Its a program on Lifetime. Its about a modern (I think?) Mormon group of Polygamists.

It struck me as an interesting topic. So what are your thoughts on the subject?

Personally, I could never be a polygamist's wife. I'm too jealous. I'd beat down the first woman who touched my husband. ;)

EDIT:
just to keep this clear for everyone, polygamy is when a man has more than one wife.

When is it on? Sounds interesting. But its definitely not right.

i'm watching it right now.

I think that if three (or more) ADULTS can work it out, by all means, go for it. But Polygamists relationships involving teenage girls are wrong. thats rape in my eyes.

Wow. Id kil my husband if he had more than one wife. XD Sounds really interesting though. -goes to lifetime.com to see what time its on-

Hmm, its definitely interesting!! I couldn't imagine being in that kind of relationship. You (as a girl) doesn't get to choose a husband. Thats terrible.
:(

that woman and those children were banished because she told a doctor why a girls arm was broken. (a man tried to rape her and told her not to tell anyone.)

:sad2: Wow... This is definitely modern day.. (Dodge caravan and a Ford truck.)

I always found that interesting. I think if they agree on it, then it's fine, but being forced into it is not right. I especially don't think teen girls should be involved. We watched a movie in social studies in 6th grade that featured Polygamists but I can't remember the name. It was a really good and interesting movie although I could not live like that. I would be too protective of my husband to be around another women. He's mine, you can't have him. lol Oh, I just found the channel, I'm watching it now.

Mormon's aren't Polygamists.

If they agree I guess it's fine for them. However I would severely hurt the first woman who touches my man while we're married.

She's right, the practice of Polygamy in the Mormon religion was stopped after Brigham Young guided them to Utah.

Yay for History Channel.

I guess you can see it that way, but Polygamy isn't supported in the Mormon religion, just like it isn't in Christianity or Judaism.

On Polygamy: whatever floats your boat.

in 1890? Yes. I know.

The story behind this group is that they branched off before that and they've been practicing since.

Not all mormons are polygamists, but these polygamists are mormons.

How are they mormon? It is against the rules to be a polygamist and still be mormon. It's considered a sin and you can get ex-communciated because of it. But not always.

Thanks for telling us about this movie, Shelby. :) (I watch too much Lifetime as it is but the movies are so good. :p )
