Can ya guess where we were headed today?? LOL Yep, MGM! (for the 'first stop' anyway) While as a whole, MGM is my least favorite park (I don't hate it, but I don't LOVE it like I do the others) .. Rockin' Rollercoaster IS my favorite ride.
So, once up, fortified with coffee, tea, juice and stuff, we caught ... gotcha! LOL NOT a taxi, but the boat. Our timing was perfect, and it was just a few minutes before we were going through the turnstiles at MGM. For some reason, the security lines seemed worse here than at the other parks... but since so many people don't pay attention to what lines are where, we had no trouble getting in! LOL
We headed directly back to RnR, and I couldn't believe it, but there was absolutely NO line at ALL! Plenty of room for Debbie to "walk this way!!!!!!!" LOL This was another first for Julie .. she might've been a little nervous .. but not too bad! And as it turned out, she liked it! She really liked it! <g> We even got a pic from this one .. of course, *my* eyes are shut! LOL
There was some discussion of ToT next ..... but instead, we decided to just buy Julie's DH a shirt from there and call it a day! LOL We wandered through the stores for a bit, just soaking it all in, and rounded the corner and decided we *did* want something to eat now. We hit the commissary and picked up a few kid's meals! LOL They all had chicken tenders and I had fish, and I tell ya .. for a fast meal, it was not bad at all! We buzzed by Millionaire and got FP's, then wandered around a bit more, came back, did the show (Dave and I got up on 'the board' there! Although .. whenever they flashed the score and we *weren't* on the board, then he'd say that the scores were fake! LOLOL)
We walked by the old Hunchback area, :::sniff:::ing as we went by; Julie played with the Little Big Green Men <g> and eventually, it was time for our lunch at Mama's.
After lunch, we decided we 'needed' to go back to Epcot for more Festival festivities, and to do a little in Future World too... so after a quick pass thru of the Clothiers, we caught the boat and took it back to Epcot. We had some bags, so we got a locker right near the International Gateway, and proceeded on our way.
When we got through with a bit of eating and drinking around the world (only half way around this time! LOL) we slid into Futureworld, where we took a ride on Spaceship Earth. Debbie found a cel she wanted in the Art of Disney store up there, and though we *tried* to trick Julie, she already knew about the Beverly at Ice Station Cool! LOL We stopped in Innoventions and sent a few postcards .. though, it's now Friday and they haven't arrived yet!! Guess they're not gonna either! That's so annoying! LOL
We'd originally talked about doing Downtown Disney the day we left, but then decided we'd do it tonight, so that if there was something we'd seen in the parks and they *didn't* have it at DD, we'd still be able to go back for it. So,
what'd we do? Took a cab, of course! LOL Those buses to DD are the WORST .. at least, in my, and Debbie's, experience! WHY make it take an hour or more, when you can get there in a few minutes? LOL
Well .. lemme tell ya -- that was .. I *think* .. my first time to DD to shop at night.. and as far as I'm concerned .. it's the last!! OMG I have not ever seen the World Of Disney Store SO SO crowded there! Geeeeez! Ya practically needed a stun gun to make your way through the crowd! LOL You would've thought they had a 50% off sale running or something!! We actually blew through there relatively .. sorta .. quick, but just had everything shipped back home (maybe I should've taken it with us and used it as a battering ram! LOL)
OH - interesting piece of info. that Debbie heard from a CM at the watch area in the store -- Next year (I think it's next year, right Debbie??), Disney is coming out with a spectacularly special watch, and it will be a joint venture .. with Rolex! Only 6,000 are being made, and the cost will be about $11K. I know they had the partnership with Tag for a while, but discontinued that, so .. maybe this is taking it's place.
Anyway .. ALL of our feet were killing us by now! LOL As you may remember from the other reports, at night, I *do* like to wear heels, and they're *not* always super comfy <G> Even though I didn't have them on this day, I think all the other walking I'd been doing just wore them out! Blisters on cuts on scratches, and everything else in between! LOL Debbie and Dave should've bought stock in Band Aid, as Debbie said, between Julie and I alone! So, after breezing through a few other stores in DD, we decided we HAD to eat -- everyone was starving, thirsty, and loosing steam fast! We headed off towards DD, no particular destination in mind, just whatever was first and had a seat for us! LOL
Debbie turned down Bongo's, muttering something about the health dept! LOL, so we settled on Puck's.
Julie and Dave *said* that *they* wanted to take a bus while we were still inside the restaurant, and Debbie and I waved and said "Have a nice ride"! LOL
But when we got outside, I said .. 'ok, I'll take one <g> let's go, get walkin' 'cause it's a loooooooooooooong way alllllllllllllllll the way down to the end here, past Cirque!" .. needless to say, we hobbled to the nearest taxi stand, and we were outta there! LOL
We all had a WHOLE LOT of packing to do once back in the room - I mean, the kind of packing where you lay on the suitcases, and sit on them, smash 'em, mash 'em .. just get them to close!! LOL
