In Search of my Body...Not The One I ate...#3 "Crowning Goddesses As We Go"

:wave2: :tiptoe:
Uh oh, busted for Lurking!
I would really like to join you guys - some of you may 'know' me from the Peeps thread, for those of you who dont my name is Kelly, I got married in August and reached my target weight - its now December and Ive managed to gain about 15lbs. Not good!

Soooo, im still on the Peeps thread but I need more, Im greedy! :rotfl: If its ok with you guys I'd like to post here too, for motivation, exercise ideas, gossip and twilight talk!

So if you'll have me, here I am :flower3:

Hey Kelly!

A big welcome to you. Chips and salsa - yep that is yummy. Anyway just wanted to say welcome to you.

It's nice to have new voices. So jump right in. They - we - are very welcoming.

Lisa

YAY!!! So glad you could join us! :yay: :yay:

Lisa, congrats!!!

I am trying to catch up on some stuff at work today so this has to be short...

Oh, I finished New Moon last night. :)
I am on page 89 ch.8 of new moon, darn it I have to get ready for work! I will be on the puter all night reading! I think I forgot steph has tonight off!

Amy - :surfweb:  on the family issues. That's hard all around. I was just thinking about DUIs the other day. Our news did an experiment with some reporters - actually the police put it on - and they had them drink and stop and breathe in and do a driving simulator and drink more. And it was unreal how little it took to be over. Actually what surprised me even more that people seemed so steady - their brain was telling them totally okay but the simulator showed their reaction time was way down.

I'm so sorry for your brother with his marriage. That must hurt like hel!. It must.

That's great that Delena is having some time with her cousin. Nice.

Thanks everyone for your kind words about the weight. My success is because of your ongoing support. I actually think of you guys when I'm on rep 20 in a strength interval and I'm trying to get to 25 and it's killing. I'm like thread, thread, thread - they are there and understand. So thanks. Paula I smiled at the consistency. I must. If I'm focusing on exercise - consistency is a must. It's a trade off for my choice to let food go.

But I know you meant consistency in loss. And Paula - let's check me out - the consistency in weight loss now that I'm off scale.:lmao: It won't be quite so consistent no doubt. Smiling. An experiment for sure. I so scared but I really need the scale break. So I'm trying not to second guess myself.

And I've been working on packing up - going through lockers (storage area in condos) to get this place on the market. Fa la la la. Trying to be positive just sad. Anyway I found an exercise program that I love. Anyway the writer said I don't care what time is best to exercise. Don't care about this study or that. Consistency is what matters. Just focus on consistency. So true. So true.

DisneyGalUK Sheffield, England
#1 Name and Family you care to share plus a little about your weight struggles/programs you are on:Kelly, age 27. Married to Alan since August this year. I reached my target weight at the end of July and I have now gained back 15lbs. Ive done WW and Slimming World, both with equally good results - however I think the thing that works best for me is healthy eating and exercise.

#2 What are some of your trigger foods? Chips and salsa, chocolate (any!)

#3 What form of excersize (activity) would you love to do but have limmited yourself from due to weight/confidence? I scuba dived a few times when I was younger and I would love to do it again. I would also like to do more hiking - there are some beautiful national parks around here but I would most likely collapse into a sweaty heap if I even attempted to walk further than 500 yards! :rotfl:

#4 Occupation (if legal) I work in a travel agency.

#5 What do you want to achieve from a healthier body / lifestyle? I just want my clothes to fit properly - everything seems a little too tight and uncomfortable!

#6 If you could celebrate with anything when you reach/ed goal, what would it be...or what would it have been? New York. Ive been before but DH has never been!

Hmm, maybe I should tell you more about me...I love to talk, I Love Love Love the Twilight series and have made it my personal one woman mission to force everyone I know to read the books. Ive told them if they don't we will no longer have anything to talk about.
Ive got a strange sense of humour - some people find me funny, some don't - most importantly, I crack myself up and spend most of the day laughing at myself!
Finally, Im very clumsy. I have at least one stupid accident or fall a week! :rotfl:
Yeah!!! Did you see the picture of the kids in front of the castle I posted yesterday??? Notice anything???:woohoo: :lovestruc

I am so glad you are here....I would love your prescense...:worship:
:welcome:

Dawn-Loved all the trip pictures! it looks like you all had fun.
Good time was had by all...
My parents left this morning :sad2: The house seems empty with just Little D and I. :sad2: But, it was so nice to see them. It will be much harder for them to get down here than it used to because of my brother's situation (He just had a nasty divorce, he has 3 kids, and also is without a license until Jan 2010 since he got a DUI. He's not a drinker. Went home one night and had a couple beers, went out to get something to eat, got pulled over for something else and ended up with a DUI.Ugh. So my parents have to drive him alot and my mom watches his kids when he has them. He is also in near financial ruin. And his ex just had another baby with the guy she cheated on my brother with)
I am glad he has a great family to work through this with...he needs that and it sounds like you all are helping how you can...not dragging him down further like some would have...

I don't know if I have talked about it on here or not, but the main reason DD and I are going up early is so that Delena can meet her cousin and I can see the niece that I haven't seen in almost 3 years. SIL just went through a hideous divorce and custody battle with her ex, who was abusive physically and mentally. He hit her while she was PG with my niece. So, pretty much we haven't seen her for 3 years. She just turned 4 years old. They are pretty much splitting custody now, so SIL gets her today for her week, so if we waited until tuesday when DH comes up, we'd only be able to see her for a day. So, Delena and I are going up early to spend some extra time with her.

I hope everyone has a good day. I hope to shred and get a short run in while DD naps.

Amy

That is a tough spot...to want to protect someone who does not want to leave...I do not envy the years you have missed but I hope this will be a fresh start for her and your relationship...yeah for cousin pics!

Annnnd...Kat/Steph...what is this reading on the computer of which you speak..do tell...but that may crimp me reading in the tub..can you imagine me either electrocuting myself or having it go in and end up ruined....???That would totally happen.....:sad2:

Yeah!!! Did you see the picture of the kids in front of the castle I posted yesterday??? Notice anything???:woohoo: :lovestruc

I am so glad you are here....I would love your prescense...:worship:

I most certainly did notice - I was so happy! :cool1: I showed DH and I was all 'Sheffield United Baby, Woohoo!' I love the picture!

New Moon - I was almost late for work twice because I couldn't put the book down!

Thanks again for all the welcomes, Im going to like it here I can tell already!

Kelly - Welcome. You love Twilight, I love you. Sorted!

Lisa - HOMG, you are the champion! Way to go, girl!!!

Steph - Don't kids understand that this is a very bad time for them to get sick? Silly kids!

Dawn - laughed out loud at the Dear Abby comment. Too funny. I've done that, too.

Gang - just a quick pop in. Will go back and actually read. Later. My BIL is here from Ireland (his lovely wife arrives this weekend). It's been ages since they were here for the holidays, although if you remember we went on the cruise with them in August. Well, I like her now, so I'm looking forward to seeing her.

Today I woke up, went to the gym (Emily seemed like she could survive an hour in childcare) and did spin. Then I came home and ate responsibly. I am seriously loving this WW Momentum. And I feel like Erika - exercise keeping me on point? Who the heck AM I? Flashlight? Please?

Spending the day running around and dinner tonight with the inlaws. Hope you are all having a good day!

Kelly - You're BELLA! Charmingly clumsy! I love it!!!

You have to tell us what you think of the movie. We IM. We can all chat about it and not spoil it for Lisa or Paula or Dawn.

Um, newlywed. Pictures. 'kay? I am super into weddings.

Eek. Sorry about Emily Liz.

I have a book I love about exercise. It's called Fit or Fat. I read it years ago and it changed my thinking. It's interesting.

That's amazing that you went straight to the gym.

Lisa, do you have an author for the book? And thanks - I feel pretty amazing. Like, back to where I was. Working it. I forgot it was work. Silly, huh?

Oh and I was the "Biggest Loser" for my team again. For our last week of the competition. Brenda, our weightkeeper, is working on the overall numbers for the entire BL.

That is sooo awesome!

And, PM. Replying. Just need time to. Nothing more than that. :goodvibes

Last night I saw a brief BL clip with Jillian (Access Hollywood, or Extra, or something like that)...she offered her "tips" for not gaining weight thru the holidays. She said "if it didn't have a mother, or grow out of the earth, I dunno....DON'T EAT IT??"

ummm....did my cookies have a mother? :confused3 ok, maybe not, but my WINE came from the earth...:goodvibes

I heard her say that too. BUT. If she hadn't been so nasty and mouthy, they wouldn't have had anything to edit IN, now would they? :confused3

When they showed her daily schedule on the finale - up at 4:00am, gym, work, gym, home 8:30-9:00...do it again...and then she was so upset that she only lost 2 pounds in 7 weeks....HELLO...doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that she is over-training. And under-sleeping...and probably under EATING as well. No one can keep that schedule. It's not realistic.

Sad to say, but I bet she's one of those contestants who puts the weight back on. I honestly don't think she's LEARNED much....not because no one told her, but because she doesn't listen.

Cookies for sure have a mother. We create them! :lmao:

Also, yes. Vicky is gaining it all back. She thinks she knows it all. Poor thing.

Thanks everyone for the welcomes :goodvibes

No Twilight spoilers from me, my lips are sealed! The film opens here tomorrow so Im hoping I finish work early enough to go and see it, if not I'll have to go Saturday instead of tidying the house ready for Christmas! Priorities!

I would ditch housekeeping for the movie! I've seen in three times. Yep. And I admitted that.

I am trying to catch up on some stuff at work today so this has to be short...

Oh, I finished New Moon last night. :)

Ok, we have to talk. Hmm. I will try to call you sometime!

Steph, shhhh.. ;)

Boss is headed to WDW tomorrow so I have been trying to make sure I am up to speed since I am alone here next week. Our Christmas party is tonight, though, so I am leaving early (5ish) to go home and get ready.

Liz, looking forward to it. Free from 3-5 or so.

I'll take being Bella if it gets me Edward! ;)

And wedding photos you say:

Me and my dad relaxing before going in:

And from the Hen Party - me and two of my bridesmaids striking a pose:

If it doesn't have a momma or come from the earth don't eat it...

Yeah...and I've been told that dropping a cookie on the ground before eating it, does NOT mean that it came "from the earth" :confused3 Sheesh. All these RULES.

Steph - good luck with the furniture dilemma...

Actually, Paula...it's ME that's looking for furniture. And, no, I was not aware of the microsuede durability issues....

I think you did a great thing by waiting to make the purchase...not a quick decession...but this is the same lady who bought a timeshare in Cancun...

:rotfl: Yeah, you got me there....Oh and btw...we went to Isla Mujares (I'm sure I just butchered that spelling :rolleyes1 )...loved it.

:wave2: :tiptoe:
Uh oh, busted for Lurking!

Welcome, Kelly! :goodvibes

I Love Love Love the Twilight series and have made it my personal one woman mission to force everyone I know to read the books. Ive told them if they don't we will no longer have anything to talk about.

Oh brother. Not ANOTHER one of you "Twilight" crazies  The gal that I work with....she told me today that if I don't read the book, she's going to bring it to work and READ IT OUTLOUD. :headache: Maybe. Just maybe. After the holidays. MAYBE. (if Lyz, Liz & Kat all run a 5K :rotfl2: )

Today I woke up, went to the gym (Emily seemed like she could survive an hour in childcare) and did spin. Then I came home and ate responsibly. I am seriously loving this WW Momentum. And I feel like Erika - exercise keeping me on point? Who the heck AM I? Flashlight? Please?

Wow. Whatever has come over you....please share some with me! ;)

Lisa...BL again. you ROCK.

Amy... on the whole "family" thing....

Off to the bank. Seth lost his debit card. :headache: I've got to go sign papers so he can get another one....

Nancy, I have a microsuede couch and two chaise lounges. Have had them for 3+ years now and don't see any problems? I love love love them.

Also, I am not the one to talk you out of big purchases, not after the TV. Although it did cost quite a bit less than half of your furniture estimate!

And just read the book already. I was resisting too and just gave in. Believe me, it's worth it.

Hi All--

WOW, busy day! I have not read yet, so please don't be offended that I am not replying to you. I will get caught up tonight.

Had a lunch party this afternoon, and then have holiday parties Friday night, Saturday night, all day Sunday. It's gonna be a rough one, I tell ya.

Lyz called today and all is well. They are getting it all in.

:wave2: :tiptoe:

WOO HOO! Welcome, Kelly! My youngest daughter is Kelly as well...that and the fact that you are a Twilight fan means you are in like Flynn already! :goodvibes

Glad to have you here! And Liz and I are right there with you in that 15-ish pounds arena.

Ok, gotta start getting dinner ready and homework checked and on and on...

Actually, Paula...it's ME that's looking for furniture. And, no, I was not aware of the microsuede durability issues....

oops.... my bad....

sorry...

OK - off to work on a post with some pictures from my trip....

Paula

I need to test a picture because they look huge on my preview... so here is a teaser photo from the trip with the rest to follow later tonight when I get home... (where I can resize photos if need be...)

Oh, I finished New Moon last night. :)

No rest for the weary, Kat. Move on to Eclipse. It is my favorite!

Thanks everyone for your kind words about the weight. My success is because of your ongoing support. Lisa--I definitely agree with you here. This thread keeps me going when I want to quit. With the running...like, I want to be done and then I think, no way...Liz is weighing in today and if she can face the scale, I can run one more mile. Or whomever happens to pop into my head.

Today I woke up, went to the gym (Emily seemed like she could survive an hour in childcare) and did spin. Then I came home and ate responsibly. I am seriously loving this WW Momentum. And I feel like Erika - exercise keeping me on point? Who the heck AM I? Flashlight? Please?

Hope the visit is going well! And yeah, there is just nothing like a bone-crushing work-out! Love it!

As for me--tomorrow is my long run. Yikes. And my Sunday party that I am hosting got moved to Saturday due to an incoming storm. That means I only have tomorrow..TOMORROW...to clean my house, do all of the cooking and prep, go for a long run, and post final grades for the semester. And I can't get any of that done tonight because it is conference night. And I have to do it all during the day tomorrow because I have a party tomorrow night. I am SO screwed.

Lisa and Amy--replies to your PMs are coming...just don't have enough time these days!

OK so here is a quick group of photos and a few stories from my trip…

Since there are some new folks joining us, here is a quick recap of the trip… My parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this year and at their request, my sister and I organized a family vacation to WDW to mark the occasion. The four of us stayed at the Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa in a two bedroom villa (and officially spoiling me thus preventing me from staying at anything less than a deluxe resort ever again… if only I could afford DVC now….). We spent a week covering all of the parks, parades, fireworks, etc and even made it to a few off property resorts (blasphemy I know…). The week played out like this:

Tue: arrival day, spent the night at Downtown Disney shopping with dinner at Captain Jacks

Wed: Magic Kingdom, dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern w/ my buddy Goofy

DSCN0769.jpg

Thur: Animal Kingdom in the AM (where I met a handsome meerkat who flirted shamelessly with me) and Magic Kingdom in the PM for the MVMCP. Lunch / Dinner at Tony’s Town Square Restaurant where we scored the infamous porch table for the afternoon parade…

DSCN0761.jpg

Fri: Hollywood Studios with the Fantasmic dining package at Hollywood Brown Derby (where my mother shamelessly flirts with a troublesome pair of chipmunks… she even ran down the street chasing them…)

DSCN0840.jpg

Sat: Epcot with the Candlelight Processional dining package at Le Cellier (yummm). I meet up with what my family now refers to as “the girls” first at Mission Space and later at the Boardwalk. We celebrate Treynor’s 18th birthday with a yummy cake, spend some time with Dan, Dawn and her family and then head to Jellyrolls where I get talked into tequila shots…

DSCN0948-1.jpg

Sun: off to visit Shamu and the gang at Seaworld… the shows are awesome, but the Polar Express experience is a huge letdown and ruins the day… The family heads to Raglan Road for dinner and I am off to meet the girls at Narcoosee’s… tiara firmly in place…

DSCN1076.jpg

Mon: off to Universal (which has like no people in it) and meet up with a crazy lion and some mischievous penguins… oh yeah, my sister and I hit the Magic Kingdom for a few last rides during the extra magic hours…. We leave soon after thanks to the packs of rude Pop Warner cheerleaders that have invaded…

DSCN1112-1.jpg

Tue: breakfast at Chef Mickey’s followed by a last ride in Mickey’s Philharmagic and then fly home… exhausted, but happy to be home…

Wed: no work – just sleep and recovery time…

Great pics, Paula!!! I share your opinion of the polar express thing at SW. We did it last year with Delena, thinking it would be super cute for her first xmas, but were disappointed.

Hi guys...Paula love the pics...you are really as cute as a bug...and look so much happier in these pics...

We liked the Polar Express thing...but I knew nothing about it before we walked on...had no clue it was there so I was not expecting something...

So now I am curious..

Amy..Paula..what were you told or what did you expect? I usually am dissapointed when something I hope huge for is not what I expect...so sine I had no clue...it was okay...not fantastic...but okay...

E - you are certifiable...crazy lady...moving a dinner party and still running...you are our crazy, athletic, goddess...:worship: :worship:

Kelly - looove your pics...what ahandsome man you have...and look at you...you look 6' tall and slender as a willow...stunning....

Paula!!!! Love, love, love the pictures. Jellyrolls......we have always had such fun there.

So. We bought a chair & ottoman. Found exactly what we wanted tonight. exactly. right style, right fabric...right price, right availablity. It was totally meant to be. We pick it up Saturday. SO excited.

Stephen and I had decided earlier that this is what we would do for "us" for Christmas...instead of other gifts, we would get something for "us"...so I'm really happy that we found what we were looking for :goodvibes

Good luck tomorrow, Erika! We are expecting 8-14" of snow tomorrow afternoon/night. As long as the kids have at least a 1/2 day of school tomorrow...I'll be happy...another storm predicited for Sunday...
