In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

SOOO cold here!! I know it's not cold for you northern types, but it was 22 when I was pumping gas this morning. I don't have two gloves that match and I think I used to have a hat somewhere...

I HATE pumping gas in the cold. When a warm day hits and the sun is shining, I fill er up right quick!

Kat - you can get a set of gloves for like 2.50, espically since everything is on clearance. I'm going to have to send you some gloves and toilet paper.

I know, Nancy...she scared the crap out of me as well!

hahahahahaha - that was fun. I am SO not pregnant and will never be, ever again. Even my next husband, nope.

I get my hair cut at a hairdressing school in the city. Aveda Institute. Aveda is international, right?

Anyway, it's great. There are two levels - the academy and the institure (which is the beginners). Today I was upstairs with the beginners. $18 buckaroos!!!!!

And I find the whole process, teacher guiding them, so flippin' fascinating. So it's like I'm entertained as well.

Brave you are. Aveda sells products here. No "institutes" in my town, course I live in podunk.

Allison is doing well. She wants her staples O.U.T. Other than that, business as usual. Thanks for asking.

Erika -

He has two shows - The Last 10 pounds Bootcamp and Bulging Brides. He's a former CFL player (football).

TLTPB is a half hour show. A client comes on to get the last ten off. Obviously, eh? :lmao: Anyway, there are two of them. Tommy and Nadine. Tom trains. Nadine is a nutritionist. Nadine cleans the client's cupboards (obviously I sigh:lmao: ) and Tommy tailors a routine to their problems areas. Really pushes them. A lot of running up hills outside - the glorious Stanley Park (right in friggin' downtown Vancouver - oh I love Vancouver!!!) and some kayaking - ocean right downtown. :beach: A lot of full body resistance moves.

And they are "secretly" (whatever!!) filmed and if they go off program he whips them into shape.

They try on a target outfit at the beginning. He goes usually two sizes down and they moan. They have a half way weigh in to rework things. And it lasts four weeks. Practically all make the last ten pounds.

Bulging Brides is the same premise with their wedding dress, fitting better, is the target outfit.

Both are a half an hour.

We also have an hour long show with a guy (trainer) that is so aloof, and full of himself, but somehow that works cause he can push. He says anything. It's six month loss. He does an obstacle course at the beginning and end. You would adore these courses/fitness tests. Your kind of competitive thing. (I'm competitive too) It's timed. It's called X Weighted. It goes into some of the psychological blocks. Same kind of premise as TLTPB.

I went to the Toni and Guy academy here once and the chick didn't even wash my hair and only cut like 1/2 an inch when I wanted like 2 cut off... lol... needless to say I wasn't happy... lol...

Well, that sucks. I am loving my hair. And never had been so happy since I've been gong there. It's damaged. Not because of them. :lmao: And I don't go enough. Anyway, I have never been disappointed. Once, it was a tad off on one side. But I don't have straight hair, it's wavy, so it's nothing. The teacher checks all work. And ccmes in and cuts sometimes at various stages.

Honestly, what I love about it is they actually listen to you. :lmao:

If my flippin' camera was working I'd show you a pic of the results.

I am trying to grow mine out right now and its at the awful in between stage! its too short to be long and too long to be short! Argh!

Ummmm okay start the laughing, sighing and mouths open in shock cause I've never pumped gas. No, I'm not Kate Gosselin. I know, it's pathetic - you all don't have to say it.

I don't drive. It's a long dramatic story and I've always got around by transit. And I mean everywhere out of town - everything. It's not a case of dependent girl.

You know what - I will pump gas this week because this is pathetic. My goal - pump gas. :lmao: :rotfl:

hahahahahaha - that was fun. I am SO not pregnant and will never be, ever again. Even my next husband, nope.

OMG!!!!:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: . Should I even be laughing? :rotfl:

:grouphug: Wishes for some good news Lyz.

I'm not brave. It's only hair. It grows. I've cut my own many a time. And I mean cut not trim.

:wave2:

Welcome Heather :wave2:

Im curious too! Stalk me anytime! :rotfl2:

Im all bummocks. I tell DH its because I need padding when I fall down!

:grouphug:

Yay! Im excited for you!

Amy - Glad the little one is feeling better

Everyone :wave2:

Its just taken me 3 hours to get home from work - normally a 30-40 minute journey in rush hour traffic :crazy2:
They sent us home from work at 1pm because of the snow and the public transport was starting to be cancelled. Nightmare!

No falls though - score! :rotfl2:

Everything went fairly well at MILs last night, she was on her best behaviour!

Hope everyone is having a good day :upsidedow

Oh I'll be stalking. I'll be stalking. Maybe a group stalk. Ladies?

Glad to hear MIL is shutting it. Yeah!

I am trying to grow mine out right now and its at the awful in between stage! its too short to be long and too long to be short! Argh!

You know how they say keep going in and getting it trimmed. Don't. Really. I swear - I haven't been in in eons because of funds. And now I was like well what a positve of not having money because suddenly it was there there. If I had the money it would not where it is because I would get so impatient.

Cause as soon as you can get it up you're home free until it's a length you want to shape a certain way.

Amy - glad you are both feeling better. You're good too, right?

Anwyay I believe this is Little D picture day!!!!! Pretty please.

Tomorrow is Jean's birthday and a friend of mine today. Jean will be, oh gosh, 47!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Forty flippin' seven - I can't believe it!!! So strange.

All this hairdresser talk reminds me that I need to get mine cut pretty soon. :rotfl:

Today in Baltimore it is 12 degrees, but sunny. I guess that's an improvement over the snow and ice...not really sure. :scratchin

Still keeping to my program this week and feeling good. I'm hoping to someday do the Jillian Michaels shred without feeling like my arms are gonna fall off from the weights. Holy cow is that hard!

Have a great day, everybody! Keep workin' it --- Friday's almost here. :cheer2:

You know what Paula. I have more to say besides my silly cheer.

Paula, you are rockin' life!!! Absolutely, rockin' life. You should be so proud of yourself.

You are an inspiration to me.

Hi Lisa! :wave2:

You know whenever I think of Baltimore. - I've only been through on Amtrak on my way to DC - I think of Wedding Crashers.:lmao: :rotfl:

Which so makes me smile - MA!!! What she doing? I never know what she's doing. :rotfl2:

And that scene in the kitchen where Vince Vaughan talks about the night of gay art porn and the taste of socks. Oh man. Plus, I adore Rachel MacAdams.

Exactly... I just want to be able to put it up... lol...

I'm so posting and posting cause I'm sad. I'm off today and getting on the bus to go to my parents to hide from the ongoing showings. And to love up my poor cats. I can't believe I said love up cats. :lmao: I used to detest cats. I"m a dog girl. They are such teachers - cats.

No offers as yet. It's a special suite. The terrace adds about 25 000. So it has to be someone who adores outdoor space a la me. Plus, we have a crane right outside - and another buidling about to sell across the street.

I have so adored being back home. So much. My suite is full of light. Even on overcast days. It's shallow with floor to ceiling windows.

Exactly... I just want to be able to put it up... lol...

Does it grow quickly? Mine doesn't at all. My sister and niece's hair grows like weeds.

But a positive of mine is colour. Roots come very very slowly. :lmao:

Oh got to go. I so don't want to. :sad2:

It grows pretty quickly... in December I cut it pretty short and now I can kinda clip it up...

PAULA PAULA SHE"S OUR MAN (uummm WOMAN:lmao: ) - LET'S GIVE HER A GREAT BIG HAND!!!

No not a cheerleader. :rotfl2: Lived on a baseball (softball) diamond.

Yeah Paula. No matter how things work out - I'm impressed. Have a fantastic time. Happy for you.

You know what Paula. I have more to say besides my silly cheer.

Paula, you are rockin' life!!! Absolutely, rockin' life. You should be so proud of yourself.

Lisa - Thanks... you made be blush...
Things are definitely clicking right now. Can't explain it, but they are. As excited as I am, it totally is freaking me out all at the same time. I find it strange that someone finds me attractive. I find it strange that I am loving going to the gym. I find it strange that I am liking the changes in my body instead of hating them. I find it strange that for once in my life, I am not solely focused on work and my career. These are all such new elements in my life that it is just plain strange. I am so far outside of my comfort zone that I might as well be on Mars right now. But at the same time, as strange as it feels, it is a good strange - if that makes any sense. Of course, I am still waiting for the other shoe named rejection, defeat, etc. to drop, but I am not looking over my shoulder nearly as often as I used to.

Erika - Shh.. don't tell Donna. She doesn't even know about this guy yet.... (dating is one topic that we really don't talk a lot about - strange I know) So, yes - you all will be the first to know how things go.

I am reading on how everyone else is doing, but need to run to a meeting. I'll catch up with everyone later. In the meantime - thanks for the wardrobe advice. Need to pick something out that is cute and comfy and screams me. I do get to wear girlie shoes so I am psyched about that. Can we say dress boots? It is too early in the day for the infamous giraffe print shoes... pity. They totally rock.

Talk to you all later,
Paula

hehe!! Giraffe print shoes??? I wanna see a pic of these!!!

Hey everyone!

LisaV-Yes, I am feeling much better.:goodvibes I think we all had some kind of virus.

So, I just finished up on the TM. I set out to do 30 minutes of the C25K intervals (instead of the standard 20 for Week 2) and ended up doing 40 minutes, so 2 sets of intervals. I am hoping that the challenge czar will agree that this can count for 2 C-25K's and I will be done with that for this week. And then at 40 minutes I was at 3.5 miles and that was a really annoying number, so I topped it off at 4 miles, 46 minutes!

I think that's all for now..I must go shower!

I have gotten my hair cut at an Aveda Institute as well. They have one in Chapel Hill. I got it on a $15 day and the cut wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either.

I only need gloves like twice a year, here. And I have two... just that both are the same hand.

I also either have to do stretchy gloves, or leather gloves in actual sizes. L gloves are too small for big man hands like mine.

Glad Allison is feeling better.

Does it grow quickly? Mine doesn't at all. My sister and niece's hair grows like weeds.

But a positive of mine is colour. Roots come very very slowly. :lmao:

Mine grows like weeds. As I am very, very gray, this is NOT a good thing.

Paula, so excited for you. Sometimes change is wonderful.

I went to kickboxing-step at the gym today at lunch. Kicked my behind but good.
