If you compare the prices and quality of Disney's CS food options, they are better than most "captive audience" places around the country.

Compared to any sports stadium, amusement park, 6 Flags, airport and you'll see the prices are in fact pretty good . It's not even that much more expensive than McDonald's. The Flame Tree at AK makes a great BBQ pork sandwich for example.

Now TS and buffet fare? That has been ruined by the DDP. Don't even start that discussion. With the exception of Olivia's and Boma, I have given up on them

PS: If you choose to eat at peak dining times at any busy CS facility, don't fault the sub-par food and chaos on the venue. Blame the choice of trying to get food when 2,000 other people had the same idea.

PPS: Disney has yet to make a good pizza. Go figure.

From the thread below on a similar topic:

I think complaints about Disney's pricing are justified. In my case, I've accepted that food at Disney World (or Las Vegas, or New York City, or any other tourist destination) will be overpriced compared to the real world.

However, WDW disappoints me when compared to Disney's previous offerings. The prices for WDW food have increased much faster than the overall rate of inflation. At the same time, variety of choices has gone down at each restaurant. Disney heavily promotes the dining plan in order to appeal to people who want a value. But in order to make the DDP worth it financially, Disney has to inflate the prices of its food to make the plan look better by comparison.

So maybe Disney is more fairly priced than other captive audience locales. But things used to be better, and that's where a lot of the disappointment comes from (for people who only started coming to WDW in 2005 or later, this is probably less noticeable).

I think Via Napoli has good pizza. Of course, 1) that refers only to the TS restaurant itself and not the CS pizza window, and 2) they're not Disney.

I agree with the OP. Compared to Six Flags and other non-Disney theme parks, I really enjoy the CS food at the Disney Parks. I LOVE Pecos Bills for a burger loaded with toppings at a reasonable price. I LOVE sampling food at the CS spots in World Showcase. Flame Tree has great BBQ at AK and while I haven't found anything out of this world at DHS, you can always get a Mickey ice cream bar there. :)
