The purpose of this forum is to share helpful and fun trip planning information for the Universal theme parks. :)

Several recent threads on this forum have been derailed by sarcasm, insults, and arguments spewed by a very small number of posters. For the good of the great majority of posters who come to the Universal forums for helpful trip planning information and fun general talk about Universal, we want to remind everyone about our guidelines regarding fighting (and sarcasm, and insulting each other, and generally acting like adults. :teeth: )

From our Guidelines for Posting:

3. NO FIGHTING: Several Internet news groups are marred by the actions of a few selfish people who turn an otherwise positive forum into a soap box for their anger issues. Internet newsgroups are not moderated, and therefore, anything goes. These boards are moderated in an effort to keep the discussions appropriate to the topic at hand. Those who feel they can not abide by these rules are welcome to read the posts on the board, and respond via email to the person who posted the message. Messages that are argumentative or sarcastic in nature will be deleted without discussion.

Any posts that are argumentative or rude can be reported using the Report this Post button

that you'll find under the user's name beside each post. (You won't see this button on your own posts.)

We want to keep this forum a helpful, fun and welcoming place to share information, and we thank the many, many wonderful posters who come here to share information to help make others' trips more enjoyable. :sunny:

Thank you, Kathy. I've been on this forum for a number of years. Although I sometimes post on some of the other forums on the Dis, the Universal forum has always been my favorite as almost all the posts have been helpful. We have managed, over the years, to help in planning, give advice, and been encouraging to each other. Lately, the post have been more controversial. Although, I do love a good debate from time to time, the debates lately have centered around express pass. Just as the refillable mugs and pool hopping posts on the Disney forums are just beating a dead horse, the same has happened with the express pass. I prefer that we inform others how the express passes work and help them decide if it would benefit them or not so they can plan accordingly. Debating on who is right or wrong just serves no purpose. None of us has the ability to change policy on express at Universal. The best way to make your feelings known on this is to email Universal at GuestServices@universalorlando.com

Arguing with each other on the merits/faults of this systems has only alienated the board. I looked around the Universal board today and noticed many, many of our most faithful posters are no longer posting on this board. I truly want to help answer questions here but don't have the time or energy to debate.

Phamton,

I don't know if you could tell but I'm a huge Universal fan and I really appreciate you on these boards. Thanks so much for all your help.

:guilty: Sorry-I have been sarcastic but "everyday in everyway I will do better and better." Slight alteration of the quote but it expresses my feelings. :thumbsup2

I second that! Phamton has offered a great amount of information to all of us here, and I am really thankful for her help and insight. :thumbsup2.

Julie, the light and funny, humorous kind of sarcasm is okay. :) It's the mean and rude flavor that spoils the tone of the board.

Maybe we all just need to read "All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten". The bottom line is that we all have more fun when we play nice together and treat each other with kindness. :teeth:

Phamton is fabulous. She's like our own personal guide through Universal!

Wharton-

And I am doing this VERY nicely. This is NOT a Universal Board. Have you written them and expressed your opinion (sorry for the pun)? If you have an issue with express, tell them. In the posts I have been reading, even the pulled ones, I have seen you complain over and over again about express. Tell the parks about it.

Phantom-

You missed your calling..:)

Sounds like someone (Wharton) didn't read my first post very carefully. :)

No one has ever been banned for not agreeing with another posters views. People are banned if they refuse to play nice with others and make rude, argumentative and disruptive posts.

If you want to be rude and argumentative, you need to go somewhere else to do it.

AMEN, Phantom. I found these boards and enjoy them. I have learned so much for my June trip to Universal. It does no one any good to debate the rules Universal sets. These boards tell me the rules and I then decide how these will affect me. Everyone needs to understand the people on these boards are not making the rules - they are merely passing along information. I am thankful for the information. :sunny:

:thumbsup2 well said!

Geez, I leave town for a week and spent a sensational weekend at Universal Studio Orlando and return to see ya'll got a "play nice with others" email. I guess I can't leave you alone for a minute. Now, ya'll are going to make me read all the threads to see what happened?

I don't think it is just this boards I find a lot of criticism and sarcasm on all of the disboards!! So much so that is it turning me off reading them!! What happened to all the good info we use to get?? If someone says something another person didn't like they just flame them!! Isn't it time we got back the orginal focus...information :thumbsup2

They actually deleted one thread.....someone stating (after their visit) how they thought UO was "going downhill fast"....that thread got yanked as it was getting nasty. The only other one I can think of is the 2day/3 addtional day thread.....other than that, we've been good... ..really.... :rolleyes1
