one bad day, I was done for the WEEK. How insane is that? Did I mention I"m the Mayor of Crazy Town?

Well, the truth is I have been stuck since September. Up down, up down. And now there is some life stuff making me SAD. I literally felt like this was the worst day of my life, a la the movie Office Space - "Every day s the worst day of my life" Peter complains. And today was just AWFUL. So I was done! Shipping out! Taking the next train to Crazy Town! And then I thought about Lyz.

Lyz has stuck with this thread even when her head hasn't been in the game. And Kat. Kat has been totally on, and totally off, but she's still here. And they are not the only ones, just two examples of good friends I have because they stayed. They come as they are. It's not always pretty, but they're here.

If they hadn't done that, we wouldn't be friends. So show up no matter what. One bad day, one awful week, one horrendous month. We don't care if you are on or off.

And again, this is mostly for me. Because today I would love to throw in the towel, wear sweats until May, and give up. So if the "queen of WW" feels like that, newbies, you've got nothing to live up to! :lmao: You're already ahead!

:grouphug:

So perfect Liz. Thanks for being you...

So, I'm back to normal posting! Trying to catch up!

I will post a trip/race report soon, but here is a pic of me with my Donald bling...
29w6ft1.jpg

Erika,LisaPR:  So sorry that you couldn't make it to the races this weekend. I can tell you that I totally thought of you both when I was in severe discomfort the last 5 miles and wanting to just quit because I felt that bad. So we're in for goofy 2010 right???? I am beginning to think these long distance races are kind of masochistic but I want to do it anyhow!!

:yay: :yay: Look at you, girl! Sporting your Donald medal. Welcome home. We are SO proud of you

LOOKIN' HOT, Amy! So super proud of you!

I just sent you money, so check your e-mail. (And of course, let me know if it is not enough.)

Lisa/PR--I just tried to sign up for the VA Beach Half and it is FULL! :headache: I go so psyched after reading the description, too! It sounds like the PERFECT Half for me. Right time, right course, all of it. So bummed. Now I have to look for a different one.

I am intrigued by the Great Bay Half, since it is close, but it sounds HILLY and it sounds like it is a fast field? What do you think? I like to do races that allow walkers so that I don't feel slow! :rotfl2: Prideful, but there it is.

And I would do the Half at the Hamptons next month (NH), but they don't allow iPods, so that is a deal breaker for me.

So, I will continue my search....

Anyone care to guess what time it is? :confused3

If you guessed "drama time" you are right

Not so much "drama"...as drama CLUB. Yep. Let the party begin. :dance3:

The show: Guys & Dolls :thumbsup2
The cast: 49 kids :rolleyes1
The necessary costumes: current count is 143 :scared1:

The COSTUME maker? :headache: is having panic attacks.

We had a meeting earlier this evening. Yikes. That's all I have to say about that. Guess I'm going to be a wee bit busy in the coming weeks.

Erika-Got the email. That should be plenty..I could probably overnight it to you...

So, I volunteered at the full marathon on Sunday at water stop 11..So fun (more details to come). One woman's shirt caught my attention.

The miracle isn't that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start.

This really hit home for me. It's so, so true. I love it.

It is from John Bingham...guru for new runners.

That's been our motto here for a long time. :goodvibes It really is perfect, isn't it?

I also use it on the first day of class in the Fall Semester to my freshmen. A lot of them are from small towns in Maine...and a lot of their HS classmates didn't go away to college, so I tell them what a big deal it is that they STARTED.

And remember our WISH Racing Team motto...

"Dead Last Finish
beats
Did not Finish
which great trumps
Did not start
Wish gave me the courage to start!"

Liz - omg. Your post is priceless. I'm just starting to get in the game. AFTER a year. (And don't do that again.)

it's going to swimsuit season before we know it ladies! I have to stick to it and be comfortable taking my kids to the pool and the beach.

Yeah, don't remind me.

I am beginning to think these long distance races are kind of masochistic but I want to do it anyhow!!

Cause you are related to the other two Freak(eriKa) and Show(nancy).

Love the bling. Great job. SO wish I could do that. Very proud of you.

You're killin' me here... (said like Pete) :rotfl2:

Please, please, please...can we declare this a banana-free zone? For me?

And WOO to the HOO on the tax stuff! :cheer:

Erika: Re: the WISH team motto...I got SO many comments on my shirt this weekend...People LOVE it!! Hopefully I helped recruit a few more people!

Lyz, just to echo Erika...You CAN do a half marathon. A year ago, I was all freaked out over the minnie 15K. And now I've done that and 2 half's. :goodvibes

Hi all..

I won't gross you out with any more stories about critters at work, I promise.

Melissa - I am not quite trailer trash at the moment. My office is actually in the building. My last job site I was in a trailer though. It was actually better. I had my office in the trailer and now I am at a desk tucked under a set of stairs going out to the roof.

Amy - I am loving the new bling. You look awesome with it.

Liz - please don't leave... this board has helped me keep going when things were really rough and I wanted to throw in the towel. Let us be here to help you.... please.....

We fight this battle every day. No matter if we are on our game or not, we fight. We had the courage to start.

JC results - I lost a whopping .1 pounds. yup 1/10th of a pound... it could be worse - I could have gained right...

Paula
swimming was cancelled tonight... grrr...

I would really love to know about your trip plans. I am blue today and nothing makes me happier than WDW plans.

Here's my Monday song for you, courtesy of Fats Domino.

"Blue Monday, how I hate Blue Monday, got to work like a slave all day".

I think I might do a pre-trip/trip report.

Me too. Cold and dark in the morning. Doesn't really make this sleepy head want to rise and shine

Kinda makes me wish I lived someplace sunny, but then, would I really appreciate the spring as much??

Yep, today is THE day. I just got a phone call from my Dad to say the plumber has just got there! Fingers, toes and all other extremeties crossed!

We have got a tiny little gas fire, but the downstairs of the house is open plan, and the staircase is open so what little heat it gives out is instantly gone! So yes, the bummocks have been frozen off! :rotfl2:

It was so good, I could eat it again! :thumbsup2

Yeah!!!!:cool1: I'm glad I didn't have to beat anybody up for you!

Aimee when is your WDW trip? We leave in less than 2 weeks now.

Oh, I am so jealous! I have to wait until June 14th. We will be celebrating my daughter's birthday.

Guess what...I have heat!!! :woohoo:
It took him about 10 minutes to fix. Less said about that the better I think!

Im very excited! :furious: <---Thats not me being angry, thats me being really warm when I stick my face to the radiators when I get home!

:lmao:

Hi everyone!

Still have to catch up. Will do soon.

I"ve been swamped. Moved to my parents yesterday. They are in Florida for the winter. And I've been back and forth for the last two weeks. And that hasn't worked with lesson plans here and there. Work clothes. Etc.

I'm sad but I'll get over it.

The place is up for sale. I got a nice shock yesterday. Markets are down here after years of up, up, up - not huge differences like some areas in the US. However, downtown is holding just taking longer to sell. I thought our place, despite high floor/facing south/lake view/terrace, would max at about 210 because it's so small. But he said our unit, without a terrace, sold for 250 000 in the late summer. I almost fell over because I live in 440 square feet. So it might be down from that, especially with our federal government issues affecting the economy, but pleasantly surprised. I also might be able to sell a locker, storage cage, separately. Just giving pluses to selling something I don't want to. Also, are you ready for this? He seems to think he can find some one bedroom/plus den - two bedroom downtown in our price range. I'm a little paranoid about the maintenance fees on those. I guess there are some places that never come on the MLS. Insider selling. I don't know. I was psyched. Who knows. Jean has been taken away by the idea of space. So time will tell.

And our cats, I'm so smiling I'm a dog girl and have cats :lmao: , are here so they don't have to deal with showings and an open house. And Nevillle won't stand for any smell cleaning substance. Not for one minute. I so love cats :lmao: - they want life exactly they way they want it. And won't settle for less! :lmao: Much to learn.

Okay will take some time to catch up,

Lisa

Welcome back LisaV. for your situation.

HI all !

I am new here. My name is Jena and I am inspired by your group here.

4.) Need from us: support, encouragement, tips, and friendship

5.) Famous Person: Meg Ryan - with bigger ****s!

Today is my first weigh-in at Weight Watchers (my 2nd week!) so we will see if I lost any weight as of today. I am a little nervous but I think I did pretty good this week.

Anyway - thanks for the inspiration. I look forward to "losing It" with you all.

Jena

Welcome Jena! Glad you are with us!

Hey Ladies!!

Someone has to give me a lesson in multi-quoting! I have caught up from not reading yesterday - my mistake for missing a day! It won't happen again!

I have to work up a system to be able to type here what goes through my mind when I read your posts! There is some very enlightening information - not to mention some very funny stuff!! :rotfl:

Thanks to those of you who responded to my post about having the "perfect day" (food wise). After reading about all of the success you guys have had - and to know that you have "off" days - and sometimes have gains - and feel that you don't do perfectly all the time either - well, that helps ALOT! Thanks!

I have to remember that I have had some success over the last year in losing the 30 pounds I did - and I know I screwed up a lot! So... hopefully my mental block is getting smaller by the day!

I will say that I started on WW today. I have all of the stuff (actually from each year - and "new" program!). So, I figured that would be a great way to start my NEW day! I have a little Post-it on my desk that says "What are you waiting for?!" It has been to ward off my procrastination - today, I couldn't think of anything that would get in the way of me feeling better about myself and getting to where I want to be!

I watched Extreme Home Makeover last night - I always get emotional - last night was no different... Although what I took away was this saying...

Wish It, Believe It, Make It happen! (or something along those lines!) My new Mantra!

Your little group here is an amazing oasis for those of us looking to belong! To be able to sit at the popular table!

I hope each of you have an amazing day! I'm sending each and everyone a  - use it as you see fit!!

:hippie:

Don't beat yourself up over a few slip ups. It makes us human.

Hi Everybody! I am missing a ton of quotes. Not trying to be rude, I promise! :(

I'm absolutely furious right now. My son is 9, almost 10 and a little chubby. I just had to use the bathroom while he was taking a bath and I saw a bruise on his chest. He told me he was pinched on the bus on Friday. OMG ~ rage! It sounds like it was 3 boys and he told me that he told the bus driver. Needless to say, I am going to control my emotions as much as possible and talk with the school tomorrow. I won't let my kids go through the torment that I went through as a kid. It was torture for several years. I was very very low. It makes me sick that kids are so d$%@ mean.

So Amy's quote made me think that maybe I should share some of the ones I find most inspirational....

For our newbies and those just starting this journey:

--It's a dream until you write it down, and then its a goal.

These two are for me:

--Those who do not find time for exercise will have to find time for illness.

--There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.

Paula, this one comes to mind for you as you being your training program:

--The pain of discipline is far less than the pain of regret

Liz, I have used this one for years...when I was really feeling adrift, which strikes me how you may be feeling now. And of course, it is from a nobel prize winner in literature. Because who else would have the right words for you?

--One cannot discover new oceans unless he/she has the courage to lose sight of the shore.

And Lyz...for where you will be over the next couple of weeks:

--The best way out is always through.

And for you in general:

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.

And this one is how I think of this thread. It is Mark Twain--

--Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.

Erika -

Those quotes are awesome!!!

Thanks for sharing.

Paula

Sorry, one last one...given Liz's recent post:

--Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising every time we fall.

WORD.

Cause you are related to the other two Freak(eriKa) and Show(nancy).

 I'll take that as I compliment. I think :rotfl2:

Nancy! I'm exhausted just thinking of it.

Me too. :sad2: We have a few other offers for assistance. Hopefully they'll work out...<crossing fingers here>

I had my office in the trailer and now I am at a desk tucked under a set of stairs going out to the roof.

:headache: Under the stairs? Who are you, Harry Potter? :confused3 What's your bosses phone number. I want to call him and tell him you need a better office :upsidedow

JC results - I lost a whopping .1 pounds. yup 1/10th of a pound... it could be worse - I could have gained right...

That's right! And...you lost all thru the holidays. Probably just *due* for a slow week. :goodvibes OH...plus you are adding muscle mass with all your strenght training....so that may have an impact as well.

Nancy - Thanks for the words of encouragement... I am not stressing too much. I think I am retaining some water from the McDonalds yesterday.

Oh and its Harriet Potter... sad, but true - I do my job from under a staircase...

Just listened to the song "Bad Day"...'cause my day....has just beaten me down.

Started out great. Most of my day was great.

But then...the clutch seems to have "blown" in the Honda....the car my son drives. So..down a car - not a huge problem - just inconvenient. And $$$.

Then...my niece is flying in from California. We're supposed to be picking her up at the airport...plane is an hour late, so she's not landing until after 11:00...ok....I'm tired, it's past my bed time...but whatever. Can't control that.

Now? Yeah. I just hit the jackpot. 2. Yep 2 black pens were in my sons pants. Went thru the laundry. Washer, dryer....ink everywhere. On everything. I have one of those *large* front-loaders...so my loads of laundry are huge.

I'm so ticked....

On the up-side....

27 points. GOOD points. No alcohol....no soda either :thumbsup2

Exercise...30 minutes on the bike & 45 minutes upper body strength work. For a total of 555/1500.
