In Search of my Body...Not The One I ate...#3 "Crowning Goddesses As We Go"

EriKa - I so totally do this.

And you are right. The people with money do look the best. I think it's evolution. We all have our places in life. And when you get out of place it wreaks havoc with everyone. The place jumper and the people you are trying to jump in with. Say you are skinny, and gain weight, well the heaver ladies are just as confused as the skinny ladies when a chubster joins their ranks.

My "mini rant" aside, I am in CONSTANT body competition with everyone else. With the exception of my daughters, sisters and momma. Everyone else gets my full on inspection for rank and file. Where are they and where am I. Will I do this when I'm skinny (notice I didn't say "if")? Yes I will, I'll just be basking in the glow of my placement.

This doesn't mean I don't like people or sympathize with their particular situation - but I just want to be at the top.

How many people are allowed at the top anyway?

I am SO GLAD that I am not alone in this craziness!

Only us cool kids :cool2:

WORD!

Ok...now YOU are ME :rolleyes1

Ok, so it seems that I am suffering from multiple personality disorder. :lmao: As long as the other personalities are Lyz and Nancy, I'll take it. :thumbsup2

Still swamped... will check in later...

Sorry you had such a crap day! Hope you get some rest tonight! Just think...only 15 more days!

If they have to be eaten quickly, I say run.

WORD.

Cause THEM I love  My SIL makes the BEST goat milk cheese curd. OMG. I just eat it with a spoon....

I am totally taking back that personality comment from before. :rotfl2: YUCK!

Nancy, nooooo. Don't join them.

My girl speaks the truth!

For the love of all that's good in this world, can we stop talking about cheese curd? CHEESE CURD is GOOD? Omg, next you'll be telling me you hate Vera Bradley. :rotfl2:

Thank GOD someone is thinking rationally around here! Enough with the curd already!

OMG woman! DO NOT JOKE with Liz about the Vera. I am scared for you. :rotfl2: :lmao:

Crazy Town, pop. 1

Oh honey, don't worry. I will move there with you so you will not be lonely. :rotfl:

Well that's a lovely reason. :lovestruc

Lisa...I have to say this because I have been thinking it for the last few days. This is what I totally love about you. You always, and I mean ALWAYS, find something positive and loving to say to everyone. You have such a kind spirit. You are just a good person, and I am glad I know you. I need more good people in my life, you know?

Hi all -
We love fried cheese curds here in MN - and it's usually white cheese here - yellow not my fave - but the only way I like them is hot and fresh from the fryer at the state fair...so it is a one time a year pilgrimage...a mecca of oohey... goohey... cheesy... greasy... goodness...

And I am not gonna push you over the edge Liz..I hope...but I have no clue who Vera Bradley is either...Vera Wang I think I have heard of... :thumbsup2

But I bet if I name off a whole boat load of soccer God's...you may not know them either...or the kind of purses they sling! :lmao:

Nancy - I am so excited...Vermont and snow = snuggling parents coming to visit!

Lisa - I agree with E - kind spirits deserve to desend upon you because you earn them each day!

Omg, next you'll be telling me you hate Vera Bradley. :rotfl2:

No - I do like VB. Not as avid a collector as you are, but still....I have a few..;)

Crazy Town, pop. 1

Does that make you, like...mayor of Crazy Town? :confused3 :rotfl2:

YAY to Nancy and her family! This is SO super exciting! Keeping my fingers crossed for the ROTC scholarship! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

thanks. Got my fingers crossed too. Who even knows when we'll hear on that...could be MONTHS yet....

Ok, i have to get off my butt, I wish i had a jillian here screamin at me so i'd move! :goodvibes

(ummm...I could scream if you want...just offerin'...;) )

Don't make me come there tear off your arm and hit you with it!!! - Jillian Micheals.

Ok - ONE more word on cheese curds...I'm not talking "fried"....I'm talking FRESH cheese. More like when you buy the fresh mozzerella balls at the deli...soft, smooth, white cheese. Perhaps we aren't talking about the same thing. :confused3

OMG, fried cheese? People actually do that? That is like saying "I'd like some fried fat please..." I have to run 5 miles just for thinking about that! :rotfl2:

Welcome to Crazy Town. Pop 1, although we hope to have 2 soon.

I am the Mayor. We require all residents to carry Vera Bradley.

Weather today is Crazy Town: cold with a side of loony.

Enjoy your stay!

And if you choose to visit Crazy Town, you must first contact the Mayor so that she can send you to your local VB location to see if your store has the VB that she needs so that you can bring it to her in Crazy Town. ;)

Yes, the Mayor and I shopped for Vera together today, over the phone. And I saw something and she was like, "buy it for me. Now. Please." :rotfl2: :lmao: It was hilarious. Hey, at least she said please, right? :rotfl2:

Nancy, as the Mayor of Crazy Town, I am pleased to extend to you the pass!

:rotfl:

I am trying to eat more points during the week instead of one big old point fest once a week. Both ways work, I know. I'm just hungry lately! Maybe I need different bc?

Also, spending tonight and tomorrow going through all of Em's baby clothes. Tissues at hand.

Hi everyone...

Well, what a day this has been. Work is getting wackier as the week goes on, the meeting I was running this afternoon had major technical snafus and had to be cut short, and then I had to run up to the real Saratoga Springs (not the SSR - that's in a few weeks) for a cooking class I signed up for (and absolutely loved). Needless to say, I am tired, but feeling good.

My friend is feeling better. I talked to him this evening and the stress test went well. He'll get the results and the treatment options tomorrow. One more night of holding our breaths, but I think he will be looking at the stents option as opposed to the scary bypass option. I'll keep you posted. I did do a bit of stress eating today, but will nip that now... can't let that get out of control...

So - you all have been busy this afternoon so I'll respond to a few posts that made me laugh. I love you all and Stacey - stay warm and take it easy when driving in the snow... I am with you, love the stuff when it is falling, but hate to drive in it...

Ok - that last post was a really hard post for me...hard to focus. VERY hard. I'm an emotional nutcase right now!

I'm happy, I'm sad. I'm excited, and nervous. I'm relieved and scared. I'm elated and devestated.

WHY?

This is why.

The letter came in the mail today. The long anticipated letter. You know...the BIG envelope, not the dreaded small one.

Yes - he did it. My son was accepted at Norwich University.

(although, we are still waiting on the Army ROTC stuff - if the $$$ doesn't come thru, I don't know WHAT we are going to do....:scared: )

Nancy - I am so excited for your son!!! I am keeping my fingers crossed on the ROTC stuff. I remember my parents' reaction when I went to school and it was just as you described. Scary and exciting all at the same time. Talk to others who have gone through it. It will help you prepare for what is coming.

For the love of all that's good in this world, can we stop talking about cheese curd? CHEESE CURD is GOOD? Omg, next you'll be telling me you hate Vera Bradley. :rotfl2:

Even if you do, just don't tell me, okay? ;)

Nancy, again so excited!

Lisa, just not on board with this Frenchie Canadian food. But still love you!

Lyz, when you said "on top" I thought of ANTM. "Wanna be on top..."

I bought a new VB for the trip. Mini hipster in Yellow Bird. And new pj's. Because cute pj's are a must!

Oh, and weighed in. Up 1.2. Not bad, seeing as I lost so much last week. But still. The fat, it had better watch its back. I'm coming after it. Paula, can I borrow your angry eyes?

You got it girlfriend... I'll send them right out to you...

Can I apply for citizenship... I have two Vera Bradley bags (one yellow bird hipster (not the mini size) and one Resort Mediterranean Blue mini hipster. Both have matching change purses.... As for being crazy enough - have you talked to me recently?

Thank you for your consideration...
Goof...

Thanks for the update. I have my fingers crossed for the least scary test results.

Welcome to Crazy Town! We are pleased to have you. Also, we heartily approve of your color choices in Vera Bradley. Can't wait to see the new one in 15 days!!!

Mornin' all! Am I really the first one on? :confused3

Nancy, as the Mayor of Crazy Town, I am pleased to extend to you the pass!

Is that kinda like being welcomed to Munchkin Land?

I had to run up to the real Saratoga Springs (not the SSR - that's in a few weeks) for a cooking class I signed up for (and absolutely loved).

ooohhhh How FUN! :yay: What did you make today??

My friend is feeling better.

Good news!

Nancy - I am so excited for your son!!!

Thanks. Me too. Ya know, you go thru all the CRAP years with them, finally get them to be people that you LIKE and enjoy spending time with...and how do they repay you? By leaving for college. :headache: Dang! It's just not FAIR :goodvibes

Wicked day in the works for me today. Headed to the gym, then to work. Followed by a "holiday shopping marketplace" tonight from 5-9 where SIL and I have a booth for my soap & her cheese....I'm missing dress rehersal for drama tonight - but they had a run-thru last night, and I think we've addressed all the necessary costume issues. (I THINK.)

Have a great day all...I'm continuing to track, and continuing to hate it. I feel like a kid who has to have her homework checked every night because I just can't get my sh!t together enough to do it on my own!

OH I FORGOT! (typical ;) )

KAT - I think you've probably posted this before - not sure Lyz would let this by....but can you tell me your sausage pumpkin soup recipe???? I'd love to try it!!!

Man, I NEVER get to wake up the thread anymore! :rotfl2:

Good luck with your crazy day, Nancy! And you know how I feel about tracking! All things considered, I would rather chew glass...

Which reminds me...I haven't been posting my food. I will start again today.

Today is busy for me too...gym, volunteer in Kel's class, then up to campus for some meetings, finish up Christmas shopping on the way home from campus, and then mountains of grading.

Hi Everyone...

Man did I sleep like a rock last night. I think the exhaustion from the week has finally hit because I so did not want to wake up this morning... But, I'm here...

The cooking class was awesome... it focused on simple techniques like making a roux, stock, some knife skills, etc. Very hands on oriented which was cool. So we made the following:
the most yummy chicken stock I have ever had which was then used in most of the recipies we made.

potato leek soup
gravy
cranberry and cornbread stuffing
traditional bread stuffing
mashed potatoes
chicken marsala (to learn about deglazing)
and for dessert - some quick apple turnovers...

I tasted the stuffings, the soup, the gravy and the marsala. I brought the turnover home and gave it to my mom (who loved it). Can't wait for the January class schedule to come out so I can take another one.

It was very relaxing and a nice distraction from what is going on at work and with my friend in Boston.

OK - off to get some work done before my first meeting of the day.

Talk to you all later,
Paula

Mayor Liz - thanks for approving my citizen application...:rotfl2: glad to be a part of the community...

Morning all...

Today I am going to keep Baylor home...he literally slept from the time he got home from school yesterday (3 p.m.) to now minus about one hour I made him get up and eat...no fever...just exhausted...he went to school the whole day yesterday and I think he is wiped out...calling burn clinic this morning to make sure they do not want to see him...

I have a great pumpkin sausage soup recipe...I will post it later...all 3 kids looove it...mine is from a re-start puch test that was developed from dieticians working with post gastric patients...so loads of real sour cream etc..thought is cut out all carbs so you can change it with low fat choices and it would be better for Weight Watchers....

Nancy & E - I do like fresh curds as well...but welcome to the midwest and anything you can think of get's deep fried at the state fair...including SPAM! :scared1:

Liz - now I am going to have to google Vera Bradley and see what all the fuss is about...

Paula - sorry I missed your call last night - will try you today...

And for you Goddesses of the north in the snow areas...we wish we had some...high of 20 degrees today and nothing but brown /greeny grass to look at...I say if it is gonna be this cold...then give me something pretty to look at...

Other than that...going grocery shopping today...will be cooking meals from the pouch test...I will post them for you...Dan had the surgery...I did nt..but it is a Atkins/South Beach kind of program and I need a jolt of no carbs right now...I am only up about 2 pounds from before Halloween and Baylor's surgery...but at the hospital I did ot eat the best and can you beleive it is hard to be health concious with what they have for you to pick from at a hospital? Seriously...talked with the nurses and docs...and they sais health care professionals often eat the worst of anyone...esp. at the hospital...:confused3

So we shall see how this gos and will be posting...

My right foot has been killing me lately...my mother has planters faschitis (sp?) and I am going to cry if this is what I am getting...anyone know much about it? Loosing weight will obviously help it...

Hope you all have a great day and a quick question of the day....

What would you be professionally if the sky was the limmit and you could achieve it...and why?

Steph - one of my roommates in university - actually the one with the lovely husband used to eat cheese curds right out of the bag.
MMmm I did that about two weeks ago!
Lyz and I will not be in sumo suits. We have been working it and we are goddesses.

6 miles. Yo.
6 Miles what a goddess!:worship: :worship:

OOO Vermont let's see Norwich is about 2 hours from Me! Exit 5 on I-89! I drive by there all the time when I head home!

Yep rubbery.
Do they squeak? :lmao:
yup rubbery and squeaky goodness

Lisa -

1 - we don't move b/c all of our close family is in new york (this isn't actually as bad as it could be, his family lives up in the Adirondacks!)

2 - i actually LOVE the snow, however i HATE driving in it, and since i have to drive everyday....welll.... boo for snow:goodvibes
Where o where in the adirondacks do they live? I live there too! Well close enough to them I live on Lake champlain the Northern portion of the lake, well not all the way north!
AHHH yes the snow! Looks pretty hate driving in it to! I always end up on the interstate with the 18 wheelers flying by me! Not fun!

Dawn I am glad to hear that Baylor is doing better!

Liz~ OMG you have to come work at my hospital there is a lady (RN) who works on the OB unit and she hands out VB bags like candy on halloween. I have yet to make friends with her! THat is on my list to do! Every person that works on the floor has one! I may need to change jobs!

Lisa~ I had a poutine yesterday! Not a good one but it was ok!

Ok off to pay bills!

Morning all...

can you beleive it is hard to be health concious with what they have for you to pick from at a hospital? Seriously...talked with the nurses and docs...and they sais health care professionals often eat the worst of anyone...esp. at the hospital...:confused3

Tell me about it! I eat horrible at the hospital! One the food is High in salt to give it flavor! and then we are limited to 30 minutes for a lunch break. Our lab is a 7 minute walk to the cafe and then if you get anything that needs to be cooked then you are looking at another 7 minutes. So now you have 9 minutes to eat and digest your food! So we end up eating pizza or chicken strips or cheeseburgers or subs (which take longer to make as they make them fresh) There is a salad bar but it cost you and arm and a leg to eat from it! Every time I eat from there it cost me about $8 for a small salad!

Food for me yesterday!
Breakfast ~ yogurt
Lunch~ Tuna on toast and POUTINE
Dinner ~ Chicken strips mashed potatoes and carrots coke zero
snack~ Pretzels & water
Late night snack~ glass of sangria

AMY ~ How are you making out in the cold Vermont climate????

Hi all!

I am pretty much totally frozen. And I don't like it at all.

Happy to report I got in 4 miles yesterday in 46 minutes, which is record for me!! Best run I have had in weeks. And it was on the dreadmill. :woohoo: Unfortunately this morning, My back is killing me. I think I pulled something carrying DD up and down the stairs. In FL we don't have stairs in houses. I plan to just do a little stretching/pilates later.

Had a mini thanksgiving dinner yesterday. Yummy!!

DD's name is pronounced like Delaney, except with the short a sound at the end.I actually wanted Delaney but it is too rhyme-y with our last name.

DD and I will be back in FL on saturday. I'll be able to get back to normal posting then!!

Cheers! Amy
