In Search of my Body...Not The One I ate...#3 "Crowning Goddesses As We Go"

Oh, I KNOW. They gave Nick candy for is birthday. Wrapped and all.

Nutrigrain bars. Big box, from Costco. Wrapped. ::yes:: BIL, who's b-day is the day after mine - same thing. not kidding. :confused3 We also get a b-day check - but MIL has this *thing* about having something to "open" :rolleyes1

I do LOVE my in-laws  they honestly are awesome (good thing, because they live 2 houses down...:rolleyes1 ) but sometimes you just have to say HUH?

Really headed to bed now....

hi all -
Need to PM some people...

Getting things situated for December...Dan is going to go for sure so it should be a great time...he is looking forward as much as I to meeting everyone in person...

Such an aweaome day here...sunny and fall like...I was smelling the change in the air...things are dying and rwady to go dorment already...leaves changing...falling down...

Seems like even nature is ready for some big changes! Just like my bottom! ;)

Dawn, since you are having such a hard time on AIM, just write one PM and send it to all of us. :goodvibes

Lisa - do you have aim? If so what is your user name?

Hi Dawn,

I do have AIM now because of you guys. I don't know what I'm doing. Beware. :lmao: ;) Have most of you signed up as my buddies. Yet when you're all on it and inviting me to chat it says you're offline - so my head hurts trying to figure it all out. :rolleyes1

But it's frankieneville. What yours Dawn? Not that I'd know what to do with it!!!!

Erika - good to see you. Thinking about you all day.

I wish I had your gym choices! By my house there's a YMCA 2 miles away, a Lady of America (no good for a family gym...) about 8 miles away, and a 24-hour fitness about 20 minutes away. Some of the neighbors belong to the Y as well - they opened what some think to be a really good pool 2 summers ago and have child-care.

Now, a GODDESS crown for me! I weighed myself after work - and from my all-time high I've lost 10% of my body weight! Hoo-yeah! :woohoo:  :woohoo:

Yes, I had to shout that from the rafters. But I think it deserves it, yes?

Deb
GREAT JOB DEB !!! Isn't that a great feeling! I am working on my second 10% goal... not doing great at it by the way!

And on an even biatchier note...even if you weren't dealing with weight loss stuff, what kind of present is Twizzlers and pretzels???? [/COLOR]
have to kinda agree with E here! a simple card would have done the trick! I think

Ok So Ty's rapid strep test was negative... Well guess what It was false He has strep. Now I am wondering if Sammie has it too or if she just wanted a day off? Also This ties in with Kat and Deb and Liz's discussion on who comes first in the kid yourself order. This I have learned I spend many hours taking care of my kids and If they get sick I am up all night sometimes with them and guess who else gets sick??? ME So it needs to be a balancing act of taking care of yourself and your kids. Because you can't be good for them if you are sick and miserable. ( Hello feeling a sore throat coming on... can any one say STREP) I am heading for the DR tomorrow. It was to dam busy for anyone to run me off line tonight at work.
Ok off to bed, I need to get better to take care of my kids!!! Plus no one takes care of me when I am sick so that sucks!

Hey ladies and Dan!
Sorry I was kinda MIA the later part of today... things were crazy at work and hub was off early so we ate Chipotle (i'm going to diet hell for this) and watched CSI all night... On the plus side we decided what we are doing for our anniversary which also happens to be Halloween... We are going to DISNEYLAND!!!!! I'm so stoked... It was even his idea... He really only goes cuz I love love love it but he suggested it! We bought tickets tonight for Mickey's Trick or Treat Party. This is the 2nd actual holiday I've been too.. We went for the 4th (where I conned a cast member into trading his cast pin for the 4th to me... they can get fired for that) and now this one! I'm soooo stoked... I keep telling him I get to go home! LOL :rotfl: :rotfl: Anywho thats about it here...

Ummm Has Anyone Noticed That The Dis Clock Is Off By Like A Half Hour Or So??? POSTED THIS AT 7:42

Did you not see my bike schmike comment???? :lmao:

yes  ...and I chose to ignore it...:rolleyes1

Can I say - the downside to biking in these cool fall mornings...it's COLD. Riding at an average of 18 mph means I have an 18 mph WIND blowing on me...

anyone know how many calories you burn for shivering? :confused3

Happy Birthday Liz!!! Enjoy your twizzler's! ;)

Thank you!!! ALL!!!!

Nancy, you made me spit out my birthday water! I am off to drop Emily at school and then spend two hours at the gym - because that is how a sane person spends their birthday, no? OMG WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME??? Flashlight! Flashlight!

xoxo.

Just finished my last training run before the half. Which is 48 hours away, by the way. 3 miles in 30 minutes, so that makes me feel pretty good. It felt easy peasy, too.

So I am getting my iPod set up for the race and I got contemplative these past few days because this race is pretty emotional for me. (For a variety of reasons. I am running for the National Kidney Foundation and I raised money for the cause. Because I am in such a different place than I was 7 months ago when I started this, etc.) Anyway, I decided that I would set up my iPod so that every mile (11 minutes-ish) would be dedicated to someone or some part of my life. And the songs during that time would be reflective of that.

Here is what I have so far--

Mile 1- for Kelly. She is the reason I started all of this, so it only makes sense that she starts the race with me.

Mile 2 - for Cammie - no explanation needed, I am sure.

Mile 3 - for Riley - same.

Miles 4 & 5 - for Jeff. For all of the complaining and griping that I do about him, he is an excellent person. Truly one of the best I know. And the good in our lives FAR outweighs the bad. He is a great husband and father. Plus, I have a ton of songs that remind me of him, so he gets 2 miles.

Mile 6 - my parents. Because how else would I have gotten where I am today? They are so supportive of everything I do.

Mile 7 - old friends. I am middle-aged. That is still hard for me to believe. But in that time, I have had tons of friends. Really good ones. And although I may have lost touch with some, or only do the Christmas card thing with others, they are still my friends and I know that we could pick up in a heartbeat and it would be like we were never apart.

Mile 8 - the ocean. Ok, I know this sounds cheesy. But Marine life and research is a big part of who I am. Always has been. From living in Alaska to the Keys to getting ready to do my sabbatical in The Seas (no, this isn't definite)...it is just part of me.

Mile 9 - fitness & running. Before my "fat period" I was always thought of as a jock or a fitness freak or whatever. It was a huge part of my self-identity. And I lost it. And now it is back and I am so happy about that.

Mile 10 - Disney! This is another passion of mine. And again, I have great songs that go with this, so it gets a mile.

Mile 11 - Party time! Ok, the truth is that I am still a Party Girl at heart. Middle-aged or not. I love to have a great time, to tie one on, to dance till I can't move, to scream until I have no voice left. Plus, at this point in the race, I am going to need something like this! :lmao:

Mile 12 - You guys. The Board Babes. You are specifically at mile 12 b/c even though I had other reasons for starting this journey, there is no way I would have come this far without all of you. :grouphug:

Mile 13 - this one is for me. I will likely take my iPod off here and just experience this last mile. Thinking about where I came from...and where I have yet to go.

So, that is what is bouncing through my head this morning.

Ok, off to take Karen to breakfast (she has been doing MUCH better, but today is tough for her, so this I can do for her).

Happy Birthday Liz!!!!

Good Luck with your run Erika!!!!!

Will post more when I wake up a bit...

Happy Birthday..to you and to me! :) Today's my birthday too. pirate:

Your inlaws sound like MY inlaws..maybe they're the same ones?:lmao: They always give me stuff I don't want/can't use/don't need for birthdays/Christmas. My MIL is big on giving clothing for birthdays/Christmas so I always end up getting something that is totally NOT my style. She's always trying to fit me in the same mold as she and my SIL, which I am not them.

Oh..the singing nuns? It's Dominque, from some movie with Debbie Reynolds from the 50's (or maybe the early 60's, not sure).
