I apologize for being so full of questions, but I just love hearing about y'all's trips and you all sure are experts.

Has anyone used in-room babysitting? I called to inquire and was told that we would need 2 caregivers for 5 children. The lady on the phone had no sense of humor when I told her "Why 2 caregivers? I do it by myself all the time" LOL - I was just kidding with her. Anyway I was told that it would be $36/hr plus travel fee.

I would love to hear about your experiences with this.

Thanks all!

I apologize I don't have the # with me...but somewhere on here is a thread for 'fairytale Godmothers', because I inquired about it earlier. I'd look for that :)
But...I was told 12$ an hour....4 hr minimum +travel fees.... so even if you have 2 caregivers...it shouldn't be more than $24 an hr...unless they are talking about someone other than Fairytale Godmothers...

Sorry I'm not more help than that! Good Luck!

We used Fairy Godmothers back in May (I don't have the number but someone always has it posted on the Disney for Families Board). We had a great sitter, her name was Vera Kennedy. I don't know how many sitters they would require you to have for 5 kids, but the above poster was correct, a sitter was $12.00/hr plus $12.00 travel with a 4 hr minimum. $36.00 seems crazy.

I seem to remember that FG charged more an hour for more then three kids. I do recommend Fairy Godmothers though. (Use your own car, not Disney transportation. The bus ate up a lot of our time when we went to PI)

We, too, used Fairy Godmothers in June of 2001. Margerite was her name and she was wonderful! She came prepared with a bag of toys, coloring books, ect. She tried to take them to the playground, but it started to rain. (We were at Shades of Green and the playground was right down the steps from our room) I would use them again....although, now that the boys are a bit older, they REALLY like going to the Neverland Club. I think it would be a bit cheaper, plus they would be able to play with other kids, have dinner, watch a movie. It's all in how your kids would do late at night too. We used FG for a morning get away! We went and flew planes at Warbird Adventures! HIGHLY recommend that!
