Yes - and you pay $2/night for "safe insurance" up to $5,000. They aren't the kind of safe you program -- it's a box with a key. It's pretty much a black box in the closet -- about 12" square.
And if you leave something in them (like I left my car keys -- since we'd flown & used other transport, I didn't want to carry them around, didn't realize it until I was on the plane) -- anyway housekeeping will send it to you C.O.D.
I will just leave the the stuff with me, I think that is kinda of strange to charge for a safe that is in your room. I can see if it was at the front desk and they would have to open and close it. We are saving money staying off site, but this goes to show you that Disney does have all the little perks. Thank BeesKate!
When we checked in, I wrote "declined" on the $2 charge for one of our rooms (per their instructions) but we were charged it anyway. I'm guessing I could have gotten it removed, but we checked out at 4:15AM after 4 hours of sleep & I had 25 people to corral onto the Your Ride vans - the $12 just wasn't a priority.
