Important advice needed

When my boss is out of town, I gather his mail for him. Not liking messy piles, I always sort it largest to smallest, and stack it in a mail bin. I wish all of the envelopes were standard size, but they are not..... SO, if you were sorting his mail, would you sort it largest to smallest using the width or the length?? I always struggle with this.... if I use the length, sometimes the pile is uneven to the side, but if I use the width, then the pile is uneven on the ends. What's a girl to do???

Seriously...wouldn't you just keep it all in the order it arrived? Or are we talking "per day"? (This is much more complicated than it sounds. )

I too think I would put it in the order it arrives but I would do it height wise, I think!

I would also go with the 'By day' then by size. I think it goes to personal preference as to whether you sort it lengthwise or widthwise.

But, if I go "by day", then both the sides and the ends will be crooked..... that's no good!!!

I say we just pass a law that all packages / envelopes have to be a standard size and diminish in length & width as they get decrease in size. That will solve all the problems!!

By size? You've got it easy! I used to have to open my boss' mail, date stamp everything, then sort it in order of importance with what she would consider most important on top. One of the MANY reasons I left my job. LOL!

Oh, I won't..... he loves the way I sort his mail...... actually, he thinks it's funny. When I asked him this question on the phone, he said, "Oh Heidi, this time I wanted it sorted by color!" One time, he said maybe by stamp type. He's used to my obsessive compulsive disorder (or at least that's what Tamie and him call it.... I say it's just trying to keep things looking neat.)

I collect my mom's mail when she is out of town. I just throw it all into a sack without sorting it at all. I'm amazed that I haven't been "fired". Never thought to sort by size. Maybe next time . . . no, I think not. Too much trouble. Besides, I wish she would fire me, I think.
