In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

Lots and lots and lots to catch up on...

Amy--glad little D is better and good job getting your core done! And YES, cooking with alcohol is allowed and will not get you evicted from the wagon. So sayeth the Czar.

LYZ--You can use whatever day you want for the challenge. Go ahead and count last Friday. Everyone's weeks are different as it is (Paula weighs in on Mondays, Liz on Wednesdays, etc.). You get to choose. As for what we get in our signatures for this challenge, we will all have to think of something. And maybe different people get different things. Like, if it was your goal to focus on running (just sayin' ;) ) then maybe you get a sparkly sneaker for your signature. Or I can just find better goddess crowns! What's with the new addition?

PAULA--Hope you are feeling better! Good that you have some rest from Jesse!

STACEY--WOW, that sounds nasty! Hope you get better soon! How is the illness affecting your program? Is it one of those, "I need to eat everything in my path" sicknesses or the "If I ever see food again it will be too soon" illnesses?

SARAH!!!! Welcome back! SO good to see you! Sounds like you are still at it and making progress! Good for you! Loving the 70 pound chip in your signature!

HEATHER--welcome! We are the exact same size...5'2" and 138. I consider myself a 6 (not a 7...junior sizes are long in my past :rotfl2: ) and I am working toward being a solid 4. And I want to lose 15 pounds. So what is your plan?

LisaV--Hi honey! :flower3: I so totally agree with you about youngsters! :rotfl2: Seriously, all of you 20-somethings out there...LOSE THE WEIGHT NOW. It is so much harder to take it off once you get older. REALLY. If you believe anything I have ever said on this thread, believe that.

LIZ--your posts over the past couple of days have been SO spot on! Have fun at Marah tonight. :cool1:

KAT--love that you are rockin' it this week! Way to go! SUPER proud of you! And I know it is hard for you that you don't have a trip planned till Sept., but really, this way at least you won't get derailed again, right?

And everyone, remember when STEPH loved us? :rotfl2:

KELLY--thank you so much for sharing your story. I really appreciate that you have enough trust in this group to tell us something that you have never before told anyone other than your mom. :flower3: You are making SUCH great progress!

SUNNY--good to see you posting! I think you are going to have an amazing weigh in at WW tomorrow!

Everyone else...HI!

LURKERS...come on out and play!

This was yesterday. I am moving on. KFC sucks. Never again. Plus had emotional eating binge last night on a few chips and loads of guac. I was fuming mad. Next time I NEED to go walk. Not eat. This weekend will be really warm and nice so plan on walking a lot. I did learn something. I had been putting in all the food all day and only looking at calories so I was happy. Then the fat slapped me in the face and holy artichoke not pretty. The Colonel should be deep fried for the fat content in his biscuit alone. Extra Crispy!

Long day today.
Will get caught up on posts tom.
Hope all is well with everyone.

Oh! A couple of comments that I forgot to add...

On the a$$ issue that LisaV and Lyz were talking about. I am with Lyz on this one. Baby got <too much> back!:rotfl2: I was talking with J about my weight loss a while ago and he looked me up and down and said, "Yeah, you really DO only have about 10-15 pounds to go....and it's ALL A$$!" That's my guy. :lmao:

And now I have forgotten the other issue. Dammit.

Holy Crap people! I make dinner & go to a drama club meeting and this thread just explodes! :crowded:

Things are going... DH survived 2 layoffs from his company and will be on days

Hang in there, Sarah. I know it's hard to be thrilled about cut backs and pay reductions. But I'm happy for you that you are both still gainfully employed. :goodvibes

I think I might declare thread bankruptcy. I just don't know if I am going to find time until way after it is no longer relevant...

I think "hockey tournament" should count for an excused absence. If the czar doesn't approve, we'll start a petition :lmao:

It is one of my two rest days at the gym and I need the break tonight to kick this cold out of my head once and for all.

Feel better Paula!

But I am losing my A$$. And I am not a happy camper!!!:rotfl2: I have always had a good a$$ and you know I must have if Ms. humble can say that. I'm royally pissed.:lmao: :rotfl:

ok. Just started singing "Baby's Got Back" in my head :rotfl:

Congrats on the smaller jeans!

I wondered if you were lurking, cause most people have been when they join so they already "know" us.

Kind of a scary thought, actually :scared:

Those who complete the challenge are awarded the pink tiara you can see in the signatures.

ERIKA - Will those be taken away if not completed the next time? Is it one tiara at a time or a collection of tiaras? I think it should be one, so you work to keep it, but we don't want to minimize the hard work accomplished in the past. Hmmm, let me know challenge czar. One more thing. Is Friday the first day of the challenge or the last day? I exercised last Friday, so do I include it in my Friday challenge update or include this Fridays exercise?

OMG the questions! :lmao: Listen. You know how I feel about collecting my medals. I want them. I want them all. A complete set. Once earned, they should not be revoked (Unless you can prove I was on performance enhancing drugs :rotfl: there's no drug testing here is there? :scared: )

And I will not be in a bikini. But you will see this stomach. God, I'm getting cocky. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2:

That is the exact reason why I continue to stop myself and ask, "Can you keep this up for life? or even more - Do you want to keep this up for life?" And when my answer is no I make adjustments - no matter the outcome. Happy first. Weight loss second. (I'm talking about my happiness here - I realize we are all different. )

You're exactly right. (hey newbies. Did you all know that LisaV is SMART? She is. Listen to her. :thumbsup2 )

Sarah is in my buddy list. As are you and everyone else on this thread. When I log on, I check my buddy list and see who's on. And I saw Sarah before she made her presence known.

Wait. What?:confused3

Wow. The things I don't know how to do on the DIS. Endless. :lmao:

Nancy? My twin - did you know this existed? :rotfl: :lmao:

Lyz - if I never sign out am I always on? So curious.

And here I just told the newbies how smart you were. :crazy2: No - remember? I'm technologically impaired. Born to be Amish :rolleyes1 Of course I have no idea what she is talking about

And, I found today that the little mini-moo half and halfs are only 10 cals and 0 carbs.

MINI-MOO's ???? :rotfl: What on earth are mini-moo's? Do they come from tiny little cows? :confused3

Thanks... I pretty much carry about 80 percent of my weight in my stomach...

I hear ya. That's where all my excess is too. Hate it. Hate it all.

Hi Stacey! Sorry you're feeling so crap-tastic :sad2:

STEPH!!! Where are you? :confused3

I forgot..No booze today either. I don't miss it. Yet.

And YES, cooking with alcohol is allowed and will not get you evicted from the wagon. So sayeth the Czar.

um hmmm. But as Accountability Officer I MUST insist upon a breath-a-lyzer test. I need to know that all the alcohol has been cooked off ::cop:

This was yesterday. I am moving on.

:thumbsup2

On the a$$ issue that LisaV and Lyz were talking about. I am with Lyz on this one. Baby got <too much> back!:rotfl2: I was talking with J about my weight loss a while ago and he looked me up and down and said, "Yeah, you really DO only have about 10-15 pounds to go....and it's ALL A$$!" That's my guy. :lmao:

:faint: Ok I'd be tellin' hubby that I have 180 pounds of a$$ to lose - YOU! :rotfl2:

/
HA! NANCY! You were typing while I posted! Baby got back! YES! And looking for Steph! And agreeing with LisaV! Too funny.

Ok, naps? Wow. No, my vampiric soul does not nap. :rotfl2: Those are two new tags that I MUST have:

--My friends think I am a vampire
--I love Jesus, but I drink a little...

I have to find the TF.

So, my day...despite the strained hammy, I got in a 4-mile run. And oddly enough, the hamstring felt BETTER after the run. And felt good all day until about an hour ago. :confused3 No clue. I will be doing core shortly. Tomorrow is a rest day from running, so I will do bike and swim, I think, in prep for the tri next month. Of course, that means a bathing suit. :scared: And right now, I don't have a racing suit, so I am not sure what I am going to do. A shopping excursion might be in order.

Anyway, when I got back from my run this afternoon, it was raining in my living room. UGH. We get ice dams here in Maine. They are super common. Like, every house has one right now. It is on the roof when there has been a lot of snow, which then starts to melt of the roof, then it gets super cold so all of that melting snow freezes. Then it snows more, melts more, but the new runoff has nowhere to go (because of the earlier ice, which has now become an ice dam) and thus the newly melting stuff finds its way INTO your house.

Many ice dams take care of themselves and don't ruin your house. But every once in a while they cause trouble. Today was our day. So J had to come home early from work, get up on the roof (which is no small thing since we have a steep pitch and it is ALL ICE) and spent 2 hours chipping away the ice to free the dam. Which he did. And I caught the dripping inside the instant it began, so no furniture or anything was damaged. But we will be ripping down the ceiling in the Spring and re-insulating and re-sheetrocking. So, that was my day. Fun, eh?

Um, guys? Are you ok? My IM has been going off constantly while I am mealing on shirataki (or however it is spelled) noodles and veggies. Let's fill up another 3 pages tonight, lol:rotfl2:

Oh Oh, before I finish my grub...

I tracked again today. Didn't really plan on it but did anyway.

Okay I went back about 5-6 pages to comment, but I think that is my limit...

KAT--love that you are rockin' it this week! Way to go! SUPER proud of you! And I know it is hard for you that you don't have a trip planned till Sept., but really, this way at least you won't get derailed again, right?

...

LURKERS...come on out and play!

Thanks!! I am actually happy there is no trip planned. I need a solid stretch of time with nothing to bump me off.

And I agree, come on out!!! We don't bite, I promise.

Hey All!

:welcome: Heather!

 Hi, sarah! Nice to see you back here!!

Delena is feeling better today, and I think I will be 100% tomorrow. I did do my core/strength today while watching BL, but no running. No excuses, Just feeling lazy. It will get done tomorrow so that I can stay on track for my exercise challenge.

I tracked again today, about 1200 calories again. The main thing I can see is that I need to add in 1-2 more fruit/veggie servings, and I need to eliminate some butter calories. What is the spray butter I have heard some of you talk about?? And I had no idea that coffee, by itself without milk has no calories.

Drank all my water too!

And I think I am going to go track down those noodles. Hopefully our fresh market has them.

Hope everyone is having a good evening!!

Glad that Delena is feeling better and that you are on your way to feeling better as well.

The whole drive thru food confessions - I am that woman! Just sayin'. Been there. Done that. Would probalby do it today if I was low.

E - funny.

Lisa - Twilight. Hmmm. I love that Cullen Family. I wish I was just starting to read Twilight. (Course I'm looking for anything to put off my tax information assembly. I might even get on the elliptical :crazy2: )

Oh man, I am so that woman too. Been there, done that, have the XXL t-shirt to go with it.

Hi everyone,

Feeling like crap today thanks to my head cold, but wanted to chime in on a few things.

Erika - take care of that hamstring. it sounds painful.

Dawn - again so proud of the progress you are making. Little steps lead to real change. I have done some of the drive through runs that you spoke about - definitely not my best moments so I know where you were. Keep trudging. Use the veggies as filler foods. My sister still laughs when she thinks back to the vertical mound of salad that would be on my plate when I first started JC. The mound got smaller and smaller as my stomach adjusted to needed less food. In the meantime, eat the veggies (frozen ones are what I used a lot since they were cheap and easily prepared). Play around with different vinegars or citrus juices and spices to give them different flavor accents with little calories added.

Nancy - no obscenities screamed at Jessie yet, but I was giving him a hard time last night. He was lounging on one of the machines while I was doing my lunges and such. I kept giving him cr@p about his sitting on his bummocks during my entire workout. That of course energized him and led to a harder workout for me. Not sure, but I think it was a win-win situation.

Kelly - I feel your pain on the KFC incident. There have been times like that in my life too, but I haven't told anyone about them.

Liz - thanks for the suggestion on the bread. I will keep that in mind for when I start eating real food again (which should be soon).

I need to run to another meeting. I have more that I want to say, but it is going to have to wait. I will leave you with this:

I am starting my first real conversation with one of the guys I have been chattring with online tonight. I'll let you know how it goes. (and Amiee, you can start busting on me with the comments...)

Paula

Hope that you feel better soon.

People laugh at my super-sized salad consumption all the time. I bring a romaine lettuce, a cucumber, and whatever other veggies to work and they sit on my desk all week as I eat at them. They call it my garden.

Morning!

So, that hip pain that I mentioned a while back. At first LisaPR and I were thinking piriformis. Then I was pretty sure it was IT band. Nope, not that either. It is actually my hamstring. I did a very light ham workout yesterday (as I have been going easy on legs for a while trying to baby this injury) and this morning, BAM! Clear as day. Strained hammy. Not good timing. Not sure how much to rest it.

Ok, forgot all of the other comments I was going to make. Guess I'll have to go back and multi-quote.

Sorry to hear about the injury. :(

Just checking in to let you know that I got my strength and core done! :cool1:

Thanks, Kat! I needed it.

So my totals for today are:

Food = 1250 calories, tracked it all
Alcohol = none
Water = hmmm, not all. I think I have to drink some now.
Exercise = 10 mile bike, 2.5 mile run, strength, core (challenge total = 220/2100)

Glad that I could help!!

I am not sure I did my tracking progress for yesterday, but it counts for today too:
1) Calories, under 1200. All clean, < 20 carbs. Check
2) Water, 64+ oz. Check
3) Exercise, 30 min on elliptical, 5 on treadmill, some core. Check
4) No alcohol. Check

I did cave on weighing on Sunday to get a marker. So I may decide to join in with weigh-ins after all. And, well, since it seems to be confession time, I weighed in today as well. Happily, the scale showed 4 lbs down...

Check in time for me!

Food: 28 points (on target)
Alcohol: none
Exercise: all cardio - 60 minutes. total 255/2100

I have my 7:00am appt tomorrow. Haven't heard from the trainer telling me she's sick still, so, assuming we're "on" for the morning! :thumbsup2

Who am I supposed to be keeping tabs on these days? I don't even know anymore :confused3 Some accountability officer I've turned into.

AMY - how's the C25K coming?

KAT - am I supposed to be asking you anything? :confused3

MINI-MOO's ???? :rotfl: What on earth are mini-moo's? Do they come from tiny little cows? :confused3

Mini-moos are little premeasured cups of half and half that you usually buy in bulk. A lot of companies and such use them as they have a long shelf life.

HA! NANCY! You were typing while I posted! Baby got back! YES! And looking for Steph! And agreeing with LisaV! Too funny.

Oh, that sucks on the ice dam!!

Btw, that would vampiric LACK of soul. Cuz vampires don't have souls. And/or you sold yours. Just sayin'.

I am tracking: food tracking, exercise (5 times a week), no alcohol, and water intake. But I have been posting it daily so, no, no asking, yet. :thumbsup2

hi all

just wanted to check in really quick... i haven't posted the past few days, i've been in rough shape. The eardrum rupture/infection got pretty bad, and i've been hopped up on a Vicodin/Rx strength motrin cocktail and some antibiotics for the past few days.... head is all sorts of screwy!

Hope to be back to normal in 2-3 days, so i'll be checking in when i can....just makes me too exhausted to be able to focus on much of anything.....

hope everyone is doing well!!!!

Yikes... that does not sound like fun at all. Please take care of yourself and feel better soon. I promise to stop whining like Bella if you do...

um hmmm. But as Accountability Officer I MUST insist upon a breath-a-lyzer test. I need to know that all the alcohol has been cooked off ::cop:

:thumbsup2

:faint: Ok I'd be tellin' hubby that I have 180 pounds of a$$ to lose - YOU! :rotfl2:

Nancy is on fire tonight. Are you sure she is off the wine? We may need to get the breathalyzer out for her. :rotfl2:

HA! NANCY! You were typing while I posted! Baby got back! YES! And looking for Steph! And agreeing with LisaV! Too funny.

I remember when Steph loved us. Not feeling it lately... Steph - we miss you... :wave2:

Dawn - you realized that you emotionally ate last night and that's good. Remember awareness is the first step. Now you just need to remember what that felt like and channel the energy into doing something else besides using food to "solve" your problems. It is way easier said than done, but keep trying. Oh - and the next time you want to munch on chips and dip, think salsa. No fat and it can count towards your veggies. Just sayin.

Amy - Glad that D's feeling better. I am sure she is less mush like now that she is feeling better.

OMG, we have the biggest pack of coyotes outside right now that I have EVER seen. And they are SO loud. They must have taken down a deer or something. It is freaking me out, I tell ya!

Mini-moos rock!

Yes, I have AIM. Didn't realize it, but I do! I'm adsrtw05.

I am katk1975. I am about to go eat dinner but will IM when I get back on.

One of my fav low cal snack options is ff spinach dip and veggies. FF spinach dip is frozen spinach nuked for a while, some knorr spinach dip mix, and 6-8 tbsps of ff sour cream. About 100 cals and satisfies my dip craving...

Aren't coyotes attracted to vamps??? I just couldn't help myself!:rotfl:

At any rate, that's scary.
