In Search of my Body...Not The One I ate...#3 "Crowning Goddesses As We Go"

And Lyz - a big thank you to you. I've wanted to eat and eat - which I did the first day. And smoke. And here I am coming down from my third heavy workout.

The "no smoking" has worked so far. Thank you. I'll have the feelings at some point. But exercise is pushing them down - not food or cigs. A lesser of evils. A good thing.

Amy - thank you for letting out that you have thought of cigs in difficult times too. Thanks. It still kills me how one can be a non-smoker for twelve flippin' years and this can come. Life. Interesting it is.

I just whizzed my way through what I missed...

Dawn, hope Baylor feels better soon.

Lisa, so sorry about your friend.

E, glad you are having a great time. Someday I will get time to browse through the pictures.

Loved the halloween pics.

My weekend was, interesting. Very non-dietary. Hangover on Sunday was legendary. Back on the wagon with a vengeance tomorrow.

Oh, and I voted already. Friday. Gotta love early voting. Evidently NC is a swing state this year, who knew?

Early voting freaks me out. It just seems wrong somehow.

I LOVE voting also. I just love it. It's so awesome that we can vote in elections without risking our lives. Like, soooo cool. Our sex, race, economic circumstances - none of it matters. We all get to vote. That rocks.

Anyhoo, had an amazing time with my friends, ate my way into a food coma, don't feel bad about it. You know why? I am a skinny girl, and I can rebound from that. No biggie. I lost almost 80lbs - one weekend is nothing.

Back on the wagon! Maybe not tomorrow - I have some champagne chilling and an election night dinner to consider.

Ok, I am online mostly and will try to chat, read, post pics, and tend to sick Emily who has a bad head cold. See you all very soon, my friends. :goodvibes

Liz-I was thinking the same thing about voting. It does totally rock. I am excited to take DD with me tomorrow. Hope Emily feels better soon.

Nancy-empty stomach, glass of wine...maximum impact :rolleyes1 ...I totally hear you on this (and the Pb and J thing. I do the same thing, except I don't spit it out!). It is so nice to have a glass of wine before dinner. I tried to make a no booze until friday rule. I already had 2 glasses tonight. I'm sure I'll have more tomorrow while watching election results. :rolleyes1 what can I say I totally :lovestruc my beer and wine.

Kat- A legendary hangover? Any good stories? Hope you are feeling better.

Dawn-

Lisa-Good for you for no cig's. :goodvibes I am worried for myself this weekend, I am going away for a girls weekend and there might be the opportunity for a bit of social smoking. Ugh. I have to admit, I do :lovestruc clove cig's.

Paula, thanks for the Dawn update.

Everyone, :grouphug:

Hi guys. Super tired here. Going to bed early.

Liz Kat Paula Sarah - glad you all had awesome weekends. You deserve it! (Liz - loved your skinny girl rebound comment.)

Lisa - Yay for not smoking! And for using the urge and working out! That is goddess crown for sure.

Paula - did the pool work out your kinks?

Amy & Nancy - you boozers :rotfl: . My downfall is needing hot food fast when I'm hungry, that translates into fast food. Not good.

Liz - yes, I don't like the thought of voting early either. Now, I might change my mind in the morning.

Food for the day:
Cheese stick first thing
bkfst - left over spagetti and miniature frozen snicker bar
snakc - 5 carrot stickes and 2 tbsp guacamole
lunch - 2 cheeseburger shots from BK (can I get a holla) and a piece of cake
dinner - 2 servings of lasagana (smallish) 1/2 piece of garlic bread and slice of peanut butter pie.

Night. Busy morning. Vote then dr with sis. I'll check in when I can.

Early voting freaks me out. It just seems wrong somehow.

Me too. I mean...why call it "Election Day"....when it's become more like "Election 3 weeks?" :confused3 Absentee ballots, yes...early voting? I just can't embrace that...

I LOVE voting also. I just love it. It's so awesome that we can vote in elections without risking our lives. Like, soooo cool. Our sex, race, economic circumstances - none of it matters. We all get to vote. That rocks.

It is an awesome thing. To be able to publically display our political preferences with lawn signs, buttons, bumper stickers...whatever...and not have to worry about getting arrested, or shot, or...???? We are darned lucky to live in a democratic society.

Yeah - I don't know WHAT I'm going to do tomorrow. I may have to *trick* myself and drink diet sprite with a splash of cranberry in my wine glass...:confused3

Lisa- nice job on the exercise and the NO SMOKING!

My food and exersize (honesty- that was my goal...right?)

Exercise:
30 minutes on stationary bike - "hill plus" program on level 15 :scared:
30 minutes strength and stretching - focus on abs & shoulders mostly.

Food:
B- kashi go lean, dried blueberries, 1 % milk
Sn - fruit/yogurt smoothie
L - fiber one bar, salad w/ 3 oz. roasted chicken breast & fat free rasp. vine.
Sn - popcorn - light...

(this is where I go awry....:sad2:...not the best choices )

D - part 1 - egg sandwich on light eng. muffin - (w/ 2 eggs, 1/2 slice deli ham & a smidge of shredded cheddar)

D - part 2 (at 9:00, after drama club) - 2 small slices (squares) of home-made veggie pizza
Sn - 1/2 c. light ice cream

well - not perfect, but honest....and definitely not enough water today. :sad2:

So OMG I had a HUGE post! Needless to say there was some DATA ERROR which told me to refresh and stupid me sat here and refreshed about 6 times and it DID NOTHING!
Ok Here is the low down on my weekend~
worked Saturday night felt kinda BLAH
Sun am get text from Sam she is sick @ friends house wants to come home.. I got up and hhhm ran for bathroom I am sick also!
I go to church freeze! shower and then to work i got kicked out of work after an hour do to a fever! I come home and plopped on couch till 9 pm and finally eat and keep everything in.
Today Sam and I slept all day! Finally I am starting to feel better!

Lyz right there with you on the candy coma! I even brought it into work just to get it out of the house!
I had comments to everyone can't remember them now! :scared1:
Stayed in point range today I was 1.5 points over which I have the extra points for the week anywho!
Ok back to playing Fashion wars on myspace!

Hi--OMG, having an awesome and amazing time. Only crappy point is the lack of internet.

I cannot even count the drinks. Seriously. And the food! SOOOO yummy. Better than anything we had a Disney.

Today...ran 4 miles, played an hour of tennis, sailed for an hour, did a cardio kixk boxing class. All of this by 12:30. Then ate and drank for the rest of the day. Oh...except for when I went on the Trapeze. Way up high. Drunk. Did flips and such.

Super sunny today. Not too hot, but good hot. Kids are loving it and J is having a blast. All is good.

VOTING--omg, I love it too! This is something most of my friends make fun of me for, so I am so glad that you are into it too! And as women, yes, we must always vote. And if you don't know why, you have to read about the suffragette movement. Once you do that, you will never not vote again. We owe it to those women. Power of the Sisterhood. Word.

And election day...this is my SuperBowl. I swear...I plan it all out ahead of time, etc. Have special snacks and drinks, etc. Weird, I know. But it's my thing.

Try to post tomorrow, but more likely on Weds. when we are back home.

Wakey Wakey.... Its time to get up....

Good morning all... Well, I arrived at work at the alarming time of 4:50AM for my rescheduled shut down.... Thankfully, everyone arrived and all went smoothly... no need for my angry eyes yet today. We'll have to wait and see if that holds true for the remainder of the day.

Please be sure to get out and vote!!!! Can't wait to head for the polls later today and exercise my right. For those who think that it doesn't matter, remember that the state of Florida was won by a margin of about 105 or so votes by in 2000... Every vote matters....

OK - I didn't get to post last night thanks to some computer issues... In trying to clean the printer, my sister inadvertantly leaned on the computer desk and something broke which caused it to lean and my scrambling to get the computer off of it before it collapsed. It was quite funny at the time... Of course, now we need to find a new piece of furniture to put the computer back on and don't want to spend the money on it so close to our Disney trip... Hopefully, all will be hooked up in a temporary location later today...

I did go to my JC appointment last night and as expected gained 1.7 pounds. We talked about why I am self sabatoging my diet and Liz, I thought of you when my consultant asked me what I saw when I looked in the mirror. I told her that I could quite believe that it was me, but that while I was happy with what the progress I saw, I still wasn't happy with the results and that I wanted to do more. So, she has me journaling this week to keep myself accountable. I am carrying a small notebook with me and writing down everything I eat. (and don't worry, I'll post here as well...). Here's hoping it works...

OK - need to get some work done... I'll talk to you all soon.
Paula

Lyz - didn't make it to the pool last night... couldn't really lift my arms over my head without wincing.... am stretching and going to do some walking today to see if I can loosen things up...

Mornin' Ladies and Gent!

Kiddos have the day off from school today - so I'm headed out for a run with DH and DS. Should be interesting! We are going to a local nature preserve- and *hopefully* I won't get lost! They'll ditch me within the first 5 minutes. DH worries when he can't see where I am, so he circles back down the trail to find me. While that may be a sweet, thoughtful, considerate, etc,etc thing to do...I find it totally annoying. :confused3 I mean - who needs to be constantly reminded that they can't keep up? ;) Of course, being 15, Nate would prefer that I'm lost in the woods sometimes!

An over-achiever even on vacation! :worship:

Then ate and drank for the rest of the day. Oh...except for when I went on the Trapeze. Way up high. Drunk. Did flips and such.

The Flying Walenda's! WHEEEEEEE :lmao: :lmao: But really - isn't there some law against trapeezing under the influence? Too much intoxicated spinning, swinging and flipping would cause me to BARF! (but then, I'd blame it on Steph's stomach bug!) :rotfl2:

And as women, yes, we must always vote. And if you don't know why, you have to read about the suffragette movement. Once you do that, you will never not vote again. We owe it to those women. Power of the Sisterhood. Word.

 It's really hard sometimes, isn't it? Maybe a "nit picky" question....but is it that you aren't HAPPY with the results, or you aren't SATISFIED yet? 'Cause I think it's possible to be HAPPY with what you have done so far, yet not feel like you are quite there yet, kwim? :confused3 You are an amazing woman who has accomplished many amazing things. Don't ever forget that!

k - off for my run - I'll check in with you all later....AFTER I vote :thumbsup2

Hi ya pals! I voted already. Woo Hoo - I only stood in line for 15 minutes.

Steph - sorry you have the epizudic at your home.

E - on the trapeeze. I hope your girls were watching. What an awesome mom you are.

Nancy - I'd find that whole back tracking to check on my annoying too.

Paula - early bird. I understand coming far but...
There is a button. Didn't you push it yet?;)

thanks for the kind words on the being happy vs. being satisfied debate... (and for the amazing woman comments... too sweet....:goodvibes ) that is so much better said than my words that I am stealing it and taking it as my own...

I am happy with my progress but I am not yet satisfied with the end result...

What a great statement.... I feel empowered now....

Love you Nancy....

Paula

Happy Election Day to you all!!!

And may the best black man win!!!:rotfl: :lmao: ;)

Couldn't resist. :rotfl:

I know I shouldn't joke on election day.......

Hey Steph,

Glad you got a chance to sleep and are feeling better. To me sleep is everything. A cure to wanting food and food and food. A cure to feeling sick. And one of my favourite things. Right up there with road trips Lyz.

And congrats on the loss regardless.

Lisa

Lisa - thanks for asking about my back... it is still a bit sore, but much better than yesterday. I didn't go to the pool last night, but I should be ready to go by tomorrow night.

For now - like most of life - it is all about one step at a time...

Have a good day!!!!
Paula

Fast catch up -
Kids all look cute for Halloween - love the Boardwalk pics esp...

Just posted on my trip report a summary of Baylor - please read if you want to know it all -

He is not good today - worse than yesterday - we are heading back to burn unit again - they may have to in-patient him at this point - he needs to walk but is in soo much pain all he does is cry the second his foot dangles...blood pressure and all on his burns...this is my non crier - he is the tough one and seeing him cry makes me hurt and soo mad..I just want to punch something right now...

I am up 2 pounds...not eating well...Baylor needs tons of animal protein to have the skin grow back - veggie protein not the same I guess...so peanut butter not as good as a burger...

Treyner is home with me today to help with Baylor - the HS is letting him be here - giving him homeowrk and all...it is impossible for me to lift Baylor - he weigh 115 and is my height and I need to look into getting help for physical therapy cause I can't take it with him...making him do something that I know he is hurting about is sooo hard...I also think a third party he will not feel the need to push back against as hard as he does with me....

He is to the point of frusteration - he struggles to do anything because of his hand being wrapped as well as his leg...he is an independent kid..always has wnted to do his own coat etc since he was 2...Treyner is being excellent with him...pushing him...challenging him..telling him to stop saying can't...

They doubled his pain meds...which makes him pass out...so then he can't walk either - we can't seem to find a balance...

Okay - sorry for the short post - try an d get on later or tom...

So good Mid Morning to you all!

I sat this morning as I was getting the kids ready for school thinking hmmm what can I get done today! I know I have plenty of :laundy: to do or i could sit and relax with a bit of :happytv: Or i could veg out and :surfweb: play Fashion wars! Oh at about 7:40 am I realized oh crap today is tuesday Nov.4. I have a field trip to go on! I make a mad dash to get dressed in something other than track pants and a sweat shirt. I run all over kingdom to find zac's meter because he doesn't know where he put it this morning! Find that kids are in the car waiting. I drop them off and drive to the bank and then right back to the school. No mind you kids are looking at me because they were told NO parents on this field trip Not enough room But yet there is Zac's mom waiting to go! Oh well I rode the bus which isn't usually customary in this school parents follow behind in their own cars!! I think I like that better than listening to 40 7 & 8 year old scream and tattle! So today we went to see the planetarium It was cool not as great at the one in the Boston Museum Of Science but Hey I don't live in Boston anymore right toto! Kids had fun.So Mind you it is PITCH DARK in ther eand my son leans over and says mom I feel LOW! Great to dark to see do I disrupt everything and drag him out?? No I do the next best thing get out the cell phone and use that as a flash light in little burst of lights. I even managed to dig out a juice box from my purse and he was set before the lights even came on! I was kinda worried though because he looked a little low again when we returned to the school and he had his shot and then was heading to the class to then go to lunch.. Thinking he may be low again later!
Ok off to do some :laundy: my favorite thing to do!
