We are on the 10/29/16 cruise next year on the Magic and i'm hoping to get a good idea of how they celebrate at sea.

1. What activities did they have?
2. Did they have some sort of Trick or Treating?
3. Did they actually hand out Candy?
4. Did they celebrate on 10/31 or did they do it on another night?

Thanks

I just got off the 10/28 Magic cruise. We are not hugely into Halloween which is ironically one of the reasons we decided to cruise during this time - sort of Halloween with the Kranks, lol. Anyway I will still do my best to answer:

1. Every night of the cruise there was a Halloween storyteller in the atrium. there were also a couple of showings of the Nightmare before Christmas - it was a "sing and scream along". There were various Halloween craft workshops. And then there were two family "Mousequerade" parties on Halloween itself - at 2:15 and again at 4:15. And then there was an Adults Costume party at around 10pm on Halloween.

We went to the family party and trick or treated. There was an emcee and then a bunch of dancing by the characters. The highlight was when the characters when out into the crowd and actually danced with the kids - that was great.

2. Yes there was trick or treating - during the family parties - but only 3 stations and it was super crowded. And it seemed they didn't have enough candy to meet the demand. But they did have candy, at least. It was soooooo crowded.

3. We celebrated Halloween on Halloween - on the last night of the cruise.

We sailed on the 10/30-11/2 Disney Dream cruise. We had the same activities as the previous poster stated but since it was a 3-night cruise, Nightmare Before Christmas was shown once on 10/30 followed by character appearance with Jack and Sally.
On 10/31, they had the Mickey's Mousequerade Party at 3:15 and 4:45pm and it wasn't very crowded. ToT was in the lobby. They gave you a bag and lots of kids filled it up. Plenty of candy.
The adult party was at 11pm.

Have fun!

We were on the Magic 10/23-10/28 and we are HUGE HUGE Halloween people. It was part of the draw for us.

On the first night there was a storytelling in front of the pumpkin tree with the pumpkin tree "caretaker." The second day, a sea day, was "Halloween" for us. We weren't actually sailing ON Halloween so I can't answer question number 4. There were two separate Halloween parties in the atrium. We went to a later one. They had games and candy stations through the atrium and into the after hours section of the ship. It was really crowded and a little frustrating, to be honest. My daughter couldn't participate in many of the games because of the sheer number of people. We went to the later one and I heard the earlier one was much less crowded.

In our cruise meetup, we also organized a room to room trick or treat which my daughter loved. Everyone had a really good time. I organized it and divided everyone into four groups meeting at different locations at a designated time. That way, for candy hander-outers once all four groups went by, you knew you were done. Plus the kids got to meet some friends that way. On Halloween there was a costume contest and party in the kid's club and a costume contest and dance party in Fathoms for the adults. There was also a family dance party in D Lounge at some point.

On the third day of the cruise, Pirate Day, there were no Halloween related actives. On day four, the second sea day, we had the Nightmare Before Christmas Sing and Scream and Jack and Sally meet and greet. There was also another storytelling in front of the pumpkin tree. Castaway Cay day I don't remember any activities.

There were other crafts and actives throughout the cruise in the kids club as well as D Lounge. It was pretty much impossible to attend everything we wanted to attend and do all the other stuff on the ship we wanted to do. I loved the Halloween stuff and I'm glad we did it, but I'm sort relieved that our next cruise is just a normal sailing because I found it hard to fit everything in!

I'm currently writing up a trip report in that section of the forums and I also submitted my personal navigators to the Disney Cruise Line Blog so check there for those soon, I would think.

Hey thanks! I remember i posted asking these questions. The answers were perfect!!!

Thanks

I have a TR that extends to a Disneyland staycation following the cruise. The cruise portion of the TR is complete. Difference was it was on Wonder and was mid-October. I'll try to attach it later when I'm on my computer.

We had so much fun and loved the character costumes for Halloween. We enjoyed the stories and tree transformation. Trick or treating is soooo crazy busy and crowded. Our kids listened to the story. When it was done, all the candy was gone.

We were also on the Magic '14 cruise. We were absolutely stunned at the terrific costumes people wore. Many looked like they were out of Hollywood or a Broadway production. Lots of fun! We didn't get the memo to "dress" for dinner that night, but the show of costumes then and later in the atrium with the characters was a blast. Many great photo ops. Be warned it can get a little risqué... what with the Chip and Dale Dancers and Playboy Bunnies running around!:-)
