I'm worrying! please help calm me down!

We are off to DLP for the first time at the end of September just for a short weekend trip.

I am usually daft about planning when we go to orlando but ive done nothing for our DLP trip becasue we are only there for 2 days and i didnt think it was worth it.

Now I'm panicking! dbf came in and said that he had been told the queues would be a nightmare at the weekend and we would wait like 90mins for each ride. is he right? Normally i can manage orlando crowds no problem but then I've usually spent months planning.

There are 4 of us going and our 2 friends are not disney daft like us.......this will be their first time and I want to make sure they enjoy it.

Please reassure me?!!

Should I try and put some plans in place? if so where do I start?!

Ive never been at this time of year, but I would have thought it would be relatively quiet, now the kids are back to school. Also, with Haloween approaching, im sure there are a few people who holding out til mid-end October for their trip, so I dont think it will be busy enough to cause huge queues.

As far as keeping your friends happy, just make good use of the fast passes and get there early.

I've never wait a queue like that, but, probably in Autopia.

You probably will have to wait a little more than usual, due to going on weekend, but there is no need to be panic.

BTW, use FP on more crowded rides (Peter Pan, SM2). BTM will be closed until mid Oct.

As Gillsfan said that all kids are back to school. However, weekends are normally busy with the locals and a few other peeps who has decided to go away for the weekend. Like FL weekends are generally busier than mid week. The locals go to the parks as well as other Americans who pop over to FL for the weekend. You should expect a raise with french, german, spanish etc.

I doubt you would experience a 90 minute wait times out of peak season. I would get up early and grab the fast passes first. The Peter Pan ride is the major problem when we went. I would expect the park to be slighly busy. If you plan what you want to do then it should not be a problem.

Its not like FL so it does not need as much planning as you would if you were going to WDW. Its still a good idea to know what you want out of the weekend.

The craziest thing I experienced when we went to Barbados it was busy over the weekend as many Americans popped over Barbados for a weekend

thanks for the replies by the sounds of it the person dbf spoke to was exagerating! few!

i expected it to be slightly busier but this guy was like DO NOT go on a weekend.

If you want to do the rides in Fantasyland try to get there either very early or before park closing. I always visited during peak season in summer and although it was crowded I never had to wait 90 minutes for anything. Be sure to use fastpass and maybe decide on what rides are must-dos for you so you can be sure to not miss something you want to see.

Weekends can get busy and it is sometimes difficult to judge whether Saturday will be busier than Sunday
Key strategy is to get to the parks early (for opening is best). Get FP's for Buzz, Peter Pan, BTM etc as quickly as possible.
When the crowds build up you should have managed to do most of the popular rides

Laura, don't know if you know this, but unlike WDW you can hold fastpasses for each ride at the same time at DLRP ~ ie you can hold Peter Pan, Space Mountain, Star Tours all at the same time.
