In-room Coffee

Coffee may be one of the few non-magical things about Disney. I think it may just be the only thing keeping Nescafe afloat as a company. My wife and I like tohave a good cup before heading out for the day - but what are our options (at POFR?) The in-room coffee makers gross me out and frankly, I don't even remember they have them. A press pot would be nice but no real way to get the water hot enough. One option would be a mini K-cup brewer, but that's an expensive option.

Anyone have any thoughts or experience here? I know it's a small thing, but I'm just trying to make a nice holiday nicer.

Yes, there are coffee makers in the rooms at POFR.

I have seen these ideas here on the boards.

If you're driving, bring down your coffee maker from home.
If you have a rental car, make a quick trip to the Walmart and pick up a cheapo coffee maker and supplies.
Take a taxi to the Walmart and pick up said cheapo coffee maker.

I understand the need for good coffee, so for around $20 you could have good coffee for a week.

it is the water! totally disgusting! what about a this personal coffee maker? with bottled water!

Yes the water is totally disgusting, and so is the cleanliness of the coffee makers sometimes! This is what we do:
1: Purchase a case (or 2) of bottled water on our way to the resort, or get one from the nearest Hess station.
2: Grind our own coffee beans at home, enough for the time at WDW. I pack them in an empty coffee can, and throw them in my checked luggage if we're flying or into a loose box of 'stuff' if we're driving.
3: Bring the flat bottomed paper filters that fit the 4 cup coffee makers.
4: When we get into our room, the first thing I do is wash out the coffee maker and run a full pot of plain water to rinse it out.

Then we're good to go and we can have our favourite coffee every morning while we're getting ready for the day.

Unfortunately I just read today that POR is replacing these coffee makers with the pod style ones. Bummer. But at least you could bring your own. I am assuming they meant the Keurig-style coffee makers.
