So I'm sure most have heard about the Boston marathon.. My prays are with the many family's effected..
One suspect is dead and another is one the run..

So due to the man hunt going on.. Boston and surrounding areas are on lockdown and Airport is closed..
We are not able to leave our home (unless you want to be frisked)
They are now telling us it could be a few days!!!! :worried:
Should I call Disney? And see what I can do if we can't get out?

Also say they open the airport..
Should I plan to be at the airport 3 or 4 hours before or just the normal 2 hours?
We are traveling with two young kids, I don't want to be sitting at the airport if I don't have to..

I just googled, and it seems that transit is shut, but Logan is open. The articles said that taxis are being used by many.

CNN says "Most other big airlines serving Boston also have announced that they're waiving change fees for today's Boston flights."

I imagine if it continues, that will continue, too.

A friend traveling home to NJ from Orlando on Tuesday... HUGE TSA delays. I would prepare extra time in whatever you decide. Good luck and have a safe trip!

CBS local news is saying AirTran is extending the no charge for changing till Monday so I'd call and check!

Not sure where you're getting your info but Logan was never closed today or this week. Every news station has been reporting as much and stressing that while MBTA, T Service, and cabbies are shut down the airport remains opened. The cab drivers have since been let back on the road.

Logan was already secure when this happened and with limited access to get there I don't think there is much danger in them closing the airport. Certian airspace over Boston was closed today and last Monday. That was most likely to keep the news chopters away from the sceen and allow the State Police and maybe any military copters to fly freely over the area. They were doing random automobile checks at the airport earlier. This kid would have to be pretty stupid to go to an area he knows was crawling with security even before he planted the bombs.

Well, considering the first break was they robbed a 7/11 I am not certain he is a genius. (Yes, he built a bomb, No, you don't have to be a genius to do that)

That said I would allow LOTS and LOTS of extra time. I am flying from Atlanta tomorrow and have added an hour to my time and Sat PM is generally slow here. but....

I looked at the website, and Logan says it has children's play areas. That can make things less painful, especially if you have gotten there nice and early and aren't rushing. Get there early, scope out the play areas in your gate's area ahead of time, and head there.

I've said it before, I've said it again...it's far better to be bored at an airport vs running to your gate hoping it's still boarding, while your pants are falling down b/c of no time to put the belt back on, with shoelaces untied. And it's extra horrid to have that happen when you have kids (the time it happened to us, DS was 3 or 4 and he was NOT happy with the situation at all). Kids don't like stressed out parents!

So check out what the airport has to offer that would be of use to you, and if this situation is still going on when you have your flight, just go EARLY. Actually, go early even if it has been resolved, because you'll then be running into planes that are more full, as they accommodate the people who weren't able to leave today.
