In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

That would be WOLVES. The wolves come out when there are a lot of vamps around. Sheesh. :lmao:

Check in time for me!

Food: 28 points (on target)
Alcohol: none
Exercise: all cardio - 60 minutes. total 255/2100

I have my 7:00am appt tomorrow. Haven't heard from the trainer telling me she's sick still, so, assuming we're "on" for the morning! :thumbsup2

Who am I supposed to be keeping tabs on these days? I don't even know anymore :confused3 Some accountability officer I've turned into.

AMY - how's the C25K coming?

KAT - am I supposed to be asking you anything? :confused3

Um, Nancy - We've been meaning to talk to you about that. Just sayin...

LisaV - this one is for you...

The phone call went well. We are meeting on Saturday morning for coffee (well, tea for me). Now I have two days to stress about what to wear... Where's Liz?

Paula

WAIT...WHAT?!?!!? There is a DATE?! On SATURDAY? OMG, details! Like, now.

Hey guys - did you know of the cell phone nutrition buddy? It is a number you call and enter the Restraunt you are at and the type of food you are curious about. It will text you back calorie and nutritional info of that food or location.

Why was I not aware of that at KFC yesterday?

Here is a link for some more clarifying info!

Nancy-Thanks for asking about C25K! I am a little off schedule this week because Little D and I have been a little under the weather, but I did it yesterday and added 3 extra minutes of running, and plan to do it again tomorrow and hope to do a full 30 minutes of intervals instead of the 20 it calls for right now.

Paula--A coffee date! Awesome!!!

Kat-Thanks for the dip recipe.

Little D is SO feeling better. I judge this by how many toys she took out today. Monday and Tuesday hardly anything. just things that she could sit with me and do, like magnadoodle and aquadoodle, books. Today, she had everything out, and it was all over the place. She likes to dump and run. Dump all the puzzles on the floor. Dump the container of play food. She did not nap at all today and crashed early.

I do miss being this type of honest about my food choices and reasoning. I think do or die...lurkers or not...that cohesive existence i need with food can only come after my admitting to success and failure and the acceptance to move on.

It tookme 17 years to get enough courage to move out of that scenario. You are stronger than I was and getting that inner peace and deserving acceptance is still a work in progress. Dan is my saving grace cause when I push because I am scared of having something and then losing it versus at least not having it and not enduring the hurt...he holds me even tighter.

I so relate to this.

Morning!

So, that hip pain that I mentioned a while back. At first LisaPR and I were thinking piriformis. Then I was pretty sure it was IT band. Nope, not that either. It is actually my hamstring. I did a very light ham workout yesterday (as I have been going easy on legs for a while trying to baby this injury) and this morning, BAM! Clear as day. Strained hammy. Not good timing. Not sure how much to rest it.

Ok, forgot all of the other comments I was going to make. Guess I'll have to go back and multi-quote.

Ack! Hope it heals quickly and painlessly.

Finding that inner love is so important -- you're right, you deserve the best! :flower3:

Ouch! Take care of yourself - pulled hamstrings are nasty.

Well, woke up today to a couple more inches of snow. For some reason, the county schools decided to tough it out, though, and the kids headed out, not even a delay. Guess they are making up from last week.

Had a good workout with my class last night, and DH and I did well on the evening snacking, so I'm feeling good again today. To me, waking up feeling rested and strong is a definite payoff to the healthy eating/exercise plan!

Have a great day!!

Thank you!

Finally caught up, and now I'm exhausted. :rotfl2: So much I wanted to respond to, it woulda been ridiculous. So, just a few for now.

Dawn. Where to start. So much I want to say right now.

The fact that you are tracking is HUGE. Putting it all down there - the good, the bad, just everything. It is indeed enlightening. And I will admit, that my first instinct was to look at your food and tell you all the things that I thought you should change. :mic: But I can't. Because while my diet is typically "crap free" it wasn't always that way. When I lost my first 45 lbs, I did it with WW. And yes. I ate lots of fruit and salads, zero point veggies, etc. But I did that so that I could eat cookies. And ice cream. And chocolate. My food intake was so far from perfect. But, at the end of the day as long as my calories IN were less than my calories OUT, I was good.

The *healthy* eating lifestyle came to me later. It was more about how I "felt", if that makes sense. I simply feel so much better when I am "eating clean". More energy, none of the highs & lows during the day, more positive outlook all around. :goodvibes So. If you want suggestions, I'm happy to give them. Otherwise, I promise not to critique your food choices.

I also hate wasting food. I can totally relate to that aspect. Groceries cost SO much and I just don't have the extra $$ to be tossing stuff out mindlessly. However, just because I don't want to WASTE it, doesn't mean I want to WAIST it either, kwim? ;) It's hard, I know. But that will come to.

Be proud of the steps you have taken thus far. It does take time. And a lot of patience. That weight didn't magically appear overnight. And it won't magically disappear overnight either. Truly, slow and steady does win in this case. Lifestyle changes that you can legitimately live with will get you where you want to go.

Frozen veggies can actually have more nutritional value than their fresh counterparts. If your produce has to travel for days across the country in trucks before it gets to your store, it may not be quite at it's peak anymore. Frozen veggies are often processed so quickly that all the "good stuff" is retained.

Love frozen veggies, can't stand mushy ones!

The trick is learning to cook them so that you don't end up with a bowl full of mush! That's what gives veggies a bad rep!

No, this was the only time she was sick. One day last week, my partner couldn't make it - she got "iced in". Maybe that's what you were thinking? :confused3

Yep, that's it!

:rotfl2: As long as you don't start shouting rude comments at your trainer, I think GI Jane is a GREAT channel!

Valid question. And thanks for the concern. Yes. I'm aware that "overtraining" can be a bad thing. (been there, done that :rolleyes1 )And yes, I have had a few longer sessions lately - and 2 in a row (Mon/Tues) which is definitely a lot of exercise. But those are the exception for me, not the norm. And I do include my warm up and cool down/stretching time in my exercise, so it's not typically "all out" for 90 minutes. Since I'm not actively training for an endurance evet, if this becomes a real habit for me, feel free to ask me about it again, 'K?

And callipers? Not sure. Hopefully I'll find out tomorrow. :scared:

Awesome words Nancy!

Just because you bought it, doesn't mean you have to read it. I am living proof of that. :rotfl2: I've had that book here for months and so far, it's just been collecting dust

Oy. That sucks. Not fun. :sad2: Be careful and don't push it - it's so not worth it.

Hi everyone,

Feeling like crap today thanks to my head cold, but wanted to chime in on a few things.

Erika - take care of that hamstring. it sounds painful.

Dawn - again so proud of the progress you are making. Little steps lead to real change. I have done some of the drive through runs that you spoke about - definitely not my best moments so I know where you were. Keep trudging. Use the veggies as filler foods. My sister still laughs when she thinks back to the vertical mound of salad that would be on my plate when I first started JC. The mound got smaller and smaller as my stomach adjusted to needed less food. In the meantime, eat the veggies (frozen ones are what I used a lot since they were cheap and easily prepared). Play around with different vinegars or citrus juices and spices to give them different flavor accents with little calories added.

Nancy - no obscenities screamed at Jessie yet, but I was giving him a hard time last night. He was lounging on one of the machines while I was doing my lunges and such. I kept giving him cr@p about his sitting on his bummocks during my entire workout. That of course energized him and led to a harder workout for me. Not sure, but I think it was a win-win situation.

Kelly - I feel your pain on the KFC incident. There have been times like that in my life too, but I haven't told anyone about them.

Liz - thanks for the suggestion on the bread. I will keep that in mind for when I start eating real food again (which should be soon).

I need to run to another meeting. I have more that I want to say, but it is going to have to wait. I will leave you with this:

I am starting my first real conversation with one of the guys I have been chattring with online tonight. I'll let you know how it goes. (and Amiee, you can start busting on me with the comments...)

Paula

Hope you feel better soon Paula!

I am hear because I want to lose 15 lbs by SUMMER!!

Somebody HELP ME!!!

Hi Heather! Welcome!

Well here I am again... Seems like I am bad about being a regular here... LOL... Where to start... Well from the time I went to Disneyland in Oct/November until January 1st I gained about 20 lbs!!! I couldn't believe it but I know I ate well... lol... Holidays were tough... It was my first holiday without my dad, work is still stressing me out and my mom put her dog down... The last was the real kicker... We got Max when I was in 8th grade and he helped my mom through the past 6 months... She put him down the week of Xmas because he had a torn rectal wall and the surgery was going to cost 4000 bucks and wasn't guaranteed to fix everything. He was 11 and a very good dog. By the way did anyone I sent Xmas cards to get them?

Now to the present... I'm mostly back on track... started working out this week... gained half a lb this morning and flipped :scared: .... I hate working out hard and eating well then gaining... I've since calmed myself...

DH and I decided that in May we are doing a 5k for the Zoo here! We are going to start getting ready on the 16th which is when he goes back to DAYS!!!! Thats right in less than 2 weeks I will no longer have the stupid hellish sleep schedule... :cheer2: We also have gone hiking the past 2 weekends (won't this weekend because of weather) and plan to continue to hike every weekend. I will put pics up if anyone wants to see.

I decided after talking to Kat that I should also have some monthly goals... They are as follows:

1. Work out at least 3 days a week.
2. Hike at least once a week (weather and husband permitting)
3. Not beat myself up for falling off the wagon and not let it derail the rest of my week.
4. Drink at least 10 cups of water a day.
5. Cheat only once a week... not the whole weekend.

I think that should be about all for now... I am kind of at a loss as to what else to tell ya...

Hi Sarah!

Hi Sarah!!!!! Lovely to see you. Missed you.

Hi Heather. A big welcome to you.

Well Twilight. Just realized I left it in Uxbridge. Forgot to put it in my bag to come down home here. So the weekend.

I tried on jeans today. And this pair didn't fit well. Fit but didn't like the fit. And guess what - tried on the lower size and they fit. It was a 12!!!! Now that's a plus store 12. So that means I am completely in 14s in regular. :cheer2: So shocked.

Vain moment here, ready -

But I am losing my A$$. And I am not a happy camper!!!:rotfl2: I have always had a good a$$ and you know I must have if Ms. humble can say that. I'm royally pissed.:lmao: :rotfl:

And youngins - lose the weight now!!!!! Really. It's not just my age - I have thin skin and it's not bouncing back. So youngins - lose it now!!! Respect your elders.

Kelly - if I could afford the airfare I would come and stalk you. A visit to the UK would be lovely.

Just curious, that's me.

I tried to put my crown on and it's not working. :sad2:

Also, the wonderful thing about eating healthy is that a lot of "hunger" and cravings and yearnings, if they are not emotionally based, are due to lacking nutrients.

So getting nutrients is not only big in general terms - it helps in the weight loss journey.

Lisa that is awesome! Upset about losing your rear?!? So true on the lose weight when you are young. Things tend to move south and don't spring back very quickly.

That is the exact reason why I continue to stop myself and ask, "Can you keep this up for life? or even more - Do you want to keep this up for life?" And when my answer is no I make adjustments - no matter the outcome. Happy first. Weight loss second. (I'm talking about my happiness here - I realize we are all different. )

Love it! Great for you!

Hey All!

:welcome: Heather!

 Hi, sarah! Nice to see you back here!!

Delena is feeling better today, and I think I will be 100% tomorrow. I did do my core/strength today while watching BL, but no running. No excuses, Just feeling lazy. It will get done tomorrow so that I can stay on track for my exercise challenge.

I tracked again today, about 1200 calories again. The main thing I can see is that I need to add in 1-2 more fruit/veggie servings, and I need to eliminate some butter calories. What is the spray butter I have heard some of you talk about?? And I had no idea that coffee, by itself without milk has no calories.

Drank all my water too!

And I think I am going to go track down those noodles. Hopefully our fresh market has them.

Hope everyone is having a good evening!!

Amy, so glad your princess is feeling better!

hi all

just wanted to check in really quick... i haven't posted the past few days, i've been in rough shape. The eardrum rupture/infection got pretty bad, and i've been hopped up on a Vicodin/Rx strength motrin cocktail and some antibiotics for the past few days.... head is all sorts of screwy!

Hope to be back to normal in 2-3 days, so i'll be checking in when i can....just makes me too exhausted to be able to focus on much of anything.....

hope everyone is doing well!!!!

Oh no! I hope you get better soon!

Never heard of it either. Good info!

Wow. The things I don't know how to do on the DIS. Endless. :lmao:

Nancy? My twin - did you know this existed? :rotfl: :lmao:

Lyz - if I never sign out am I always on? So curious.

No, when you close your screen, buh-bye. I can't see you anymore.

What's with the new addition?

Well, I thought you'd figure it out! I'm pregnant.

Just Kidding. Dumbo is my favorite character, being an elephant and all. And I espically like when he's with his momma, "Baby of Mine" - and while I was surfing the DIS, idly looking for something other than my tax prep to do, I happened upon the mother load of animated pictures.

OMG the questions! :lmao: Listen. You know how I feel about collecting my medals. I want them. I want them all. A complete set. Once earned, they should not be revoked (Unless you can prove I was on performance enhancing drugs :rotfl: there's no drug testing here is there? :scared: )

Again, refer to the manual. Sheesh. Section 6(a): "Urine will be collected upon suspicious inquiry. Official judgement by a. the challenge czar or b. the mayor of crazy town." "Illegial compounds cannot be veiled as common goat product."

And here I just told the newbies how smart you were. :crazy2: No - remember? I'm technologically impaired. Born to be Amish :rolleyes1 Of course I have no idea what she is talking about

:rotfl: Nancy you are on fire! Cracking me up! And I just don't have the energy to explain the buddy list. You've been here since like 2001!

Ok, naps? Wow. No, my vampiric soul does not nap. :rotfl2: Those are two new tags that I MUST have:

--My friends think I am a vampire
--I love Jesus, but I drink a little...

I have to find the TF.

You know, your probably the lone DISser who could track down the tag fairy and convince it to give you those tags.:mic:

You don't have urine to collect, do you.

People laugh at my super-sized salad consumption all the time. I bring a romaine lettuce, a cucumber, and whatever other veggies to work and they sit on my desk all week as I eat at them. They call it my garden.

I found this very amusing.

Yes, I have AIM. Didn't realize it, but I do! I'm adsrtw05.

Yaay!

That would be WOLVES. The wolves come out when there are a lot of vamps around. Sheesh. :lmao:

Wait just a daggon minute. YOU are out there running with packs of coyotes! This I don't like.

LisaV - this one is for you...

The phone call went well. We are meeting on Saturday morning for coffee (well, tea for me). Now I have two days to stress about what to wear... Where's Liz?

Paula

Paula - yaay! (you do realize you should have kept that to yourself, cause now we're gonna badger you?)

I have never heard of that. Totally going to use that.

Amy - Glad Little D is on the mend. I was thinking of her today, slamming your laptop shut while you try to surf.

Yes, yes details!

Have fun!!

Paula, how did I miss the date!?! SOO excited for you.

I have been a little coy about this because I didn't want to jump the gun on anything, but yes, I have been out there trying to meet some people. I think it is this new confidence that I have recently found that is pushing me out there, but hey I'm there right. So I have been e-mailing a few guys for a few weeks now and finally got to the point where there was someone that I was ready to start having real time conversations with. We chatted on the phone tonight and things went really well. We are going to get together on Saturday morning for coffee and to see what happens. Pictures have been exchanged and so far we both like what we see so keep your fingers crossed that the chemistry is there.

Now, what does one wear to meet someone for coffee on a Saturday morning? Um Liz - oh fashion goddess - where are you??? (Hope you are having fun at the concert tonight...)

So that's it for now. Taking it slow for now. Don't want to get to wrapped up in things yet. I'll keep you posted on any new details.

Paula

Holy crap! Yes, you did! OMG, my heart has not yet re-started. You suck.

Paula

Yeah!!!! So excited for you!

Lots and lots and lots to catch up on...

Amy--glad little D is better and good job getting your core done! And YES, cooking with alcohol is allowed and will not get you evicted from the wagon. So sayeth the Czar.

LYZ--You can use whatever day you want for the challenge. Go ahead and count last Friday. Everyone's weeks are different as it is (Paula weighs in on Mondays, Liz on Wednesdays, etc.). You get to choose. As for what we get in our signatures for this challenge, we will all have to think of something. And maybe different people get different things. Like, if it was your goal to focus on running (just sayin' ;) ) then maybe you get a sparkly sneaker for your signature. Or I can just find better goddess crowns! What's with the new addition?

PAULA--Hope you are feeling better! Good that you have some rest from Jesse!

STACEY--WOW, that sounds nasty! Hope you get better soon! How is the illness affecting your program? Is it one of those, "I need to eat everything in my path" sicknesses or the "If I ever see food again it will be too soon" illnesses?

SARAH!!!! Welcome back! SO good to see you! Sounds like you are still at it and making progress! Good for you! Loving the 70 pound chip in your signature!

HEATHER--welcome! We are the exact same size...5'2" and 138. I consider myself a 6 (not a 7...junior sizes are long in my past :rotfl2: ) and I am working toward being a solid 4. And I want to lose 15 pounds. So what is your plan?

LisaV--Hi honey! :flower3: I so totally agree with you about youngsters! :rotfl2: Seriously, all of you 20-somethings out there...LOSE THE WEIGHT NOW. It is so much harder to take it off once you get older. REALLY. If you believe anything I have ever said on this thread, believe that.

LIZ--your posts over the past couple of days have been SO spot on! Have fun at Marah tonight. :cool1:

KAT--love that you are rockin' it this week! Way to go! SUPER proud of you! And I know it is hard for you that you don't have a trip planned till Sept., but really, this way at least you won't get derailed again, right?

And everyone, remember when STEPH loved us? :rotfl2:

KELLY--thank you so much for sharing your story. I really appreciate that you have enough trust in this group to tell us something that you have never before told anyone other than your mom. :flower3: You are making SUCH great progress!

SUNNY--good to see you posting! I think you are going to have an amazing weigh in at WW tomorrow!

Everyone else...HI!

LURKERS...come on out and play!

Should be back down to 60 but I refuse to change it... LOL....

OMG, we have the biggest pack of coyotes outside right now that I have EVER seen. And they are SO loud. They must have taken down a deer or something. It is freaking me out, I tell ya!

We had a pack in our sub division about a week or 2 ago... Now they put warnings on our gates about the coyotes... One of the things mention putting barbed wire around your back fence... LOL... I'm sure the HOA would just LOOOOOVE that...

I so relate to this.

Ack! Hope it heals quickly and painlessly.

Thank you!

Hope you feel better soon Paula!

Way to get the confidence up!! :cheer2: DH and I met online :)

Well dinner was great... Got suckered in to going to San Diego on the 20th through the 21st... My best friend is in an organization called Job's Daughters (I was a part of it too at one point) and she is having a reception also her bf is proposing!! I sold him the diamond... hehe! So both want me out there for different reasons and she doesn't know yet that she is getting proposed to! It will be great!

Paula, that is great. As far as clothes, I was reading in a magazine JUST this week. When meeting someone for the first time, wear what you'd normally wear. If it's jeans and flats, wear that. If you wear something you don't normally, you'll be uncomfortable and give off a false impression.

EriKa - hahahaha - Amy is going to be stealing off of you.

Holy crap! Yes, you did! OMG, my heart has not yet re-started. You suck.

You just crack me up.... :rotfl2:

um hello... I am the one waking the thread up this morning.... What is up with that?

Wakey wakey people... time to get up and head out into this wonderful cold weather that I think we are stuck in (even poor Amy in Florida is frigid this morning).

Make today a good one and make good choices.

Paula
