In Our Family, "Ohana", Means No Teenager is Left Behind - August PTR - Updated 4/11

Somehow my subscription to your thread didn't stick. Sorry! I'm back and caught up again. :wave2:

I haven't eaten at Cali Grill, so I don't want to say too much about it, but I do think that if you loved it that much last time, it would be awfully nice to go back. I am kind of like your Mom though, in that I always hesitate to spend two meal credits at a restaurant. I'd have to be really sure it was worth it!

My own personal favourite 1 credit restaurant... hmm... at the moment Via Napoli is coming up first in my mind.

If I had to offer an opinion, I'd say if you're not sure about it, keep Cali Grill in your back pocket for a special meal on a future trip and find a nice 1 credit to replace it.

I am definitely leaning towards saving Cali Grill for another trip. My older son and I are hoping to run the Princess Marathon and even though I have no idea how I will finance it, I am already thinking of the Deluxe Dining Plan for the two of us. That would be pretty special dinner. I have heard so many great things about Via Napoli...it is definitely on my list of places to consider.

Hello! Joining in, I don't normally read TR but the title caught my attention so here I am!
Love California Grill but understand the 2 credits! Agree with^ Via Napoli is a favorite for my family. We also enjoy Whispering Canyon, Teppan Edo, Rainforest cafe and your title winner...Ohana! Lol
I also see your flying Southwest and wondering if total cost includes luggage. Price shopping for our Dec trip myself DH, DS14, DS12, DS2 (1st trip for his 3rd bday) and my mom. All previous trips we drove but DS2 will never make it so no choice. Don't like the idea of everyone split up and read Southwest will split up if not small child not sure if we can avoid this or not!

I am so glad that you are here! I definitely have Via Napoli on the short list. Teppan Edo also has my interest.

Southwest includes 2 pieces of luggage per person (one of the many reasons we love them). With your 2-year old you would be able to get family boarding with a child under 2. I did book Gabrian and I separately from everyone else. That way I only had to pay the Early Booking Fee for the 2 of us. Since he will be 5 when we travel, I was afraid we would be separated. I still think there prices and service makes it worth while to fly with them.

Sadly... I have only read your first post... I will be back to read the rest later... But I did get to read enough to know that our trips will be over-lapping ANNNNND... We are at the same resort. ;)

Also... Your title caught my eye... I will be traveling with 3 (Yikes... THREE) teen-girls...

Looking forward to following along. :)

I am so glad that you are here. I am reading your report too! I am only on page 23 though and trying to catch up. That is so exciting that we will be at the same resort. Maybe we can arrange a DisMeet!

Nothing huge to report here. Just excited that the time is inching closer! Before I know it we will be under 100 days.

I am joining a Photo Share. I had debated just getting one on my own or maybe not joining any at all. Last year's experience was not too great. I am still waiting to receive that CD. Supposedly it had been sent out of Canada at the end of February but so far nothing has come my way.

I decided to change it again because you are really not out that much money and I would really like to get some great group shots. I am going to try harder to take advantage of it this year.

I have bad news on my new car front...ok not really that bad. I went to put something in the back of the car and noticed that the rear driver's side quarter panel window was shattered. It is still in place but has a million spider web cracks going through it. I can't tell you how much I love Geico right now. I was able to place my claim right through the App on the phone and scheduled an appointment to get the window replaced from the same App. It was so easy and hassle free.

The only other big thing going on is trying to decide what to do with my California Grill reservation. I really think I am going to pick a 1 credit reservation but so far haven't found anything I am willing to switch for. Eventually I will pick something and suck it up. I need to stop being such a baby about giving it up.

Next Saturday we are going to NYC for the day to celebrate Riley's birthday. I need to put some effort in researching that trip. Check in with you later!

That sucks that you didn't get your Photopass cd yet! I hope you do, and soon.
Ugh sorry to hear about the cracked window, but it sounds like it went smoothly to fix.
Deciding on restaurants is hard, why do we Disers torture ourselves so? Haha but we love it.

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

That is awful about your Photopass CD! That is one reason I don't participate in shares... The other is that we tend to get a LOT of photos (usually 500+ before edits) and I just think it's wrong to make others sift through THAT many photos to get to their own. We get enough pictures that I can always justify the purchase. :thumbsup2

What a bummer about window - glad you were able to place the claim and shedule it to be fixed in one fell swoop. :)

Have fun in NYC... Never been there. ::yes::

I have never heard of Photo Share before?!! Are you sharing in the photopass/memory maker with someone? I have been debating on getting it because it would be nice to have pictures of us both that aren't selfies(I hate asking other people to take our photo). But it is a little pricey too. Did you find it through the dis or a separate website?

Boo to car window! But atleast its being easily and quickly fixed! How awesome is that?!

Joining in on the fun! Currently planning our trip for September. You'll be in WDW on my birthday.. woo! :cool1:

You can sooo do the 1/2 marathon!! I have done 3. When I first started training I couldn't run for more than 2 minutes at a time. It's not easy but it is so worth it. Plus, running with your son will be so fun and it's great that the two of you can do that together!!
