In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

Ohh I like the budget board too!

I wondered if you were lurking, cause most people have been when they join so they already "know" us. We are a clean slate with you, ha!

I count calories. We all do different plans. I guess the biggest success stories of 2008 would be:

HockeyKat/Kat - who mostly counts calories and exercises
3DisneyKids/EriKa - who is a vegetarian and exercises all, I mean ALL the time, and has taken up running
SeptemberGirl/Liz - who does weight watchers and is exercising more this year than last

(I mention these, cause they have picture proof, before and afters that are astonishing.)

and
LisaViolet/Lisa - who eats what she wants, but exercises (we don't have picture proof, but she has lost much weight.)

This year, it seems quite a few of the members are on fire and the results are showing.

We have a spring challenge just starting. It ends March 15 (?). We set personal goals and update each week. On Friday. Those who complete the challenge are awarded the pink tiara you can see in the signatures.

ERIKA - Will those be taken away if not completed the next time? Is it one tiara at a time or a collection of tiaras? I think it should be one, so you work to keep it, but we don't want to minimize the hard work accomplished in the past. Hmmm, let me know challenge czar. One more thing. Is Friday the first day of the challenge or the last day? I exercised last Friday, so do I include it in my Friday challenge update or include this Fridays exercise?

:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: You kill me. I will price my camera battery soon - just for you.

And I will not be in a bikini. But you will see this stomach. God, I'm getting cocky. :rotfl2:

It's not a battery battery. It's one of the square specific to the camera things. I hope to God it's the battery - it no longer recharges. Cause if it's the camera - crap a mundo.

Took me forever. The only places around here that carry them are Whole Foods, Earth Fare, and the Asian market. The Asian market did not have the tofu-added ones.

Mr Kat is a lot like Mr Sarah, no way will he touch something that has the word tofu on it. He may try the non-tofu version once he gets bored, though.

I think I might declare thread bankruptcy. I just don't know if I am going to find time until way after it is no longer relevant...

Sprouts has them and I read Safeways sometimes have them.

SARAH!!!!! Welcome Back!!!! Missed you girl...
I am over the moon thrilled that your hubby is finally moving to the day shift. I know how hard it has been for you to deal with that. OK - go and serve those extra 20 pounds their eviction notice because their time is up and it is time to go.

Peysonsmom - aka Heather - Welcome to this crazy bunch. Jump in, share a little about yourself, your program, your struggles. We all feed off of each other's knowledge for inspiration so add what you can and take what you need.

I am calling it a day and heading home. If all goes as planned, I'll be eating dinner, changing into some comfy warm clothes and settling in for a phone call with the new prospect and then some Twilight reading. I'm sure I'll check in here at some point. It is one of my two rest days at the gym and I need the break tonight to kick this cold out of my head once and for all.

Talk to you all later,
Paula

Thanks!!! I'm thrilled as well... It will be nice not having to sleep in 4 hour increments... LOL!! :rotfl2: 10 of those pounds already left lol!

Hi Sarah!!!!! Lovely to see you. Missed you.

Hi Heather. A big welcome to you.

Well Twilight. Just realized I left it in Uxbridge. Forgot to put it in my bag to come down home here. So the weekend.

I tried on jeans today. And this pair didn't fit well. Fit but didn't like the fit. And guess what - tried on the lower size and they fit. It was a 12!!!! Now that's a plus store 12. So that means I am completely in 14s in regular. :cheer2: So shocked.

Vain moment here, ready -

But I am losing my A$$. And I am not a happy camper!!!:rotfl2: I have always had a good a$$ and you know I must have if Ms. humble can say that. I'm royally pissed.:lmao: :rotfl:

And youngins - lose the weight now!!!!! Really. It's not just my age - I have thin skin and it's not bouncing back. So youngins - lose it now!!! Respect your elders.

Kelly - if I could afford the airfare I would come and stalk you. A visit to the UK would be lovely.

Just curious, that's me.

I tried to put my crown on and it's not working. :sad2:

Also, the wonderful thing about eating healthy is that a lot of "hunger" and cravings and yearnings, if they are not emotionally based, are due to lacking nutrients.

So getting nutrients is not only big in general terms - it helps in the weight loss journey.

Sheesh I'm jealous... I'm still in my 18s and my cute size 18 flare pants muffin... tho since i got back on the wagon i've lost 3 inches on my stomach so I have to wonder if they shrunk in the wash...

Yaay for the 14's!!!! I don't understand. I don't want my bummocks! I'm all bummocks!

Sarah,

I'm so sorry about your/your mom's dog. Very sorry.

Lisa

Thanks...

Nancy,

I too caught Jillian. Whattheflippinever. I know plenty of athletes who look like they lost forty pounds and they say, "no ten at the most". Their body just shrunk because they chose a different workout plan. Maybe starting running or did a different weight routine. And this is not one - many.

Also, she's bizarre on it's only calories in and what you exercise off in calories. That's it. No that isn't the complete story. She should read Fit or Fat. Changing your body into a furnace is important too - changing your body to a fat burning furnace is another factor. I've lost over 75. And that's a for sure number now that I can verify by the scale. I would never have lost that if it was simply always calories in and calories worked off. It's because I've changed my body's compostion. .

And I love Jillian.

Oh the trainer on the over the hour wasn't worrying about overexercising fatigue and that outcome. His claim was that the body gets used to more than an hour easily and if you can't the body adjusts. The BL is the perfect example. They exercise for hours and hours and so many of them gain when they get home because they can't keep up.

The ones from the BL who keep it off all said on Oprah that they exercise two hours a day. Every one of them. Fine if you want to. But that makes me sad. :sad2: To me it feels like they are stuck in a cycle like they know if they let up they are gaining and I find that sad.

That is the exact reason why I continue to stop myself and ask, "Can you keep this up for life? or even more - Do you want to keep this up for life?" And when my answer is no I make adjustments - no matter the outcome. Happy first. Weight loss second. (I'm talking about my happiness here - I realize we are all different. )

Yaay for the 14's!!!! I don't understand. I don't want my bummocks! I'm all bummocks!

:rotfl2: I don't know how to explain that. :rotfl2:

You are not all bummocks. You are such a liar. ;)

Yeah, I'm still in shock that I wear a 12 in a plus store. Shocked. There was a time where I bought 20s. :cheer2:

Nope not yet... Haven't had much time to read between naps... :rotfl2: I plan to read them though... Only thing I've been reading lately are books on Arizona hikes...

Oh how I love naps.

My complete university schedule was mornings. And I hate mornings. I did it simply to have afternoon naps. I so love them.

You don't look like an 18 Sarah. You wear your weight well.

Sarah is in my buddy list. As are you and everyone else on this thread. When I log on, I check my buddy list and see who's on. And I saw Sarah before she made her presence known.

He is a super cute puppy!

Good cereal is key. Breakfast, a real one, really helps.

Sunny, hi. You asked about WW and getting your points in. I am of the mind that you should try to eat all your daily points - now if you have a splurge day and eat some weekly ones, so be it. Then maybe your daily aren't so critical. But your body needs those daily points to lose! So, to get more in, eat a fruit with every meal. With breakfast, a cup of blueberries. With lunch, a cup of strawberries. An apple for snack. Etc. And veggies, of course, at lunch and dinner. But adding the fruits and some more veggies will add up points, fill you up, and give you vitamins, fiber, etc.

I am making sauce for dinner with leftover veggies from Super Bowl. Tomatoes, some peppers, garlic. Olive oil. All simmering on the stove. I love homemade sauce and it's so easy! I prepped it all while on the phone with Lyz!

Someone mentioned pasta. I do whole wheat - Whole Foods has a good one, as does Bionature - mixed with some of the Barilla Plus. Nick loves the Barilla Plus. We buy the thinnest whole wheat available, and I never miss the regular pasta. Honestly, it holds nothing for me. And believe you me, I loved nothing more than sitting on the couch on a cold night and eating a huge bowl of pasta. So if I can switch, anyone can!

Thanks for the WW info, I go tomorrow night for my first weigh in. Hope I'm down a least a little bit. I am trying to add more fruits and veggies, planning to have a tangelo a little later and I think that will put me up to my 28 points, but I need to check and make sure. Haven't had all of my water, but I am working on it. I have tried the Barilla Plus pasta. Love it! Can't tell a difference.

Wow. The things I don't know how to do on the DIS. Endless. :lmao:

Nancy? My twin - did you know this existed? :rotfl: :lmao:

Lyz - if I never sign out am I always on? So curious.

:wave2: Hi Sunny.

Hey All!

:welcome: Heather!

 Hi, sarah! Nice to see you back here!!

Delena is feeling better today, and I think I will be 100% tomorrow. I did do my core/strength today while watching BL, but no running. No excuses, Just feeling lazy. It will get done tomorrow so that I can stay on track for my exercise challenge.

I tracked again today, about 1200 calories again. The main thing I can see is that I need to add in 1-2 more fruit/veggie servings, and I need to eliminate some butter calories. What is the spray butter I have heard some of you talk about?? And I had no idea that coffee, by itself without milk has no calories.

Drank all my water too!

And I think I am going to go track down those noodles. Hopefully our fresh market has them.

Hope everyone is having a good evening!!

Butter spray is Parkay or I can't believe it's not butter. 0 cals in a few sprays, but be careful about pouring it out as the whole bottle has something like 600-800 cals. A few sprays on veggies is usually enough to make them better. :)

And, I found today that the little mini-moo half and halfs are only 10 cals and 0 carbs. We have them at work and I have avoided in favor of a dash of skim milk due to calorie consumption, but half of one is plenty for me in a big mug of coffee so I think I may move to those permanently. I am not sure how big my "dash" of skim is and these I can measure for sure.

You don't look like an 18 Sarah. You wear your weight well.

Thanks... I pretty much carry about 80 percent of my weight in my stomach... its awful because to fit my stomach the butt and thighs of pants are always baggy...

Hey All!

:welcome: Heather!

Well I did my 30 Day Shred workout... was a tad easier today than monday but quads and abs are still sore... We'll see... When DH gets home he is making us breakfast for dinner... big slice of maple ham (180 calories), 2 eggs fried (150 calories) in toast (2 slices of 45 calorie a slice bread)... basically eggs in a basket and ham... I looooove eggs in a basket... for the pan I'll use pam and a little of the spray butter. Well off to go take my nap! Only 12 more days of this!

hi all

just wanted to check in really quick... i haven't posted the past few days, i've been in rough shape. The eardrum rupture/infection got pretty bad, and i've been hopped up on a Vicodin/Rx strength motrin cocktail and some antibiotics for the past few days.... head is all sorts of screwy!

Hope to be back to normal in 2-3 days, so i'll be checking in when i can....just makes me too exhausted to be able to focus on much of anything.....

hope everyone is doing well!!!!
