In need of new video camcorder for upcoming Disney trip. Which one is best?

DH and I need a new camcorder for our Januray 2009 trip with DD, DSIL and DGS. Want it to be small, handheld and have long recording time. Want something we can play back on TV to watch later. Have no idea what to look for or which one to choose. Please any advice will be great. Thanks!

Do yourself a favor and wait... the prices will only drop between now and Christmas and if your trip isn't until January don't bother getting it now unless you have a need for it sooner than later. Also, I wouldn't really start looking hard until your maybe 1 month from the time you are going to purchase. Electronics change very rapidly and while you might find the perfect camera/camcorder now, its completely plausible that two or three months down the road a better cheaper camera maybe on the market.

The newest format for camcorders are those that record onto SD cards. Canon makes a couple of nice ones - the FS10, with 8 gigs of built in memory, plus the ability to record onto as many SD cards as your wallet allows! or the FS100 which records onto SD cards only and I think is about $100 cheaper. Both are teeny-tiny; 45 or 48x zoom. Panasonic make one even smaller, I think the SD20, that's waterproof, dustproof, shockproof and records onto SD cards also.
