Impact of Exterior Refurbishment at WL/CCV

Looks like the exterior refurbishment has now been extended through 2026. We have seen various photos which show massive, multi-story scaffolding with stairs etc. (for entire wings, all floors). We had booked for April but are now considering a change. We simply don’t want to risk having to look out on this construction as we love sitting on our balcony.

Given the scale of the scaffolding, we are assuming that affected rooms are still being booked but want to check in with others to find out what others may have experienced.

We stayed at WL in October and didn’t find the construction was an issue. I used TP’s room finder tool to get a room that faced the lake and couldn’t see construction from our balcony at all. And even when we were out and about, I could really only see it from the top of the waterslide.

The frosted window coverings in the lobby were very noticeable, but in every other way, I felt that Disney did a great job of making the construction fairly unobtrusive. Overall, we had a great time, and I wouldn’t let the construction keep me from staying at WL again!

Hard to say. What type of room do you have booked? I was there at the beginning of November and all the scaffolding was up on the Copper Creek side, facing the courtyard. They may be done with that by April. I believe they finished the other side of the courtyard (regular WL rooms). Who knows where they will go after that? Could be the opposite side of the WL building, but again, might the the WL side or the CCV side. It's definitely a risk. Photo is from early November.
