We've flown with Virgin a number of times, and yet never once done it through Virgin holidays. We've always found it cheaper to go through someone else. This time Virgintravelstore.com came up trumps, with United on this occasion.
The best car hire we could find was with Airlinenetwork.co.uk. We got a minivan for £181/week (in 3 days time, woohoo...) Sorry...
We've found villas to be the best, and in fact, most economical way to stay for a longer duration. We've booked direct with owners, through a site I found on this board. A quick search for villas on the Disboards, should bring up plenty of options. We like staying near 192 (in the central part, near Walmart), we avoid developments down hwy27, simply because we felt it took too long to get anywhere other than Disney.
Hope this is of use.

Try Florida Bees and Funway Holidays as they tend to have Virgin (or BA) flights for around £325 + tax off peak. Its always worth tapping in your dates to Expedia, e-bookers, Travelbag and Opodo, as the SOMETIMES have deals on Virgin flights...though they generally tend to be at least £450.

As for a villa, you will be spoilt for choice! There are hundreds of websites with direct contact to villa owners and probably over a hundred locations to choose from. Its worth doing a bit of research into the villa locations as some (Southern Dunes for example) are a quite a haul (30 mins) from Disney. Others are fairly new build and therefore gaurantee you a modern home, that has had relatively few guests...(Highlands Reserve, Calabay Park). The nearest villas to Disney are on US 27 NORTH of the I-4. Post on here under a new topic and ask for reccomendations.

Make sure when you book the villa you get an all inclusive price (taxes, pool heating, if required and cleaning). It may also be worth considering a condo, as there are only the 3 of you.......villas are generally at least 3 bedroom, more typically 4, so you will be paying for space you dont need. There are some fabulous condos around Disney, and they may work out cheaper than a villa....try Wyndham Palms, Orange Lakes or Vistana Villages.

Good luck with your booking!
Allie.

Sorry, but that's not correct. The nearest villas to Disney are along the 192 near to Splendid China, this is less than 2 miles to Disney property using the Sherbourne road entrance. Just to get on the I27 you have to go past those developments and drive 6 miles to get to the junction with I27 then add on any distance along I27.

Hi Beth

Great news - going again next year!!

A quick search will find you hundreds of villas to choose from. We've done hotels and villas and found villas to be the best option, especially with small kids - when they go to bed, the grown ups can relax or have a swim in the pool.

Some of the villas are very large - maybe you could find some friends to share with.

When we were looking for a villa to stay in this year I found the ones nearest to Disney were more expensive. We stayed in Cumbrian Lakes - off Poinciana Blvd and we found that to be a great location - near shops, eating places etc, but still far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the 192.

The best thing to do is shop around - make sure you look at every option, and decide then what suits you best.

Have fun
Cath:)

we have opted for Windsor Palms this time, until we get there I can't confirm it, but I have been told it's one of the closest developments to Disney.

I've booked wth www.statesideuk.com again, we haven't travelled yet, so I can't give them my full recommendation, but so far they have been fine to deal with. Someone on these boards recommended them to us.
We are only booking an apartment, as there are only 4 of us, and it seemed a little excessive to book a full villa, but they have both.

I've booked my flights and carhire with www.bon-voyage.co.uk
they seem to have good prices, and I like the online search facility so you can play with different dates and check out the various prices. It is also easy to compare airlines and direct vs indirect options.

Hi,

I would definately shop around for your flights you should be able to get some really good deals so far in advance, try these they have always been cheap, don't be afraid to barter I always get a couple of prices and knock off 20/30 pounds and try my luck sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't but worth a try. Phone number 0800 358 1124

Also try these for villas we always use them www.frontlineflorida.com/2604ic.htm or e-mail me for some really good deals I will have to dig out the info I have here from last time we went.

Hope this helps, villas are definately the best way to go.
