In Search of my Body...Not The One I ate...#3 "Crowning Goddesses As We Go"

Hey Gang,

I am having a time here. I need to get refocused. I want to lose 7lbs in 3 weeks. 7lbs by 10/15. So I need to be focused, track every little thing, etc. Exercise, yes, back on my schedule. But it's mostly about the food for me and not eating my emotions, feelings, for comfort, etc.

The song that keeps running through my head is "Feeling Good"

"it's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life
For me".

So, who's with me? Anyone else have a mini-goal?


ME! I do, I do! 7 pounds by 10/28. I have to give myself more time for the same amount of poundage cause you know, I just don't lose it. So I can adjust it to 5 pounds by 10/15.

Should I start a challenge? Come on...let's do a challenge!! I need one.

In 3 weeks I Rob and Richelle will be here. So I want to be 159, so when she takes all these pictures of me I feel good besides look good. KWIM?

This is how righted I am in my head. I love "righted". West Indians use it all the time. He's not righted. Okay back to regular programming. :rotfl:

Lisa, this is why I love you! The whole stream of consciousness thing. This just had me laughing because this is how my head works. And you should hear Liz and talk...it is notstop tripping over words and non-sequitirs, etc. Funny.

Not a problem... I went to bed early last night... This swimming thing is knocking me out energy wise, but it is worth it. I just need to get used to it again...

So OCT 1 the house is officially MINE!

WOO HOO Steph! Great news! I am really excited for you. And really, this was not that long. Closings often take up to 4 months. Anything less is a bonus.

I walked on the tm for 30 minutes and jogged for 5. I know. Don't get any ideas.

Ok, so you know I have a lot to say here. I mean, I feel like an excited puppy jumping up and down and all happy and with tons of energy and tons of questions to ask. But I don't wanna jinx it. So I am gonna shut up even though it is REALLY hard. :goodvibes

I think I am back up to date now.

I meet with my running coach tomorrow to get a new plan to train for the Disney Half Marathon in January. Yes, I am going to do another one. My goal is to get to be where LisaPR is and just basically always be ready and in shape for a half.

Speaking of jeans...I meant to weigh in on this topic the other day. I didn't realize it, but I have been avoiding my jeans. Not sure who posted it, but jeans SO totally tell the truth! All summer I have been wearing running shorts. Sure, I wear them to work out in. But then I just take off the sweaty ones and put on a clean pair. It's the legs, you know. :rotfl2: ANd since it has turned colder, I have been wearing track pants, etc. Lots of elastic waist items.

I didn't even realize that I was actually avoiding putting my jeans back on.

So today was the day. I bit my lip and slid them on....and....they fit perfectly. Phew. As I said a while ago, I hadn't been watching my eating for several weeks before the half. I was training like crazy, sure. But I was also eating more than usual. Not crap, fortunately. But a lot.

But now....on to the challenge!

I worked out! I'm so proud... I put on a Disneyland podcast and just did it! My mini goal is 5-10 lbs by Halloween! :hmghost:

Love that song.... I know have Michael Buble's version in my head... (he puts on an awesome concert by the way... very cool sense of humor... must be the Canadian thing...)

I am in for the mini challenge. I want to lose 5 pounds by the 15th, but my big challenge will to not fall off the exercise bandwagon... working out a minimum of three days a week every week... I really need to focus on making this a part of my lifestyle....

Erika - thanks for the kind words on my hitting the pool again.... that means a lot to me...

Liz you looked great ! Well No you LOOK great not looked!
So here it is now 645 and I am up and have been up since 6:00am way to early fro me but SIL said she was bring me the baby at 6:30 Well Guess what I still don't have the baby and I am mad that I could have slept in for at least another 45-50 minutes. Oh well I guess No AIM for me tonight!

I am going to try to pack a few things up but do mostly laundry today fold and put away and do all the rest of the laundry that the kids are making!

Proud Mom Moment--

Every Thursday Kelly gets to do "Sharing" in her class. It is what we used to call Show and Tell. There are lots of rules about what kids can and can't share. No toys, etc.

So today Kelly wants to share ME. She wants me to come in today and bring my medal from the race and my sign and talk about why I run and the National Kidney Foundation. As soon as I stop crying, I am heading in to her school.

I expected a lot of things from doing this race. But not this.

What is wrong with your teeth? Do you still drink soda? (Pop here in Ohio.)

My teeeth are all effed up from a period several years ago where I worked for a fast food resteraunt. Our boss allowed us to drink as much soda as we wanted and WE had to provide the container (whether that be a bottle from home, a cup we bought at work, whatever). Mine was usually a big ol' Coleman canteen that held about a liter and a half and I would go through two, sometimes three of those per day (which didn't help my waistline neither). Drinking as much soda as I did effed up my teeth really bad and it's been a long, slow process of getting them fixed because I really, REALLY don't like going to the dentist. I would rather suffer the pains I get from eating something too hot/cold than go to the dentist.

Abu, DH and DS Superguy. The last time I stepped on a scale (which was about a year ago at the dr's office) I weighed 180. I have not stepped on a scale since then, so I don't know what I weigh now and I'm not really sure I want to know sometimes. I do know that I have not gained nor really lost any weight since the last time I went to the dr's because my clothes has not gotten too tight or looser either.

#2 What are some of your trigger foods?
Anything salty and anything fried.I LOVE southern 'comfort foods' too like fried chicken, fried okra, mashed potatoes w/cream gravy, greens..*drool*

#3 What form of exercise (activity) would you love to do but have limited yourself from due to weight/confidence?
Jogging..I would love to be able to jog because I've heard it burns more calories than just walking but I'm so fat, I'm afraid I'll just look stupid. That and I have knee problems, partially due to my weight, partially due to genetics.

#5 What do you want to achieve from a healthier body / lifestyle?
Feel better about myself..so that I feel sexy again, which I haven't felt in years.

Week 1, Day 2, C25K. Done. 1.6 miles. Easier than Tuesday, and harder as well. Who knew my inner thighs could scream that loud from running - well, race-walking - on a completely flat sidewalk?
