In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

Gracious. It was a slow day here. That's not normal.

Lyz, I sent a txt with the mug picture. I don't have the cord for my phone today or I would post it here. Maybe when I get home.

Got it. Gracias.

Okay, I just got back from kickboxing. This is the first time since I started going that I was able to do EVERYTHING that she asked us to do. Including 40 pushups (5 with no knees!), and 4 sets (of 8) each of front and side double time kicks, and walking lunges with 5 lb weights in each hand... maybe I will get back in shape yet!! :yay:

As for you, my dear, post what you are comfortable. There is no pressure here to be on all the time, but please know that we want to be there to support you when you need it some extra help, celebrate with you when you are rockin your program and b!tch with you when you have had enough and need to b!tch about things. So use us when you need to and don't be afraid to use us even if you think you don't. I can't tell you how much the support of this board has contributed to getting me through my year of funk to where I am now. Love you girl...

Paula

Did you really read it carefully? If not, go back and read it again...

 Thank you. I do know all this. But it's good to read too.

Lyz--what Paula said. I just love it when you post period. I don't care about what. And if you don't want to post your food and exercise, then don't.

A trial. If it works, then whoo hoo.

Paula--YES to spending money on Jesse! Word. And sibs can be great that way. My brother got me a Coach wallet for Christmas. And he did it all by himself without even taking a female friend with him to help pick it out. And yes, this is the single one who lives in NY and gets free Disney passes. Just sayin.

Ohh, love me some Coach. Great taste brother bear.

We just got some hopefully good news at work. Still too new to tell, and not allowed to talk about it, but at least things might be looking up here. Keep your fingers crossed!!

This is illegal. Drop and Dash. No go sista.

and i'm down 4.5 lbs from friday!

That's Awesome!

Uck, on the negative, i had to schedule Oral Surgery, my wisdom teeth are a bit late to the party, they never bothered me, and for years, never moved, my dentist thought they'd be fine and just stay put.... no more, they are on the move again, and i have to get them ripped out of my head, none of them have broken through yet, so they have to go digging, i've never been put under full sedation before, so i'm admittedly very nervous :scared1:

Stacey. My mom is a surgical assistant for oral surgeries. I had mine out at 13? It was a pia for a day. Yeah, you'll probably tell all your secrets once drugged :rotfl:

Job interview was fantastic. So much better than I thought. It pays more than I thought, and they were interviewing me for a position in a lab where I would be all kinds of wicked cool tests, like chromosomal stuff, genetic testing, DNA stuff. OMG. So cool to a lab rat like me. They seemed like they might be flexible about hours, so I might be able to work evenings. They have an onsite daycare if I ended up working a day shift, that is highly rated and is very reasonably priced. I told them I would consider any shift, but an evening one would be preferable. And they will be moving to a brand new lab over the summer. They are interviewing some internal candidates, so that may be some competition, since they already work there. It will be at least a week before I hear something.

Wow. And here I was treating this as a practice interview. And it might be a great job! Crossing my fingers.

Roddy - thanks for the information.

Well, I wanted to stick around and say hi to everybody, but I am getting my car worked on. :cool1:

I was going to make a snide comment, but Lyz beat me to it. Hope the "having the car worked on" goes well. ;)

Stacey - sorry to hear about the wisdom teeth. I had mine out in high school, was completely sedated and the recovery went fine. It was a PIA for about a day or two and I looked like a chipmunk for a few days. It wasn't pleasant, but it wasn't horrible either.

Amy - sounds like the interview went well. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Roddy - thanks for sharing more of your story with us. It is another approach to this challenge we are all facing. Thanks for reminding me of the need to eat more fresh veggies every day.

It is quiet around here. We must all be tired or otherwise preoccupied. I had my workout with Jesse and yes, he totally kicked my butt. The only issue I had was that his sales manager was talking to him before my session and he was totally distracted for most of my session. I may need to find a way to mention something to him about this since I am seeing a little bit of a pattern develop, but I am not sure if I am overreacting or not. You know me, I love my Jesse sessions, but I also don't want things to get too comfortable and my sessions to start slacking. I am going to give it another few sessions and see what happens I think.

OK - I am wiped out. I am off to veg for a few and then head to bed.

Catch you all on the flip side.
Paula

Roddy- Thanks for filling us in! :upsidedow

Paula - I know what you mean about not wanting a "distracted trainer". You are paying good money to get your bummocks whooped

Here's my day:

Food: 28 points + I just now ate a few choc chips :headache: Not a lot, just a couple. but still.

Alcohol: STILL none. Wine crossed my mind today. But I didn't let the thought linger!

Exercise: training session + 30 minutes on the elliptical, for a total of 90 minutes. 570/2100

Oh and Kat. I was telling my family about the Krispie Kreme run. Nate (my runner & the #1 donut lover in the house) was all over it. Totally his thing. :crazy2:

Been a long day for me. Have a good night all!

Haha! Email me. Just can't put it out there, you know?

I think that it is totally reasonable for you to want him to pay attn to you. I mean, you are paying him to do so!!

Stacey, sorry about the wisdom teeth. I had all 8 (yes, I had 8) of them out when I was 19. I took the general anesthesia as they were all impacted and had to be cut out. All I remember is some nausea that evening, which was from being knocked out, and bags of frozen peas on my face and having to have gauze stuffed in my mouth.

Amiee, hope that your car got worked on but good! ;)

Nancy, I am with you on the Krispy Kreme run. ICK! I would totally wind up puking by the end.

Checking in for today:
1) Calories, 1100, 15g carb. No junk. Check
2) Exercise, 45 min kickboxing class. Check
3) Water, 96 oz. Check
4) No alcohol. Check

"Getting my car worked on." Is that what we are calling it these days?? :rotfl2: :lmao:

I knew that all of you would know who I was talking about, if I said it that way. :rotfl: He's still sick, but well enough to want to spend some time together.

I am so far behind, but I have to dash of to bed. Agh, 6:30 will be here too soon. Chat with y'all tomorrow morning.

You will do great at WW. Good job on tracking and drinking the water. GREAT job on not killing any in-laws.

Good Luck at your meeting!:cheer2:

Morning all.

It's Wednesday. whoo-hoo. Oh wait, nothing exciting there.

We are supposed to have damaging winds today. 60 - 70 mph. Wonder what that holds for me.

Off to dm.

One more thing. Liz - have you read Confessions of a Shopaholic? I reads much like your writing style. (if you hate it, then my apologies.) The reader spends much time in her head rationalizing things, and that is so you.

Good Morning! A quick drive by (gotta get both kiddos going and boy are they cranky).

Believe it or not, tracking is not a chore for me. It's been really easy and tells me exactly what I need to do better.

There was lots of drama at work yesterday and looks like more will happen as the week progresses. Fortunately, my department is drama free. I'll talk about that a little later.

Enjoyed the little time that I spent with the mechanic yesterday.

Before I go, I was thinking:

Gee, what would happen if Bruce was out and about and needed a spot? Would somebody give up her spot for The Boss??? Would it make her decade?:worship:

Glad you two got to spend some time together. The fact that he wanted to spend time with you while sick is a very good sign.

Have fun you two...

I am loving the fact that you through in that you didn't kill any in-laws. Some days that is the biggest victory of all.

Good luck at WW and I agree - it should be fine.

I am dragging today. Jesse worked me hard yesterday and I am feeling it today. Good thing it is my rest day (see - Nancy, I do take those).

Back to filing hades for me. It should be done soon (I hope).

talk to you all later,
Paula

I am officially on the couch with my leg elevated and on ice until further notice. I am NOT happy.

Better to take the time now than have it get worse and be out of order for even longer...

Good Morning all!
Hope everyone is doing well. Another day here, nothing major. I found out yesterday my hotel in San Diego has a mini (and I mean mini) workout room with a bicycle, elliptical, and treadmill so I can grab a short workout when we are there. Hopefully it will counteract some of the bad eating that will likely be done there. My plan is to eat meals I want and snack as little as possible which shouldn't be to terrible. Its nice to have a game plan ahead of time. I already have breakfast reservations and judging by the menu can somewhat track what I am going to eat. I also am looking for a place to get dinner on Saturday night. I am determined to get to my 180s by next weekend which is possible because I was 190.8 this morning. Just have to keep on track and what not. This weekend I am actually not cheating. Everything including snacks has been planned. :woohoo: If the rain doesn't start early on Saturday we are planning to go for a short hike (less than 2 miles as opposed to the 3 mile hikes we usually do). I am going to do Biggest Loser: Cardio Max today when I get home. Hope everyone has a fabulous day!

Nancy, I am with you on the Krispy Kreme run. ICK! I would totally wind up puking by the end.

I'm not sure I could even EAT a dozen donuts :crazy2: And I know that I could never run 2 more miles and expect to keep them in :scared:

And the beer run? OMG. I'd be zig zagging all along the course. I'd run off the road, I'm sure

"Getting my car worked on." Is that what we are calling it these days?? :rotfl2: :lmao:

Has he mentioned any need to "check under the hood"? :lmao:

I'm sure you'll be GREAT! :thumbsup2

Thank goodness you haven't killed anyone lately. :rolleyes1 Although, come to think of it....a good throw-down *might* be considered exercise? :rotfl2:

Morning all.

It's Wednesday. whoo-hoo. Oh wait, nothing exciting there.

:lmao: That was great. I'm here thinkin' you got something great planned for today. Nope. Just a Wednesday!

We are supposed to have damaging winds today. 60 - 70 mph. Wonder
what that holds for me.

Ugh. Be careful! Don't need you blowing away like something out of Wizard of Oz! :clown:

I am dragging today. Jesse worked me hard yesterday and I am feeling it today. Good thing it is my rest day (see - Nancy, I do take those).

And they are well deserved too! You've been bustin' your butt bigtime! :cheer2:

I am officially on the couch with my leg elevated and on ice until further notice. I am NOT happy.

 I really am sorry. I pulled a hamstring on Christmas Eve about 7 or 8 years ago. I remember sitting in church with tears welling up in my eyes from the pain. It was simply awful.

That is such an important muscle to practically every movement your body makes. It's always "engaging" which makes it that much more difficult to try and rest it so that it can fully and properly heal. I know how hard it is for you to be couch-bound. Please take care of it.

STEPH - OMG Mocha is so adorable, looks just like lucy did before she started getting her highlights!
What Color highlights does she have?? She didn't have any when she was a pup????

Hey Girls and Guy!!

AMY that is great! Lab sounds cool we have talked about getting into DNA testing and all that stuff because The hospital well lab is looking into making more $$$. Keep us updated!

I knew that all of you would know who I was talking about, if I said it that way. :rotfl: He's still sick, but well enough to want to spend some time together.

UMMM what time did you have your car worked on?:confused3 Just saying you posted this at 1130?? :rotfl2:

I am officially on the couch with my leg elevated and on ice until further notice. I am NOT happy.
Are you tied down? I know that they have to have you tied or glued down because you don't sit still. Well I hope you get better soon my friend! You need to rest it!

Well I finally got the last of the christmas stuff put away! now just have to put all the NORMAL stuff back to wear it belongs!
OK off to eat lunch and get ready for work

Tracking is easy for me as well, when I am on. I like knowing where I am for the day, so I usually enter everything in after lunch and then after dinner. Sparkpeople makes it easy, esp since I have been using it for a while and have imported any of my regular foods that aren't in their db.

I am officially on the couch with my leg elevated and on ice until further notice. I am NOT happy.

Have you seen the doc? Is this enforced bed rest?

I'm not sure I could even EAT a dozen donuts :crazy2: And I know that I could never run 2 more miles and expect to keep them in :scared:

And the beer run? OMG. I'd be zig zagging all along the course. I'd run off the road, I'm sure

I don't think I could eat TWO donuts let alone a dozen. Donuts for some reason (on or off wagon) just sit like lumps in my stomach, give me a sugar aftertaste, and overall make me feel kinda icky.

:rotfl: at the running under the influence!!

I need to get my skates sharpened and want to at least log 30 min or so on them before the game Fri night. This is proving to be a difficult logistical thing as none of the rinks have weeknight skates, and I have a haircut appt at noon tomorrow. I may wind up doing an 8:15 open hockey practice tomorrow morning, which means leaving the house at 7:30AM... :scared:
