I'm.........

Hope you finally got to Maui, Bobbi and can start having fun.

Bad night last night. DGD got sick in the middle of the night :( Allergies

Ugh! I remember those night time problems; DS used to always get sick the night before I had a big day at work....Hope Aria feels better now!

I'm going through a long stretch of insomnia lately; being tired during the day is the pits; going to take ZZZquil tonight.

She seemed to feel fine. Just a cough and congestion.
I guess they kept her home today. Still coughing but she slept 12 hours last night.
I still need more sleep.

Oh I will........but we have her again next weekend, so we'll see. And then a couple of days when new baby comes.
I will be ready for that cruise in March!

Sounds like you are getting a good grandma workout Nancy!

Today is DH's first cataract surgery and he is nervous.

I wonder if bobbi has had her first one yet?

Good luck to your DH, Kathy. My BFF had hers and it was easy
Bobbi is in HI. I think she was waiting until she got back

I've been having a grandma workout for 3 1/2 years. Happens when you live so close.
The first year we had her a lot when she was sick.....daycare.
And unless we are out of town, we have always had her 2 weekends a month. We'll see how having 2 goes

Two should be interesting for sure! Maybe you can alternate (lol) and fill every weekend. And I like the name "Alex". Will it be short for Alexander?

His surgery went okay but they found 'cataract debris' in the back of the eye and before he has the other eye done he has to have a retina specialist remove the debris so more appointments this week. It's a good thing we're retired....

Sorry about the extra procedures......no fun

I told DS I can't take both kids overnight. Daytime is fine, but I do need some sleep. So not sure if they will alternate or what. Their choice.

Yes....Alexander James

I'm glad to hear you will have only one at a time; either age will be a handful as you well know. As much as I love my nieces and nephews taking care of them below the age of 10 or so when they could entertain themselves safely was more than I wanted most of the time. Even if I became a grandmother overnight I would have to think twice about caring for one. Good for you!

We were lucky today to get an immediate retina specialist appointment. So we just got back from his first post-op appointment and in a few minutes we will head to a 3 hour retina evaluation; ugh! And then the actual retina repair hopefully within a few days. Then maybe we'll do the other eye cataract surgery.

I've been trying to schedule my hair appt and to see someone about my sore shoulder but his eyes come first.

Sounds like you have your hands full, Kathy. Toddlers, husbands, older kids, they all suck time.

DH just started PT for his finger.

I just got back from the travel agent. Booked 2 cruises for next year :yay:

2 cruises, nice! Disney?

Good luck to your DH; what did he do to injure his finger? I must have missed it.

DH is having retina surgery this morning. He is very worried but resigned to the necessity. I'm thankful he is getting help so quickly but we are all tired of the doctor appointments, paperwork etc. When we got to a restaurant last night just to relax and eat we argued over what to eat. Geez!

But the retina surgeon was reassuring. Thank goodness for tablets and smartphones to use in all that waiting time!

I did get to spend hours in the waiting room yesterday with the cutest 1 year old; he doesn't have any teeth yet but he was making the funniest expressions; scowling then smiling and doing high-fives! Absolutely adorable and being foster-mothered until his adoption by the foster parents next month. That was fun!

1 Disney cruise, 1 RCCL

You must have missed it, DH put his finger through a jointer......disintegrated the finger to the first knuckle. Not pleasant. On Dec 26, a week before we left for WDW.
Still waiting for the bills to come in for that

Good luck again today for your DH.....I had when things pop up so fast.

Lucky you!

That's how retirement feels; every day is a weekend and every day is a 'snow day' of sorts!

....you just burst my balloon....

Sorry! I did work in education for 36 years and then for a federal contractor with the NAEP nationwide test for 7 years. It was definitely time to retire!!!

Your time will come too!

.....and since I teach mathematics [Grade 6 Pre-Algebra] we were just informed [at our last dept meeting] that our yearly review includes 30% of our 'grade' hinging upon students' state-mandated assessment scores.....as if I didn't have enough to fret about...

He sailed through his retina surgery this morning and we're home now. It turned out to be a much simpler procedure than everyone expected so we are happy. Now it's just more appointments and hopefully cataract surgery on the 21st for the other eye.

Thanks for asking Jo!
